@@adriel88_ to my understanding, the predator was taunting him more than giving him respect. The predator wants to spice up the hunt, make his prey more challenging. The more challenging the the prey, the better the hunt
Yes most Yautja have a strong sense of Honor But there are also ones like him who are cocky and just care about the hunt And will add times antagonize their prey to make the prey more deadly for a bigger challenge.
I’m sure both are equally and probably are, both equally what happened, on one hand honour, on the other hand, “offed your best friend what you gonna do?”
Fun fact about the pistol the predator gave Danny. That Predator was gonna fight a famous Pirate Captain, but his crew mutinied so the Captain and the Predator teamed up to take out the mutinous crew. Once the crew was killed off the Predator and the Captain turned to duel each other to the death but a surviving crew member shot the Captain before the Predator could duel him, so as the Captain was dying he gave the Predator that pistol.
Yeah there was a huge backstory about how he obtained that pistol. Belonging to some infamous pirate in a duel gone wrong between the Elder Predator and the pirate if I remember correctly.

Hey Schmitt I think you meant to say Danny Glover who was in the Lethal Weapon movies with Mel Gibson Donald Glover is the comedian / actor/musician Childish Gambino he comes out on that show Community
May have already been said, but this is Danny Glover. Donald Glover is younger... he played Lando Calrissian in the Solo movie. Danny Glover was in a lot of 80s movies, especially the Lethal Weapon series with Mel Gibson, which is another set of movies you should watch if you haven't seen those.
I kinda wished they'd watched the credits for a minute or two and corrected themselves on the Danny Glover/Donald Glover thing. Or at least watch the Lethal Weapon movies first so it's more interesting to see Danny Glover and Gary Busey reappear here after being in Lethal 1.
The "Batman vs. Predator" comic was bonkers. I really wish they turn that into a movie. The way Batman won and the trophy he got was very cool. The suit he built for the final battle, him being able to "see" via sonar was a great twist versus the predator's heat vision. EDIT: Now I remember why the artwork was so good, it was done by the Kuberts, Adam & Andy. I love their work on Wolverine!.
For the most part, this sequel was pure fan service, but I'm proud to see two fellow Latinos in the cast: Rubén Blades and María Conchita Alonso. And of course Bill Paxton... again (R.I.P.)
This movie was very progressive and representation we have a Black Heroe that won in the end Hollywood take notes this is how progressive movies are done ✔️ organic nothing forced everything organic
Hey guys, her name is Maria Conchita Alonso and yes she was in Running Man. The actor that plays Danny is Ruben Blades and is now in the show Fear The Walking Dead. This is a great movie and very underrated. "Want some candy?" great line. Glad you enjoyed the movie. I really enjoy your reactions. Keep up the good work. Can't wait for Predators and The Predator reactions.
Funny thing here: Ruben Blades appears in "Once Upon a Time in Mexico" in which he plays a retired FBI agent who is trying to avenge his dead partner... his partner is named Archuleto. I assume it's a shout-out to this movie.
If you know the whole story behind predator 2 and you'll know it's an underrated movie. They were eventually going to make it where predators team up with the humans to take out the xenomorphs.
Man...if you step back and look at it you'd realize Bill Paxton had such a legendary career. Beloved by audiences in every role he ever took up...RIP Bill.
The Flint lock pistol was given to the Predator by the Spanish Pirate captain Raphael Adolini who was challenged by the Predator AKA Yautja elder however the Yautja helped the captain kill his pirate crew after they tried to pull off a mutiny how ever there was one left and he shot his captain in the chest. The line "Take it," was the voice of that captain and his last words after being shot dead by his own crew the Predator respected him so much he remembered how to copy his voice and honoured the captains request keeping his flint lock pistol which means he saw the detective as an equal like the Captain.PS the Yautja left his sword with the captain and burred him with it out of respect and kept the Captains crucifix and you can sees it if you look very closely I saw something shiny like a gold crucifix I could be wrong though.
Yeah, wasn't the story the crew wanted to pillage a monastery but the captain refused to let them so they turned on him. The Yautja saw the Captains action as being honorable so he aided him in fighting the rest of the crew.
@@CanadianFabe I do not remember exactly you could be right all I remember was treasure and the crew turning on the captain and a monastery I think they raided it but as I said before you could be right.
If Predator 1 didn't exist and this movie wasn't a sequel it would probably be rated much higher by critics than it is. Really good movie in my opinion.
Morton Downey Jr. had a very antagonistic show at the time. H pushed the envelope. He plays the reporter in this movie. Also, "Want some candy?" on the train was the creepiest line ever
Early 90s action films like Predator 2 & Terminator 2 seem to expect violence to really escalate near the end of that decade. Another one in that category is Demolition Man (1993) starring Sylvester Stallone, Wesley Snipes, & Sandra Bullock. Highly recommended especially since you guys enjoyed the tone of The Running Man.
The violence ramped up but the explicitness dwindled. The MPAA really cracked down on gore and disturbing imagery in the mid-to-late '80s which is why so many slasher movies have truncated final cuts (FRIDAY THE 13TH PART VII being one of the most famous examples). So the violence amped up but it was kind of toothless so that they didn't run into ratings issues. From '89-'93 you see a lot of gun-violence-heavy action movies that don't have a whole lot of blood or messed up stuff like you would see in ROBOCOP. DEMOLITION MAN is actually one of the best examples.
There's actually a comic called "Predator: 1718" that talks about the pistol's backstory. I'd also recommend "Predator: If It Bleeds", an antholgy book containing cool mashups like Cowboys vs Predator and Samurai vs Predator.
My favorite part of this movie is when Danny Glover was inside the ship & they showed all the skulls collected over the years & then later they gave him that old gun. Briefly got to see Danny Glover up close & personal at my friend's college graduation a few years ago. He was the speaker. Afterwards he walked through the crowd where everyone had gathered to take pictures and whatnot and shook the hand of my friend's son standing next to me. Predator vs dinosaurs would be super dope.
Back in the day I thought one of the reasons why I like this movie is because Danny Glover's character brought a Lethal Weapon vibe in combining the Murtaugh/Riggs personas.
Just based on reading the Dark Horse comics I’ve always pronounced it “YOWT-JUH” but I just started the video and haven’t heard them say it yet. I could be totally wrong in my pronunciation lol. EDIT: aaaaand I’ve been saying it wrong my entire life haha. Thanks for the clarification.
@@TBRSchmitt You said it slowly every time, but you got it down I'd say 90% other than a little stumble towards the end. A lot better than the guy who says it like "yatch-uah", lol
I have a personal idea that Yautja is pronounced in many ways depending on the clan, that way all the audiences would've pronounced right in some form. It's silly but I like it
But we don't know for shure if the Alien killed Hudson or took him to the Hive. So it might be possible that Hudson was killed by the explotion of the Reactor while he was "waiting" for his Facehugger to hatch. 😉
People say this and while the Alien and Predator is definitely a certainty, the Terminator is not. Bill Paxton's character is thrown at a gate and is knocked out. It's not certain he actually died by the Terminator's hand.
It’s a strange uneven film that moves quickly from action to horror to comedy to parody/satire, but it is fun, moves quickly and adds great Predator weapons from a retracting net, a telescoping spear, and a flying boomerang cutting disc.
King Willy challenging a Yautja Warrior to single combat is still one of my favorite scenes. The rules of the hunt are no killing non-combatants, no leaving Tech behind and don't get captured. a Yautja will always accept a challenge to single combat though.
Nice! What I love is Predator 2 made no attempts to copy the first movie and instead went with an 80s action cop story that is interrupted by an alien invader. RIP Bill Paxton as well, the guy routinely steals every scene he's in
Predator II is underestimated because Predator I was so good. It is, in fact, a very good flick too. I remember, as a child, being in awe with the trophy room and the others Predators. It made me love Predators (Yautja). I love the fact that they are not these mindless killing machines, you understand they have society, rules, honor.
Dang! Almost made the first comment, I'll settle for second. This movie gave me one of my biggest Fanboy moments of all time when I recognized the Xenomorph skull on the wall of the Predator ship.
Twister (1996). Bill Paxton graduating to the role of a Hollywood leading man from years of being a character actor. Granted, even as a leading man, he wasn't the big star of his own movie!
Watching this video over a year later, and after the release of Prey, the comments in the video about a movie set in the period of that gun makes me look forward to seeing the reaction to prey now
The news guy is Morton Downey Jr. He was a controversial tv show host in the 80’s. Had a Jerry Springer like show. He would smoke cigarettes and get into fights with guests on his show.
He was also a predecessor for guys like Rush Limbaugh. He was a staunch pro-smoking advocate, a member of the National Smokers Alliance, who would regularly smoke on his show....until he had got lung cancer and had to have one of his lungs removed. After that, his views changed. He said, 'I had spawned a generation of kids to think it was cool to smoke a cigarette'. He ended up dying of lung cancer 10 years later. Weirdly enough, Rush Limbaugh was also a pro-smoker who died of lung cancer too.
Great reaction again. Danny Glover and Gary Busey were also in the first Lethal Weapon movie a couple years before, along with Mel Gibson. The Lethal Weapon series were really good action packed movies too.
What's truly interesting about this movie is that is came out in 1990. People really thought that violence and crime was going to be a real problem in our future. Truth is crime went down in 92 and for a long, long while after. Just a compelling insight. Thanks for your reaction. This movie was a lot of fun. I saw it in the theater. Danny Glover is always good in whatever he does.
"There goes L.A." Well, given the state of L. A. in the film, it might benefit from a little urban renewal. Glad to see you enjoyed this one as much as the first, a worth wide sequel that did a lot of things right. The predator in the first movie was a less experienced hunter, which explains why this one understands our language better as well as the ones at the end. I saw this in the theater and I remember being speechless at the end. Looking forward to more reactions!
How you know the first Predator was less experience? This one seemed more younger as he was so reckless when he was hunting his recklessness is what ultimately got him killed in front of his whole clan smh how can you make such a claim if anything the jungle hunter was a veteran
@@adriel88_ As much as I love the original Predator (and it's a far better movie compared to part 2) the jungle hunter was playing on easy mode the entire time. All he did was stay invisible and stuck to the trees the entire movie (besides the last 3rd obviously) while sniping his targets with the plasma caster. Something that really isn't that challenging for any Predator really. The city hunter displayed far more skill. He didn't rely on his cloaking technology or plasma caster nearly as much. And I do realize he didn't need to since he was better equipped, but still. He took out multiple dudes (including a special unit made specifically to hunt him) single handedly without breaking a sweat, and doing it in an environment that's much harder to blend in. He definitely seemed more experienced to me.
@@jeffdecker7077 going from some other replies some people don't agree but I've always felt it applies to Lance Henriksen. Those who don't agree argue that the Queen Xenomorph didn't actually kill him outright, so it is a little open to interpretation, see what you think.
Thank you for being one of the few reactors TBR Schmitt to actually cover this movie and not skip over it, Wonder what your impression would be of the third film PredatorS, the fourth film The Predator is not so popular, Alien vs Predator is a spin off.
I like The Predator it’s pretty fucked up The Studio execs fucked Shane Black movie and made him change the whole third act if we gotten the original cut it would’ve been so much better but I still love the movie for what it is Love how they shot it love the characters and the jokes and Love McKenna we hardly see movies focusing on Dad and son love and relation
The film which largely established every space scifi movie since. You will not be disappointed because you will be surprised that it's not dated. It holds up even today. Forbidden Planet a genuine representative of a G.O.A.T.
@@TBRSchmitt It is fantastic! One of the first true big budget studio sci-fi films that helped to shake off the stigma of the genre being just silly kids' stuff.
This is the film that created the Alien v. Predator franchise. When Predator 2 was made, both franchises were owned by different companies and there were no plans for any official crossover. The production designers just decided to 'hide' a xenomorph skull in the trophy display as a fun nod to that other killer alien franchise (which had just released Aliens the year prior to the original Predator). But seeing that skull on the trophy wall opened a whole new facet of fandom that began with independent comics, then video games in arcades, and after many years of the fans telling the competing studios to make it happen, it finally did in 2004!
The backstory to that Pistol at the end is incredible and I loved reading the comic it is called "Predator 1718" iirc I really can't say much other than Predator and Pirates without spoiling it Edit: Fun fact the predator in the first movie was a younger predator that relied heavily on it's plasma caster which is considered dishonourable towards the prey and ruins most trophies since it tends to destroy the spinal column which is sign you took out your prey in a clean manner (unless you go by the newest movie's reason...)
People keep saying that Bill Paxton has the distinction of being killed by a Terminator, Alien and Predator, but the Terminator didn’t actually kill him..just pushed him away. Little trivia - Kevin Peter Hall came back to play the Predator in this film and sadly passed away shortly after. He was in my opinion, the best actor to portray a Predator..no one even comes close to his movements and overall style. Great reaction
The City Hunter, also known as "Ghost," specialized in close quarter combat with more weaponry than the Jungle Hunter in the first film. He was more reckless and didn't utilize his camouflage as much
How did you find out about its name? And I agree, he was more wreckless, because at the end he was already missing an arm and the clan probably told him "either fight the guy that took your arm and take his skull, or get executed by us."
What interesting from this film is, the 1st Predator located in the jungle scene which perfect for the theme, as the 2nd one in the city, which in itself a "concrete jungle", it's a suitable theme as well!!
I love Predator 2 and IMHO it's vastly underrated. It respected what came before in the original, expanded on the lore and weapons of the Predator just enough, we saw more of the Predator, Kevin Peter Hall (RIP) also played City Hunter differently from Jungle Hunter to give him his own distinction, great cast, very well done action scenes, awesome setting having it take place in the city, cool take having it be a detective story, etc. Stephen Hopkins did a very solid job with it.
Glad y'all like the movie! My favorite moments in this film were King Willie vs Predator (Yautja), the train sequence, the moment when the Yautja clan appears, and lastly the Alien skull (Xenomorph)! This movie was supposed to be a lot gory and intense than how it was portrayed in this film. However, the studio had asked to cut out most parts as they view it disturbing. Many other scenes that were not intense had to be cut out as well. Scenes like Anna's cameo from the first Predator film in which she is being interviewed by the same organization Keyes works for. Anyways, that's my little trivia for ya! I'll see ya later when the Alien vs Predator reaction comes out soon. xD P.S. If y'all ever do an Alien vs Predator reaction, I'd suggest y'all watch the extended edition version!
Bill Paxton has been killed by the Terminator, Alien, & Predator! A very Underrated Bill Paxton role is Coconut Pete in the movie Club Dread. Club Dread isn't amazing but Bill Paxton is so it's worth watching.
The opening sequence was off the charts insane..this movie was a classic easily the second best in the franchise and top 10 sci fi movies ever..think about it.
Danny Glover was in the movie franchise lethal weapon also in his movie was the actor who played his captain in the lethal weapon franchise and yes that was Maria conchito Alonzo from The running Man
The original cut of the movie contained 20-30 minutes of gorier bloodier footage: More of the Predator skinning people. An extended scene with more of the Predator's victims in the building as seen in the opening. Jerry Lambert ( Bill Paxton) having his spine ripped out. Close up. An extended chase scene where Harrigan follows the Predator as it leaps from rooftop to rooftop. Keyes interviewing Anna after her encounter with the Predator. Keyes explaining to Harrigan that Dutch escaped from an army hospital and has not been seen since the events of Predator.
Here's hoping one day Stephen Hopkins gets the chance to release his original cut of Predator 2 eventually. With Disney now owning the franchise you never know.
YES!!! PREDATOR 2 FTW!! Arnold Schwarzenegger was going to come back for the sequel but didn't like the idea of the movie taking place in the city rather than the jungle. Patrick Swayze was considered and Steven Seagal. Director Stephen Hopkins realized that Seagal was going to play a CIA psychiatrist with a gun, but Hopkins changed his mind when he realized Seagal was a nut job.
Hopefully it will still happen eventually once all this COVID BS finally ends. A lot of us Predator fans have been waiting a long time to see the uncut version of Predator 2.
The subway scene was a callback to an incident on December 22, 1984 on a New York City subway in Manhattan. Four young men allegedly attempted to rob Bernard Goetz. He shot them, injuring all 4, leaving one of them paraplegic. Public opinion originally sided with Goetz, claiming he was a victim and a righteous vigilante. Further investigation and court proceedings did not hold that be the case but the incident kind of served as an example of people being fed up and willing to take justice into their own hands. Hence all the folks on the subway having their own guns. Make of that what you will.
Science fiction reflects our anxieties at the time. Crime was so bad in the early 90's that they thought eventually it'd be all out war in the cities. However, crime peaked in the early to mid 90s and has fallen precipitously for the next 25 years.
There’s a really compelling scientific argument that the huge crime rates of the late 70’s to early 90’s was due to leaded gasoline and increased lead poisoning from emissions..As soon as leaded gasoline was banned the crime began to drop...Crime is still at a low, the media just focuses on it non stop so it appears it’s getting worse.
@@ryanhampson673 Yeah, I always felt that had to be a big contributor. Thing about crime though is there's so many variables that it's hard to say what did what and by how much.
The key to that ending scene when the line, "don't worry asshole you'll get another chance" was said is that the Predators have been coming to this planet since the 1700's and maybe long before then and you can see that from the date on the gun the Predator tossed to Danny Glover. Also it's important to notice that in the Predators trophy case was not only a human skull but also a T-Rex skull and an Alien/Xenomorph scull. That tells me that the Predators have been around a long time, fictionally of course.
glad you two liked this sequel. it doesn't get much appreciation, undeserving so. But it actually does a lot right. Doesn't simply repeat the formula set by it's predecessor, adds something own instead ... - and doesn't retroactively "destroy" (i mean it in a sense of "devalue") the first one. The first one is better, yes, but this one is very good, too. Good cast. Bill Paxton is basically a guarantee that the movie doesn't suck, if this dude was in a movie - it's was an enjoyable one everytime, didn't matter how small his role was. Maria Conchita Alonso was in "Running Man". Gary Busey and Donald Glover ... well, come on ;) This movie also established a lot of the lore for later comics, video games and so on. The new weapons and different visors were all used in video games after (the "Alien VS Predator" PC games and the arcade one were top quality). Sadly everything after this movie has gone downhill pretty fast - Predators (the 3rd movie) was shitty (imo; but also not really imo; it was shitty), and the latest one... Alien VS Predator movies were a bad joke. I would same fate like the Terminator franchise, but luckily that one ended after two movies. Oh, yeah, Arnold was offered a role in Predator 2, but he choose doing Terminator 2 instead - given the cult status of the first one at this point and Cameron directing - def. the right choice You really got hang up on that trophy gun from 1719. I don't want it to look as a ad for the channel, but "Marvelous Videos" just released a video on Predator 2 a couple of weeks ago. I don't agree with all they say there (ie the characters better than in P1), but they do make some good points... and also explain the gun thing (~ 14 min in) - it's a hint to the AvP comics ua-cam.com/video/Y6itf2tsvwI/v-deo.html
The trophy pistol has a backstory - the Predator that gave it to him hunted the Caribbean a long time ago and watched a pirate crew mutiny on their captain- he helped the captain destroy the crew so they could fight 1v1, but a crew member shot the captain in the back before they could duel. He gave the Predator his pistol and said “take it”

I graduated from high school 1997 and LA did kind of resemble how it was portrayed in this movie. The LA riots happened a couple of years after this movie released and if you took the Predator out of this movie, it would just have been about an average day trying to survive in LA in the early 90s.
Damn birds!... I remember rewatching this and getting the taxidermy store joke I missed as a kid lol..One of the best paced action movies imo.. you eat your pop-corn without looking at it once.

For the most part, this sequel was pure fan service, but I'm proud to see two fellow Latinos in the cast: Rubén Blades and María Conchita Alonso. And of course Bill Paxton... again (R.I.P.)
Yeah I think it was a good action packed path they took since the suspense of the reveal of the predator is gone!
This movie was very progressive and representation we have a Black Heroe that won in the end Hollywood take notes this is how progressive movies are done ✔️ organic nothing forced everything organic
@@adriel88_ The movie was actually written for Patrick Swayze but he wasn’t available. I like Danny Glover though too.
And dint forget Total Recall.

@@dgrayman87 okay thanks will check it out to jog my memory.
that's so awesome
Danny Glover not Donald, check out Lethal Weapon or Silverado
Dang great catch! I probably shouldn’t have been watching community right before this...
Yes, Silverado. Excellent movie.
Oh, yeah! Silverado. Nice.
@@TBRSchmitt community! Nice :)
Yep, Donald Glover is the other guy. An actor and rapper that goes by the name Childish Gambino.
If Predator 1 didn't exist and this movie wasn't a sequel it would probably be rated much higher by critics than it is. Really good movie in my opinion.
RIP Bill Paxton.........you were a real gem.
Yes, for the joy of watching Lenina Huxley and her Jackie Chan kicks!
jp3813 it kinda did...
You can't be well if you don't watch Demolition Man!!!
And that Dan Cortese cameo lol 🎹
The Vikings vs. Predator is my favorite one. But they are all good.
Danny Glover is such a fun actor. I recommend the Lethal Weapon series. Good cop drama with funny banter to boot.
RIP Bill Paxton. The only man to be killed by a Predator, an Alien AND a Terminator. What a legend.
And a Agent of SHIELD. lol
He survived Ice-T and Ice Cube too.
Lance Henriksen was also killed by all three
In Memory of Kevin Peter Hall, Original PREDATOR of the 87 & 90 Classics (1955 - 1991) 😢🙏💪✊️⭐️🕊
If you ask me he got gyped. Shouldn't have traded that awesome discus for that flintlock.
Danny was my childhood black heroe he did it first 😊😊😇😇
When I saw this in the theatre multiple people reacted audibly to the Xenomorph trophy. It was a great moment.
ok so I'm not sure when I saw this first but I never noticed the xenomorph skull until years later
That was the highlight of the film for all my friends , lol . It was cool .
My dad noticed and told me while we were watching it. My 12 year old brain melted in the theater. Thanks dad, I miss you.
The funny thing Is that the xenomorphs dont have skulls they aré like bugs AND have exoskelletons so its a Fake trophy 🙊
@@tidussquaal then it's probably a preserved exo-skull-head, not that hard to grasp.
Back in the day I thought one of the reasons why I like this movie is because Danny Glover's character brought a Lethal Weapon vibe in combining the Murtaugh/Riggs personas.
Oh my god, you're just about the first people I've seen who's pronounced Yautja correctly? Good on you.
Did we!? I’m sure we said it correct like 20% of the time but I will take it lol
It's silly but I like it
Bill Paxton is the only actor in history to have been killed by The Terminator, The Predator and the Alien
Lance Henriksen is close, if you count Bishop getting ripped in half by the Alien Queen.
@@ikr9358 I was just gonna say that!
I think that too, but most people ignore it because Bishop isn't human, so technically doesn't get killed...
Its one of those ADD afflicted early 90's movies that blazes from one scene (and tone) to the next. Kinda wears you out, though.
King Willy challenging a Yautja Warrior to single combat is still one of my favorite scenes. The rules of the hunt are no killing non-combatants, no leaving Tech behind and don't get captured. a Yautja will always accept a challenge to single combat though.
You two should watch “Enemy Mine” underrated and not well known 80’s science fiction movie. I guarantee you two will enjoy it :)
Great suggestion! Love that movie.
"DAAAAAAAVIIIIIIIDDDDGGGEEE!"
I didn’t enjoy it and I don’t think it would make a good reaction vehicle.
Louis Gossett Jr., Dennis Quaid. Enjoyed that movie.
Nice! What I love is Predator 2 made no attempts to copy the first movie and instead went with an 80s action cop story that is interrupted by an alien invader. RIP Bill Paxton as well, the guy routinely steals every scene he's in
It was a very underrated film
Didn’t expect you guys to watch this one
King Willie haha what a guy
Thank you for the reaction
Watch a long kiss goodnight with Gena Davis and Samuel L jackson. Great action flick.
Hell yes. Love that movie. Written by Shane Black no less back when he was still writing kick ass action films.
An under rated action sleeper.
Definitely a fun action flick.
Directed by Renny Harlin director of Die Hard 2 and Cliffhanger with Stallone, for me the best film of that director.
I watched that for the first time a few months ago. Great movie
"Chef's do that." Awesome flick suggestion - that movie f*cks
I LOVE THIS SEQUEL!!!!!!!
Love you two. seldom pause the movie. And you guys give a great breakdown at the end.
Exactly! I hate reaction videos where people keep pausing every now and then. These two are great.
DANNY GLOVER :) HE'S IN THE ( LETHAL WEAPON ) SERIES WITH MEL GIBSON.
Yeah that was an awesome moment! Was trying to figure out what the other skulls were
Such an underrated sequel. Awesome to see you guys giving it a watch and it’s much deserved props.
Since you are watching all of Bill Paxton's films by mistake, you may as well add Frailty to the docket.
He directed it too. He was in Nightcrawler too! Great movie, one of his last movies, unfortunately.
That is a good one. You pretty much can't go wrong with Matthew McConaughey either.
Twister (1996). Bill Paxton graduating to the role of a Hollywood leading man from years of being a character actor. Granted, even as a leading man, he wasn't the big star of his own movie!
Watching this video over a year later, and after the release of Prey, the comments in the video about a movie set in the period of that gun makes me look forward to seeing the reaction to prey now
I wish Danny Glover had got more action roles in his prime.
Predators: "If you beat us in a fair fight, we'll give you a trophy and let you go. Or nuke your whole area. We're so random, lol!"

You guys NEED to screen Prey, the new Predator prequel. Muskets, settlers, but no dinosaurs 🦖
Hey can u answer me hello??? Answer me I wanna debate you on your statement and opinion debate me
@@adriel88_ As much as I love the original Predator (and it's a far better movie compared to part 2) the jungle hunter was playing on easy mode the entire time.
Fantastic Sequel !! Little trivia, Bill Paxton is the only actor to be killed by a Predator, Terminator and Xenomorph in Aliens.

Thank you for being one of the few reactors TBR Schmitt to actually cover this movie and not skip over it, Wonder what your impression would be of the third film PredatorS, the fourth film The Predator is not so popular, Alien vs Predator is a spin off.

Bill Paxton as Hudson and The Lone Ranger. Brilliant death scenes for both characters. R.I.P Bill.
Just an idea, but Forbidden Planet (1956) would be a great movie to react to.
Thanks for the recommendation! We definitely want to watch that!
The film which largely established every space scifi movie since. You will not be disappointed because you will be surprised that it's not dated. It holds up even today. Forbidden Planet a genuine representative of a G.O.A.T.
@@TBRSchmitt Forbidden Planet is pretty much the template for Star Trek.
@@TBRSchmitt It is fantastic! One of the first true big budget studio sci-fi films that helped to shake off the stigma of the genre being just silly kids' stuff.
@@richardb6260 also... for Event Horizon and Sphere.
The backstory to that Pistol at the end is incredible and I loved reading the comic it is called "Predator 1718" iirc I really can't say much other than Predator and Pirates without spoiling it
Edit: Fun fact the predator in the first movie was a younger predator that relied heavily on it's plasma caster which is considered dishonourable towards the prey and ruins most trophies since it tends to destroy the spinal column which is sign you took out your prey in a clean manner (unless you go by the newest movie's reason...)
aaaand it seems they are going to retcon that comic with the new Prey movie....
Bill Paxton was a great actor in all movies and may him R.I.P. even of course the skulls you both seen is some humankind and one from the Alien!👍🏿
That scene with all the guns in the subway reminded me of growing up in the Bronx in the 70's & 80's. A little Bernard Goetz anyone? LOL

Hello Folks, that Prequel you spoke of at the end of your watching Predator 2 video is out, Its called PREY... Very, Very Good...
Eraser from 95. Top notch Arnold action flick
Eraser is from 1996. You people get movie years wrong too much.😕
16:29 - "Thank God everyone's armed" - hehe just few minutes before realizing that armed is what the Predator seeks. ;)
I love that you both react arm in arm, its cute! 😊
They seem like great people and a great couple. I've been enjoying the channel for awhile now. Keep up the great work!
The funniest line to me in the whole movie is when the news reporter call the Jamaican drug lord "The prince of powder" lol
"I thought someone was being murdered."
Wasn't someONE, per se...
Danny Glover was in the movie franchise lethal weapon also in his movie was the actor who played his captain in the lethal weapon franchise and yes that was Maria conchito Alonzo from The running Man
The original cut of the movie contained 20-30 minutes of gorier bloodier footage:
More of the Predator skinning people.
Danny Glover crushed this role so it all worked out!!
An unrated cut of the movie was supposed to be Released last year but it was cancelled due to the pandemic.
This film is such a good sequel
Which is super rare
The key to that ending scene when the line, "don't worry asshole you'll get another chance" was said is that the Predators have been coming to this planet since the 1700's and maybe long before then and you can see that from the date on the gun the Predator tossed to Danny Glover. Also it's important to notice that in the Predators trophy case was not only a human skull but also a T-Rex skull and an Alien/Xenomorph scull. That tells me that the Predators have been around a long time, fictionally of course.
Just a correction, the "T-Rex skull" is not a T-Rex, but just another alien beast.
Bill Paxton has encountered 3 of the Engineer's creations!!!! The first Terminator - 1st scene, then Aliens, now Predator!
glad you two liked this sequel. it doesn't get much appreciation, undeserving so.
Gary Busey and Donald Glover ... well, come on ;)
This movie also established a lot of the lore for later comics, video games and so on.
Oh, yeah, Arnold was offered a role in Predator 2, but he choose doing Terminator 2 instead - given the cult status of the first one at this point and Cameron directing - def. the right choice
You really got hang up on that trophy gun from 1719. I don't want it to look as a ad for the channel, but "Marvelous Videos" just released a video on Predator 2 a couple of weeks ago. I don't agree with all they say there (ie the characters better than in P1), but they do make some good points... and also explain the gun thing (~ 14 min in) - it's a hint to the AvP comics
ua-cam.com/video/Y6itf2tsvwI/v-deo.html
The trophy pistol has a backstory - the Predator that gave it to him hunted the Caribbean a long time ago and watched a pirate crew mutiny on their captain- he helped the captain destroy the crew so they could fight 1v1, but a crew member shot the captain in the back before they could duel. He gave the Predator his pistol and said “take it”
Check the predators “hair” he has beads and “dreads” - very Caribbean look to it

From jungle to concrete jungle in a matter of 10 years, and the hunt is still on!!!
I graduated from high school 1997 and LA did kind of resemble how it was portrayed in this movie. The LA riots happened a couple of years after this movie released and if you took the Predator out of this movie, it would just have been about an average day trying to survive in LA in the early 90s.
