Probably the most entertaining roll to watch. Can tell they were having fun without trying to kill each other. I’d do 30 days of sweeps since it’s a weak point.
Two year BJJ student here who has one, just one, stripe on her white belt. Our coach did not dole out participation prizes, lol. Finally met a fellow ninja, who is mostly trained in Soo Baku Do, and in sword arts, but wants to learn more about grappling. I think this is a FANTASTIC video to demonstrate flow rolling ( for people in their 40’s, especially, lol), and also what a good stretching session you can do at home with a willing partner! Planning to review this weekend and show my Samurai the ropes of Jitz! Great video, I can’t wait to see more! Thank you!!
I like too watch the rolling with narration. I video tape my sons and then we talk about it. This is really great. Thank you. I’m 47, I really do appreciate watching the older guys roll.
I don't do any sort of 30 day challenge stuff but i do ALOT of focused training. I pick a series of technique and go for that series in every roll. Currently, get into lasso, sweep from lasso (not sure the name of the sweep but you essenitally turn toward their side control, grab their outside leg and roll them over.) Transition to side control and get a bravo choke. The series I did before that was Knee cut pass, to side control, knee ride to mount, cross collar choke. I'll continue doing this focused training until I exetremely comfortable and able to hit it the sequence without too much thought. Sometimes a week, sometime 6.
I'm in my mid-sixties and started JJ in late Oct'23. The "warm-up', consisting of running and calisthenics, totally wiped me out. I was too exhausted to exert any muscle while learning and practicing moves with my partner. Through December, I attended classes 2-3x per week, intending to stick with the core basics (no rolling) until I was proficient in the first 45 techniques I was learning. I was tired of being wiped out every class, so I decided that for January, I would go to class 30 days in a row to get my stamina to a point where I could handle rolling. Every day the aching and soreness of everything have challenged me for the past two weeks, and I continue to go to class every day. Last week, I attended core training sessions and a Blue Belt class where they rolled, and I realized my initial thought of getting in shape first was paramount to my ability just to survive rolling. Having goals and ensuring consistent training is key for me. These videos are definitely helpful, as Iwhen I did roll, I found myself overexerting despite my understanding that doing so is counter-intuitive- THANK YOU!
I did 30 days of 300 body weight squats as I was trying to hit 500 consecutive as a goal. In the end I did 9900 in 30 days. The last ten days I had to do 3 sets of 100. I was just to sore and stuff to do 300 straight.
Yes it is true that I gassed and gassed hard at the 1:19 mark but it’s only because I was up late the night before watching reruns. Welcome Back, Kotter The Rockford File, Simon and Simon and Colombo. If you know these shows then we should roll together!
When returning to the mats after a 12+ year hiatus, I forced myself into a couple months of drilling to get out of side-control because I knew everyone would be passing my guard for a while.
Ive been focusing on defence for a good bit. Getting put in bad positions and then figuring out how to get out of that position and either sweep the opponent or get back to a guard.
My 30 day challenge would simply be training every day. A combination of 1.5yo son, work being far from home and gym, and my gym's schedule all makes that impossible. If it wasnt, at 32 and still working on getting back into good shape, 30 days would be a really tough but awesome challenge by itself. 1yr white belt here.
My 30 day challenge is rolling with one arm while my other arm is tied to my belt. Am basically just trying to work around an elbow injury. Which is part of the reason why I'm watching flow rolling videos
I love it. I’m 42 getting back into it. I roll slow really working on my position before submission. More fun this way for me and my body🤣definitely gotta work on my cardio.👊🏽 more please 💯🔥🔥🥋
Really good cheers fornthe vid, love watching any type of rolling, I like that you explain what people are doing I feel it helps learning as you watch, my jj game has improved so much through watching videos like these then trying it out in the gym.
My 30 day BJJ challenge was to attend every class my school offered (x11 classes a week) that challenge went for 2 months straight until I finally missed a class I completed over 50 classes my first month (I had gone to other classes at other gyms as well)
I haven’t heard of these thirty day challenges specifically but I’ve got 4 weeks to a meet so I’ll be focused on plan A over and over until it’s boring. So guess I’m about to do 30 days of that.
I'm 49 year old a shitty purple belt ..but I am s strong like monster compared to a lot people (220 lbs)but I have to transition to an old man game ..I am constantly getting hurt , especially wrestling. ..it sucks
Is this flow rolling or just rolling a bit less intensely? Which isn't the same thing. They are both resisting too much for what I know flow to be. But this is still good
I clearly don't know what flow rolling is then. To me a good flow roll will have no tapping because there is no pins or subs so strongly applied that your partner can't escape. Thus continuing the flow of the roll...
we love the algorithm
Me and my homies all love the algorithm

They did well! Easy roll but also improving at the sport
I think for most people, not all, the best 30 day challenge you can do for your BJJ game is to up that cardio outside of class.
Good idea indeed!
I've seen flow rolling, this looks more intense.

My 30 day challenge would be to start my first 30 days of bjj. Love how much fun those two guys have while rolling. That's the right spirit.
Get in there dude...ya missing out man☺
@@matsuwd-emethdaath4002 thanks. :) I will once I have fully recovered. Already found a place to train within reasonable distance.

I’ve heard a lot of good things about your channel. This is my first watch. Strong work, dude!!
Great to have you here mate!
your VO is terrific. Love the explanation of general principles . My first vid of yours but looking forward to more

I'm watching Cannon right now.😉
I love this type of breakdown so smooth easy to follow and learn thank you so much brother OSS.

Pretty much same here ...12 year layoff and even after 6 weeks I see its all coming back... Mostly I work defense from weak positions.
30 day challenge: no injuries. Repeat ad nauseum.
gas tank- E - warning light is on. That was still 2x faster than I roll.
Ive been focusing on defence for a good bit. Getting put in bad positions and then figuring out how to get out of that position and either sweep the opponent or get back to a guard.
Started to do submission grappling in 2005 and coming back from 5 years off and realize my cardio is garbage, so that is what I'm working on

1yr white belt here.
My 30 day challenge would be to work on the guillotine/d’arce/anaconda/arm triangle/von flue chains.
An excellent chain. This would be a good challenge to do!
My 30 day challenge is rolling with one arm while my other arm is tied to my belt. Am basically just trying to work around an elbow injury. Which is part of the reason why I'm watching flow rolling videos

Really enjoyed this video good to see the guy's moving through the positions without trying to kill each other. What age are you Tyler
25 😀
@@TylerSpangler black belt at 25 👏👏👏
Same guard pass every day and capitalize it during rolls
Heck yea

Animal
Nice roll. That was high intensity the whole way through
I agree. No Flowroll here They were basically intense within the physical limitations
Just two Asphyxiation enthusiast living in the moment
"Choked in a bathrobes" LOL
Im a mid age (37) with torn meniscus. Painful when rolling so i feel like 50 years old man when rolling. So i enjoy watching olderman rolling 😂
I am imagining that travis is laughing the whole time!
Hahaha awesome! This motivated the shit outta me thanks boys
Boom! Olds!

Damn,... I felt insulted thru the intro of this video. I'm in my prime son!! 😆
Mt 30 day challenge would be to get a black belt
Cool content as usual. 30 days would be Lifting
This is almost flow rolling
I enjoyed this
I'd just do 30 days of juijitsu but maybe focus on leg locks.
30 days of Omoplatas FTW
BOOM!
BOOM
As a 35 year old seeing that one of the older guys is 39 was a hit my ego wasn't ready for
Felt the same being in my 40s but I am sure these guy's are a bit older than 39
43. Offically old
Quack quack
Probably testing for blue belt in next 30 days, although I am a Pankrationist. Im also 40 and would "smesh" these purple belts.....or maybe not haha
Bruv can you tutorial that omaplata sweep vs. Standing grd pass? You teach him that? Set up was slick. Pls break it down for us.
I think older guys can be as jumpy as younger guys but they're there for skill and don't care as much about getting tapped.
59 female purple belt- roll 99% with younger men. I do care about being tapped! (admittedly not a good quality).
@@cynthiageskes1457 win some lose some
....its all good...just strive to be better than the previous matchup😉

Gotta be methodical and strategic in your game n slow it down

Travis looks like Dana white
yo 39 is old man now? wtf
Two older men…bruh. *crying silently*
30 days of absolutely no bjj would be the hardest.
30 days of buzzsaw passing 🤙🏼
To be more flexible and technical for 30 day challenge
You stated thats not alot of subs from N/S. I train subs from N/S all the time
🤞
Guard passing
I wanna be the most dangerous white-belt
You will be for a little bit then you'll be the fresh blue belt
Dana White rolls well!
😂😂😂
2 old guys that refused to grow up ever! 😂😂 its all good
30 days? 30 heel hooked white belts
My 30 day challenge is to only tap out with my foot.
I clearly don't know what flow rolling is then. To me a good flow roll will have no tapping because there is no pins or subs so strongly applied that your partner can't escape. Thus continuing the flow of the roll...
Never pull guard for 30 days

You my fav
not really flow rolling though, way too much resistance at times
Doesn’t seem like a flow roll. It’s give and take
SECOND
Still fast enough to BOOM people
Nice roll. But that’s not flow rolling
Does the govt know youre hosting nursing home fight clubs?
Probably 30 days of guard passing, that seems to be my weakest aspect against higher belts.
