    My theory is Jacob saw what the guy Patz did to Ben from start to finish but just didn’t say anything. Maybe because he felt Ben deserved it or he enjoyed what he saw. It would explain the fingerprint on ben’s jacket. It’s no denying Jacob has violent tendencies, the story he wrote, the videos he watched on his laptop, the picture he posted during the trial, and the situation at bowling alley when he was younger. He said the picture he post was joke but it’s a lot of truth in a joke, plus how could he have so many details to be able to write at story. I believe what he saw Patz do he wanted to do himself but didn’t have the nerve. Patz was definitely involved why did he have those pictures and why was he so happy when he knew the police had Jacob. I would go as far to say Patz knew Jacob was watching and they shared a glance with each other while in the woods. Patz didn’t come after Jacob cause he knew they were same. I believe Jacob is violent but not violent enough to kill, he just has a sick side to him that needs therapy

    It is deliberately ambiguous on which of the three main suspects did it. Pats, the PDF file, clearly was doing something wrong with Ben. Derek’s mom lied to the cops about his alibi, we know this because he took Sarah Ben’s phone that he stole from him on the day of the murder. And Jacob wrote a detailed description of the murder and posted it online. All three had motive, means and opportunity. It is supposed to make people question.

      I would disagree. If he were a sociopath, he wouldn't have really cared about the two girls. In both situations relating to the females in the story, he specifically got his feeling hurt. And not in the vain way that a sociopath would. It wasn't his Ego that they bruised, they genuinely hurt him. Also, the last girl is the indication that he isn't actually violent. Because he fought with a girl in an obscure place with possibly no witnesses and simply walked away. The kid that pointed the finger at Jacob has serious questions surrounding everything. If I were to guess. Jacob has more in common with someone who has Autism like myself than a genuine sociopath.
      However, the show is intentionally ambiguous. The boy that accused Jacob, his mother, obviously lied about his alibi. Right? How did he get the phone? It's not like the kid would have just given it to him. Then you have the creep, is it really a coincidence that he is in the park? With direct ties to the victim, that he deleted? And Jacob has a fingerprint. All three characters share motive, means, and proximity.

Ben was attack from behind so there’s a chance that no blood got on his clothes but what about his hands? He would need to wash his hands completely free of any blood and his knife.
      Jacob does look to be the suspect but the people immediately viewing him as guilty even before the trial is the dumbest thing even in real life. You’re assumed guilty and have to prove your innocence.

    The story doesn't give enough for the viewer to make a conclusion. It shows glimpses of evidence that it could have been Patz, Jacob or Derek. Interesting story line and plot twists, but the ending doesn't want the viewer to know who the killer was. It seems the point of the movie is that all of the main characters are flawed, dishonest and in some way capable of the worst. Pretty bleak and dark take on the human condition.

    I don't believe that you can really say if the son did it. Toddlers believe that they can be washed down the drain. It's not a stretch to think at such a young age that he still thought in cartoon terms. Also, violent video games etc. are a part of our macho society. Teen boys are exposed to all kinds of things. I can really say that I do not know if the son did it. I've seen people convicted on how they acted after something horrible happened to them. Everyone acts differently. When people are in shock not reacting is a coping mechanism. Sometimes you have to wait until you get home to fall apart. I have always found this a dubious reason to convict someone. The main thing that I did find incriminating is the fact that he wrote that story about the murders after it happened. That is problematic.

      Agreed. And everyone's reaction to anything is not a "one size fits all" It annoys me when a detective in any show or documentary re-enactment says "we know someone else was driving the car because the seat was pushed back" I am a short person who has to sit up close to drive but anytime I am parked or waiting in the car I immediately push the seat all the way back to relax. I don't put the seat back until I get back in the car. Also, when they say "he/she knew the attacker because there was no forced entry" that's another assumption that may or may not be correct. Years ago I was walking home, as I crossed the street there was a man walking down the sidewalk in front of me on a north to south direction caddy corner from me. He wasn't looking at me and did not feel like a threat in the middle of the day. I crossed in front of him about a hundred feet in distance in an East to west direction headed to my apt's side door. I opened the door and went in. He must have moved quickly because he closed the gap pretty fast, opening my door and coming in my apt right behind me. I just stood there staring at him in shock. Then my 3 Kids 4, 10, and 12 years old, my adult babysitter and her boyfriend entered the room all staring at him too. He left. Since then I lock my door behind me (I try 100%) every time, even in the daytime. I know other people do not typically do this, because of how annoyed they are, that I do.So that too, is a maybe they knew the attacker maybe they didn't situation, not a concrete clue. And- I always freeze when being accused by harsh words and I am unable to speak while it's happening. I don't like confrontation so I don't respond until later when no one is yelling anymore. This is often seen as "you didn't have anything to say to defend yourself, so whatever you're trying to say now is a lie" once again as harsh accusation renders me speechless, I have plenty to say, but no one will listen later. No matter how many times I replay what I should've said in my head, I didn't speak up when it mattered. Finally, the video game violence is a seriously bad influence on our youth. I learned by the time I was in School, that cartoon violence was supposed to "not be taken seriously, because irl, people get hurt, so we don't act like that" it's supposed to be funny. Toys do not come alive at night, and only birds can fly. We are taught that until it makes sense to us as we mature. That takes time. Considering the "one size fits all" conclusions are not true, where the guilt lies here is anyone's guess bcuz it is a movie. But I'm gonna agree with you, the story he wrote, the picture posted, and the fact he continued his social media is highly suspect. Really? Are you confident your dad can get you out of this trouble, self sabotaging, or just stupid!?! IRL, these things cause police to zero their focus onto who they "like" for it, and stop looking at the derek and patz of the situation- who could also be guilty for just as many reasons.

    • @yevgeniyaleshchenko849
      @yevgeniyaleshchenko849 2 місяці тому

      Macho society? Lol, what kind of society do you live in? Also, do you think only boys are ''exposed'' to video games and violence or that games can trully make someone a murderous psychopath? I do agree that people react differently and we can't measure someone's guilt or innocence based of a seeming lack of or delayed reaction (which is a defence mechanism that you say and therefore not ''abnormal'')

Jacob by virtue of bullying. The other Student took the phone somehow, and I doubt the victim would have just given it up, and the creep absolutely knew and had a fascination for the victim. All 3 have equal motive, all 3 can be established to have had contact with the victim, all three had to be close to the victim. 1. BY Fingerprint. 2. By admitting to being in the park 3. By necessity to steal the phone which means his mother lied about his alibi.
      HOWEVER. One person in this story has a MUCH clearer motive and ties to more people within the story. Who also has very subtly written signs of guilt. Sarah. She has the most pressing reason to commit the crime. The creep, based on info in the story, was likely on his way to meet the victim. But they had an arrangement. So he doesn't need to kill them. Jacob may have genuinely found him and made sure he was ok, and when he found the kid was dead, he ran away. Was he actually in a happier mood or not? Maybe, but people sometimes do get happy in grim situations because they are reminded they are alive. They usually feel guilty about that feeling later.
      But wait... Who said he was happier? Who pointed the finger? Who loved the girl that had the most reason to do this? Why was that girl genuinely sorry that Jacob was involved? How was she SO SURE of his innocence? Jacob's story is problematic, but we have signs he isn't an actual sociopath and is probably more akin to being autistic. It's his reactions to both scenarios where the two different girls in the stories hurt him. He doesn't react with anger, he reacts with genuine sadness.
      If I try to read through the intentional ambiguity of the show, there is a clear pattern toward Sarah and Derek actually being guilty of the crime. There is even the possibility that Jacob may not have written the story at all. He just didn't want to tell on Sarah. She was there around the same time the story would have been uploaded. Regardless, out of EVERYONE with genuine motive based on the evidence Derek and Sarah have the most motive for this murder. But I'm no cop and I'm certainly not smart. SO. I'm probably wrong.

    How do you make a movie and not have the ending at least hinting at who really did it. J know the director that our would be a cool idea to leave it to the audience but he was wrong in doing so, should of at the end shown something that would of insinuated who the killer was

    • @Andain_83
      @Andain_83 8 місяців тому +4

      @Jetsfan Absolutely agree with you there! To me, in not doing that, it almost let's all three of the suspects off the hook since everything could be deemed circumstantial at that point. As an audience trying to keep up with all the clues and breadcrumbs they toss us, to not even leave the bag which previously held said crumbs at SOMEBODY'S doorstep, is beyond frustrating! I don't want to just guess and/or speculate--that's rediculously pointless if I'm not given a reliable seed of fault from the dang writers themselves. Because only THEY know who the true killer/killers was! Ugh 🤨😒🤫
