As far as I'm concerned there won't be a WDC battle. I said before that it would depend on whether or not Red Bull could get the car to a place where Max could get on the podium and it looks like they've pulled through.
I wouldn't place a huge amount of value on this sprint qualifying after only 1 practice and the track not really being worn in since F2 and 3 didn't have races the track will grow faster as the cars wears into shape.

It seems there is a tendency with Max & Checo this season that their result is either they both are average, or Max is in the top, and Checo is down the bottom. It could be also that RB in mid-season understood that they need both cars to get Constructor's Cup, so they averaged car's setup so that both drivers can score, even if the car is not set up to be the fastest. That didn't work. Now that they lost CC, they could have switched back to "make the car as quick as possible, and whoever can handle it is on top".
Why can't the sprint weekend have 2 practice sessions on Friday, sprint quali and sprint on Saturday and quali and race on Sunday? In the past, Saturdays have been lost due to weather and they move quali to Sunday morning. It seems to work just fine. Good idea? Use it and claim it as your own.

George clearly had some pace today when his tyres were new, and when they went off it spoiled what could've been. In certain times in F1, all this tyre saving stuff wasn't a thing. They drove flat out like every lap was a qualifying lap. The sprint would be better if it were more like that. Take tyre wear out of the sprints. Make it a genuine sprint.

This championship is finished imo. The Lando dream only lives on in fairy tale land. Max only has to fight with Lando, but Lando has to fight with Red Bull, Mercedes, Ferrari and maybe even RB if they keep sniping fastest lap away. For Lando to win this championship, he'll need to win pretty much every race there's left. A second place allready means 7 points less gained. The Mclaren needs to be dominant which it hasn't consistently been. I don't see Lando winning all remaining races. It doesn't even have to be Max to beat him, If a Mercedes or Ferrari wins a race then instead of Max having to finish 2nd every race to guarantee the championship, Max can get by with a 5th place that race and come up on top in Abu Dhabi. This sprint result allready forces Lando to take more risks when he can't afford taking them as the big points are given out on sunday. Every tiny error Lando makes favores Max, which then puts more pressure on Lando making him prone to make even more errors. It's gonna take multiple miracles and i don't think Lando will get that lucky. The dreamer in me says GO LANDO GO, but the realist in me can't see it.
I’m the biggest lando wdc truther but the fact that all max needs is a decent car and he can win every remaining race while the rest of the field is right on landos tail added on to inconsistent McLaren car performance and strategy… it would take a max dnf + lando win this week to make it even slightly realistic unfortunately
since the end of the summer break Lando has taken about 2/3 of points available. That translates to 120 points for the remaining races. That means Max needs 70 points in 6 races + 3 sprints. Assume he takes 4 per sprint, that's P5 on average in the races. If he wins one he just needs p6-7 in the others.

Best answer Red Bull could give to the rumors they have adjusted the car seat height illegaly during parc ferme.. If you noticed Max was quite surprised it was about Red Bull. @@GhostySpadeno, they released the data, he lifted during the straight and brakes 75m earlier, most likely hoping for the yellow flag to turn green so he could floor it, but it kept flashing yellow. He was literally up 3 tenths in the first sector on George.

The fact that people aren’t bashing Piastri (for a Q1 exit due to his own mistake) the same way as they did Norris in Baku (for a Q1 exit due to unfortunately timed yellow flags) is insane. I love both of our drivers but the agenda the F1 community has is horrible.
Yep, now that it’s Piastri it’s “move along nothing happened here” from the F1 community. I’m not even a Lando fan, I cheer for Max, but Lando has received a lot of unfair criticism this year.

And like you say it is pretty insane, Piastri made that mistake on his own whereas yellow flags played a part in Norris Q1 exit. Imagine if Norris had a similar spin, F1 fans would go mad 😂
@@samuelsiltala119 Look at how Norris snatched pole (given Russel’s shirt may have helped a bit). He wasn’t ever in contention the whole session, went out early for his first fresh soft tyre run and made it count. Verstappen and Red bull were mighty in the first sector but fell off more towards the end so we’ll never know how close Max was to taking it back but that’s a whole different story (or as a toxic fan would say Max VerstappIF). I think what I said is a fair analysis too, but you know the at the toxic littlw shits online will still cry even tho I give credit to my team’s (McLaren) rivals.

This championship is finished imo. The Lando dream only lives on in fairy tale land.
Max only has to fight with Lando, but Lando has to fight with Red Bull, Mercedes, Ferrari and maybe even RB if they keep sniping fastest lap away.
For Lando to win this championship, he'll need to win pretty much every race there's left. A second place allready means 7 points less gained.
The Mclaren needs to be dominant which it hasn't consistently been. I don't see Lando winning all remaining races. It doesn't even have to be Max to beat him, If a Mercedes or Ferrari wins a race then instead of Max having to finish 2nd every race to guarantee the championship, Max can get by with a 5th place that race and come up on top in Abu Dhabi.
This sprint result allready forces Lando to take more risks when he can't afford taking them as the big points are given out on sunday.
Every tiny error Lando makes favores Max, which then puts more pressure on Lando making him prone to make even more errors.
It's gonna take multiple miracles and i don't think Lando will get that lucky.

I agree. Ferrari is extremely competitive, Verstappen is driving well and McLaren's strategies aren't consistent.
I’m the biggest lando wdc truther but the fact that all max needs is a decent car and he can win every remaining race while the rest of the field is right on landos tail added on to inconsistent McLaren car performance and strategy… it would take a max dnf + lando win this week to make it even slightly realistic unfortunately
since the end of the summer break Lando has taken about 2/3 of points available. That translates to 120 points for the remaining races.
That means Max needs 70 points in 6 races + 3 sprints. Assume he takes 4 per sprint, that's P5 on average in the races. If he wins one he just needs p6-7 in the others.
@@camra554 As Dutch person and rooting for Max i already said Max has proven himself already with 3 wdc's if Lando would beat him kudo's to him then he deserves the title too. Afterall Max and Lando are friends and there is no bad blood between them just healthy rivalary. I really would be happy for Lando if he pulls it off.. Good luck to both of them.

Best answer Red Bull could give to the rumors they have adjusted the car seat height illegaly during parc ferme.. If you noticed Max was quite surprised it was about Red Bull. Now you can say anything you want about Max but he is usually quite honest when it comes about the performance of the car and having his height adjusted in parc ferme is something Max definite would notice. Now everyone knows Red Bull was sealed and couldn't adjust under heavy scrutiny. But i do wonder about the perfomance of the McLaren why wasn't it dominant all over sudden? What happened there? We will see this weekend if it was just bad luck and a fluke or more is going on this weekend i bet.
