Its to bright I always bring it down -1.i personally didn’t care about high bitrate but as I just switched over from a GoPro I never used the high nitrate on the GoPro either.. overall my big issue is how large my files are from how long the battery lost.. as long as we got 10 bit color I’m good .. slap an nd filter and the motion blur will negate the pixel peeping people are making .. I think the purchase was worth it
Ohh I got a solution for ur helmet .. use a lav mic inside ur cheek pad and just stick the receiver to the side of ur helmet .. I use scotch extreme fastener tape.. also Lower the db to -12.. take a peak on my last video and I show an example.. yeah the mic is small but annoying inside the helmet .. my setup is easy to charge back up as well

DJI sell a lav mic which should work perfectly and if you mount your existing Mic 2, which will then become your wireless audio transmitter, to the outside of your helmet or somewhere else where you can easily reach it, I believe it can double as a remote control for starting and stopping recording on the Action 5 in a similar way to how it works on the Osmo Pocket 3.(TIP: Mount the DJI Mic 2 transmitter to your helmet so you don't have to remember to unplug every time you take it off) I use a dirt cheap generic lav from Amazon which works fine but others weren't so lucky with this hit or miss approach.
invest in a set of nd filters, they make a big difference. they will make your footage next level, bring down your shutter speed for more motion blur and bring down the over exposed look.
The video did not upload the way I hoped it would. I just had a look at some instructions as to how to upload HLG video. I'm busy trying again. It looks very good on my computer so I hope the next attempt is better. The file being uploaded now is over 200GB so it will take a while I think. This was on the lower bit rate as well. I haven't yet tested the higher bitrate. This video was not intended to compare but merely to let people know that it was available.
If you want to know a good camera review you really need to watch a review from a videographer.. This is a real world review by a vlogger not a n editor. For example. All editing software has a properties button which will tell you the data rate of the file. Therefore this vlogger could have told us exactly what the higher data rate is.. 💯 Great Real world none editor point and go review
@@CraeInYourArea Yes. I have found that the bit rate of the 5 is only 90Kb/s whilst the OA4 and 3 bitrate is 130kb/s . This will explain the greater dynamic range of the 5 but with lower resolution. But filming in D log M ten bit on the OA3 or OA4 gives superb dynamic range .. The best settings for the 3 or 4 is to shoot in 4/3rds at 4K . This is recorded in r709 colour at H265 .. Perfect for you tube when cropped to 16:9 and rendered at H264.. Using the whole sensor always delivers beautiful dynamic range and does not require the massive processing power of a professional graphics card Pc.. as r709 delivery is the You tube colour profile straight out of the camera... check out my Glen coe vlog .. The detail and colour depth are pushed to the extreme to capture the day in glorious clarity :)
The HDR version has completed processing now and to me it looks pretty good. I am interested in your opinion and if you still think it's crap I'd be interested to know why you think so. I just returned my OA5P to the seller. I think they cannot fix the problem. But overall additional settings are great.
