What size piston did you buy...im looking but not really sure which to get
@@Cinco762 What gun do you own?
Baby Face P just AK 47 Nothing crazy
@@Cinco762 First one at that link is for the AKM, should be what you need.
Baby Face P thanks man much appreciated
There’s a huge difference in the length of travel in the before and after- great comparison. Thanks
Bought a kns now i can't wait to install....bro the bolt carrier DIDN'T EVEN TOUCH THE REAR TRUNNION!! HOLY SHIT!!
It's a night and day difference.
Its been a month how is it?
LOL Pew Pew Pew...There's an opportunity to create a whole new language here, Call it PewBonics.
Slow mo much appreciated. Put it on 0.25x on UA-cam - the original piston totally slams back farther. Will be picking up one of these pistons!
Great video. Loved the slow mo to show what's happening when you use this thing proper
Found your channel about a month ago by your ak build series awesome channel and content sure will help when I start building my ak
Smooth jazz was nice and soothing over the slow motion footage
Dude the KNS stopped the carrier from bottoming out. That's worth it's weight in gold.
Agreed!
Thanks for all your content! Great vid! Wish you had more subscribers for your channel
Thank you for this. Just installed mine. Heading to the range now to set up.
That slow mo comparison was insane. Ordering one of these now
careful lifting that safety lever above the safe position. On some rifles, if this still has the original full-auto safety, the back tab can trip the trigger, and set off a round.
That's very toughtful man! Great info btw👍👍
@@trooperodst6880 my Polish AKM does it. I replaced the safety lever with a Krebs Custom one, so it doesn't anymore, but I kept the full auto safety because it's just cool to have.
@@PolishBigfootCircle11 Yes great to see. Good to be mindful about that! :)
@@PolishBigfootCircle11 WBP Jack?
Very helpful video, the slow-motion part of the video really helped me understand the tuning process.
You can see the difference when you watch the bolt carrier not traveling all the way back. My M92 is doing this and I just ordered this piston to correct it.
Hope the test goes well you deserve it.
Thank you for posting the full gambit of installation and adjustment. I will be installing this in my Bulgarian SAM7. It sends spent shells into the next country! Need to fix that.
Whats amazing is none of the product documentation says that the kns piston includes the roll pin but your video does, thank you!
excellent video for comparison. would it be a safe assumption that regulated and tuned gas would cause less barrel whip leading to better accuracy? have you seen a change in accuracy
That slow-mo comparison was really cool. Never seen it like that and was crazy slamming that rear trunnion 😂
Damn great video I may need to look into adjustable gas piston big difference.
Brother and hello fellow Floridridan
I just found your channel and like what you do and well spoken, great videos and you have a new subscriber. Be safe and healthy out there , God bless
That's a nice option to have, I'm glad my Zastava has an adjustable gas block..
Which one comes with an adjustable gas block?
@@siniquezu the M90np
Good job on the video my man. I’ll subscribe
Definitely like the video been wondering about this man bc my wasr is really over gassed
Great Video 😊
AWESOME JOB YOUNG'UN
I HAVE FOUND THAT MOST PEOPLE ARE OVER GASSED ...IS IT THE CASE, OR JUST MY OLD ASS ?
GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR LOVED ONES
KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK
GODSPEED
Excellent video thank you man
Man thanks for video!!! I'm going to get this kns piston but not sure which option to get on thier website.
I have the arsenal SLR 107
Excellent video sir!
Subbed love the AK!
You are very genius person my brother wish you all the best,
Very cool! Im looking into one myself! I think with that and a good MD should pretty much make recoil non existent lol hope so anyways def gonna find out! Be great to have running suppressed too! Thanks for sharing!
A MD, this, and a dong.
Did you also notice that your spent cases weren't being thrown as far? I've bought one of these pistons for my PSL but haven't installed it yet. The PSL shoots extracted cases about 30+ feet. The guys 6 tables down at the range don't appreciate that. I'm hoping to improve that. If I am successful with the PSL, the next piston goes in my AK.
It kept a nice pile but much closer.
Love the Ak stuff
That was sweet I'm impressed! The best invention since sliced bread! LOL IF you were dealing with full auto it would make the "PEW-PEW" more accurate and controllable! Full auto can be a mess and a waste of "PEW-PEW" if not controllable! It's not tactical if every round isn't controlled to a degree! It's good for suppression fire! When you're throwing everything at them including the kitchen sink! LOL! With your setup If/When you had problems it doesn't take much to correct it. That was an awesome video.Your channel is growing and maybe you can hit 10k soon! Thank you. May GOD Bless you and yours.
Couldn't you take the top handguard off and adjust between shots? I have seen aks shoot without dust cover and gastube
Have a Norinco MAK90...not finding the rivet that holds gas piston in place. It actually is a little loose and rattles. A little insight to the interchangeability of AK and MAK parts would be helpful. And will this gas piston work in the MAK once I figure out how to get it apart?
Same with WASRs, it’s because they are welded in place.
You should do your initial testing with a fully loaded magazine. You want to make sure that the bolt can strip a round off a mag under full spring tension. With one round in the magazine, you don't know if the bolt is going back far enough to strip the next round and chamber it.
Those bangs get me all shaky sometimes too bro lol great video
What type of drill bits did you use in your video?
Hey man do you know what's the size for wasr 10 for the kns piston? Pew pew :)
Great stuff .
Looks like I will spending some money on a KNS piston
Good stuff!
Thank You Friend!
The bolt carrier wasn't even going all the way back to the rear trunnion, no wonder it felt much better.
I don't show it but the rear trunnion has shifted back a bit over time from the excess gas and the bolt beating the crap out of it.
Baby Face P that’s why i put a buffer on it
I hope one of these will fit WBP Mini Jack
What was the size of that second drill bit at 2:29?
I quite like that OKP-7 you have there. Did you order it from Russia? If so, how long did to take to get it?
Video will be live next week. Ordered directly from priceli.narod.ru (sent him an email). Took right at 5 months to get delivered. Just came in last week so it's still super new to me.
What size piston do I need for a Zastava M70 and Arsenal Sam-7SF?
great stuff. thanks
Is this something I should install myself if possible? I'm sure I can I was just curious if there's a way I can mess it up or make my gun unsafe? Also there's only a hole on 1 side. When I drill the rivet out should I just drill all the way through?
Cant really screw it up
Have you tried this on your tantal yet? I have one and wanted to install one on mine. It's a century build and I wanted to tune it.
I would email KNS and ask which would work on the Tantal. They make quite a few of these.
Very cool thanks
what size drill bits did you use and about how deep? My removal is NOT going as easy :(
No specific side, just large enough to remove the head of the rivet then punch it through.
I cant figure out what one to get for my zastava npap df
I'm not worried about the handling, I'm just trying to get my RPK to cycle at all.
Would it have not been easier to show recoil with original piston before installing KNS piston?
I forgot the original at home that day..
What kind of spring was it you bought?
The pre-Drilled roll pin holes in the K&S piston do not align with the pre-drilled holes in the bolt carrier on mine and he suggestions?
Don't snug it down all of the way. Unscrew the piston until you get the holes to line up. The looseness won't hurt anything.
As I understand it you need the flex for it to cycle
Are you starting with it fully open then gradually closing off the gas? Basically having it right above where it fails to operate?
Opposite, fully closed then open it until it fails, then close it back slightly
jesus..that flinch
What size drill bit so you use??
I have a PSA Gen 3 14.7 barrel, what version piston do I need to get ? Small or large bore ? Need help. Thanks
Agp-a-10 part number
So what size drill bit should i use?
Ordered mine from Robski so it should be here soon. it will be going in my German girl. Stupid excited to install it an run I 😁
What spring did you change
Pew pew 🤣 is the best part
Probs a dumb question but do you still
out both sides to expose the rivet then punch it out? Just kinda confused
You can just drill the head off of one side then knock it out from that same side.
I’m interested but not seeing the Zpap m70 on these sizing charts. Am I missing something, I definitely want to be sure. Great video btw, thanks for your time on this.
did u get a KNS adjustable gas piston for your zpap m70? I'm getting one soon. wondering which one u bought. which size. I'm going to buy a digital caliper next weekend and measure for it. take care
@@bretaschleman8289 for zpap m70 you want the AGP-A-20L
@@jd646 Ty. Already have it installed. Works great.
Pew pew pew. Good stuff
Has anyone else had an issue with their rifle being under gassed after installing one of yhesr pistons?
What were the results of the algorithm test?
My KNS has piston came with 3 roll pins, do you need to only use one for installation?
The one that's the most snug.
Where does the extra gas go? If I’m envisioning this right with the piston fully closed all the gas hits the piston head, forcing the piston back the hardest as you open the adjustable head. It allows some of the gas to bypass the piston and go where though, just more gas in the gas tube.? I guess in reality all the gas goes down the gas tube regardless whether it’s in front of the piston head or allowed to pass through the piston head slightly I think I may have answered my own question. I’m just curious though someone else explain it to me in the same terms if you understand what I’m asking. The reason for the question is, I’m trying to predict. Is this going to make the gas tube or the piston run cleaner the same or dirtier?😊
My gas piston has nothing to drill out or pins how do i keep it installed
There are different pistons depending on which series akm you have. Akou has a chart in his online store. That's where i purchased mine www.akoperatorsunion4774.com or www.akou4774.com
Where did you get okp7
Where did ya get the round block you used to hammer on
amzn.to/3j4Jj6i
You should have your videos release later in the morning or afternoon. Super early means it’s going to get buried by the time people wake up. Especially since the new video alerts are so random.
I'll try moving it to later in the morning
Where'd you get that optic that was on the work bench
ua-cam.com/video/-7v0WNLHu7U/v-deo.html&lc=UgzQ_XUa_x3Dxu-Datd4AaABAg.9D4QvcodJYl9D5P9x7pLWr
I drilled out one side on mine. Whacked it with a punch and hammer didnt budge, had to flip it around and drill the head off the other side (yugo) to get mine out.
Good to know, mine is in the mail right now. How do you like it on the yugo so far? I have a zpap myself
Yeah am about the hit the other side on mine this thing is not going as easy as I see for other people. The new hole I have on my carrier is looking massive and the pin hasnt moved one damn bit after some good licks with the punch
@@worgasm the pin on mine was made of such ridiculously hard steel that I had to take it to a gunsmith. They broke their drill bit getting through it. After the pin was out everything else went smoothly though.
@@Matthew-np9fk Yeah I finally got mine. I was finally able to make out the outline of the rivet on the other side and started a new hole on the opposite side. It came right out, but only after I drilled what seemed to be halfway through on the side I started out on. 1/8 drill bit should get it done for any of you out there as long as you get dead center of the rivet on both sides.
@@worgasm are you running a zpap? Curious as to how you got through any of the steel.
My gas piston has zero holes topunch or drill to drill out how do i put this on my psl 54r
There are certain pistons forcertain series akm. When buying online there should be a chart for which piston goes with which pew
It may be like my Vepr 54 where they are actually pinched on .. sort of like how they stake the gas tube on an AR
In my mind it goes from thunk-thunk to tink-thunk
How’d you manage to find and get an okp-7/77? I’ve been trying to find one since 2019 and no luck
Ordered directly from the manufacturer. ua-cam.com/video/-7v0WNLHu7U/v-deo.html
@@BabyFaceP I’ve been periodically emailing him since 2019, directly from the manufactures website and never received a response. Did you have to use Google translate when emailing him?
You didn't say if you're kns piston has a large bore or small bore hole size
large bore.
Is there a noticeable weight difference between the original piston and the kns piston?
Nope
@@BabyFaceP Thanks... my Hungarian parts kit is hurling cases like 20'. Looking at one of these but really don't want to add weight to the rifle.
Uhg, i want the piston but that install gives me anxiety
You have an AKMN side rail.
Thumb up for the "pew pew pew".
Do you just drill one side and then punch it through?
Yes
You seriously not going to even mention that OKP-7 sight?
Lemme know if you wanna sell it lol.
Luckily I did a whole review-ua-cam.com/video/-7v0WNLHu7U/v-deo.html
I had a wasr 10 that was a perfectly gassed rifle…. Just kissed the rear trunnion. Waiting for the wasr hate
I am not an adjustable gas guy for a self defense rifle. Different ammunition can affect the cycling dramatically.
Over gassed is an acceptable hassle for me.
Do people still hate on the wasr? There's nothing wrong with a wasr.
@@Cherokie89
I don’t see the hate lately, the century canted sight guns really hurt the wasr image. They certainly aren’t pretty guns , but their functionality is generally very good.
What material drill bit are you using ? Titanium? Carbide?
I think they were cobalt from tractor supply. Carbide would be better but way more expensive.
@@BabyFaceP ok I couldn’t wait for the reply so I went ahead and used titanium. Worked out fine 👌🏻
You don't want drill that fast on steel, you're supposed to go slow with high pressure
quick way to ruin your bits, learned that the hard way at work
Any idea which one fits a psa ak103??
Should be the basic AKM one- alnk.to/58jn9C0
Thank you
It’s frustrating how easy all the videos make this install to be. It’s not easy at all.
How long do you have to wait to find out if the video has been de-monetized? Another channel I subscribe to puts a 'we-are-compliant' statement at the top of all their videos. Don't know if that works or not.
BUT:
(P)lease (A)lways (T)ake (R)evenue (E)arly, (O)ften, & (N)ow.
I might find a better way to emphasize the importance of that. If so, I'll include it in the comments...
It takes like 20 minutes after I upload a video to find out if ads are turned on.
@@BabyFaceP So, did saying "pewpewpew" work? is this vid paying?
@@patpatterson12 ...nope
7:08 ooohh be careful with that safety without the dust cover... if you have a certain style of saftey, i think the full auto version, you can drop the hammer and discharge the rifle by pulling it up like that. which would have been fun without the recoil spring installed
I corrected this safety. You can see the process in the AKT install video.
@@BabyFaceP ok awesome, just making sure
Certainly will save the abuse on the rear of the bolt carrier and the overall weapon.
