- Rosas Pandan, tells the story of a pretty lass from the mountains who charms everyone when she sings and dances during a town festival. Composed by Minggoy Lopez, this Visayan folk song has been performed by numerous choirs all over the world including choirs from China, Korea, Indonesia, Russia, Singapore, USA, and now New Zealand and Romania.

Amazing choirs. Powerful voices. Most amazing of all is the fact that the audience themselves appreciate their MUSICALITY--even if some of them might have no idea as to what was being sung.
Kudos to the musical arrangers and conductors.
I feel so proud and thankful at the same time that these foreign countries are singing our folk songs with their hearts as if it is their own our composers did a great job in composing these pieces during their time which is greatly appreciated in our time. Hopefully our schools focuses in teaching them in class rooms and in creating choirs as early as elementary ages.
My father was from Baybay Leyte, I play ROSA PANDAY over and over again and cry like a river. I missed Dad so much.
