  • In the short list of K-1 champions, Mark Hunt is the rare one to jump into the ring straight out of a night club and conquer the World Grand Prix. Today, we recall Hunt's triumphant K-1 journey, one that made him that very Super Samoan: the king of walk-off knockouts.

      he took multiple ones in that fight which is nuts ,, big nog another iron chin ( it eventually failed as he got older) also ate a high kick and tapped crocop via armbar

      people dont understand how Samoans have the hardest chins ever. Look at David Tua, Mark Hunt and Max Halloway... all have historically stout chins... David Tua literally ate right hands from Lennox Lewis for 12 rds and didn't even blink... Max Halloway has never been hurt in his decade plus of fighting in the UFC, and doesnt even have a single official knockdown, though Gaethje did drop him with a flash knockdown that wasnt counted.

    • @ampinghard111
      @ampinghard111 6 днів тому

      @@user-vc6 before Hunt and David Tua got old, they literally ate anything that was every thrown at them... those samoan genetics produce the best chins on the planet... Tua ate punches from a Lennox Lewis that was almost a foot taller and 30 lbs heavier, and didnt even blink.... Lennox Lewis said nobody ever made him feel like his punches weren't doing anything the way David Tua did... not to mention Max Halloway is the only fighter in the UFC to go over a decade without even being knocked down officially, let alone KOd or stopped.

    I loved Mark Hunt in the UFC. He seemed like a very laid-back guy who just happened to punch the shit out of people for a living. The amount of punishment he could and did absorb was ridiculous, and his power was amazing. The thing I respected the most about him is how he never dove onto an opponent once he laid him out and started hammerfisting until the ref pulled him off. He knew when he'd laid someone out before the referee did and didn't take any gratuitous extra shots. That's really rare in MMA. I hope he has a long and happy retirement, though with the sheer amount of blows he got hit with, I'm worried he'll end up like so many combat sports athletes, crippled by CTE and similar things.
