    Love your reviews! What is the number one feature in a router I should be looking for when my 3000sqf home has over 50 devices?

    • @landpet
      @landpet  2 роки тому

      Thanks! At 3000sqf, a mesh wifi will suit your needs better unless you plan on getting two of these. If you don't have ethernet cables throughout your home, meaning no way of connecting one router to another router (acting as an extender) then I suggest you look for a tri band mesh wifi or quad band mesh wifi (this is currently very expensive). A good tri band system for a good price is the TP Link Deco X68. It all depends on what you're trying to achieve and how fast your internet is.
      Tri Band Mesh Wifi would be a good start

    Hi, thank you very much for the review! I have a question you may answer: Being this router (wifi6) backwards compatible, would it be possible to set a ONE MESH configuration, combining wifi6 and wifi5 tp-link devices? Something like this router (AX55 AX3000) with a TP-Link EAP245? Thank very much in advance!

    This is for the budget an excellent WIFI-6 router. One this about TP-LINK's 'OneMesh System' I'm curious do you have to have 2 routers supporting OneMesh? I asked my country's Tp-link spokesperson and they said you need 1 OneMesh supported router and others have to be OneMesh supported Range Extender. Can you confirm that 2 routers (not range extender) that support OneMesh can be used together as mesh system?

    • @antonioterrell354
      @antonioterrell354 2 роки тому

      Yes correct ....
      From TP-Link's website regarding "OneMesh" ....
      "OneMesh only works between a OneMesh router and OneMesh Wi-Fi Extenders/Powerlines.
      The following models including their subsequent versions are compatible with OneMesh."
      www.tp-link.com/us/onemesh/product-list/
      Therefore think the video's author made a mistake here ....

    • @landpet
      @landpet  2 роки тому +2

      It does appear I have made a mistake based on this link. I’m curious to test it out though, not sure why this would be the case when Asus makes the AiMesh and you can connect router to router which was my assumption here for OneMesh.

    I JUST purchased an AX55 tp link router and it refuses to connect to the internet. The internet light is always orange. It is not my isp - i have an old router (which i wanted to replace) that easily works when plugged in. So it's not any of the cables either. The modem is brand new, it is a satellite internet modem. I have tried almost all of the troubleshooting problems (all the ways to restart/reset). I managed to use the tether app to find the router - so i can connect to it wirelessly, but still cannot manage to get it to connect to the internet.
    There are some other ways that talk about physically connecting the router to the computer - but that is difficult for me (hence having a good wireless router - computer room is opposite in the house). Any tips to try before i sent this piece of junk back to tp link?

    OK. So biggist question I've had, once you buy it, do you have to pay for it monthly? If so how much? Oooor is this a wifi booster that connects to your network? I'm honestly new to this so bear with me

    • @landpet
      @landpet  День тому

      There are no fees once you buy it. But remember a router needs a modem with Internet to provide internet access. Routers job is really to take the internet signal coming from the modem and pass it on to your home devices either through ethernet or over wifi. That's a simplified explanation, there's a much more technical one since the router creates a NAT (Network Address Translation) which takes your WAN IP and creates a bunch of local IP Addresses and manages all the traffic in your home and provides internet access through the modem which typically does require a monthly subscription.

    Tplink Ax20 or ax55. I see ax20 has quadcore while ax55 has dual core. Does more cores matters with these two device?

    • @landpet
      @landpet  2 роки тому

      I look at them in terms of performance rather than their chips. There is probably a good reason they switched but I'm not sure as long as it gets good performance, that's all I care about. Now with my desktop, I would almost always opt for more cores since I do lots of editing, that really pushes the CPU, so more cores is better.

      I don't know
      It's less than or equal to 253 in theory. I would think the limit applies as a general rule of thumb between the main and the guest network cause that's a limitation of what the router can do. I have around 60 devices between main and guest network and it handles that just fine.

    Helloo 👋
    Thanks a lot.
    Does this router AX 21. Support bandwidth control for each device alone by entering the IP and speeds for each device separately.?????
    Thanks very much

      I haven't used this in some time but it has QoS so it should be able to do that to a certain degree. www.tp-link.com/us/home-networking/wifi-router/archer-ax21/v3/#specifications AX55 has it as well

    its a shame you didnt show how to pair them, connect them with cable and create one network with one name and password- the video didnt show what its promised.

      OneMesh is referring to pairing an extender, I was mistaken initially in this video.

      I think all modern routers/mesh wifi's support at least 2x2MIMO

    Tip for my German Fellows: Unfortunately you're probably not gonna be able to use TP-Link products with any provider 'cause German Providers suck like that apparantly :/
    So Double Check with your Provider if you're gonna be able to use this router, 'cause I sadly couldn't...

      @@Mujahed. German Companies like Telekom or Vodafone won't let you use any other Router other than their own or the Fritz Box because of some Software apparantly. I don't know why they do that but I hate it

      @@infentex3801 Have you tried connecting a cable from your ISP provided modem to any 3rd party router, and putting your ISP modem on Bridge Mode? Theoretically that should work since it's your right to use any router you want, you just have to use their modem as the source. Our telecom companies here (Saudi Arabia) impose many limitations on users, but they let us put their modems on bridge mode.

    I cannot believe the speeds you guys are able to get in the U.S.
    Up to a Gig is crazy.
    Here in Australia, the most we can get is a paltry 100Mb/sec and I'm not kidding. That's it !
    Our stupid Govt spent hundreds of billions of dollars rolling out a fiber network and this is the best we can do.
    I am ashamed !

      I have since upgraded to 5Gbps upload and download but I do get the occasional comment asking about which routers to choose for a 10Gbps connection. I had to upgrade cause of these new wifi 7 routers, they are beyond fast even over wireless backhaul. I did a video demoing the speeds here: ua-cam.com/video/-j2GJRdc2zI/v-deo.html
