Such a comfy boot! As a wide footed guy this is easily my first choice 🔥. Hope they stiffen the sole plate on the GX3! Great video James appreciate the touch of pink lighting 🫡
@@BootWizard Hi! I love the width in the gx2, but the toebox is too narrow for me as well. Which boot would you recommend for me? Similar width in the midfoot, but more forgiving toebox?
I've gotten around the soft tooling with a carbon fiber insole, but there;s jsut something about the GX 2 that doesn't work for me vs GX 1. It might be the new shape on the midfoot area etc, but i do find the touch and instep abit off versus the GX 1 that gave me a more comfortable touch on the ball where the contact is more flush on my midfoot. lovely review though!
Thanks man, really appreciate you watching. I think I'd happily call them the best Nike boots on the market with some tiny tiny adjustments, it's an odd one, the more I use them, the more I like them, but also the more they soften up and I get more of that little medial midfoot bunch. Even with that they're a boot in the bag A LOT right now. Also glad you're enjoying the top down play shots ... Because I just filmed a load more for my next review 😂😂😂. Wasn't sure how they would go down. Thanks again. 🔥🔥
Thanks man, appreciate you watching. This one took a while, I may have tried to cover TOO much, but it should be pretty comprehensive as far as the GX / Luna 2 go.
My gf bought me a pair of these in the ag lows, gorgeous boot and very comfortable. That being said, in my usual size 9 I found that it was too voluminous in the midfoot. My other current boots in rotation are the ag vapor 15s and copa pure.1 ag which wrap my foot perfectly especially when touching and striking the ball. It’s a shame but I can’t see myself wearing them in a game over those other two but great video nonetheless mate!
Yeah definitely got that wide midfoot on these, absolutely going to be an issue for a good few people. At least you've got other options. Thanks for watching . 👍🏼
Controversially ... I actually prefer these as a tournament pack!!! Solid argument that the Adidas one is better as a pack, but I actually prefer the pink as a tournament look.
@@Riowilson i do have slightly wider feet. Its just I feel Nike cleats are narrow in the front. It takes me some time to brake in nike cleats. If that helps
These boots would be 10/10 if it wasn’t for the flexible soleplates! (I would go for ag plate version) hopefully future versions have a more solid soleplate
Great vid. as you said get true to size. I'm a 9. its to narrow, 9.5 still narrow. but 10 great width but its big. what do you think I should do? this is also my first pair of nike boots so idk what my size would be.
If your correct length is a 9 and you're finding it too narrow and the same with a 9.5 then I would say you need to try a different boot. Considering how wide these are I would suggest you probably need to try a wide fit boot. Maybe something in the New Balance wide fit lineup.
@@BootWizard thx for the advices. When I mean 9.5 it’s like snug fit. Plus this is also my first time getting boots. And when I did try the 10 it was like a good width but the width was abit to roomy. So I think I should get a 9.5
@@ryanlouie2053 always check length first, boots should be as snug as possible without them being uncomfortable. So you want your toes as close to the end as possible and the upper to mould around your foot as closely as possible, again, without being uncomfortable. If you're new to boots you might think the "correct" size for you feels too tight and restrictive, but you'll get used to it, you don't want boots that are too big. I'd say get a pair that fits you length wise in these as best as possible and wear them around the house to see if they are uncomfortable, at least then you can return them and swap size if they don't work out
It's impossible to just recommend one boot. It depends what type of boot you're looking for among with lots of variables. Other than that I just suggest watching a lot of reviews to see what works for you.
I have big and wide feet. But the new mercurial model is also for wide feet. ( that’s why a lot of players are complaining that the new model is wider than the typical Vapor shape) I wear mercs with absolute ease
Hey mate how do they compare to the Phantom GT II? I love the Phantom GT for the tapered feel, comfort from the knitted upper, and sharp feel while on the ball. Does the GX feel as tapered, sharp and comfortable like the GT? Thanks! Would appreciate your insight 🙏🏼
On the topic of wide fit boots, if anyone is looking at more retro boots, the original Magista Obra has a very lovely wide fit, though it may run a quarter of a size small for some people. I have an extremely wide foot, and will get hotspots when running in just about everything I wear. I've tried the traditionally "wide" boots like the predator accuracy, and the NB tekela, and nothing feels as immaculate as the Obra. No pressure, never gave me any underfoot pain, nothing. The original Opus as well, has a very wide and comfortable fit. I've yet to try a pair of GXs though
They have the same width if we are talking Luna 2 and GX 2, but the GX is easier to put on for wide feet because there is no collar. The Luna 1 and 2 are totally different and the Luna 2 is much wider
@@BootWizard okay but there are differences in the width of the Phantom luna 1 and 2? I always have pain in the joint of my little toe (outer instep) when I run. it feels a little like I'm walking on the outside of the sole Would you recommend a Puma King or the Nike Phantom Luna Elite?

What??? I don’t know brother, I bought a pair of gx 2s last month and I have very very flat and wide feet. I will say, they are honestly among the worst boots I’ve ever worn, this is just my opinion and it may be different. But the upper for me is so extremely stiff, the toe are is so narrow and squished my foot together. The inner side of the soleplate digs into the bottom of my foot and is very uncomfortable, I can’t wear these boots for more than 1 hour honestly. I’m a big fan of his channel and I’ve been subbed for almost 3 years now, he’s class👏🏻👌🏻
I'd say they're just not working for your specific foot, in terms of the amount of width available in the boot it's very rare to find a boot that is this wide. Obviously not disregarding your experience with them, I personally will stick with the info that they're generally great for a wide foot (although yes as I said in the video maybe too pinched in the toe for some) unfortunately doesn't seem to have worked for your wide foot which is a shame. Hopefully you found something else that works for you.
Hey bro, please answer i need suggestions. Bought these boots in my actual size but they feel way too tight, will they eventually stretch to my foot size or will I need to buy a size up?
If you're finding these too tight then I wouldn't suggest going up a size, I generally don't suggest that as a solution for any boot, you need something that fits well and if you're having issues with a particular boots fit then it probably means you need to try a different boot all together. If width is an issue for you and these aren't working then check out the New Balance wide fit options. While these will stretch somewhat they're not going to fill stretch to accommodate your foot, the material simply isn't designed that way
@@BootWizard thank you man I really appreciate it. I thought they were tight due to me not breaking them in but since I have wide feet I think it’s the boot in general 👊🏽💯
