Final Fantasy XII Judge Bergan Boss Battle. FF12. FFXII. Final Fantasy XII Zodiac Age.
That monologue at the start. God, I love this game.
Not only you
Yessss
The entire script for this game is godlike.
@@BlazeReborn2 you should have a check mark after your name just for that comment alone. But we also cannot forget to give credit to the original ost as well.
@@BlazeReborn2 for real I enjoyed the dialogue just like with game of throne
What I love about this fight is how crazy Bergan sounds the first time you play, but on that second play-through... Wow, he starts to make sense and you really understand what he means.
He wanted for the best of Archadia, however he believes in pure destruction to ensure a slate clean for Archadia to rule the entire Ivalice.
Its because the gods (Occuria) were the evil guys all along?
@@gatocoomer8015 Occuria always wanted to be in control of fates but Bergan never pledge himself to Occuria, he only pledge to the strongest and he choose Vayne to be his master. He allows Venat to be it's vessel in order to show the world that there's no peace, only destruction follows those who don't submits to the strongest.
This is only a good idea if all people could live without a god. Most cannot. Most people must have a god in their life, and they will find one. Hence why so many atheists are not truly without a god. They just see themselves, or more often, the State as the new mortal god to serve. Unless there is a very effective defence against that, then destroying mythical religion won't acheive anything. It will just be replaced by secular religion.
@@Novarcharesk The difference is that anything in the real world can be disproven using reason. If a capital "G" God says something is so, you are forced to accept it. If you make yourself or the State your "god" they are limited and susceptible to the real world. As this relates to XII, this is exactly what Vayne was planning to do; become a human-chosen Dynast-King to bring peace with near-mortal extinction the Occuria wanted. The point of XII's plot is that mortals do not need a "god" of any kind -- real or imagined. Peace is possible.
i swear 12 had the BEST script writing and voice acting.
without a doubt.
But not best story ...
@@Iychoenk that goes to tactics but out of all the other final fantasy games Xii is by far one of the best
@@Iychoenk better than the anime ass plot ff7 has
@@Iychoenk the best story by far, name me one ff with a better plot
HARK! The voiceover booth hails its new king, GARY MARTIN! He shall defy the will of the directors and see the reins of the script back in the hands of Man!
His voice was epic. Wish he was in more things. Last time I looked it was all old tv shows
Bergan seems like he was just a wordy fanatic in the first playthrough, but after the plot unravels, you realize that it isn't just empty belief. The man was truly someone that saw the writing on the wall. He was definitely more intelligent than the brute he was portrayed to be.
He was intelligent and a sadistic sociopath too.
Yep. Even the way he gestures during his speech makes him appear to be a lunatic. I love it
One of the best speeches by a villain in any game. HAAAAAARK!!!
Bergan REALLY likes his job.
Ah, yes. No fancy moves, no cutscene ultimate half way through their health bar like other bosses. Just a brutal 6 hit combo that always wiped my party.
Judge Bergan never knew what turn based was.
He plays ffxv
Yep. Most FF bosses you can kinda naturally progress to and beat, but with Bergan I'm like aight, better make sure my whole party is at x level before I go up there
@@BaconFrisbee Bergan: Repeatedly punches Vaan.
"He's already dead! Stoppppp!!!"
Swear to God, only turn he knew was his turn.
the power of 6 hit combo is the power of man. A weapon forged by his wisdom, who would challenge the gods themselves. A fitting blade for a true Dynast-King.
this was one of the first cutscenes I seen before its first release of 2006 and I gotta say this shouted out HYPE
The "I didn't like the story" people couldn't get past Bergan
They said they not like the story because they already finished it
Jeeze, that 6 hit combo from Bergan right before victory. Was not expecting that.
They should really make the Judges harder to kill. They're too badass to fall so easily!
Bergan is actually a huge bitch to kill if you don't know what you're doing. The guy hits like a truck, and having 3 lesser Judges attack you from behind to start doesn't help things at all.
Yeah they intentionally gave Bergan low HP due to his strength and evasion.
I had a hard time because I cared to much about the story and didn’t farm enough experience. Guy wiped the floor with me.
Trial 100 against all 5 Judge Magisters is truly the hardest fight in the game if you do not decide to cheese it with Zeromus.
They were harder in the original game, like nearly every boss. Zodiac Age made the game easier for some reason.
That Rozarrrian guy reminds me to Luis Sera from Resident Evil 4.
Pyt SudranVilgan cause the Rozarian Empire its a reflexion of the old Spanish Empire.
4:35 That LUNGE
So glad the Spell Queue's gone. To see Ashe casting a Curaga while a Judge uses a Water Spout on a character is an incredible sight to see after playing IZJS so long and getting annoyed of having one person to cast Renew and waiting for it to finish so that the other can use Steal.
I can't wait to see how three scathes will look like. :)
That's the first thing I hoped for, 3 Scathes.
It's legit one after another. The game can't (or won't) process three spell animations like that. Easily exploitable, too.
3 CHEERS FOR SCATHE
First FF game I ever played and it STILL has the best combat system.
Each judge is more charismatic than all of the protagonist party put together, but they are weak i remember to basically oneshot with a myst combo Bergan.
yeah, and that's not the worst of it... win that fight and you unlock a harder game mode where you DO NOT LEVEL UP.
so clearing that same fight again will be a pain in the ass
I always theorized that you can beat the game at level 1 with the proper licenses, so I guess it's time to put that to the test lol
John Cortelli no need to theorize people done it before :P
Didn't know youtube existed back when I first played the game so :P
Each judge ins't more charismatic than at least Balthier. Then again, Balthier used to be a Judge. XD
I guess I agree with you. They were weak though, granted for sure.
You have to be a poet and have studied Shakespeare to become a judge, it's why they are so eloquent when they speaketh!
Best FF that i ever played!!
No handholding.
Agreed
Truely, the best!
I envious, i didn't enjoy this game at all
@@chairkun9139 it's a refined cup of tea not to everyone's taste.
The Judges, The coolest collection of bad guys since The Turks in FF7
Adam Shalashaska someone in Square Enix has a thing for armored baddies. Garland (I), Golbez (IV), Exdeath (V)... then went all out with the Ivalice Alliance judges.
Mr. Clean Up Well, wearing armor is nice... It protects you and a closed helmet can dehumanize the appearance of an enemy.
Except for Judge Zargabaath. He is the only sane among the Judges. Even ready to die for Rabanastre by attempting to ram his Ship, the Alexander, into the Bahamut.
@@migjordanpayawal7856 you mean Arcadian Imperial Judge Magisters, right?
@@CheomaNozomigabranth : conflicted, drace : good, zargabaath : good, ghis : evil bergan : total evil
Duuude is it just me or does that dude look like a Bloodborne hunter. He has the saw cleaver and his helmet looks like the feathered hat you wear.
Yup, thought the same thing!
no this boss is probly the hardest boss you half to face next to gabarnth who will kick your ass in the end game
SuperYorkProductions it's the helmet.
My favorite strat for this fight is using Oil and spamming Fira... Not sure if it still works in the Remake....
topdog2007 Oh please. Judge Bergan was easy. Nowhere near the hardest boss in this game.
loved this ff so much , just needed war mechanic in this game (massive npc against each othet with objective) also vossler as protagonist
I came for the speech, I stayed for the fight.
God I fucking love his voice.
my favourite judge
The script writing for this game is incredible. Over a decade on, and few have come close to the complexity and level of articulation found in Final Fantasy 12. Amusingly, I think the only one which comes to mind is Final Fantasy 16.
0:22 WHOOO!
I absolutely love his & Frans voice soo much
The archaic dialogues kinda remind me of FF Tactics
I enjoyed killing him so much after he killed Drace and Anastasis xd
Me too, he was a ruthless bastard. He didn't killed Drace directly but he laughed when she was killed.
Hark!!! He means serious business
I love how all 3 of the judge bosses in the base game feel the need to dual wield weapons
I still say FF10 is the best game in the series but, wow! I love the writing for this game! This game feels kinda like Star Wars and Lord of the rings combined
Jonathan Pretty FFX best in the series? Oooof
@@harrydrake4173 eh, it's my favorite one. Who cares?
@@harrydrake4173 it had the most lovable cast, which goes a long way to impress the minds of the players. Since the stories are ever only remotely connected from one FF to another, I never felt guilty at having started with 9, which I loved, then playing 10, which blew my mind back then (it also helped that I was a teenager back then so the main characters being around my age made it relatable). 11 was the first MMO type they did so I never touched it, and made use of emulators instead to play all the old ones.
It was then that I finally got to play 12, only a scant few years after its release. It impressed me even more than 10 had, it was gorgeous at the time, being released at the end of the PS2's life cycle it had perhaps some of the best graphics you ever saw on that machine, and that running nearly flawlessly in a game with a beautifully detailed, vast open world. The story was so good that I loved it all despite recognizing that the characters you spent the most time playing as were kind of bleak, though to Vaan's justice, his pov parts were engaging enough up until Basch spills the whole truth out to him, afterwards he just merely feels like a sidekick comedic relief.
I guess the story was actually meant to play out like that, each act had a different character it mainly focused on, but to RPG players it's not easy to ask them to somehow relate to 6 or 7 different people, some of whom might not have been written the most interesting way. A good example would be GRRM's ASOIAF series, vs something like Hobb's Farseer Trilogy. ASOIAF is by far the better story, epic in both scope, style and drama, while Farseer has a much more relatable MC, by virtue of said MC being written from an first person perspective and the story beginning with him as a sort of blank slate at 5 years old, vs ASOIAF's endless cast of characters all written from in a mix of first and third person perspectives, many with their lives previous to the story's beginning already full of history, faults and virtues.
I beat this game yesterday and i want to play it again lol.
Hows the Story?
@@Iychoenk excellent you won’t be disappointed
Back on ps2 I loved this game so much I bouth 3 disks to complete atleast 75 % of it.
Ah yes Judges I remember the time the Judge system is so broken in Tactics Advance freakin you can't damage animals in a battlefield filled with animals welp gotta use that Almighty card
Sheeeit he killed the Pope! Lmao!
He was the hardest judge out of him, Guis, and Gabranth. Bergan was merciless.
Meh. I daresay Gabranth still takes the cake. While Bergan is a bitch with his evasive counters and ridiculous speed boost in critical condition, but Gabranth with his unlimited combo works attack for example still made me struggle more. That said, after the beating the game once I decided to farm Seitengrats, so bosses are nothing to worry about anymore. 4 shots and Bergan was dead
C'mon. 1 of those almost breaks the game, but farming them?
And I agree, in the original I very much struggled with both Bergan and Gabranth. Those 12 hit combos of 400-500 damage per hit were really annoying. But if I scale those 2 down to the same level and equipment you have access to, I daresay Bergan might be a bigger challenge, since you lack proper healing magic and his almost instant charge time + evasive unlimited range counters make him a pain to deal with
in ps2 he was CBT
@maddocstein6807 🕊️ Did you do a No Quickening Run of the game, including Judge Ghis? 🇧🇷
This guy looks straight out of bloodborne and I love it
What's the name of the song that plays at the very beginning starting at the cutscene?
LaekoStormz Agitation
Frogmouth helmet, he shouldnt be able to move his head XD
Bro is the protagonist
Awesome!! they changed the HUD around, you can see your magic and health easier, though theres really no point getting a remastered when i m playing the original. in my opinion anyway. I think I might of beaten this guy by luck on level 29/30 lol
Nah, Zodiac Age is the definitive version of the game. Between the QoL changes and new content there's no reason to ever touch the vanilla or IZJS versions of the game.
I second that FFXII:TZA is worth it. FFXII is my 3rd favorite game out of the series (FFTactics being 2nd!) the changes in the battle system makes it significantly better. The Trials, NG+ and NG- are great features included as they make up the lack of difficulty (except for NG+). And the remastered orchestrated music is so amazing. The Ivalice games has some of my favorite songs in the series so it's refreshing to hear it all orchestrated. Basically it's like reliving the experience of playing for the first time again. So... If you really enjoyed FFXII, The Zodiac Age is definitely worth it.
Is this worth it
Best game ever!
Just dawned on me, this has the same story as Starcraft II...
You can steal a Ruby Ring from Bergan.
I want to speak like Bergan
HARK
This boss is quite difficult
Fran I love you fgs
lol why is ashe casting fire ....
You can cast spells in Final Fantasy games.
Hashmal is the only Earth-elemental esper to summon in Final Fantasy 12,
And there’s no Earth Spells in that game.
You’ll have to use Earth based weapons like the Cypress Pole,
The Gaia Rod,
Mud Shot,
Artemis Arrows,
And the Koga Blade in the Zodiac versions.
wait isn't this the bozja theme? :D
ok
5:49
The clickbait looks like it has been taken from Bloodborne XD
Stop remastered
it's not a remaster, it's a remake god damnit
it's a remaster, they didn't remake all assets and graphic systems for this.
Also a remake would mean to tear it down and start from the ground up, graphics, mechanics, retouch the story, for example in remake they could make Vaan and Penelo more relevant, integrate them better to the plot.
that's said Vaan and Penelo position is perfect as it is :P
You're all backwards Slav
There is nothing about this game that would make it a remake. It uses all the same assets, and the same base code as the original, just all updated. That is a remaster. A remake would be a complete rebuild from the ground up, with completely new assets, completely new code, and often (but not necessarily) a fair old amount of change to the way the game will play. The FFVII remake is a good example of the difference between a remake and a remaster.
that what I hate about this game. ..I'm the god. .falling god. .. destroying the god. ..God. .god god god. ..in the end. .hero win. ...wtf 😠🖕
محمد المنصوري Nice try troll.
awful trolling
محمد المنصوري thats all off ff though
