What's funny is that Riot has actually put champions that are visually a lot like Sera into every role (like Gwen on top, Lillia on jungle, Zoe on mid and Zeri on ADC).
With ADC players, I feel like the problem was that Seraphine just simply didn't fill the "carry" niche that they're all playing the role for. They all play that role because they want to obliterate enemies with their huge damage from the backline, and while Sera does have ok damage, she has a lot less than other mages or marskmen as a tradeoff for her team utility and CC.
And if anyone is wondering about mid Sera, I can answer that very easily, as a guy who has mid Seraphine as a pocket pick - her abilities are some of the slowest in the entire midlane roster, and midlane mages with slow abilities don't exactly get played in that role a lot. Anivia's Q speed was increased for this exact reason.
Support players are completely fine with slow abilities though (case in point - Nami bubble and Senna root), as they're a LOT easier to hit when there's an ally that can set you up or distract your enemies, plus you also have two targets.
Seraphine is obnoxious and loud, what corporate sociopaths think mem should pretend is cool. Lillia and Gwen are cool.
I just want to clarify that I very much hate the way Seraphine was designed as a character, and I really wanted her to be a celestial creature or a siren or something more interesting. And I still play Aurelion Sol a lot more, she's just someone I occasionally pick when I want something a little bit safer (basically, if you'd compare me to Hashinshin, Aurelion Sol would be my Aatrox, and Seraphine would be my Jax).
Gameplay and design aren't that closely linked. I hate Seraphine's design but like her gameplay, while I love Illaoi's design but dislike her gameplay (janky hitboxes and such).

You wont land it is the enemy is half decent. Most of the times bubbles are for zoning and directing enemies into other skillshots .

Same, I usually play dark themed champions but Gwen is cool and enjoyable, probably because she's designed to be a fighter for top lane, Seraphine might be decent as APC but she's not designed for it so it doesn't feel... Right I guess?

Seraphine is great in MID, and what you said is correct, i love Seraphine, it was one of the reasons i started playing (along with KDA and then Arcane) and yes, i also like playing Lux or Yummy from time to time, i know this type of charactes bother a lot of people but not everyone likes buff hairy men, sometimes a little bit of sparkle is nice.
I will always stick with seraphine mid. The insane carry potential is wasted in the support role. Id much rather go with my Sona otp heart.
When i first started playing League i chose champions based on how cool they're, like Mordekaiser, Warwick, Rek'sai, Aurelion Sol, Jhin, Aatrox..
I chose velkoz, poppy and Aatrox.. Go figure

same, before I started to play league, I kinda hated it because most champions from league are fairy and weeby, so I choosed dota 2 bc dota 2 know how to make cool characters in a fantasy world, the only champions from league that looked cool was morde,renekton and aatrox

I play her for her playstyle as a support. As I do Thresh and Nautilus for their hooks.

I play Sera mid still like she was intended but also have played her support and in the bot carry role specifically with Lux/Brand support.

Unpopular opinion, the reason people hate seraphine is mostly because there was a trend where streamers hate seraphine. Not actually because of her lore or her abilities.
Or maybe is it that her gameplay is very different to other adc's and the people who enjoy playing adc don't enjoy her play style?? I don't think most people give a shit about how champions look when they play them

On the other side, I’m an ADC main and I love playing Seraphine bot. The second we need more magic damage, she’s my go-to. I also play her mid when I can. I love the champ in botlane, but I can see why she isn’t as popular. Still, I think diversity like that is good for the game. Different strokes for different folks; some of us like a glitter bomb carry

I mean, I would agree with this at times because I mostly play Champions I feel like I can relate with. That's why when I started playing League, I loved playing Nidalee because not only do I like Forest Themed characters (coz I loved playing Enchantress [Dota]), she also promotes the playstyle I like which is sniping enemies with her javelin in safe and obscure positions and healing others or myself. When she was reworked, it started to not work for me and my friends taught me to play support. While the damage wasn't there, making sure my team stays alive makes supports so fun... Until your ADC flames you because you accidentally stole the kill despite you trying your best to keep them alive.

I play lux a LOT and I hate seraphine with every fiber of my being because my first main was sona since I first started playing the game. So to me seraphine feels fucking odd seeing she’s like sona in so many ways and it’s not just her kit

Thats not really because of appearance, its because adc players are used to play adc which have a Pretty close mechanic no matter the champion, so apcs require them to play a very different playstyle than what theyre used to

My champ pool is something like pantheon, mordekaiser, thresh, velkoz... and then yuumi and gwen. Pretty flex sometimes I want to play as some edgy champ and other times I just want to be a cat

Well, When I am new to League, the first champion that I buy is Lux. It doesn't mean I pick Lux because I'm a simp. Her kit is very friendly to me. In the case of Seraphine, she is a decent champion for me. She is very useful in clashes and forming team fights that's why on several occasions I use her as support. The only annoying about hating the "E-Girls" is that people that hate them are those people likes edgy,monster stuffs just to satisfy there hate in "perfection" and pastel colors because it's not there niche.Yikes.
To be fair. These people also play miss fortune, Ashe, and jinx who are all fairly girly looking. Especially with skins like miss fortunes new legendary and jinx’s new battle cat skin

I think her low pick rate is not because adc players "dont want" her to play. My guess is they pick her only in good matchups. When your team have enough carry potential.
The reason is probably that she is not an adc but an apc. Playing a mage is completely new for someone who plays marksmen so it makes sense existing adc mains don't play her
