R.i.p. Chester. His voice legit one of the best ever. Saw him with Metalica in early 2000s. His voice was just as good.

The story behind this concert is pretty amazing. Linkin park polled a ton of their fans and picked people that also said they loved rap/jayz and invited them to the concert.
I believe it was actually inspired by Danger Mouse The Beatles/Jay Z album mashup so MTV wanted to make a series of artist mash ups so they asked Jay Z and he said Linkin Park.
@@niamhsmyth6239 absolutely correct and when shinoda got done mashing everything together and they presented it to MTV, they decided to not even attempt to make another collab as they new this couldn't be topped.

I think I heard that after this concert/collab that he’d never been apart of a concert were he felt this much energy from a crowd! That’s how much respect linkin park had in the music game! Other Linkin Park tracks you might dig if you're into hip hop include Wretches and Kings and Nobody's Listening. Chester was a beast of a singer but imo what made Linkin Park unique was the authenticity of the hip hop side of the band. They're fans of and have massive respect for hip hop and put genuine effort into that side of things.
