It's been 20 years and my friends and I still break out 'Oh, m'scusi' from time to time.
Same here.
im glad im not the only one.. lol

I read Eurotrip and burst out into a rendition of "Scotty doesn't know" 😆
Scotty Doesn't Know one of the best songs ever
@@jamesrein648 Amen, brother. One of the best out of nowhere moments in movie history imho.
"Scotty doesn't know that Fiona and me

"This band rocks!" 😂😂😂
As a native European, I can assure you this is pretty much a documentary. Very accurate.
Vinnie Jones wouldn't be a Man Utd supporter, he's an ex crazy gang Wimbledon FC & Welsh International, he wouldn't piss on a utd shirt.
Well no 😂
This movie is one of the primary reasons I spent so much time in Europe in the 2000’s.
@@stevemcgowenYou kept riding on trains hoping for "Italian encounters" in tunnels, huh?
They want to do same trip , it was filmed mainly in Prague , London and Paris were green screen back drops 🙂
Vinnie Jones never played for ManU , mainly played for London teams , but the football chant is same for many teams , Glory Glory Team Name .
Finland has best Ice hockey song , made in 2011 for JYP to play if it won, Poju : Poika (saunoo) Official Video , after that Finland won gold in world cup 2011 .
"The girls never came. THE GIRLS NEVER CAME!"

on of the best lines. i say thi even today still to my friends from time to time ^^
The "Scotty doesn't know" song will now haunt you the rest of your life. You're now one of us. Welcome. xD
Cooper should have been in a lot more movies as a sidekick. He's hilarious and really deserved more roles.
I think the idea was for him to be David Spade if he was 18.
Well, he did become one of the greatest sidekicks in TV history as Justified's Deputy Tim.
I swear Fred Armisen's mere appearance in anything is unhinged and hilarious 😂
Scuzy
The youth hostel owner is dame Joanna lumley. Absolute legend of British film and TV. Best known for absolutely fabulous.
I thought she looked really familiar.
British Royalty
She was also the only one actually trying to sound Dutch. For some reason the others sound German.
I always get a kick out of Vinnie Jones' character talk about how much he loves Manchester United. He certainly didn't display that much love when he played against them 😂
If memory serves, this was his first American movie role. He was hired to play himself, a football hooligan.

Actually, Matt Damon isn’t a member of the band. The guitar player on the left is the actual singer. Matt, the band and the movie’s creators were all college buddies.
Cooper is just the perfect friend. Not a second of judgement. Just 💯% support when he thinks Scottie is coming out to him.
AND! He isn't ruin your life because it's funny or something like that. Most movies nowadays the best friend mostly annoying the main character and/or give some really hard time to live.
Don't worry about your parents, I think they already know lol
Honestly, yeah. Cooper is a W friend. I’d kill for a friend like Cooper to go drinking with on weekends
One of my all time favorite comedies, so damn funny!
"You didn't tell your boss you were going to Europe."
"They would have stopped paying me. This seemed easier"
Also "I saw a gay porno once. I didn't know until halfway in. The girls never came. The girls never came!" is something I will randomly quote to see how many people 1. get the reference and 2. how many people will laugh.
I would have laughed, if the delivery was good. I don't know if I would have remembered that line.
The things that always stuck with me was the email notification (used to have it as my text sound), Scotty doesn't know, and a buddy and I would always quote, "This isn't where I parked my car!". "You made out with your sister!"
yeah you are right, it´s in the top 3 with austin powers and naked gun for me :)
i always find it hilarious when cooper gets himself into a bind and says "this isn't where I parked my car" 😂
I use that same line when I find myself in an awkward situation
And she thought Van Wilder was wild, this is gonna be primal! 😂
You said it in better words, then I could.

This movie doesn't get the respect it deserves. It's twice as funny and more quotable than "American Pie" hands down. Also, best ringtone ever. 😂😂😂

@lampad4549 Yeah, yeah it is.
I always think of this as the "Michelle Trachtenberg makes out with her brother movie." She was one of my earliest crushes, going back to "The Adventures of Pete and Pete". Also the weirdest Matt Damon cameo. He was at the height of his fame at this point, and seeing him in this was comparable to Drew Barrymore at the beginning of Scream - except completely random.
Scotty Doesn't know has been living rent free in my head for the past 20 years and it still makes me laugh. 🤣🤣
Man that song came on. I hadn't heard it in nearly like 8-10 years and I could sing it line for line without missing anything. Until it came on I had totally forgotten how much I enjoyed that song and this movie.
"Europeans have their own music, they wouldn't be playing American music" I mean they totally would. Love this movie, only saw it for the first time a few years ago and couldn't believe I'd never seen it before
Scotty doesn’t know scotty doesn’t know
"Don't tell Scotty!"
"You gotta admit, it's a really catchy tune."
Scott doesn't knowww...ooow!
to this day scotty still doesn't know
At 26:49 the woman in the red leather jacket is Lucy Lawless who played (Xena Warrior Princess).
This was the first film I remember to highlight Trachtenberg's physical attractiveness, as up to this point her most notable roles were as Dawn in Buffy and the host for a kids scary stories show.
What was the kids scary story show ?
@@adgato75 Truth or Scare on Discovery Kids, it was a combination scary stories/documentary about various phenomenon and myths like crop circles or old ghost stories.

SebScreens reaction gotta be the best reaction to this movie. Especially the opening 5seconds to his video lol
In Italy (confirmed by relatives living there) Fred Armisen's character was considered offensive, so they changed him to Spanish in the dubbing, he says buenas dias instead of buongiorno for example.
Yeah, someone does have a zero sense of humor. Greeks, Russians, some Asians are like that too. Well in Russia it is almost only pussy-ass politicians, common people loves comedies with them in it, they get best ratings.
I don’t blame them.
@mariorossi9300 Did anyone from Spain try to Complain ? ( you notice it rhymes 😉) i would imagine it offends everyone reallly that 's why it's so bloody Hilarious 😂
I find offensive that they were part of the axis of Evil they need to get over it it's a funny character tell him to grow up

My brother's favorite scene.
In certain parts of Europe they play quite a bit of American music… especially in bars and clubs.
For example, in Prague (where the vast majority of the movie was filmed) they play a TON of American music.
Even on the radio a good chunk of music is american.
American hegemony for the win /s

That was my text notification for probably a decade, it might still be on my phone somewhere lol.
Fun Fact: The entire movie was filmed in and around Prague! Which btw is the one place in Europe I'd love to visit!
That's how they got Damon. He went to High School with the director or producer (can't remember which) and he was in Prague filming Bourne so he swung by for the cameo.

This is my favorite movie from the early 2000’s, I love it. It honestly hasn’t aged as horribly as most others have, so I, thankful for that. But one little thing I love about this movie is the Scotty doesn’t know song, when they go to the club in Bratislava the same song is playing but it’s a euro club remix version and it’s so spot on lol I love it

This is a spiritual successor to Todd Phillips' Road Trip. The actor playing Cooper is also in The Pacific. The opening song is a French version of "My Generation" by Jet. The actor playing Jamie also has a small role in Supernatural. Besides this and Xena, Lucy Lawless is also in the Spartacus series
Lucy Lawless was also very good in the Ash vs Evil Dead tv series if you haven't seen it.
I loved Road Trip. Of course, I had a crush on Amy Smart back then. I had the dual dvd of these somewhere. Might have to break that out.
Line of the night. " I hardly drool anymore."
I am glad that I am not the only one who thinks of Pete and Pete when it comes to Michelle Trachtenberg.
If you're a big fan of this movie, you need to know the story about the baker who scolds Scott and Michelle about the brownies. For the Amsterdam Bakery scene, two rasta guys were hired ("Rasta Waiter" and "Rasta Chef") but neither of them were actors - and the one who had all the lines was too shy and didn't want to do it - so they switched parts - and the guy you see (Go Go Jean Michel Francis) was amazing and went on to act in other movies!
That was Joanna Lumley at the end from the British show Absolutely Fabulous or Ab Fab to the cool kids in the know. It had a big cult following in America too.
The hostel manager is from a show that the Mrs will absolutely love, called Absolutely Fabulous
That explains why she seemed familiar I've never watched the show but seen her in clips used for videos.
I haven't seen this in quite a while but "Scotty Doesn't Know" pops up on my Pandora a lot.
I worked at an Italian Pizzeria, the owner was born and grew up in Italy. most of the employees were all at a bowling alley one night, when the boss, Franco, bowled, he would walk back to the table and squeeze between the random table of guys and the console and he'd say "exsuce'e" each time and I'd keep busting out laughing thinking of this movie......
24:28
Fun fact: the director told the stand-ins that if they could catch the actors, they could do whatever they wanted to them. So that scene with the main guys running away and the hundred of fellows chasing them isn't an act, the kids were trully terrified...
“MAIL MUTHAFUCKA!!!” is, and has been, my longtime mail notification for my phone.
I made it myself 😄😄😄
And “Scotty Doesn’t Know” is my ringtone!
The Little Fuhrer 😂. This shit was wild
I'm torn between this and "Sex Trip" being my favorite of the trilogy.
EDIT: Sex Drive.
I call Road Trip, Euro Trip and Sex Drive a trilogy. They fit together well.
Heck yeah Sex Drive needs far more attention. Just for the love of all that's holy stay VERY far away from the director's or unrated cut and do the theatrical release.
32:16 So cute he thinks the 80's were 20 years ago. Exact same thing happens to me man, fucking hell 😭
Wow!! 20 years ago. That makes Dawn 38 years old now. She was 18 here because there's a behind the scenes moment where she very excitedly yells "I'm 18!!! Whoooo!!". And flashes her boobs. Except the camera is behind her so she's flashing oncoming traffic not us.
Cameraman should've been fired.
"He got him right in the nuts and bolts." Lmao
"Scotty Doesn't know." Now he does 😆
I swear to God, I nearly passed out from laughing at the kid doing the goose-step the 1st time I watched this
The twins making out is the funniest part 👍🏻
"They really are the worst twins ever."
This is in my top ten movie list! Laugh my butt off every time
Eurotrip was a 2004 movie, so some of the stereotypes (like the one about former Eastern Block countries) were true back in the 1990s.
The director’s commentary is the best!!! They play a drinking game while talking and get hammered…then they order a pizza and when it some they ask the pizza guy if he knows their movie and he doesn’t…freaking hilarious!
Also the whole thing was filmed in Prague. And Matt Damien happened to be at a coffee shop and the director ran into him. (He was filming Borne identity). And Matt agreed to do a quick cameo
European here. As someone who's lived in Bratislava for over a decade I can assure you that that depiction was entirely inaccurate. It's actually a hidden jem as far as European cities are concerned. Very peaceful, with few tourists, so it is a great place to for a leisurely stroll or a breather. Now, if it was depicting a Bulgarian city, I would have no rebuttal, as a Bulgarian.
The young lady playing Mieke is, or was at the time, a very popular singer in Germany and other parts of Europe.
I'm sure her fanbase helped the ticket sales in Europe.
26:01 Well that's Mr Movies on the couch for a month.
I was think the same thing lol
EuroTrip is one of my favorite movies ever. It has so many memorable and quotable moments. I have a friend from work who went with her husband to Europe on vacation to catch a music festival and they actually visited Bratislava during their trip because her husband loved this movie so much.
As a fellow slovakian this is accurate portrait of how it is here
The twin brother was also in Justified as Duffy’s enforcer, “Billy Mac” the former boxer in S1
Kids today will never know that Scott didn't know..
Gotta keep them educated 😝😝😝😝😝😝
34:04 American music is definitely played in European clubs. People buy the music and attend the concerts.
Now I want to take Mr Movies on a tour of Amsterdam. (and to answer Mrs Movies question about STD's, prostitution is legal there and they get tested regularly)
The girl that plays Jenny, is Harriet from Harriet the Spy.
My euro trip would be Scotland, Ireland, and the Nordic Countries.
I remember this movie! I must have been like 9 when first I saw it, the song lives rent free in my head 😅
My first Amsterdam brownie was a real trip. I literally almost slept in the train station and I was going made every time I heard an ambulance siren or the water pipes in my hotel room once I finally made it back.
And im glad u mentioned Lucy Lawless, Xena the warrior princess of the 90s. Thank u!❤❤❤
Matt Damon: *appears*
"Jesus Christ, it's Jason Bourne!"
In the UK, almost any bar near a football field is a members only bar. Hell I lived near Tottenham and could not get into the local bar cause I had to prove I was a member.
I love seeing people react to and enjoy this movie. I got my hands on it at an arguable too young age. I think I was like 13 or 14 when I got a copy, and I thought it was hilarious. But growing up in a religious home and where 95% of my friends were from church I had no one to share this movie with.
Meanwhile just a few months ago I heard my 15 year old nephew singing Scotty Doesn't Know (his stepbrother's name is Scotty) and I got curious and asked him if he's seen the movie that song was from. And he just got sheepish and said that he did lol.
My angle is a kind of reverse of that, as I guess I was around 30 or so when I first saw it. It was more of a "the antics of the next generation" schtick. It's amusing to see and read about younger people's reaction to it. For example. The whole "seeing Michelle Trachtenberg as a woman" bit worked on a very different level for those of us who still thought of her as Harriet the Spy or the kid from Buffy, and it was like the movie was trying to tell us it was OK to realize she had... grown up. It was almost like the whose bikini scene was put in there just to reprogram the audience and industry from "child star" to "you can cast me as a grown-up now." There are actually a lot of complex layers like that in the movie, which is why I think it holds up so well. Watching it again now I pay even more attention to the parents and how oblivious they are, or the bit where Cooper gets the promotion.
i love that the club plays "scotty on ne znaet" means scotty doesnt know in bratislava
I wish I spoke bratislava
Just got back from Europe and yes I was in Amsterdam for several days. Great city, great people. Red Light District is only a small part of the city and not at all like the movie.
As a 21 year Navy veteran, this movie is a must for all going to Europe
When I saw this in the theater I waited through the credits to find the band's name and downloaded "Scotty Doesn't Know" as soon as I got home.

Funny thing about Matt Damon's cameo is that Matt Damon was Scotty in real life. Before he became famous, Matt's real life girlfriend cheated on him and eventually left him for Lars Ulrich (drummer for Metallica)
It wasn’t the Manchester United song but he did it with guts and they respected him for it
"Hans! Gruber!" is just wrong.

I absolutely love this comedy. It cracks me up every time I watch it.
American music is very popular in Europe! I spent New Year's Eve in Barcelona, and they played "Hell's Bells" at midnight, in the bar where my buddies and I were drinking.
Even though its a small part in this movie, the guy with the red car is "Rade Scherbadze"..he was a popular Romanian actor, and has been acting in American Films since the Val Kilmer version of "The Saint".
