Cassette Beasts puts a unique retro-inspired spin on monster-collecting open-world RPG adventures - on the remote island of New Wirral, people can use cassette tapes to transform into strange creatures and battle! You see, you can tell this is an innovative take on the Pokémon formula because 1) It actually leans into the 90s when Pokémania was a thing, and 2) It doesn't have "mon" as the suffix for its title.
and it adds mechanics people wanted in Pokemon games like fusion

For those who played the DEMO, what is impressive about this game is how beautiful and impactful the combats are. When the "fusions" happen and the voice in the music comes in it's WONDERFUL! 😲

If this game looks like some generic Pokemon clone to you, do yourself a favor and play it. I promise you that it's its own unique, charming, and super fun experience. Take it from me. I wasn't sure if I'd like the game myself, but I'm obsessed now.
If this game hadn't come out so close to the new Zelda game, it would be my most played game this year. It was honestly fantastic, and once I've gotten my fill of totk I'm gonna go back and finish it lol

This feels like one of those bizarre games where I'm legitimately more psyched to jam on the soundtrack than I am to actually play it. This looks insanely cool
the music gets better when you fuse monsters too. when you fuse that's when the music goes from an instrumental into vocals combined and it makes it feel very anime.
Man the amount of times I fuse my pals and then just rock out for the next like half hour, my playtime is gonna be nuts

80 hours in and it's one of the best games I've played of it's kind in a while, highly recommend it if you're thinking of getting it.
This game looks fantastic, the music, the monster designs. I'm so happy that it is finaly on the switch 😊
I'm not so impressed by the general design style of these beasts overall ... but that fox knight sure looks neat.

Been playing this game for awhile now and i freaking love it and also i love how there is 14440 fusions in the game thafs literally insane even if some fusion just look a little different than others its still impressive !!
Played this game with Gamepass and is hands down one of my favorites games this year. Will definitely will buy again and highly recommended

This is the coolest Pokémon and Digimon Mashup inspired indie game I’ve ever seen🤩, and I love it😎.
I recommend this game 100% it’s so addictive once you start leveling up your monsters past their 2nd evolution and seeing the fusions that are possible I can’t get enough Im so glad I found this game 10/10 from me

yeah part of the story is you and other people from different dimensions/time periods end up on this island, so the cassette tape/player is foreign to some of them.

Pokemon NEEDS to go back to looking like this. It looks like a more advanced DS game like Black and White and Black2, White2. This was made in the Godot game engine thats cool.

Wow this looks like pokemon black and white, my favorite pokemon game, which you could port to the switch full price without changing anything and I would still buy it. HEY NINTENDO ARE YOU TAKING NOTES!?
On my to buy list once the game receives an update that fixes the fluctuating framerate and stuttering fully that reviews are mentioning.
Yeah that but is annoying but not super in the way.
I feel like it levels out more a bit into the session, although the other end of it is in my longer sessions sometimes the graphics get corrupted. I’ve been playing it on switch and while I would love an update to fix it all I’m still having a Great time with it

The mix is not good at all. The vocals completely overpower the backing track. That's why it sounds bad, because it isn't mixed well.

Been playing the game on and off. So far the game is pretty decent. Frame rate can get out right atrocious but for a poke-clone, it’s not bad
