You guys have never made a “how to” video like this before, and I gotta say that you knocked it outta the park! Also I wanna see the shakeyhands knife collection.
Thanks! More to come.👊
They did one other with a para 3 where they rit dyed scales and darkened the blade w/ apple cider vinegar but it was much more free form and less scripted but i get what you're saying.
Pretty sure they did one where they showed you how to dye g-10
@@BladeHQ I'd recommend showing how to acid etch and stonewash blades with ferric acid and a jar of rocks as well as copper plating. Both are fairly easy diy customization projects. Could also probably do some engraving
@@BladeHQ could i replace the 9 volt batteries with a car battery charger?
I was already pretty familiar with anodizing, but this is by far the most straight forward and beginner friendly video I've seen on it using regular household supplies. Great job.
Serializing up to the voltage you need by simply clicking 9V blocks together is brilliant!
I did something similar a while back, got the voltage up to 176volts lol
I was working for an electrical contractor 15 years ago and I worked the service side. Every year around Halloween we would go into all the apartments we were responsible for servicing and replace the 9V batteries. At the end of it all we would series up the batteries. FYI the batteries start arcing through each other a little over 300 volts. The batteries will start to smoke when you close the circuit.
DaHotRod1 what colour did it turn out?
Do you have to use ti wire ?
@@jordanmyers0326 you need a titanium cathode, yes
I've said it before, but this is the content. You guys rock.
Thanks man👊
Agreed
*This process only works with titanium.*
how do we do it with stainless steel?
@@mediarare1014 Doubt you'd be able to because of stainless' ability to prevent oxidisation, which is what's needed in this process. You could pull it off with Aluminium as well as Titanium from doing a search, but Stainless Steel, or even Carbon Steel don't agree with the process and won't come out like above.
@@Reploidx9 ok thanks bro
Yo is it cool if you put a link to all those tools including the batteries
Does the wire have to be titanium..?
This is super cool. Thanks for sharing guys!
Anyone else think they should already know how to anodize?
@@nargames CS doesnt sell anodized products
This is an amazing breath of fresh air, not that normal videos are getting stale or anything. The cool factor of learning is what stands out to me
I really appreciate you showing what common mistakes are and the results of them! So many how-to videos only show a perfect run.
I've searched for videos on titanium anodization many times but never found a good one. You guys delivered! Thank you!!
A very well made video and the fact you took the time to show other colors and how many batteries needed is top notch. Well done boys.
I'm super excited for the new series! I've been interested in customizing my knives, but wasn't knowledgeable about it and didn't want to ruin an expensive knife. Thanks guys!
Its interesting how Zac can make anything look amazing and not boring, i tried to watch some of these kind of tutorials on UA-cam before and i never watched them all the way thru but this one i did so i think Zac is doing something right.
Three cheers for a new series
This video inspired me to try it this weekend. I did two knives and I love the results on both. Thanks! P.S. a helpful tip: Whink rust remover takes off any prior anodizing, so if you mess up, it's super easy to start over.
Thank you for adding that tip. It’s greatly appreciated.
This is perfect, absolute home run with this little DIY anodization video guys!
This is an awesome how to video!! Can’t wait to try this. Looking forward to more “how to videos!!” This channel rocks!! And I have to mention, since recently finding this channel and awesome site you have transformed my blade addiction from a campfire to an all out wildfire!! Thank you!
A very professional video!
This is a great way to kick off this new series. I didn’t think it was difficult to anodize titanium. I’ve got a butterfly knife with titanium handles that will be getting a new look! Keep them coming!!!
Cool series! I just happen to be carrying my BHQ D2 CF Pilar today. I like that you kept it simple, but using etch (multi etch works best) and a power supply is a big step-up and isn't too expensive. Also, I find that having multiple points of contact with the part helps a lot... My favorite project so far is a Kizer Feist with blue scales and pink clip and back spacer
You’ve done it again! Couldn’t find a good video on this yesterday and here you are making a great one next day 👍🏼😂
We do what we can😎😁
Hey Blade HQ, that's a pretty sweet looking Pilar. Really cool concept and presentation, keep up the great work!

Definitely gonna try this out I've been flaming my Ti and can get pretty consistent results but theres always dark and light spots this method looks awesome for a nice perfect finish
Dude this was awesome! You guys are crushing it 👊👊
I loved this video! Not only was it simple to understand and follow along, but it also showed me everything I needed to know about the other aspects of the topic as well! Can't wait to see the next one!
Just tried it with my Kizer Kala and Spydiechef and it worked great! Makes them both look so much better. Thanks for the how to video and keep them coming please.
I have all titanium backpacking cookware and gear, now you got me thinking on what crazy stuff I could do to them.
Wow, I had no idea it was that easy! I'm so incredibly excited to try this!
That was wicked! Clear, concise and easy to follow. Killed it.
Absolutely LOVE this new series. You guys should do blade stone washing next, I've been looking for the best way to do it at home for a while now! Keep it up!!
I did this to the latch on my channel alpha beast and it turned out awesome! Great video.
I had a question but it was asked and answered leaving me only with this...
That was an awesome video with excellent content. Thank you very much for making this video and bringing this information to my attention.
This was pretty cool. I have seen tutorials on anodizing before but its rad that BladeHQ is doing these sort of videos now.
Blade HQ couldn't have timed this video more perfect for me. My spydie chef just arrived in the mail and I want to anodize the titanium scales! Thanks again for the awesome content blade HQ!!
New vid; New series!?!? Best birthday present ever 😍 love me some BHQ!!!
Happy Birthday!!!
Blade HQ thanks! What knife/knives should I get to celebrate? 🤔
I just anodized a suppressor doing this technique! Thanks for the great video. Mine came out excellent
Very cool video. Love the science behind it & that you showed you can erase it & start over. Also that you tested which chemicals work best. Thank you.
That was amazing I had no idea how easy it would be, Thank You for sharing.
The most useful and easy to follow tutorial among all. Thanks !
This was a major home run! Awesome how to video that demystifies anodization for all us knife nerds/DIY'ers.
Does it have to be a titanium wire ?
Just anodized my Spydiechef to a 27 volt blue with this video. It looks awesome! Thanks guys!
I can't believe how easy that was. Tried tonight 1st with a few batteries, then switched to a dc power supply I had. Results were awesome, thank you!
The video is excellent and the idea of a "how to" series really appeals to me. I'm looking forward to the next exciting episode!
Love the concept for the series. This first video was very informative and going to be a science project in my near future.
Not many videos actually say how to remove anodizing so that in of itself is amazing. Kudos on your first how to video being a grand slam.
Love to see more things like this really cool to customize your knife a bit more personalized
This was dopeee... I’m about to anodize a Twosun on my channel! Thanks for the tips!
👊
Great vid. Love customization ‘how to’ vids. Pls keep them coming.
I actually anodized the pivot collars on my Varga VBR-S. Quite easy to do and the Blade HQ blue turned out amazing!! 👍
Awesome video! I hope to see more like this in the future. I’m stoked to try it!
This video was Amazing Thank you BladeHQ 👍🏻✌🏻
this series is gonna be great, keep it up
Love these keep them coming recently started making knives got tired of spending all my money with blade hq ◉‿◉
I’m going to try this on a pocket clip or spacer. Just need to buy a titanium one! Keep up the good work. This was a fun change of pace.
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANKYOUUUUUU!!!!!! Ive been waiting for you guys to do this and its awesome!!!
I’ve anodized my 51 Morpho so many times... such a fun thing to do at home!
Wow guys! That’s so cool. I’m gonna be moving house to somewhere more open and that’s all I’m gonna be doing now. Buying titanium stuff for my knives and anodising!🤣🤣 can’t wait to try it out myself.
Good stuff! Don;t forget to make sure all lockbars and such are either removed or covered (clear nailpolish works great) cause if you have anything more conductive, it'll bypass the titanium. For higher voltage colors, also try and do both scales at the same time so they match, it never works QUITE the same twice
Happy new year! I refresh my feed and comment on the first video! Congrats! 🍾🎉
Love it! First video that convinced me that it reallyis easy to do it yourself 👍 Thanks 🙌
totally awesome video. Need a while series like these
Awesome color. Absolutely great HoTo. Thanks. Big thumbs up!
i will be anodizing my ZT 0801! thanks for the video didn't know it was that easy
More videos like this would be awesome!
Well done! This was a perfect how to.

Amazingly simple. Thanks so much.
That is the coolest thing EVER !!! I want a ZAC custom in purple .... ❤💜💜💜💜
You did a great job in this vid fellas . 👍👍.
I didn't know it was that simple. Thanks for the vid.
Favorite UA-cam video EVER!
Love these “how to knife” clips. You should do one on hydro dipping
great video, you explained super well and were super helpful
More of these!!!!!
I wanna see how to put a design on a blade or on the scales!
This is awesome, gonna have to try this out on my 0562
Great Video, thanks. Worked well on Titaner Skalpel and Boker Cox Backplate.
This video was awesome!
Going to try it this weekend!
Excellent job Guys👍🏼
Awesome video BHQ , now Iam going to anodized my Titanium plate in my head.
Thank you. Can't wait to try it.
Thanks, guys. This was awesome!
Amazing work guys!! Can't wait to try it myself👌🏼👌🏼.
Also waiting for uncle's shakey collection videoooo
Nice guys! Keep these videos coming!
Omg I love this so much!
Could use a different setting tho.
Thanks. Lovee BladeHQ so much
Amazing and so simple!
It's just a good habit with every battery hookup, no matter the size or voltage, to hook up the positive first, then the negative. At this level not a big deal, but at higher amps it can make a difference in generating shorts. Just a good habit to apply to all battery hookups. Positive is the first one on and the last one off. Cool video!
Love these how to videos, great job! Next you guys should do "how to make a custom leather sheath" I would really be interested in seeing that
the best video...no doubt...thanks!!!
This is an assume and useful video! Thanks
Awesome video, can't wait for more how to's
Dude this is one of the Best Videos you’ve done...Keep the how to videos coming! Aluminum next?
I second doing a video on anodizing aluminum!
would this same process work for aluminum?
@@colemansines9722 No. AL uses the same voltage for all colors. The color is determined by dye color, not oxide layer thickness.
powder coating is the way to go with aluminum... fairly easily achieved if you have a spare oven at home that you dont intend to ever cook food in again.
Great video, guys. Thank you!
Just tried, worked pretty well. Not quite the vibrant color I was expecting, but more than I thought a fist full of batteries and some baking soda would get me before this video. Thanks guys.
Awesome vid Zac, thanks alot!
This was a great idea and a great video. Would love to see more song these lines.
Amazing hope this is the first of many 👌
Love y'all's videos, maybe have aluminum next or how to stonewash just for more options to easily customize knives
Great how-to video, thanks!
What a great video. Full of info to get the ol' gears turning.
