I’m thinking of using this on an outdoor fountain that is connected to an auto refill system. The auto refills have been known to fail, so I’m wondering if this would be a good option to mount somewhere near the fountain in case of a failure.

this exists. it's an auto shut off valve system that shuts down house main in event of leak. $400.
