    If I may offer... save your fingertips on the filter's luer lock tabs by screwing the filter into a syringe first, then use the syringe as a handle to drive the filter into the cap.

      Self-healing Injection Port - SHIP. The medical field calls them 'septums' if you are looking for them online.

    I like to fill the inside hole of the self healing injection port. Makes it last longer imo.

      I also do this, but after 10 or so uses. Not sure that it matters, but I feel like I get more life out of them this way

    if i may offer a better way? a hot solder iron or wood burner and the tips come in all sizes ? melts a perfect hole and a plastic welder works better then rtv to plastic . melt the old plastic with tip because rtv expands under presure

    Stick that RTV in a syringe ED.
    Makes application a lot easier.
    Stick a needle on for fine work 👍

      @@edwardgrand least I could do, found your channel this week and you have taught me so much already.
      Made some LC lids today whilst watching this video, it was sort of serendipity.
      You also stated you like it neat and the syringe helps get it OCD happy enough for me 😂
      I struggle to remember my name most days so no problems if you don't 😂
      Enjoy your day Ed

    When I make them out of the metal mason jar lids I just use a round file to clean up the bur around the hole. More than one way to skin a cat😂

    What brand lids do you buy

    • @edwardgrand
      @edwardgrand  Рік тому +1

      They are a local brand. No idea who makes them. As long as they match the jars, doesn't really matter.

      @Edward Grand sounds good I can get the plastic mason jar brand where I'm located, but it doesn't specify if they were safe for pressure cooking..... I assume they would be OK.... but some people say yes, some people say no.... I need to learn to stop listening to some people 😀

      @@trevorbraden5448 If they say 'PP5' somewhere on them, they should be ok. I've been through a few brands. You'll just have to give a couple a test. Make sure the PC has enough water. I melted a few when the PC ran dry...
