I talked my husband into trying this fix when he wanted to call a repairman. After I insisted on showing him this video, he managed to identify the faulty secondary door switch and even got the thing to work again. We have a new one ordered (less than $5 on Amazon), and our microwave now stays off when the door is opened. More importantly, it was a huge ego boost that we were able to get the job done ourselves. Thanks a million!
Microwaves seem to be usually pretty cheap to replace these days. I know there are always more expensive models though. For me, it seems a lot safer and easier to just get a new microwave.
5 years later.... You made my day!! Your instructions were perfect for my old Samsung microwave. I ordered two new replacements and was able to "fix" the old switch to get me through till the replacements get here. THANK YOU!
I ordered this switch online for $8 and just changed it out myself. Very simple if you follow these instructions and just saved over $100 for service call and labor. Thank You...
this is the second issue i have had to fix on my less than a year old Toshiba . Toshiba communicated well with me lots of emails etc.. they said they were sending refund. several months later I have not received refund. So THANK YOU for the quiet, detailed, and great instructional video. I'm a single female 72 and appreciate your help.
I went first to a parts site to buy the switch, but was a little afraid when I saw warnings on videos saying that capacitors retain energy and that I could seriously injure myself if I worked on the internal parts of the oven. Then I found this video - and, as luck would have it, the video demonstrates the EXACT MODEL OF MICROWAVE that I have! I followed the instructions and - bingo! No more fan running with the door open. Thank you!
I was a TV and appliance service man back in the 60,s but had no idea how to take apart our Samsung microwave until I found your video . Would you believe I found 2 new very old microswitches in my junk box and installed one in the microwave and it works fine now . THANK YOU ! Bob
This video was so helpful to us! We have a KitchenAid microwave, so we had to do a couple of different things before finding the door switches: we removed the screws and trim around the microwave, and, removed the screws and stainless steel housing. Then we could remove the control panel and see the door switch assembly inside the unit and to the left of the control panel. KitchenAid is made by Whirlpool, and once we removed the faulty switch we could see the stamp on the switch and order the right replacement switch, using the model number of our microwave. After we replaced the switch and put it back together the microwave worked again. Bravo!
this guy is so clear and well spoken. You even opened the parts and showed the mechanical issue that was causing the failure. I am subscribing to your channel! Great Job!
I had an issue with my microwave and found this video while searching for DIY fixes on UA-cam. It was extremely helpful and informative-I was able to fix my microwave myself. Thanks for saving me some money!
BEST VIDEO EVER!! Excellent, easy to follow, and right on point!! When this happened to my microwave last night my husband had it fixed in about 10 minutes after watching this video. THANK YOU so much for posting this!
I viewed this video when my microwave did the same thing in 2021. Now I'm back because a switch broke again, and needed a refresher on how to solve it. This video is a godsend. NOTE: UNPLUG THE MICROWAVE FIRST BEFORE REPAIR!!!
I have a comment posted from a year or so ago, and today I had to replace yet another switch in the old microwave. I returned to this video, and it just made my day (again). The clarity, the step-by-step approach, and the kindness and supporting manner of the entire video is just wonderful. My wife still thinks I'm a DIY hero, and I am NOT telling her my secret to this success..... Thanks for this great video.
Thank you so much. Had this exact problem. Reached out to 4 handymen to fix. No one called me back, so I fixed it myself in 15 minutes. Hardest part was ordering the part.
Excellent video! I followed the instructions and successfully replaced a faculty door switch and now our microwave works as good as new. I'm not a natural DIY person, and your video was clear, accurate, and gave me confidence to tackle the task. Thank you!
I found my switches both tested good with an ohm meter but one had a distinct click and the other did not. I was skeptical but went ahead and ordered a couple replacements from Amazon. Much to my surprise the new switches solved the problem. I saved the one that still clicked for the next time. Thanks for a great video!
Thanks for this video! I had the exact same problem as you, and $9.95 and 20 minutes later, it's fixed. I wouldn't have called a repair man because of the cost, so the microwave would have just ended up in a landfill for such a simple problem. I appreciate people like you on the Internet!
+1 Great video. The side by side comparison of good and bad switches really helped. I was able to temporarily fix my current switch. Really having a hard time finding a replacement switch for my microwave.
Thanks for the great video. I was able to change out my faulty door switch with a new one in minutes. My wife was shocked I finished this during half time of the Patriots game.
So glad you posted this! My microwave has just started to go whacky and I do not want to buy a new one or add to the waste stream! My dad was always fixing everything in the house so I figured I could too. I don't have a micrometer and so am glad that you explained how to look for an alternate way to test the problem. Here's to simple and effective home repair!
We were completely convinced we needed a new microwave. Ours is an over the range, 14 yr old GE. I noticed about 5 days ago the fan was running with the door open. I found it odd and figured something was about to blow, but since the food was stil heating, I didn't care. That was until yesterday when the microwave stopped heating the food and the fan wouldn't run with the door closed. I was about to spend $500 on a new GE but decided to look up a fix (if there was one) on UA-cam. I searched and the first video I came across was yours. Your instructions were super easy to follow, especially for someone like me who is not a repair person at all especially when it comes to appliances. Thanks to you, I know what's wrong. I'm using the link you provided to buy a replacement for the one that doesn't "click" as shown in your video. Fingers crossed it does the trick, but I am quite confident it will! I can not thank you enough. Also, thanks for the tips about remembering which wires go where and to know things before taking them apart. I definitely would not have done that and would have been a very confused. I took pictures and videos of everything before I took it apart and after I did and as I did each step. I even recorded videos of what I was doing and what went where so when the part comes, I know how to put it back together correctly.
This video was Absolutely perfect!! We temporarily fixed the problem and ordered the new piece on Amazon! Glad I found this video and didn’t just order a new microwave!
Same here! This gentleman saved us over $500 by not just buying a new GE microwave. I was able to follow his instructions and quickly found what was wrong. We just ordered the replacement part and I am quite certain it's going to do the trick . I am so grateful for people like this gentleman who post things like this for free. Id gladly send him $50 bucks as my virtual repairman!
Hey Chuck! My husband (also named Chuck) and I wanted to thank you so much for this video! Our microwave was having this same problem. I was about to buy a new one but thought I’d check out UA-cam to see what I could find. Your video came up first. We took ours apart, ordered the switch, three days later...BAM! Microwave works like new. Spending $5.50 over $200+ never felt so good. Thank you so much!!!
Hi Kara, your husband has a great name, BTW! LOL We are glad you found the video useful and got your microwave fix. It has amazed us how many people have had this type of problem with their microwave. 😀
I didn't end up having to replace anything or repair anything. I just had to mash on the switches a few times and reassemble. They all had the click. But now I know what's happening thanks to your video. Great help. Thank you.
This might be one of the best DIY videos I've ever watched! We had the exact same problem and had no idea how to fix it! Now we're good to go! Thank you!!
Perfect! I experienced this very problem with my Toshiba microwave this morning. Clear and comprehensive solution. Microwave is working again and parts are on the way. Thank you!
I thought I might be buying a new microwave, but decided to check "the internet" first! Thank you for taking the time to show us this; it gave me confidence to try. I am lucky to have appliance parts available nearby, so although I was able to fix the switch to very the problem, I bought a new switch, cleaned the whole unit and it is like a new microwave. Just thank you sir!
Thank you for this video. I have a GE microwave that had the exact same symptoms as the microwave in the video. I was able to fix my micro for 4 dollars, with a part I bought on Amazon, when GE was going to charge me 90 dollars for the service call and a hourly wage for the repair. I am so glad that I found this video. Thanks again.
Wow...I had my doubts that the problem could be related to the door switch, but decided I'd check. Everything on my GE microwave was exactly the same as you described. Even the configuration of the three switches. I found a replacement switch down at my local appliance parts company and had it working again in short order. Saved me $300 or so. Thank you!!!
I'm grateful I found you Chuck. I have a 12 year old LG microwave oven and I can hear the fan go on when opening the door. Never happened in all the years I've had it. So, I have high hopes this is an easy fix. Thankyou.
Hi There, I want to thank you for this video. Followed your directions and replaced a faulty switch. This fixed the issue, and now I don't have to purchase a new unit. Thanks!!
Hey WeRmudfun. I want to thank you for making this detailed video on taking not only the torque screw out but also what was wrong inside the switch. It has saved me a ton of time trying to figure it out! Thank you!!
Thanks for making the video! I thought I was going to have to buy a new microwave but after watching this, I was able to find the problem, make a temporarily fix, and just ordered a new switch! Thanks!!
I just had this problem with my microwave. Followed this video to troubleshoot and then ordered the part and replaced. After putting it back together, it worked as advertised. Thanks for this video.
Huge help, thank you. While my issue turned out to be the inside plastic activator needing to be re-seated (my teenage son slams the door like it cheated on him) this video definitely directed me to right process.
Awesome video, thank you very much for making and sharing it! This was such a easy step by step video to follow and helped me save $170 service call from an appliance repair person
Amazing video showing step by step exactly how to fix my problem. Also great that you put the amazon link as well. Was able to fix my microwave quickly and for $4.50 instead of hundreds. Thanks for the video!
My microwave started doing this last week. I followed all the instructions on this video and, sure enough, there was a faulty switch. Ordered on Amazon (via the link) on Saturday. Switch arrived on Sunday. Fitted it in 10 mins and microwave runs perfectly. Thanks for a great video. 🙂
Such a well-done video giving the broken-down, microwaveless person inspiration to try and fix it himself or herself. I DID IT! All thanks to you..appreciate so much your sharing this info.
Hi another Chuck here. I had replaced a faulty switch before, and two years later like you it was bad (bottom one too). This comes from kids slamming the microwave door. Alas. Thank you for showing removal of the switch housing - Torx screws. You can use a just-right Allen wrench too. I had broken two of the retaining clips when removing the switches and had to tack superglue at the edges. This will be a pain next time but it worked. As you mentioned one can use a beeping ohmmeter to see the switch short when the button is held down.
Thanks for the clear 'how-to' directions and for not racing through it so quickly. Mine is a Maytag, but the steps you describe for accessing the switches was almost identical. Have located the bad switch and put it all back together again while waiting for my Amazon delivery. Because of your DIY video, I'm well equipped to install the new switch once it arrives. Thanks a million!!! Good stuff!
Thank you for sharing my wife’s wife’s microwave will be running fine it was broken just like you said I watched your video and I repaired it thank you very much you get a like!!
I came here looking for how to do this, because my microwave is having the exact same problem. This gives the perfect step-by-step for how to fix this kind of thing. Thank you
Thanks a MILLION for this video! I searched so long for the answer to my dead Maytag microwave since I felt it had to be something small since everything else still worked (fan, light, etc.) and it wasn't even that old despite everyone constantly telling me to "just buy a new one" (without offering to pay for it or install it of course - Lol). Anyway, I did exactly what you showed (very well and easy to understand) in your video and even replaced the same door switch since I wasn't quite sure (the very bottom one) and now it is working perfectly again after a YEAR of sitting dead above my stove...
I thought this was wonderful diagnosis of the problem. You made it very simple and was able to determine which switch was bad. Couldn’t get the connector off the switch! Ugh. To have gotten so far. I’ve looked at many other videos. All seem like it should just slide right off. Don’t know if LG put some type of lock on it. Thank you though for the clear easy directions.
Thank you. We are surprised to hear that the wire wouldn't come off the switch. It is the first time we have heard that. We hope you get it figured out. 😀
Was 100% the fix I needed. I was going to remove the whole microwave and buy a new one so you just saved us a bundle. And.... I'm a girl and was able to do it!!! My husband asked me if he needed to buy me a truck with my name on it. lol Thank you!!!!
A microwave never made the "I can't with without..." list, until now. 😄 Thanks for the video! My Frigidaire also ran with the door open. But within a few days, wouldn't start but the timer counted down as if it had. It wasn't difficult to replace the switch. Associated Parts & Supply is local & had part available w/tax, under $6.
Thank you for posting this great instructional video! I had the same issue (microwave NOT shutting off) and My Samsung had the exact same switch issue (lowest one was bad). I ordered the new switch and replace=ing it was not hard BECAUSE of your video! Gary in Missouri.
Very helpful tutorial Usually, this is harmless because no heat is being produced, it is just the fan but, if heat comes out with the door open, it isn't that dangerous to humans but can damage electronics.
MY LG microwave started doing this today and I thought I would have to trash it. Now at least I know it can be repaired, although I may look for a repair shop. Many thanks
I just needed your video. My samsung has the same problem and I was looking all around, then.....I found you. Good video, easy fixing. I will do it tomorrow. I am glad you exist. Go on helping people with your work. Very greatful ! Ramon Perera, Miami.
Thank you so much! Your directions were so clear (unlike other videos) and my husband was able to repair thanks to you. It was easy peasy with your help and saved us tons of money!!!
Worked perfectly as shown in the video! My switch was exactly the same as the one in the video - the third/bottom-most switch was bad. Replaced it within ten minutes and microwave works like a charm! Thanks for such a great video!
Thanks for the great video. I had the same problem on my Samsung SMH1816W Microwave. I saved $100+ repair cost with a $5 part from Amazon. I fixed the problem in about 20 minutes (age 81).
Thank you SO much! This video was extremely helpful! Our microwave started running when we opened the door, but we can't get a new one until late next week, so this temporary fix is perfect!
Thanks for the information. Laundry washer and dryer have similar door switches. They don't go bad easily because they are used not as often as a microwave. My 10-year old microwave is on its second replacement door switch. Its temperature limit sensor was replaced once in 10 years.
Just had the same thing happen to my Samsung microwave. Thanks for posting simple, money saving fix. Just like your RV vids, simple and straight to the point!
Thank you! I was unable to reassemble the switch after straightening the tension piece so I bent it back into an arch, reassembled and straightened it while in the assembly
Just finished up this project. An excellent video! At first, the microwave demonstrated the open-door-fan issue, but later failed to heat. The repair on a GE model JVM6175DF1WW tracked closely to the Samsung in the source video. Minor variation was that the control panel is attached by two screws - one of which is in plain sight, but the other must be removed from the top of the control panel down through the vent. Only one switch turned out to be bad - the FD-63 which was located lowest in the switch bracket. Thanks a bunch for the help!
AWESOME!! Great video. My microwave is a GE SpaceSaver, but all the same components. I was able to take it apart as instructed within 10 minutes. I could easily tell the top two switches were fine... So I took the bottom switch off, opened the small blue switch box, cleaned it a bit and it started working again. All fixed. I still plan on ordering a switch to have on hand. But where can I venmo you some money? Your video was worth a few bucks for sure!! THANK YOU!!
Thank you so much for this informational video. It helped me fix our microwave. A pack of 2 switches was less than $9.00. This was well worth the effort for someone who is NOT handy like myself.
Great Video. I had the same problem and replaced all 3 switches. The bottom one failed and I opened it up and it was full of grease and it was burned. I opened the middle and upper switches and the points were only slightly burned so I disassembly both and used emery paper on a flat surface to remove the pits. I will save these as serviceable switches. I believe the failure occurred on the bottom switch because it had excessive grease in it . The other two were almost dry. :)
@@WeRmudfun I was very lucky when I was 16; I worked with an appliance repairman 50 years ago. He used to take apart washer timers and showed me how to clean the points and bend the internals to get clean flat parallel surfaces. All analog mechanical thermostats, timers and switches have these points that burn over time. Later I got my mechanical engineering degree from Virginia Tech but that has nothing to do with mechanical aptitude which I always tell people. Cheers!
Chuck - your tip about fixing the switch itself was AWESOME. Did that & reinstalled just to make sure that was our issue. It was. Have ordered 2 replacement switches, just in case. Yay for a microwave that works!
THANKYOU so much!!!! I really appreciate your thorough instructions and photos of exactly what I needed to succeed at this repair. PERFECT !! Thanks man!!
This was exactly the solution to our microwave problems! Thank you! You did a great job of walking through the process, giving a clear view of all of the pieces and steps, and doing it all in the real kitchen - it was really smooth for us to follow along during our own repairs and pause/unpause your video along the way! Even the tiny stuff like showing where to pull back on the plastic locks to get the switches out was helpful. Thank you all once again!
Thank you for the help. Turned out all my switches were good but the switch holder was not holding the bottom switch properly. You instructions were good enough for me to easily figure out the problem with my GE, model XL1800 microwave. I'm subscribed for sure!
Just ran into this issue w/ my GE microwave and this helped a lot! I especially appreciate you going through taking apart the switch. I was able to take mine apart and get it clicking again while I'm waiting for the new switch to come in. Thanks!
Thank you. Great video. Easy to follow directions, clear, concise, and right to the point. I was about to buy a new microwave until I saw your video. Everything is exactly as you described. Good switches clicked and the bad one didn't. Took the bad one out and the new part will be here on Monday.

@@WeRmudfun got it apart and found bad switch - switch ordered from you link, btw
@@jed1947 Thanks, glad you figured it out.
Thank you so much!!!! I was able to fix my microwave and saved almost $300 on a new one!!! Thank you a million times!!!!!!
You are welcome. We are glad you found the video useful! 😀
You are welcome.
I'm grateful I found you Chuck. I have a 12 year old LG microwave oven and I can hear the fan go on when opening the door. Never happened in all the years I've had it. So, I have high hopes this is an easy fix. Thankyou.
You are welcome, we hope it works for you. Remember we are not professional techs. 😀
Hi There, I want to thank you for this video. Followed your directions and replaced a faulty switch. This fixed the issue, and now I don't have to purchase a new unit. Thanks!!
Glad it helped 😊
Hey WeRmudfun. I want to thank you for making this detailed video on taking not only the torque screw out but also what was wrong inside the switch. It has saved me a ton of time trying to figure it out! Thank you!!
You are welcome Jeremy. We are glad you found it useful. 😀
Thanks for making the video! I thought I was going to have to buy a new microwave but after watching this, I was able to find the problem, make a temporarily fix, and just ordered a new switch! Thanks!!
You are welcome. We are glad you don't have to buy a new microwave. 😀
I just had this problem with my microwave. Followed this video to troubleshoot and then ordered the part and replaced. After putting it back together, it worked as advertised. Thanks for this video.
We are glad you found the video useful. 😀
Huge help, thank you. While my issue turned out to be the inside plastic activator needing to be re-seated (my teenage son slams the door like it cheated on him) this video definitely directed me to right process.
Glad you got it fixed. This gave us a laugh this morning. LOL
😂
Awesome video, thank you very much for making and sharing it! This was such a easy step by step video to follow and helped me save $170 service call from an appliance repair person
You are welcome. We accept tips. LOL
Huge help, simple to follow, and grateful you don’t drag it out for a long time. Thank you!!
You are welcome, Janet! Glad it helped! 😀
Amazing video showing step by step exactly how to fix my problem. Also great that you put the amazon link as well. Was able to fix my microwave quickly and for $4.50 instead of hundreds. Thanks for the video!
Congrats on fixing your microwave. We are glad you were able to find the video helpful. 😀
Three years after uploading, your video is still saving hapless homeowners like me from unnecessarily buying a new microwave. Thank you so much!
You are welcome Dr Kate. We bought a new home and after 3 month the microwave went on us, so we changed the switches in this one too. LOL
Thank You! Glad it worked for you!😃
Can please tell me the name of the switch
Such a well-done video giving the broken-down, microwaveless person inspiration to try and fix it himself or herself. I DID IT! All thanks to you..appreciate so much your sharing this info.
You are welcome. We are glad you got your microwave fixed. 😀
HI. We had heard that the switch go bad due to the door being slammed. I hate to think of all the microwaves that got replaced for about a $5.00 fix.
Good stuff!
You are welcome. Good Luck. 😀
Thanks a lot for your video, man. It was very helpful and replacing the switch
seemed to solve the problem.
Glad it helped.
Greatest how-to video ever to hit UA-cam. I'm serious.
Wow, Thanks so much for your comment! 😀
Thank you for sharing my wife’s wife’s microwave will be running fine it was broken just like you said I watched your video and I repaired it thank you very much you get a like!!
Glad you got the microwave fixed. 🙂
I came here looking for how to do this, because my microwave is having the exact same problem. This gives the perfect step-by-step for how to fix this kind of thing. Thank you
You are welcome. 😃
Thank you so much for posting. Easy to follow video that made the repair a breeze!
Glad it helped.
I watched your video and decided to try the temporary fix until I get new switches. It worked!! Thank you.
Glad it helped 😀
Thanks a MILLION for this video! I searched so long for the answer to my dead Maytag microwave since I felt it had to be something small since everything else still worked (fan, light, etc.) and it wasn't even that old despite everyone constantly telling me to "just buy a new one" (without offering to pay for it or install it of course - Lol). Anyway, I did exactly what you showed (very well and easy to understand) in your video and even replaced the same door switch since I wasn't quite sure (the very bottom one) and now it is working perfectly again after a YEAR of sitting dead above my stove...
You're welcome Holly! Glad you got your microwave fixed! 😀
You just saved us so much money. Video was great and my husband and I completed the repair just as you demonstrated. Thank you!
You are welcome! 😀
You are the very best that UA-cam has to offer. Thank you for a great DIY tutorial.
Thank you! 😃
Got it running until I get the part. Your pictures of the switch were very helpful getting it back together. Thankyou.
Glad it helped
Was 100% the fix I needed. I was going to remove the whole microwave and buy a new one so you just saved us a bundle. And.... I'm a girl and was able to do it!!! My husband asked me if he needed to buy me a truck with my name on it. lol Thank you!!!!
Excellent! Thanks for the comment, it made us laugh. Cheryl says you go, Girl!
That is awesome!
Thank you for posting this great instructional video! I had the same issue (microwave NOT shutting off) and My Samsung had the exact same switch issue (lowest one was bad). I ordered the new switch and replace=ing it was not hard BECAUSE of your video! Gary in Missouri.
Hi Gary. We are happy you found the video helpful.
Very helpful tutorial
Usually, this is harmless because no heat is being produced, it is just the fan but, if heat comes out with the door open, it isn't that dangerous to humans but can damage electronics.
Thanks for your input. 😀
MY LG microwave started doing this today and I thought I would have to trash it. Now at least I know it can be repaired, although I may look for a repair shop. Many thanks
Good luck. 😀
I just needed your video. My samsung has the same problem and I was looking all around, then.....I found you. Good video, easy fixing. I will do it tomorrow. I am glad you exist. Go on helping people with your work. Very greatful ! Ramon Perera, Miami.
Thanks Ramon. Be careful and good luck! 😀
Thanks for the tip and the links, I fixed my microwave for 7.50 with a part to spare😊
You are welcome. Glad you got your microwave repaired.
Thank you so much! Your directions were so clear (unlike other videos) and my husband was able to repair thanks to you. It was easy peasy with your help and saved us tons of money!!!
Glad it helped! 😀
Did exactly what you showed. Now back to normal! No morr rushing food in and out of the microwave quickly! Thank you!!
We aer glad you got your microwave working again. 😃
Thank you for posting this video. I just repaired my microwave and I am sure I saved myself $$$$. Awesome! Video.
You are welcome. We are glad you found the video helpful. 😀
Thanks! I temporarily fixed the faulty switch and ordered a new one! Great video!
You're welcome! 😀
Best video ever! So clear, illustrative and concise. Thanks so much!
You are so welcome! Thank you for your comment. 😃
Worked perfectly as shown in the video! My switch was exactly the same as the one in the video - the third/bottom-most switch was bad. Replaced it within ten minutes and microwave works like a charm! Thanks for such a great video!
Glad it helped! 😀
Thanks you so much! Fantastic explanation!! It worked 🎉
You are welcome, Lynn! Glad you got your microwave fixed. Thanks so much for the THANKS too. We really appreciate it. 😀
Thanks for the great video. I had the same problem on my Samsung SMH1816W Microwave. I saved $100+ repair cost with a $5 part from Amazon. I fixed the problem in about 20 minutes (age 81).
Nice. You Rock!!! We are glad you got it fixed. 😃
Thank you SO much! This video was extremely helpful! Our microwave started running when we opened the door, but we can't get a new one until late next week, so this temporary fix is perfect!
You're welcome! We are glad you found it helpful! 😀
Thanks for the information. Laundry washer and dryer have similar door switches. They don't go bad easily because they are used not as often as a microwave. My 10-year old microwave is on its second replacement door switch. Its temperature limit sensor was replaced once in 10 years.
Interesting info, thanks.
Just had the same thing happen to my Samsung microwave. Thanks for posting simple, money saving fix. Just like your RV vids, simple and straight to the point!
You are welcome and thank you for following both channels Micheal!😀
Thank you! I was unable to reassemble the switch after straightening the tension piece so I bent it back into an arch, reassembled and straightened it while in the assembly
You are welcome. Glad you got your microwave fixed.
Congrats. We are glad you found the video useful. It is amazing how many microwaves have a problem with those switches. 😀
THANK YOU!!
We got your email too. We are glad you got your microwave to start working again.😀
Thank you so much for this informational video. It helped me fix our microwave. A pack of 2 switches was less than $9.00. This was well worth the effort for someone who is NOT handy like myself.
Excellent!
Thanks a lot for the video. I was able to get the part out and fix it so it would click. I am going to order another switch though.
You are welcome. 😀
Awesome video! The fact that I was able to actually fix my Samsung microwave is surely a credit to your mighty powers of instruction 😁
LOL We are glad you found the video helpful. 😀
Thanks Mike! It's sound like you tackle problems the same way we do when it comes to fixing them. Nice Job.
Cheers!
If your wife doesn't find you handsome, she should at least find you handy.😊 Good video. Well explained. Right to the point.
Thanks Scott! 😀
Chuck - your tip about fixing the switch itself was AWESOME. Did that & reinstalled just to make sure that was our issue. It was. Have ordered 2 replacement switches, just in case. Yay for a microwave that works!
Glad you got your microwave fixed.
Thank you so much, you saved my microwave oven from going to the trash and saved me money.
We are glad you were able to fix your microwave. 😀
Great video! You helped me fix my Hamilton Beach microwave. The worst part was trying to get the screws off the back. Took forever for them to budge!
THANKYOU so much!!!! I really appreciate your thorough instructions and photos of exactly what I needed to succeed at this repair. PERFECT !! Thanks man!!
We are happy you fixed your microwave.
BOOM! Thanks to you!! Saved me hundreds of dollars!! Great job !! Thanks
Thanks Chris! We are glad you got your microwave fixed. 😀
Chuck for President! Thanks! Worked like a charm.
Lol, but I'm happy doing what I do now, no time to run the country. Glad you got it fixed. 😀
P.S. tell your wife she did a freeking great job videoing everything perfectly!!!!
Will do Harry! 😀
Thank you for the help. Turned out all my switches were good but the switch holder was not holding the bottom switch properly. You instructions were good enough for me to easily figure out the problem with my GE, model XL1800 microwave. I'm subscribed for sure!
We are glad you were able to fix your microwave. 😀
Thank you! An appliance store in my town sells generic switches for $10. Worked great and saved time over Amazon.
Glad it helped! 😀
Thank you for this video. I had a GE on the fritz and this video helped save me a ton.
Glad it helped!
Thanks for the excellent video; I ordered the switch and were back in business for short money!
Glad it could help! 😃
Just ran into this issue w/ my GE microwave and this helped a lot! I especially appreciate you going through taking apart the switch. I was able to take mine apart and get it clicking again while I'm waiting for the new switch to come in. Thanks!
Glad it helped! 😀
Thank you. Great video. Easy to follow directions, clear, concise, and right to the point. I was about to buy a new microwave until I saw your video. Everything is exactly as you described. Good switches clicked and the bad one didn't. Took the bad one out and the new part will be here on Monday.
Glad it was helpful! 😀
