I like to call this “protocol 12” in which footage of Bruce Wayne suiting up as Batman from the beginning of the game is broadcast on every network in Gotham
I always found it Strange (heh) that Hugo threatens Bruce to reveal his identity if he tries to stop him, and then...he never does it despite Bruce obviously trying to stop him at several points. At least one scene where he taunts Batman about his leverage in the middle of the game could have been suspensful. The only time he boasts about it is against the Riddler.
The only headcanon I can draw as to why he doesn't is that he worries the reveal might draw attention away from the convicts trying to escape Arkham City (something he setup to gain clearance to use Protocol 10). At the very least, he could have setup a failsafe incase he dies where he plays the footage of the interrogation.
another thing to add, at the beginning of the game Hugo says "Now that we have you, Protocol 10 is ready to commence." So that means that capturing Bruce Wayne was protocol 9.
@@leithaziz2716or Ras Al Ghul ordered him not to do such a thing.
@@leithaziz2716
I think it’s because of Strange’s over confidence. Batman was busy dealing with the criminals, so Hugo didn’t see Batman as an active threat to his plan. By the time Batman directly confronted T.Y.G.E.R, Protocol 10 has already begun and has wiped out hundreds of prisoners. Hugo is confident that his men could kill Batman and even Batman finally got to him, Hugo still thought he won. Hugo thought himself untouchable, but no one is.
It was only when Hugo was stabbed and bleeding out that Strange realized that he failed.
@@comicfan1324 I literally had the same idea for an Arkham City ending rewrite. With his last breath, Hugo reveals Batman's identity as part of a Protocol 12 or maybe a double-failsafe Protocol 11 that also blows up the tower. I think that would've made him a more memorable villain that leaves a lasting impact on Batman even with his small screen time and made that thread actually go somewhere.
There is one thing we can say for certain: Riddler wouldn’t believe it either way.
True tho XD (and he'd get on a billboard and say it even if he was locked up lol)
"the plotline where hugo knows who batman is didn't go anywhere".
No, it was literaly his entire character arc. Hugo strange wanted to become the new Batman. He has his own batman suit from the riddler tapes. He purposely DIDN'T reveal batmans identity so he could take over his mantle as the new batman. He constantly says "Gotham will thank Hugo Strange". He even at the start says "No one is untouchable" but then at Wonder Tower says "I am untouchable", implying he thinks himself to be the new Batman.
I think one way it could've went somewhere while still not contradicting Hugo's goal to become Batman is if he still keep it as a failsafe that he activates as Protocol 12 while he lays dying, as that's when he knew he failed, so he might as well try to ruin Batman's life by exposing his identity.
the real question is: What if I was in Arkham City?
Then you would be unalived by the thugs
@@torinfarrow662What is MAN doing in Ark ham city, is he stupid?
Either you die or get bones broken or actually live somehow
which faction would you join?
You would die there
5:56 idk why but I remember the voice line word for word it’s “so whose robin and nightwing i bet they’re the same guy”
I also remember a similar line that ends with a thug asking "Does Bruce Wayne's have a kid or something?"
You know, just an idea, and this could apply to what actually happened during Knightfall protocol as well, Batman has to have had some identity. He could walk around the streets as right? The guy still needs to eat and he can’t exactly walk into your local grocery store in his Batsuit nor can he show up as Bruce Wayne.
So what if during the time where he was MIA his civilian identity was Matches Malone (long time Batman fans will likely be familiar with this name.)
I actually had several ideas into how to incorporate the Matches Malone persona into the Arkham Games. It would be a cool way to experience playing as Bruce that isn't Batman or just Bruce in his one-off mission or when in around the mansion imo. I'm imagining certain quests that start off or progress by us investigating some criminal hideout as Matches Malone then coming in later as Batman.
What if Prometheus was scarecrows right hand in Arkham knight? Would be a fire video
He still needs to show up in an Arkham game 😭
he was gonna be DLC for AK season of infamy 😭😭
Better yet WHAT IF: Prometheus replace The Arkham Knight, as an antagonist. 😉
@@RuneAnimations22 Whaaaaat!? 😲
@@enigma5613 true would be a cool concept tho
What if Idea:
"What if Paul Dini wrote Arkham Knight" with real follow up with Azriel and Hush, and pregnant Harley was not a fake-out.
Harley stopped being pregnant in city though? The tests show negative and not positive in the city dlc
@@Wizofmincraftthe dlc was not written by Dini and the bunch of negative tests was a backpedal from after he left
Also a Hush & Scarecrow team-up and Ra's return in the main story. I would love that as a sort of re-write video topic. That's the epic Arkham finale I wanted to see which pays off every set up in a big way in dedicated storylines.
It’s possible if he did that the Arkham Knight’s identity and “the twist” would’ve been better but who knows?
Also why did Paul Dini stop writing for the series after Batman: Arkham City anyway? Were there creative differences between him and Rocksteady/WB Games or something?
@@somerandofromoregon Apparently, according to him, he was just never called back after City. He even found out about Harley Quinn's Revenge only via a promo ad. Rocksteady opted to rely on their own in-house writing team.
one of the Joker hallucinations says something along the lines of "love new car, all those guns! It's like an evil clown was whispering in your ear as you drew up the design" meaning that batman was already infected by the time the ak batmobile was being designed, you could be charitable and assume he only means when he drew up the deign ofnthe guns themselves but i doubt it.
We'd definitely be stuck with the og batmobile
It would've also been interesting to see how Batman improvises with all the tanks given the lack of weapons. Perhaps he relies on hacking the drones as another comment suggested as well as the EMP blast.
Hey GP Thanks for giving us this video early and hope you enjoy your vacation
Sorry you guys I meant to drop this for you yesterday but I simply forgot 😭, but thank you!
also, the hush mission should've gone differently or scrapped completely
because imagine you are trying to say you're game ended and someone that looks like you starts appearing out of nowhere
it could work, yeah, but i don't really see hush with a motivation anymore with this theory in mind
what if instead of Arkham Knight Jason was called Freak Knight and his goal was to touch Bruce freakily
*Arkham Reddit ahh moment* 💀
I wonder without the bat would the riddler keep the cat?
Although I would prefer that Batman keeps the mantle of Batman, there is a different identity. Batman has had that I think could work:
THE SHOOTING STAR.
There’s a DC Elseworld comic which acts as a parody of Batman’s origin story in which, instead of a bat flying through Bruce’s window to inspire him to become Batman It shows what else he could’ve become. One of them was seeing a shooting star fly past his window so Batman, a white and gold costume and calls himself “The Shooting Star”.
A modernized adaption of this could potentially have it so Batman uses a voice modulator to make him sound different when the mask is on and some of the less intelligent criminals probably wouldn’t make the connection that the big black bat is suddenly running around as a giant gold star themed vigilante. And even if some villains figure it out, they can’t prove it so that just adds to the mistake of this “new” superhero.
Batman’s probably gonna have to hack cobra tanks to make them work for him since he likely wouldn’t have the upgraded Batmobile in this timeline since Lucius would’ve presumed he was dead. And it’s heavily implied from one of the city stories ear as he drew up the designs
Unless he was making the car for Robin, I guess
But just for fun factor let’s say they at least had the prototype version of this Batmobile ready
Yeah, even if the Knight Batmobile (or a prototype of it) was around for use, I think it more than likely wouldn't have all the weaponry. He'd most likely rely on hacking and possibly the EMP to take down the tanks.
Great vid very interesting from a narrative perspective. Sounds like something very rare in Batman story’s lately some originality!
Nope, Batman wouldn't have the Arkham Knight batmobile because it was the Joker's idea to have it like that and since Batman wouldn't be working with Fox on that period of time for the sake of protecting them.
This sounds like a very engaging story, i really wish this actually happened, i would have loved this story!!!
Hope your having a good vacation
I have a theory/hope . . . what if GothamPaladin is on vacation to visit the studio or event for Arkham Shadow? Maybe a playtest?
. . . Or they're just having an honest good time on vacation lol. Either is good!
@@TheDeviousYodeler You were right
@Phantomdude honestly was a shot in the dark, but still pretty awesome it happened! Maybe we'll see a GP Easter egg
You know, maybe I’m being a bit too much of an optimist, but what if Batman got a presidential pardon for stopping a terrorist plot that would’ve poisoned the entire East Coast of America.
So perhaps that could explain why Batman won’t be arrested as soon as he shows back up in the public conscience again as long as he “plays nice” (which actuality is the authorities admitting that they either don’t want to arrest Batman or no they can’t bring him in unless Batman wants to be brought in.)
Maybe after seeing how well the batfamily handled themselves will trust that they will be safe, even if his identity is public. Although I believe Bruce would still be a recluse and the public would only see him when he’s in costume.
@comicfan1324 I was thinking if something like that happened when he decided to return to the public as Batman like is revealed in SS:KTJL. Maybe they let Wayne Enterprises run as it is without much investigation and maybe provide security for employees and loved ones (not the Bat-Family) who could get targeted.
I’ve been thinking about this one for a while… What if Arkham Batman is going to become a version of The Batman who Laughs?
I believe the spectators' hair on the miniature is from Girlfirend from Friday Night Funkin.
The colors and shape are almost identical.
Now this is a video I've been looking for a long time.
So they brought ScareCrow and Zsasz in Arkham Asylum GP. Zsasz freaks me out what do you think of the inmates here GP
Another thing to think about is Azrael would he take over Batman’s place between City and Knight? Would that cause conflict with the remaining bat family or with Batman himself in Arkham Knight?
There is something weird about Hugo strange the protocol 10 was planned by ras and strange to drag imnates from arkham asylum to arkham city and wipe them out of existence but when you confront strange in wonder tower batman deactivates protocol 10 ending up ras killing him but the weird about all of this is that strange at the blink of death activates protocol 11 and the weird is that ras never knew about it althrought batman says that he was behind his power and arkham city was behind of ras plan did strange planned to blow the wonder tower or to blow himself there is so much secrets that this game has and that’s why we love it 🦇
If Dick didn't know Batman was still alive, Jason wouldn't know neither.
Dick is the eldest child in the Bat family, there is no way Bruce wouldn't tell his first Robin about Knightfall Protocol if Jason knew too.
The Joker infected would also probably heal themselves mentally... Because without Batman they cannot be Joker. We know that Joker's only motivation in life is Batman, without Batman there is no point for Joker.
Jason would be Red Hood without exacting revenge on Batman. Most of what we have in Arkham Knight will not exist because of the events of your alternate Arkham City. It will likely be more akin to that lost Arkham Beyond game, where crime is more loose without Batman. Even if Robin, Nightwing, and Red Hood are still fighting crime, it won't be the same without Batman.
These types of videos are the best
This is a cool idea.
Do what if joker never became a titan!
What if Alfred became a titan
What if Batman succumbed to the TITAN and transformed.
I feel like Lucius continuing R&D would have a ripple effect: The rest of the Bat Family as well as Selina getting more of his gadgets and maybe THEM becoming the playable characters in Knight (think Gotham Knights but only Tim, Dick and Selina). Knight becomes more about them protecting Gotham from Scarecrow and Jason with Batman not being seen until the end with the Nightmare Batman.
Right. Even if Lucius thought Batman was dead, I agree that he'd still continue developing the R&P department to assist the Bat-Family with their war on crime. I don't think Batman would only appear at the end though, but maybe at the end of the first act, late second act; around when Barbara is kidnapped. Which here would eliminate the drama of Batman hiding the truth about her safety from Tim.
What if jason, deathstroke and scarecrow released the militia in arkham city
Scarecrow: Dammit i will make you know true fear strange
Honestly the 2nd ending idea is honestly how the game's plot went with this whole scenario too. That's a perfect setup for a Justice League title
And yes, you got swag.
Everyone got swag
Make a what if Arkham series, please
I feel like with Batman out of the picture between City and Knight, he'd have more time to work on the cure to the Joker Poison in both himself and any other potential victims(that he either does or doesn't know about)
Batman coming out of retirement would be an epic game
Facts, this would be amazing. Then the interactions with the other Batfamily members would have some pretty cool dialogue too. Instead of the tone of "This is the last time we meet" it turns into "Where have you been, why didn't you say something?". Adds conflict and unique character moments
I don’t think Strange had the balls to reveal Bruce was batman before killing him, he was probably so sure the tyger guards would kill batman that he planned to expose bruce after he was killed, then he would take the suit from his corpse and put it on.
I think that would make a fine twist for the end rather than the Joker dying.
Why does everyone in the crowd in the thumbnail look like Ben 10 from omniverse?😂
Hear me out, Batman still uses some type of fear toxin towards the militia, or some type of new fear or type of technology that will help him see more like a ghost, like the phantasm.
I like the idea of Bruce searching for a new purpose outside of Gotham as when he started and connecting it to him joining the Justice League as seen in SS:KTJL. Maybe he starts looking into supernatural individuals & threats that are popping up around the world which eventually leads him to seek out the League members and forming the JL.
You wouldn’t have that batmobile if his id was blown in City. They made it clear the tank was based on his Joker influence.
At most that batmobile (or a prototype of it) would be around but without all the guns. He'd only rely on hacking the drones and setting the EMP.
Why there is a crowd of Ben Tennysons in the thumbnail?
Please tell me I'm not the only one who heard him say "vanessa Hudgens is hot" swear im jot going insane with a joker infection
One thing we all seem to forget in these scenerios, Even GP himself forgeta it. IT IS AZREAL!!!!
Nice Theory
It would have been awesome if a part of protocol 11 was letting everyone know Bruce Wayne is Batman. Then in Arkham Knight Scarecrow manipulates that
That was my idea for an Arkham City ending rewrite. With his final breath, Strange activates his Protocol 11 failsafe which blows Wonder Tower (with the aim of killing his former mentor & enemy) and reveals the Batman's identity so should he survive or die, his loved ones and everything he's worked to build is compromised.
@themadtitan7603 Yeah. Imagine playing through Arkham Knight, and everyone knows Bruce Wayne is batman.
@@thedaltoid0266 That would've made the third game potentially more personal and intense. I'm imagining something like Barbara being kidnapped being a looming threat the whole game with Alfred, Lucius, even a love interests of Bruce's like Vicki Vale being in danger by his enemies.
I'm not sure the GCPD would still take the risk of working with Batman - at least, not publicly. It is one thing to dismiss and arrest warrant for Bruce Wayne, by lying about the fax machine malfunctioning (at the end of Arkham Knight), but it is another one entirely to overtly work with him after receiving a direct order to arrest him. At the very least, it would bring the whole Batman/GCPD dynamic back to square one : just like in Batman's earlier years, when a few police officers trusted and helped him in the shadows, while the rest of the force was trying to end his career.
I've heard the "who's Robin" voice line so I believe you GP
I can third this, I've also heard it on a recent playthough myself
I can tell you right now Riddler still wouldn’t believe shit even if Strange three Batman’s identity right in his face lol😂😂
Hey this was the idea I gave you on your stream
Have a great vacation
Bruce is guts in the thumbnail
They werent already developing the new batmobile in arkham city. Joker says, in arkham knight: "Its almost like an evil clown was whispering in your ears when you drew up the design". Which could't be possible considering the fact that he got poisoned with jokers blood in city
I'd like to see this series continue with the other games, like, what if Joker actually did poison the water supply with TITAN? What if the Arkham Knight revealed Bruce's identity? What if batman just let Joker fall off the Royal Hotel to his death? Just a few ideas if you needed inspiration.
I feel like if this word to happen that the timeline would still stand. But in this version, the Arkham Knight would try to draw out Batman, forcing him to return and still use scarecrow turn the city in fear, toxin and rally not just the villains that we saw in Arkham Knight, but others as well. Want everybody to see Bruce Wayne afraid, even though that he has nothing to lose
So basically what should’ve happened the second bro found out
I was literally playing city today and saw this vid w
I think what Bruce did in the 9 months was track down the leauge of assassins to get closure with talia’s passing
Think a longer version of the side mission with the leauge in knight
Wait didn’t I ask this question during a live stream and you ANSWERED
@@user-yb9wc2oy8f The crazy thing is is that I had this video planned before you ASKED IT 😂, so I decided to make it early for that reason. Great minds think alike!
@@GothamPaladin yea but it is funny lol
Good theory.
I think joker would beat the shit out of strange. Joker hates when people try/do reveal who batman is
my immediate thoughts are that Azrael usurps the identity of Batman between City and Knight. once Knight kicks off, Bruce would return to Gotham and have to also deal with Azrael as a second, lethal Batman.
on the Jokers, i think he'd quietly work out who it was, get them all in one place, and then get Robin and Oracle to start looking for a cure. Nightwing operates out of Bludhaven, and Tim and Barbara are far more capable detectives.
Where’s the Arkham Shadow gameplay trailer breakdown?!?! Ive been checking everyday!!!!!
KEEP THE VIDEOS UP PLS 🔥🔥🔥
I think you should do another what if about if JAson actually killed Batman in AK. How different would Gotham be and would Barbra Tim and Richard be against Jason and have to stop him to protect Gotham? :)
Great video gp also thoughts on Arkham shadow
I like the second option more because you haven’t mentioned one important character who qualifies for the protection Gotham, Azrael.
Thug knowing Bruce Wayne is Batman: Still.. We should stay out of his way.
The right question to ask is, "Why didn't he?"
They really shoulda just found like 20 random guys in new jersey to record like 3 voice lines each for super cheap and then the thugs would have had some personality
What if joker never injected himself with titan in batman arkham asylum
If joker was never sick & poisoned, who would this effect arkham city and knight? Would hugo strange still plan out protocol 10? Does talia live at the end of arkham city? Will clayface be in arkham city but with a different mission ( or would he still be fake joker? ). I think it would make for an interesting video. Would scarecrow even be the main villain in arkham knight? What happens with jason todd in arkham knight? Will he still be the arkham knight or will red hood be introduced early so he can fight joker?
Think if joker not being sick would have major ramifications on arkham city & probably arkham knight too
Got promoted to RobinGreat video as always Gp! Cant wait to hear your thoughts on Arkham shadow.
I dig the thumbnail, where have you got it from? Commissioned an Artist?
Here's a thing if batman did the nightfall protocol, wouldn't azrael become batman or become batman's successor because the arch wouldn't be complete, so there would be azrael executing his justice etc in gotham but then what of Thomas elliot and his plot, because if people are convinced bruce Wayne is dead then Thomas wouldn't be able to try to execute his plans etc. These are 2 things you didn't mention in this video, so I feel these where important in arkham city as they carried over into arkham knight as well, and would've happened in some variable way
I think the Arkhamverse would’ve change a bit but not a lot I still think Arkham Knight would’ve stayed the same but Hugo Strange is one of my favorite atman villains ig would’ve been so interesting to see how the world would react to it despite nobody would or will believe him at the same time I do think it could bring a lot more interesting plot threads as with Gordon, GCPD, Jason Todd, Barbara, Dick, and other characters would impact them as well.
Okay, couple of things;
Firstly, I think Hugo Strange outing Bruce Wayne is Batman and everybody believing him premise is kinda flawed from the start.
The onus will be on Strange to prove Bruce = Batman.
And Bruce I'd imagine will do everything possible to prevent that; a really good example is the ending of the episode "The Strange Secret of Bruce Wayne" from BTAS. Strange tried to out Wayne, but failed miserably because Bruce had Dick in disguise to look like him (while being present as Batman).
Hence, unless Bruce literally gets unmasked by Strange like Scarecrow did to him in Knight (or caught in a video tape saying he's Batman) with no way to escape from it, I'd say it would be very difficult for Strange to prove it.
Secondly, regarding impact on the Bat Family on Bruce's secret being found out, those thugs dialogue is interesting.
Though thinking about it, it does raise the question in which how would Bruce Wayne a playboy billionaire who would be followed by the paparazzis with tons of public exposure manage to hide the adoptions/bringing in a ward?
Not like Bruce can just keep the kid locked up and only let them out when they're being Robin (Dick, Jason, Tim).
This would be solved if public knows these 3 are Bruce's wards, which leads to the 3 Robins getting more exposure and social experience growing up (particularly Dick and Tim), but I don't remember any dialogue acknowledging this, so yeah..... a bit of head scratcher.
Can you do a WHAT IF: The whole concept of the Arkham Knight was replace with Prometheus. The whole Modern Military Knight suit is perfect for a Modern Redesign just a simple name switch would have suffice, and it could look something like this, by using the game “A Way Out” for inspiration.
WHAT IF: Way before Arkham Origins in “A Way Out” scenario, by switching the character of Vincent with Gordon, and having Gordon kill Leo, living Linda a widow, and Alex fatherless. Gordon’s betrayal would make Alex have a deep hatred for cops or anything authority related thus becoming Prometheus. Thus teaming up with Scarecrow to invade Gotham for revenge.
At least that would be MY take. 😉
"I don't think suicide squad is canon, I'm just using it as a reference" is the dumbest think this guy has ever said. If its not canon why mention it multiple times.
As they said, to use it as a reference for what would transpire in a hypothetical scenario where Batman's identity was revealed in Arkham City rather than Knight.
Because its speculation for a fictional character...
u have swag paladin
Are you gonna cover the arkham shadow gameplay?
If his identity got revealed, then bruce would have to stop being batman. All of his assets, wealth and everything relating to his family's Business would be taken away from him. The gcpd would get into his house, discover the batcave and take apart everything in it. All of his files and information on his computer would be known by the police. Bruce, along with every ally of his, would be relentlessly hunted down and thrown into prison for their crime. By simple association, Richard, Tim, jason, Alfred and lucius would also be the enemy of the gcpd. Their lives would be in constant danger, as Richard must have multiple enemies in bludhaven that want him dead. None of them could ever hope to live a civilian life ever again
Great video, hows your vacation been so far
@@The_one_and_great_Riddler Great so far!
I have a better question: why didn't he reveal batman's identity even though batman tried to stop him?
How do you get such good thumbnails?
How do you make these thumbnails
I have a better question what if the Bat-Train was in Arkham Knight instead of the Batmobile? Do people remember the Bat-Train? It's pretty epic.
Did you know my pfp is in batman arkham knight
totally, dude
What if peacemaker was in the boys and marvel universe
What if Joker was in Arkham Knight like Harley Quinn's men finds the lazarus pit and Harley has an idea to bring back the Joker so she carrys the jokers body to the pit and the Joker finally returns during or after events of arkham knight
Prob nobody would believe or take at seriously, if you walk around Gotham in arkham knight you will see a lot of paint of batman, and in all of them he looks like a mythical creature, they don’t thing batman is a human, you can see this in some dialogs along the series too.
How’s your vacation Gp
amazing video
I've been having these ideas and no outlet for them so I'm going to leave them here.
1. We need a game with the batman of the dark knight returns. I think that this would not only be awesome but also not even that difficult sense the fucking story is already written and you already have the mechanics in place from the arkham games
2. There should be a game where bruce goes undercover in the mob as matches malone. It would be a mystery type deal like those old nancy drew computer games. I think we need a strong story based game with less brawling and tech and more of the "world's greatest detective".
I've been writing these down in my notes app for a year but someone should make these a reality someday
Wonder how that would Affect the storyline of Arkham Knight or that sad excuse of a Suicide Squad game
Actually . . . I agree with this whole theory 100%! The scarecrow batman could still happen at the ending with the existing timeline.
My wishlist in this "What If" timeline though: Batman returns with a new Robin in tow, Damien Wayne. Tim Drake gets to have a heated gamer moment and get upset he got replaced, Red hood gets re-validated by saying "Look he did it again, he replaced you!", Time Drake could have a side quest ark where he becomes Red Robin, and at the end, it could tease a potential sequel of a Damien Wayne Beyond game that would eventually get cancelled in place of a SSKTJL game.
Yo Gotham paladin can you please make an another arkham theory because we know that in arkham city every villain was interviewed by strange like Mr freeze two face joker but if im not mistaken there are fourvillains who were active in arkham city but strange never interviewed them like hush killer croc scarecrow and bane can you please explain why?
Forgot about zsasz😮
8:30 also to back that part up , There's already evidence of that Gotham Knights. I know we don't like talking about the game but Bruce was going in That game and in the story we still see him building stuff for the bat family
12:26 And also I know gotham knights Not cannon I'm just using it as an example
please make a what if story about what if arkham knight was in arkham city. pwetty pwetty pwease 😢
