This man isn't singing for us; he is singing for himself. We are watching him conduct his own therapy, take his medicine, and heal himself through his music. He is truly pouring his heart out and giving it to us. Wow. Amazing. The talent and the passion. I feel everything that he is feeling. Truly amazing. ❤
10 years ago incarcerated in prison in Texas I heard these guys on some late night red dirt country radio station, stuck with me this whole time, come back constantly to keep my sanity , still free from prison, Thank you!
I'm in London on run just released recalled me same day. M fks. F em got shrinks trying help. We stay strong buddy. Its cold it's hard stopped money but I'm smiling 😅
This song reminds me of what my life was before i got sober back on April 4th 2016. I fell in love with a girl in the depths of my addiction. I got sober, and she didn't. Even after getting sober she would pop in and out of my life, and I'd want to help her get clean but she wasn't ready. Today she has almost 6 months clean and I still feel the same love for her now. I got sober because I was truly tired of the life i once lived. The Bible says to pray with out ceasing and I know through personal experience that God does answer prayers. May not be the way we want it but he does answer. God is good!
Covered this song a lot while busking and hitch hiking around California. I was homeless and a had bad drinking problem. Sober and sleep in a bed now. This song will always bring up memories, beautiful and painful. I'll never stop covering it. ❤️
My friend lost her fight to the cancer. We shared our favorite songs with each other. This was her favorite. Thank you guy's. You will keep her alive for me......
what a bittersweet memory of your loved one! I was lucky enuf to see them at Soldier Field with the Stones in ‘18 then a month later in my hometown of Flint MI @ the Machine Shop!
Eventually one of those tears will be a fond memory, but just one. Time heals but it leaves nasty scars. To keep loving in the face of tragedy is the ultimate show strength. If you figure it out, holler.
I am 100% Scottish and live in Texas now, I heard these boys through Yellowstone. I want to now go see them live this year. Honestly they are outstanding and this folk music is what we have lost over the past 50 years but not to worry I found it again. This is heart felt soul music.
They have a gig in their hometown of Palestine at the end of September, which I imagine will be awesome (went to the one at RedRocks.... all worth it and great crowd).
His voice sounds like it's on the verge of breaking, but he keeps fighting through it... It's amazing to listen to. Really shows the love these artists have for their craft.
Mind. Blown. I’m just now discovering this band. I wish I could share this with my Dad...he would be blown away by the raw talent. If there’s one thing my Papa taught me it was the appreciation of a true artist.

I just took my son to see them live tonight at the Fillmore in Silver Springs. His 18th birthday gift. They are such an underrated band! Amazing vocals and well rounded band. Hands down one of the best concerts I've ever been to and now it's currently 1am and I'm back home still listening to their music. Good times and great memories 🤘🏼🤙🏼✌🏼
My Sister just today about Whiskey Meyers and I am so happy she did. She and her husband climb a mountain to see them. She said they worth every step they took. True life song's hits hearts of many people people!! Thank you!!
I wanted to go see them in Santa Rosa, CA. but the cheapest seats were almost $200, so ya think he's getting attention, lol. I'm new to this band, I heard them on Pandora, now I have everything I can get. He's got an amazing voice and his voicing is perfect...
This is the only version of this song I will listen to. He puts so much soul into singing this song at that moment I wouldn't wanna hear it another way.
My wife died fast and there was nothing I could do to stop it,Her peace through this was she told me she's ok,, That she was loved so much and thats all that matters...I was the last thing she saw when she closed her eyes..I can only hope it was enough
I am a artist and I struggle with mental health issues Never knew just how much this man’s lyrics live and breathe vicariously through me. Beautifully written and masterfully performed. I would very much like to meet this young man.
This song has gotten me thru some really rough patches after losing both parents a year apart. One with Alzheimer's and one within a month of finding out they had cancer. Thank you for putting my thoughts into words. God Bless 🙏
This song hits a little different since my wife left. Coming to that realization every night while everyone else sleeps is one of the hardest things I've ever had to repeat night after night after night. I've forgotten what a good night of sleep feels like

You know when I see him or hear him sing and play his music just speaks to me so much and his lyrics touch my heart I am a person who suffers from a lot of depression. Mostly from my past and my own doings but I try to keep pushing forward everyday my days are struggle I want to hear is music it makes me feel that I'm not the only one so keep thinking about them keep writing those songs and keep touching people hearts. Rock on bro.!
Song carried me through divorce, depression and now it's carrying me through losing my Job. Listening to it every moring every time reminds me on the fact, that this is life. You can't change it and he can't run from it. Sometimes you just take a hit. Get up and continue. Also playing this song when I'm making street music. It's the song, most people asking me where it's from. Greetings from Germany

The perfect version of a perfect song if I have ever know .....wow...Whiskey Myers all my love and respect to your perfect design of emotion and truth in your music.
Myers is so good man. I dig it. This guy Brett McDaniel is good too. ua-cam.com/video/nWpwnKcJzrY/v-deo.html I've listened to "Stone" maybe 300 times. ahahhah . So much talent out there.
My mom introduced me to whiskey myer just the other weekend on our visit. I hadn't seen my mom in 7 months and hadnt been home to her house in 2 years. she lives over 2 hours away, and we have young children and ny husband works 6 days a week. This man is amazing his voice gets me, this music and his voice is the country I grow up with, it grounds me and reminds me of home and my sweet momma.
Incredible voice, incredible song, incredible talent. I've had the pleasure of being from an area where this type of music is played by our local bands every weekend. I have played in bands many years and have yet to be disappointed with this guy. Just incredible heart
Im glad he tells himself to write a song or learn how to sing cause damn that’s to closest that guy will probably get to recognition for his heart and soul being poured out for everyone to see and hear .
Don’t ever stop writing songs that’s hard to sing. Your voice is one of a kind, and many enjoy your talents bro!! Reckoning, stone, and my all time favorite “a little more money”!!
I LOVE this band ! I think of them as a modern version of Skynyrd, amazing talented musicians, great songwriting, a perfect mix of blues, country, rock and southern rock.. I can’t wait to see them live some day .. and damn his voice is amazing
I'm ashamed of myself for taking this long to discover this amazing musician. What an absolute jewel this guy is. His songs hit home for me like so many others I'm sure.
'Well I guess I've got my bottle, I still hold it all the time. But it keeps me smilin and singing. Helps me fall asleep a little bit better at night.'. Ain't that the truth.. What a world. Existence is a hell of a thing.
I went to their concert and they are hands down the best musicians I have seen in my life!!!!!!! Out of this world talented the entire band. True masters of their craft.
Whiskey Meyers how have I never came across this beautiful song writer who plays the guitar while singing to the soul . I AM HAPPY MUSIC LOVER TONIGHT FINDIMG THIS .. TY
Ricky Rogers I hear yah I can’t either. I am trying to learn how to play a guitar. Well, we all can sing a little the question is would you ever sing in front of another human!🤣 This dudes got a great voice.
i wish i could find the right word to describe this song. “beautiful” somehow does not do it justice. new yorker born and raised and i absolutely LOVE this band and i LOVE my country music! God bless america! ❤❤❤🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Such a beautiful tune, love this one so much. My beloved parents both suffered from addiction so this one hits different. Asleep at peace forever in my heart.🙏🏽❤️🕊️
lyrics: The night is my prescription (companion) And the highway is my home Got me seeking for one last beacon Every single place I roam They say Jesus was a poor man I guess I wish I had a little more him in me Make it easier going on living Heart ache and misery Sweet, sweet heart of mine I'm going to break again a million times Or is this too far gone? Have you turned to stone? Well I guess I got my bottle I still hold it all the time But it keeps me smiling and singing Helps me fall asleep a little bit better at night They say life is like a dagger Backstage is full of parasites They love you and drain of everything you own Just to feel better about their life Sweet, sweet heart of mine I'm going to break again a million times Or is this too far gone? Or have you turned to stone? Sweet, sweet heart of mine I'm going to break again a million times Or is this too far gone? Sweet, Sweet love of mine I'm going to break again a million times Or is it too far gone? Have you turned to stone?
I am grateful to have just heard your music. It came in with an Arron Lewis feed. That compliment is why I listened to you. Honesty within the passion of your lyrics.. universal love✌️
Seen these guys 6 times in the past 4 years. Me and my buddy always meet up atleast once a year, grab a handle of whiskey, and go see the guys. My only complaint is not seeing them enough
My son plays guitar. My mom plays the accordion. I can sing. But somehow those three things don't produce the same sounds as this video. :) I have loved Whiskey Myers since about 10 years ago when I heard the album "Firewater". The first time I saw them live was in the basement of a BBQ joint on Capitol Hill in DC. They hadn't hit it big yet, and there were about one hundred people in the audience, and it was intimate enough that I got to chat with them during the break. The last time I saw them was at the Great Frederick Fair and they were playing for (I'm guessing) 5-6,000 fans. I'm glad others have found them! I think Yellowstone and SEAL Team have added many fans to their music. They are my favorite band of all time - and I am fortunate that they swing by my neck of the woods about once a year.
Just WoW he sang that song with more heart than I’ve heard in a long time I like the other songs of his I heard but this song made me feel a way I haven’t felt from a song in a long time and generally it doesn’t carry over to recording the same so I could only imagine how great this song would be to hear live
Music is subjective, although I've never understood people who feel a need to hit the dislike button. I love this song but just because I do doesn't mean everybody has to. It's one of the things I love about music. Just because it means something to me doesn't mean everybody feels it, and that's a two way street.
They must've had their phone upside down and hit the wrong button. Anyone who could possibly dislike this should have music banned from their lives cause they are whats wrong with todays music.
I agree. Myers is so good man. I dig it. This guy Brett McDaniel is good too. ua-cam.com/video/nWpwnKcJzrY/v-deo.html I've listened to "Stone" maybe 300 times. ahahhah . So much talent out there.
I just discovered these guys yesterday. After listening to this song on a loop for the last hour, I find myself getting angry. I know that there are a few places where country radio might play this song, but here in Southwestern PA, "country" stations wouldn't touch this with a 10-foot pole. They're too busy playing music that would be at home on any of the top 40 or hip-hop stations. It's such a shame that I have to rely on recommendations from iTunes, Amazon Music, and UA-cam to discover true artists like this.
I'm coming in late, but you might see if you can stream any Texas red dirt stations. Like The Ranch out of Dallas/Fort Worth or The Outlaw from Wichita Falls. They play this music and a whole lot of other good stuff.
I love listening to your acoustic versions ...your voice is just so amazing and unique. And the way you guys blend and change it up a little between the versions is just right thank you for sharing your music with the world
Better later then never , I discovered these guys today and they are now one of my fave bands ever .. amazing I can’t believe how many of their songs I love !
This man isn't singing for us; he is singing for himself. We are watching him conduct his own therapy, take his medicine, and heal himself through his music. Absolutely
Killer vocal!! Never heard of them til Yellowstone but it hooked me right in.
Found these guys watching Yellowstone.. can't get enough of their wonderful music!
I love how the accordion sounds like harmonica ❣️
Love cranking the mouth organ too this masterpiece!
I love acoustic sessions because, I feel, you can hear the soul more so. Great job y'all!!
Well put! I do too
This is such a timeless song. It'll forever be a part of my playlist💯 hats off fellas
Wow, I probably older than most of y'all, however this song , def touching part of my Stone heart! Thanks babe!😊
Stone heart 😂😂😂! I can definitely relate!👍
Whiskey Meyers how have I never came across this beautiful song writer who plays the guitar while singing to the soul . I AM HAPPY MUSIC LOVER TONIGHT FINDIMG THIS .. TY
This live performance is the best version of this song by far
Now this is what REAL MUSIC is...Love this song more than anything out there right now...means so much 2me.
Absolutely
He can obviously play a very nice guitar however his calling card is his voice and it’s a beauty! Great song! Great vocals!!
Absolutely
I only say that cuz I play guitar cuz I cant sing but I wanna sing really bad tho....
Ricky Rogers I hear yah I can’t either. I am trying to learn how to play a guitar. Well, we all can sing a little the question is would you ever sing in front of another human!🤣 This dudes got a great voice.
Is there anything Jon can't play? The man's crazy talented. Cody's lyrics always go straight to my soul.
He can play anything and eats pancakes..
Amazing. These dudes rip my heart out in the most amazing way. Love this.
I wish I had a little more Jesus in me!😎 You guys became my favorite gospel band of all time! Keep up the great work!
Absolutely beautiful...such a storytelling voice with so much pain
Perfectly stated
i wish i could find the right word to describe this song. “beautiful” somehow does not do it justice.
new yorker born and raised and i absolutely LOVE this band and i LOVE my country music! God bless america!
❤❤❤🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
I love how he's too drunk to talk but he can sing so beautifully. If there was ever a definition of art I think I just said it.
My Son turned me onto Whiskey Myers: Wow! Wonderful music, keep going strong.Thank you
My son did the same . 😊
Such a beautiful tune, love this one so much. My beloved parents both suffered from addiction so this one hits different. Asleep at peace forever in my heart.🙏🏽❤️🕊️
lyrics:
The night is my prescription (companion)
And the highway is my home
Got me seeking for one last beacon
Every single place I roam
They say Jesus was a poor man
I guess I wish I had a little more him in me
Make it easier going on living
Heart ache and misery
Sweet, sweet heart of mine I'm going to break again a million times
Or is this too far gone?
Have you turned to stone?
Well I guess I got my bottle
I still hold it all the time
But it keeps me smiling and singing
Helps me fall asleep a little bit better at night
They say life is like a dagger
Backstage is full of parasites
They love you and drain of everything you own
Just to feel better about their life
Sweet, sweet heart of mine I'm going to break again a million times
Or is this too far gone?
Or have you turned to stone?
Sweet, sweet heart of mine I'm going to break again a million times
Or is this too far gone?
Sweet, Sweet love of mine I'm going to break again a million times
Or is it too far gone?
Have you turned to stone?
Prescription/Companion... I see you you too have listened to this version and the original.. love Prescription 💯 times better
Greetings from Cronulla Beach Sydney Australia!!!
Love ❤️ this song and the lyrics are brilliant 👏
I love you Grace 🤩
those lyrics are just amazing
I am grateful to have just heard your music. It came in with an Arron Lewis feed. That compliment is why I listened to you. Honesty within the passion of your lyrics.. universal love✌️
I’m a Rocker from the 60-70’s & Whiskey is Awesome!!!! Especially with what’s being produced these day’s!!!!
This guy is beyond amazing !!!!! I feel at peace when I hear this song 🎵 I can listen over and over and over !!!!
What an amazing talent to play accordion on this song! Between Cody's voice and Jon's musicianship this just destroys me!!
chloerose2 hell yes I agree with you
Who's playing accordion?
Whiskey myers acoustic performances are beyond amazing. This whole show was ridiculous.
Seen these guys 6 times in the past 4 years. Me and my buddy always meet up atleast once a year, grab a handle of whiskey, and go see the guys. My only complaint is not seeing them enough
One of my favorites❤ His voice is gold
My son plays guitar. My mom plays the accordion. I can sing. But somehow those three things don't produce the same sounds as this video. :)
I have loved Whiskey Myers since about 10 years ago when I heard the album "Firewater".
All you who disliked this have zero appreciation for great music
The ppl who dislike this jackass god bless Virginia
Music is subjective, although I've never understood people who feel a need to hit the dislike button. I love this song but just because I do doesn't mean everybody has to. It's one of the things I love about music. Just because it means something to me doesn't mean everybody feels it, and that's a two way street.
They must've had their phone upside down and hit the wrong button. Anyone who could possibly dislike this should have music banned from their lives cause they are whats wrong with todays music.
This song is called a couple times and again, play on Cody Cannon
I agree. Myers is so good man. I dig it. This guy Brett McDaniel is good too. ua-cam.com/video/nWpwnKcJzrY/v-deo.html I've listened to "Stone" maybe 300 times. ahahhah . So much talent out there.
Absolutely on of the best recordings of all time, such an awesome, emotional song.
At work 3 am. Alone relaxing to your music. Thank you all so much. Sending live and good vibes
Love this song, and all the songs Ryan Bingham sings in Yellowstone! Whiskey Myers, you’ve got a new fan.🤟
He's amazing, he's has to have one hell of a good story. God bless him and his family!!
Wow this accordion 🪗 guitar 🎸 combo just blended nicely...dam good
I just discovered these guys yesterday.
Fayette county?
@@tmunson5434 Lived in Fayette County most of my life. In Westmoreland County now.
@@jimbrooks3370 I'm from connellsville ,been gone for about 30 years! Loved it back there ! Check out whiskey Meyers, Tyler Childers!
I'm coming in late, but you might see if you can stream any Texas red dirt stations. Like The Ranch out of Dallas/Fort Worth or The Outlaw from Wichita Falls. They play this music and a whole lot of other good stuff.
@@jimbrooks3370 here's some more: Sturgill Simpson, Tyler Childers, Colter Wall, Turnpike Troubadours, White Buffalo, Cody Jinks..
Still listening. Love this group. Did not know them until Yellowstone. Love their music. Love this song
Nothing better then acoustic versions if a person can sing and sir you sure can sing love this version!!!
Amen
I love listening to your acoustic versions ...your voice is just so amazing and unique. And the way you guys blend and change it up a little between the versions is just right thank you for sharing your music with the world
Totally agree. Well said
Better later then never , I discovered these guys today and they are now one of my fave bands ever .. amazing I can’t believe how many of their songs I love !
Whiskey Myers is so underrated! His music is genius. So heart wrenching.
Just so u know. Whiskey Myers is the band name. Not an individual
