"you're the smartest and dumbest fucking person I've ever known"....best line ever.
I've been called that myself a few times
"Maybe I want other things."
"Like a terrorist in your bed."
Oh my God, that's brilliant.
In the end, she got what she wants. A Russian spy, the enemy in her bed. Lol
@@joykristi28 Then begins a romance as colossal as it is true, which would mark the life of Carrie and Brody forever, and which would end up being, at the same time, the salvation of Brody and loss of the only love in Carrie's life. in fact, its conclusion is like a punch in the stomach. A punch that you could see coming a long time ago, and even had time to prepare for the impact, but the effort was in vain. The weight was felt. And even with all the mistakes and morally dubious actions, that star drawn by Carrie still hurts.
The ending of Carrie Mathison's story was not actually a closing. It was just the last chapter that we had a chance to see. His journey will continue, as long as there is an enemy (at the moment it is with the GRU spy, Yevgeny Gromov, to spy on Putin's Russia as Saul's new resource).
@@joykristi28 4 years late to the party but remember ol Saul also had a Russian spy in his bed too, and before Carrie. LMAO
@@edmundnlemadim8480 yes 👍🏻
She was right. Saul devoted his ENTIRE EXISTENCE to his job at the CIA. And he ended up a lonely old man because of it. His wife left him, he has no kids, no other close family, and practically zero friends. Pretty sad. He will pass away in an elderly care facility with some coworkers by his side.
Every person needs a Saul in their life.
Mandy Patinkin dropping the mic at the end!🎤
It's sick how obsessed with this show I am.
Such a simple yet perfect line to sum up Carrie. god i fucking love this show!
Forgive me for saying this but... i think Mandy Patinkin (Saul) would have made a great Walter White.
I love Claire Danes.
I just started watching this show and I love this scene! Saul is so right about her. She's so smart yet dumb. "You don't know a god damn thing" *mic drop*
She is A very good actress!!!
Doesn't look like it
1:36 One of the best lines in the show. Perfect description of Carrie.
That's seriously one of the best, most apt lines I've ever heard.
Whoever is saying Claire Danes's acting is terrible know nothing about acting, writing and television... No one would play Carrie as good as she does. So don't watch the show or fucking enjoy it and don't piss people off. Thank you !
Great show - great actors, great storyline, great writers, great EVERYTHING - can't wait for the next season.
One of the greatest series.
Love Carrie & Saul.
Homeland. 💕💕💕
Anna Hathaway's impression was spot on
All I can think of when I see this is...
So this is where Jason Giddeon went
me too! hahaha
Award for "Homeland" (Showtime, 2012)... Who deserved to be the winner as a supporting actor
Homeland sent all of his supporting actors for Emmy consideration (yes, even Chris Brody), now the only one with a chance - and a good chance - to a nomination is our own teddy bear, Mandy Patinkin.
After being despised by a nomination last year, which surprised almost everyone, he is in a good position to enter the roster this year. On the positive side, Patinkin is loved on this show, playing probably the nicest character (he's not the mole, guys). Saul's role has become more prominent this season and with that came more critical acclaim. The second season may have been a shit storm of action and scary watched sex and punches and runs, but the Bear was at the center of it all, calm and quiet and a force to be reckoned with.
He still has two featured shipping tapes in "The Clearing" and "The Choice" (I would choose "The Choice", which I consider a more powerful performance, but it's just me).
And because Supporting Actor is a weaker overall category this year than last year (when two strong performances, Jared Harris in Mad Men and Giancarlo Esposito in Breaking Bad, both ineligible this year, received nominations), he is likely to succeed, probably comfortably.
Still, you may wonder why Patinkin, who has won an Emmy and participated in several TV shows in the past twenty years, has not gotten a nomination. I think he was probably the seventh or eighth in last year's vote, so he narrowly missed. It was a stronger category last year and Homeland was nowhere near as popular as it is today. It was generally agreed that the show underperformed in the nominations. Sure, he made up for his surprising wins, but that his wins were surprising (he benefited a lot from the tape system, like a more recent program) says he still didn't have the influence or prominence of a Mad Men or even a Breaking Bad .
Mandy Patinkin looks set to receive a nomination for this role for the first time. His Golden Globe nomination earlier this year will certainly help him, as will his character's increased presence this season and the program's growing overall profile.
“Carrie Mathison was a person who thought life was a bicycle, that if you stopped moving you’d fall right off. For our first year with her, she leaned a little too far left and fell over. This year, she’s leaned a little right. But her forward vector never stopped. Sometimes this desire to put the world between us and ourselves, the inability to be alone with silence, takes the form of heroism.” - Jacob Clifton on “The Choice”
How could you call this terrible acting? They have always written Carrie very well. Claire Danes is trying to keep her character consistent and I've never seen her turn in a bad performance during this series. Seriously masterclass. The "bipolar" Carrie is on display here and she does a fantastic job, hence the "babble". She's denied who Brody is, and she's obviously conflicted here between the reality and fantasy of the situation.
Who the hell called it terrible acting?
What an epic scene.
LOL, this is hilarious! Love Carrie and Saul :D
THAT'S SAUL FOLKS! :)
Great, great scene.
saul is keeping a pretty straight face in that situation, very calm. reminds me of me :)
Saul=awesome sauce. Best character on the show, especially since how Carrie and Brody have faded so much this season in terms of our (or at least my) resonance with them.
Saul is the warmest most likeable person on television.
Can. Not. Wait.
Qué monstruos los 2!
Why is Carrie's bipolar disorder one of her strengths?
Bipolar has what appears to be an enhanced ability to organize data and make connections between bits of information in different categories. In fact, he is a professional methodologist. The job is to teach people to be data analysts. It is not by chance that he gets sick after doing this job for three or four years. Anyway, he is very good at this job - so much so that he can almost sleep.
When people present a problem to the bipolar person, he understands it very quickly. I believe it is because it has an internal model of how the world works that it is effective for organizing new data quickly. There's even an analysis of your model's path posted on the bulletin board, just a reminder of how everything relates to everything else.
People like Carrie (or whoever writes her character) and other bipolar are trained in many different analytical techniques. When you combine this with a strong sense of empathy and an artistic inclination (eg a musician), I think it makes it easier for them to separate and reconstruct pieces of information that are apparently unrelated in a coherent story, it happens that it hides more quickly than most others.
I'm not sure if the intensity has a lot to do with it, because the intensity has a more different focus. For most bipolar people, love is a major concern. In fact, it is the reason for existence. You see this on the show with Carrie's obsession with Brody. She needs intensity and, most of all, she needs love. She will die without him. Well, if the character is like a bipolar, she will die without him. In fact, wasn't it when she took all those pills? When did she not return to Cia after the mission in Lebanon?
Anyway, it is this type of thinking that seduces and addicts. Bipolar enter these mental frames and do not want to leave. When they make connections, it's like fireworks exploding from the inside. Interestingly, this has always happened to Carrie, I believe.
I still remember a period when the character's thoughts seemed to be going so fast that they really upset him. I thought her brain was thinking too fast because it knew it was going to die and was trying to think as much as possible before it happened.
Why would Carrie die? Brain cancer, we would think. I'm glad it was bipolar instead.
And I had read once about a species of tree or something that, when threatened by drought, would flourish and generate much more bulky seeds. He knew he was going to die, so he put all his energy into creating seeds. I thought something analogous might be going on in a bipolar person's brain. I don't know how many people can make a connection like that, now it's the kind of thing that I think happens to bipolar people more often.
The manic phase of bipolar disorder may have some effects that would certainly affect your strengths as a researcher. My emphasis is added to these aspects:
Very elevated mood;
Excess activity (hyperactivity);
Increased energy;
Racing thoughts;
Talking a lot;
Very high self-esteem (false beliefs about self or abilities);
Very involved in activities;
Very upset (agitated or irritated).
Of course the flip side is that she'll have a major crash once in a while if not treated consistently.
I love Saul
The audio is all over the place in this scene... this can't be the final mix.
awesome
Saul says: "With us....." Guess that means Estes didnt get rid of Saul after all.
when his beard is wild he looks like charles manson
Same to you. Happy holidays and good luck with that lobotomy.
Wow, "Stardust" and "The Princess Bride" in the same scene 0_0
(if you don't understand my comment, just check who those actors are... :D).
when it comes to love we all are the dumbest but we still do it
Mandy drops the mic
I wouldn't call it babble. It's called great writing, subtext.
saul is the best thing about this show.
The 95 seconds of suffering through more Carriebabble is totally redeemed by the last 5 seconds when Saul puts it so bluntly and honestly.
Haha, it's true :)
Something is not right about Saul......that creepy smile he had at the end of the finale suspicious
Epic beard
WOW
One more season left 2013
Saul Berensen for the win.
Just found out this is inigo montoya and after watching this whole show I regret not noticing.
yea, it is two different things. I meant mocking her.
i want his beard
Will Saul be in the show in the third season? Does anyone know?
No he won't
"My eyes ARE open."
Yes, yes. We've noticed.
AUGH!! It's great scenes like this that put the 'love' in the love/hate relationship I have with Homeland. ...smart move by the producers to release this clip though...with all the flack the series is getting...what a great scene to suck me back in!!
Crazy deserves crazy.
So Estes is dead( killed by Quinn in his office ) and Saul is now the man?
lolzzzzz...EXACTLY....why???????????
Don't bleep the f***ing lines out, guys.
that inst the guy from if google was a guy video?
Why bleep out the f word!!?? Why!!!?!?!?
Do you think it will be 3 ° temporarily? ... If Brody die
It's really bad for a slam dunk star to be dragged down by an amateur. Mandy is really a good actor, i really never forget his brilliance in criminal minds. but man.. he really was dragged down here.
saul was a bit close minded in this scene
um LOL.
😑
anne hathway does a good job of her
No one in any secret service would ever put carrie in a position of management(see drone queen)..sure it's fine in a tv series but in reality...no fucking way..
Whenever the going gets tough, she gets the crazed bug eyed look. It has become an internet laughing stock for a reason because she's been doing it her whole career. Her acting in these situations is terrible and the writers don't do her any favors with the situations they put her in. BTW, they can't rely on the bipolar argument anymore...that was arguably taken care of. Anyway, enjoy The Claire Danes cry face. It is easily found
Bipolar is never “taken care of” it is incurable life long illness. Even on medication the meds can easily go off balance especially with a job as stressful as carries
some of the writing on Homeland is great. Agreed. But a lot of the scenes are unbelievable and implausible and her acting is really terrible at times.
that inst the guy from if google was a guy video?
