The old cab really sounds good, lots of clarity to my ear, less thump. It would sound best in a band. Goes to show you don’t have to spend a ton to have great tone. All great of course. I really like evh cabs.
Dude this comparison was awesome. I’m picking up an EVH 212 myself for my Peavey 5150. No issues running your 60w cab with the 120w head? Im not gonna be diming the thing, so I guess it shouldnt be a problem?
Just dont dime it, which is never really needed, everything runs fine. You could pull two of the power tubes on the 5150 to get that head down to 50 watt (do look up specifically which ones to pull, dont just pull them out at random)
Awesome video and sick ass riffage. Loved that mix, still trying to convince myself the 2x12 sounds best!🤘😅 been thinking of picking one up & ditching the hog of a 4x12, at least live applications.🤔
Friend of mine has the v30s from the 1980s wow what a big difference from the new ones the speaker cones on the new v30s don’t move love my evh 4 12 I have the 50 watt 6l6 head . I use this rig with my Marshall vintage modern half stack with the c12 green backs
Thanks for clarifying. Honestly Celestions naming is not the easiest one to figure out. And yes the cabinet is stock for now, though I am thinking about changing that.
The old school.cab cut through the mix with more clarity... You can hear everything with them the other cabs are just fizzy...are they the g12k-85s...those are killer speakers...they are now the g12k-100 ..all the best high end cabs use them like diesel
Sounds most excellent! Great playing! I really liked the composition more than anything.

I thought the anniversary cab has 30watt celestions not vintage 30s?
Nice riffs and song!

The EVH sounds so much better than the Peaveys to me! Thanks for this comparison, it's given me a lot to consider about what cab/speakers to go with.

2x12 supremacy
the 2x12 EVH speakers i think sound the best imo. EVH cabs are underrated
Yeah I think they really work well, especially in my situation in an apartment. The 2x12 is a great compromise of size vs sound.
@@rasmuslaurberghansen8484 mine is same left g12h30 right v3o classic.

Peavey Sheffields from that 5150 original cab all the way, what a vast spectrum of tones, so much more bass and high gains all at once
If the EVH 2x12 is stock, the G12H speakers are 30 watts, not vintage 30’s as you state in the description. FYI
