I have this little guy in D2 and the pivot isn’t that way - the show side is the actual pivot (with the barrel) and the back side screws out like you’d expect it to. My action was great out of the box but after a cleaning and lube it was incredible! On my reassembly I tightened everything all the way down and came out with perfect centering and the most glorious action, If the blade were any heavier it would fall shut. The McKenna is my first front flipper and I couldn’t be happier with it, WE has done a great job with this model! Thanks for your review of this guy, Nick. After watching it I made the purchase and I absolutely love it.
I own this knife and it's a sweet little piece especially with that polished raindrop pattern although it is not damasteel brand damascus it is a stainless Damascus made with WE proprietary blend of 9cr18mov. It is pretty affordable imo for what you get however if it was actual damasteel I imagine it would cost at least twice as much! great review interesting to see the internals as I have not had the need to take mine apart yet. I also own the plethoris in Damascus and Civivi is putting out some nice things at a great value!
Hey Nick I know this is a bit old but I just got my (non Damascus) version and the disassembly is different, namely the pivot isn't the same. Wondering if you took down the other version as well and had the same thing.
Me watching Nick flip the knife over and take the body screw out of the show side , Noooooooooooo , and something simple became complicated . If you remove the pivot screw and the body screw above the clip , the knife comes apart easily , no fuss , no muss , no pry tools .
Put Elmax or S30V on it and I'm in. Crmov and all the alphabet soup steels or so inferior that they leave you frustrated in use. Too bad 'cause that's a great little knife otherwise.

0:49 The Nick catches himself and refrains from going full AKBro by declaring himself able to f@#& with that.
Love that knurled screwdriver. Mind sharing who makes it/where you got it?

I thought is was a chinese damascus steel and not damasteel?
I misspoke. I address this in the review
Just wanted to hear you say Nano Oil, is that strange?
Ugh... Rusty pliers. Shed tools also need care & maintenance too.
