Dormmamu: Kills strange thousands upon thousands of times over.
Fistof Heavens Dr Strange was significantly more powerful when he was fighting Thanos to be fair, seeing as though he’d basically mastered his powers while fighting Dormammu for millions of years. But yeah, Dormammu’s more powerful than Thanos
When was it implied that strange stood a chance against dormammu? Within that time
Strange Beat Dormamu with one Stone,and thanos has six Stones. Also Thanos can Destroy the whole Universe with the gaunlet so he is stronger.

In the comics, it is shown that the Gauntlet doesn't work outside of its own dimension, which Dormammu lives outside of. Also, Strange never 'beat' Dormammu, he just stalemated him, by losing countless times.

Ramon Munoz Yea he is placed way to low he should be 2 under Dormammu without infinity stones.
He killed a bunch of his children. How many exactly we don’t know but I’d wager at least a few hundred, maybe a few thousand. His weird plants probably didn’t kill all that many people, certainly not trillions. We’d have to know how many planets he infected, how big the plants got on each world, and how many people were around each one. Basically, there’s no way to know exactly, but it’s probably safe to say that he hadn’t killed that many people.
@@Aplesedjr I've seen the trillions estimate passed around a lot, I think there must be a source for it or it just appeared out of thin air. Then again Dr Strange uses the word "trillions" when he talks to Thanos about the Decimation, so it's hard to tell how many planets with life exist in the MCU: is it a few hundred, or trillions?
taj x when talking about the entire universe, it’s safe to say trillions is accurate. Especially in the marvel universe, where you could throw a stone and it could hit a planet with intelligent life. Honestly, the trillions estimate could be inaccurate in the opposite direction of the estimate about ego. We’re talking about an entire universe, so trillions is probably way too small. We’re talking at least a few quadrillion.
Remember when the goo stuff started expanding and killing people? That was probably happening on tons of planets other than earth, so if you add up the few hundred deaths on every single one of the planets ego had visited, it could possibly be in the thousands, maybe millions. I'd say even billions is pushing it, and trillions is just untrue

Only the time stone works like they said. The infinity gauntlet is universal and is not multidimensional therefore it would not work. Only the time stone would work. Power cannot do anything to dormmamu since he cannot be physically harmed. There really isn’t reality in the dark dimension and he controls all of it.

I had exactly the same reaction at dormammu
They should have been clearer about how they were ranking the villains in this list. I do not believe they are ranking them by physical strength/power/etc, but by how well they worked as a villain in the movies.
Mandarin sucked as a villain; Dormammu was only in the movie at the end to be thwarted; Killian had an awful reason to be a villain; and Whiplash is completely forgettable because of Justin Hammer.
On the other end of the list: Zemo tore the Avengers apart; Loki is fantastic in every movie; Red Skull is a super nazi; and Killmonger can say the ‘N’ word.

If you read the whole dormammu part the writer says: “his powers certainly over-take most villains on this list” so this list is more or less built on the fact how much trouble the heroes had at defeating the villains

even if that is what this list is based on it still dosent make sense to call it most powerful mcu villains because the hero they face is always somewhat comparable to them in strength. sure black panther struggled against killmonger and got his ass beat but I'm pretty sure of he was fighting doctor strange or wanda he would get killed in like 3 seconds. a villain ant-man struggles with is not even remotely comparable to a villain who someone like Doctor Strange would struggle with
Hela was like significantly more powerful than Thor and Thor was at least as strong as Thanos, maybe stronger. Vanilla Thanos with no power stones or only a few would lose to Hela big time.

Ragnarok Thor was fighting hulk with high difficulty and only turned the battle when he entered his god of thunder state. But even then it wasn’t one-sided. But in infinity war the fight between hulk and thanos was completely one sided and he didn’t use the stone at all. And furthermore his own crew said that it was fun for him. And even furthermore thor was already defeated at the beginning and the one shot that Thor took at thanos didn’t do anything. Think man think before you comment

I think the funniest thing is that if you stripped dormammu of all of his powers and just had him as a large monster type villain he would still be significantly higher than where he is on the list

And they worked from the alternate universe they got them from in Endgame. Clearly the "home dimension only" rule isn't present in the MCU.

@@kinqmail1204The gauntlet is nothing but a vessel for the stones. Iron Man's suit is perfectly capable of using the stones and it wasn't even designed to hold them, nor did it have any special properties. It was just nanobots holding the stones.

The infinity gauntlet doesn't work in other universes. Dimensions are not other universes, they are branches/layers of the same universe. The dark dimension and our own dimension exist within the same physical universe and thus the gauntlet would most certainly work in the dark dimension. We already saw the time stone do so.

It does now. As of Endgame, Infinity Stones from other realities work in the main MCU timeline, so Thanos would easily wipe out Dormammu. Plus the Dark Dimension is part of the Main MCU universe, not a different one altogether.
@@kvp6268 I mean, the infinity stones are op, not thanos. So why rank thanos over dormammu when other beings can also wield the IG. The IG(or infinity stones in general) isn't exclusive to thanos so it does not make sense to rank him over Dormmamu.
In end game they can be used in different realities to mix the comics and MCU together they are totally different

They have Malekith and Ronan, two characters that nearly everyone agrees are the worst villains in the MCU, near the top. Not to mention they have some of the best, Alexander Pierce and Iron Monger at the bottom.

Gaius Wyrden if ultron could figure out a way to plant his AI into the brain of ego then he could easily outclass him. Ultron ends up taking over an entire universe in on of the comics

I fell like for the most part, this list is moreso “villains ranked by who came the closest to accomplishing their goals.” Still some exceptions, but if you look at it that way it makes a bit of sense

Considering neither one of them are aware of the other's weakness, it's safe to say it'll be an endless battle until one of them gives in. Hela is a master strategist/tactician and combatant. Ego is master manipulator with genius-level intellect (being millions of years old).

I would actually say hela would be above thanos, because by the rules set from the mcu (not from the comic) she has seemingly unlimited power as long as asgard stands, that accounts for her daggers that we can safely assume is made of uru metal which is proven to hurt(even cut) thanos and environmental manipulation that reside to the confines of asgard. In the movie ragnarok, thor looked like he was able to 1v1 hela, but even thor knew that he would eventually ware out because hela's power is to be ulimitated until the structural integrity of asgard is broken, I know thanos is strong, even proven to be stronger than hulk, but unless thanos's strength alone is able to go blow to blow destroying asgard structures while also enduring Hela's barrage of seemingly ulimitied uru metal daggers plus the platform manipulation,( allowing the undead army is debatable but if you did that you would have to take in account the army of asgardian warriors with uru metal swords), AND Hela has her powerful sorcery which was able to brake thor's hammer, so it seems rather unlikely thanos would be the winner

We still haven't seen Thanos use his energy manipulation/projection, telekinesis/telepathy in the films. Granted he has no feats of it but that doesn't mean he can't. He prefers to melee battle but what if he's totally on the ropes and breaks out those aces up his sleeve? It's hypothetical but no reason to suspect he's not capable of it.
I don't think he is capable of his comic powers within the MCU.

I know this is way too late but oh well. Really enjoyed the video and had a few thoughts:
I completely agree that the way they described this list ‘as weakest to strongest’ doesn’t make any sense with how they structured the list. One thing I thought when reading the author’s descriptions is that it might be meant to say who is a tough and consequential adversary, in the context of the films and their heroes at the time. When they were describing Michael keaton’s character and his threat of doing anything to protect his family, when I watched that scene again recently, you really feel threatened that Peter, or at least his loved ones were in a position where it would be really hard for them all to escape danger. To a teenager with powers but vulnerable family, a desperate dad with means who knows your identity, is much more dangerous than if he was threatening an adult, with connections, support network or maybe even being invulnerable to his weapons maybe like Thor. An enemy against all of the avengers either has to be incredibly and maybe even uniquely powerful, or very stealthy and under the radar. Using their strength as a group as a weakness, by pitting them against each other and not fighting directly. Hope this makes sense. I think for dr Strange, his enemy is comparable to how they would fight each other and the same for black panther (I’m awful at remembering names 🙁). The list still doesn’t really make sense as each villains’ powers are still just as powerful as how you’d structure them, but maybe it makes a bit more sense this way. Which villain was closest to winning in each film?

That still doesn't justify the Iron Man villain rankings, or the three villains without powers at the bottom. Pierce should have shot way up in that case, and Zemo kind of won in Civil War, which would place him 2nd to Thanos.

Dormamu was VERY difficulty. The time to defeat it was uncalculable.

When it got to Killmonger I started to wonder if somehow the scale of strength was relative to the hero that each villain fought. Like Killmonger he actually defeated Black Panther in a 1v1, so he was pretty strong. Compared to Dormammu who was defeated quite quickly from Dr. Strange's impressively inventive plan. Even if the list was based on this it was still pretty terribly done, but I'd enjoy seeing a list that tried to rate villains based on how much they gave the hero a run for his money in combat.
