I had a 04 2WD Tahoe that had about 175,000 miles on her. I used to change her oil every 2,000 miles. She ran like a champ and got me to and from PA to NC every single 4 day weekend.
Yeah they are very dependable vehicles simple maintenance and they will last more longer than most vehicles. They don't require a lot of work. I have a 05 Dodge Durango 5.7 Hemi with 330,000 miles with no check engine light it runs good no problems engine never been rebuild. I been doing simple maintenance.
Yeah you could put 10w30 if your vehicle has high mileage 200,000. On my 05 Dodge Durango I put 10w30 because it has 330,000 miles. I won't go higher than 10w30.

@@Darkweb.Gaming your welcome yeah I just saw that right now on Google 8 quarts. But that's to much oil. But yeah 6 quarts is enough for the 5.3 liter engine.

I hear Now days its recommended you fill the oil filter with oil before replacing.
yeah i heard the valve chatter but that is an issue with the oil it self mobil1..

You start the car first then you check the oil level smh
Grease also works on the oil filter gasket but be sure to not get any in the filter only on the rubber gasket
What happens if you get some in the filer
Did you need to use a jack to lift the car or did you do it without it?
I didn't use a jack since the Tahoe has 20 inch wheels I could fit perfectly underneath with no problem.

How do I know if the level is right and not overfilled
Add little by little pour and keep checking the level
Make sure oil filter tight it will leaked and boom all your oil gone

Is there a gasket that has to be removed from old filter?
No because the new oil filter already comes with the gasket attached to it.
I thought it holds 8 quarts?
I put 6 quarts of oil i never had a problem is a 5.3 liter engine. Now my 2005 Durango is a 5.7 liter it requires 7 quarts because is a bigger engine.
