  • Review of the Bellroy Transit Backpack plus which is a very impressive 38L travel pack that offers a minimal and stylish aesthetic, tons of comfort, a great organizational layout and just the right amount of space for one bag travel. If you are looking for a premium and versatile backpack for travel this will be tough to beat.
    What do you think of the Bellroy Transit Plus? Do you prefer a larger travel bag like this or something more minimal like the 28L Transit Pack?

    How does this compare to the 2022 Osprey Farpoint 40? Thing I don’t like about the Farpoint is that it has minimal organization to offer and has no quick access pockets other than the dump it pocket although I like the little drain in that pocket for wet gear

    Hello, I had been considering it for my EDC as my Classic Backpack Plus is a pain to use and I want to use a bigger bag to be able to hold my gaming laptop to travel around everyday for classes. This looks pretty suitable even if I would hardly use for travelling.

      Thank you for watching! I think this might feel slightly big for edc at least for my preferences but there is the transit version of this bag which is 28l so a little bigger than your current bag

    How do you compare this to the Minaal Carry On 3.0? Generally speaking, with respect to travel size compliance, and carry comfort?
    Great reviews btw!

      Thank you for watching and I’m glad the videos have been helpful! Both are really solid options, overall I prefer this one as I feel it’s more comfortable and I really like it’s organizational layout, this one is slightly bigger so there’s a little more risk on smaller international airlines of having someone who wants to check the sizing but it’s pretty close to the minaal and so far I haven’t run into any issues with similarly sized bags. Hope that helps a bit and please let me know if there are any additional questions I can help answer about the bags!:)

    Thanks for the review! This bag looks amazing…I know it might not fit in a personal item sizer, but do you think it would fit under the seat of a plane with how you had it packed out?

    • @dannypacks
      @dannypacks  4 місяці тому +1

      Thank you for watching! It would be fairly tight to go under most seats imo especially the height, a stricter attendant might say it has to go in the overhead

    Hi Dan,
    Nice review as always.
    I’m looking for a travel pack that can also be used daily for professional work. Preferably 28-38l size. My torso is 19.5” and I’m 5’8”.
    I’m looking at the Evergoods CHZ26, CPL28 v2, Bellroy’s Transit 28l, Plus 38l, and the Heimplanet Travel pack v2 34l.
    Since you’ve done reviews on most of these and maybe still have these bags, can you tell me how they compare on:
    1) aesthetics;
    2; comfort to wear long periods;
    3) organization
    Two small things that can be annoying are:
    - materials catching dirt easily or catching on animal hair;
    - execution of water material. Evergoods CHZ does the best job at this but their laptop compartment is together with the main and if fully packed, can’t be easily accessible
    Your inputs would be greatly appreciated! And thanks in advance.

      Thank you for watching and I’m glad the videos have been helpful! Definitely some good options there, the Evergoods bags are awesome I really love the aesthetic and they are pretty comfortable but they will definitely attract a good amount of cat hair. As far as organization and aesthetic the cpl is probably my favorite of the group followed by the bellroy transit 28 which also has a great layout and look and it’s actually a bit more comfortable than the Evergoods bags in my opinion. I believe the plus version of this and the heimplanet 34 are going to be a litttle big for daily carry. The heimplanet 28 is another solid option and maybe strikes the best balance on size for minimal travel and daily carry but the harness system is not quite as comfortable as the other 2. Hope that helps a bit and please let me know if there are any additional questions I can help answer about the bags!:)

      Thanks Dan!
      I am trying out the Bellroy Transit Plus 38l and see if that works. If not, I’ll swap for the 28l or go with Evergoods CPL 28l as you suggested. Thanks for the help and feedback!

    Hey Danny, I've been rewatching some of your videos, how does this compare to the Tortuga travel backpack 40L? This backpack's dimensions looks a bit too big for a carryon. 😮

    • @dannypacks
      @dannypacks  11 місяців тому +1

      Thank you for watching! Quality wise both bags are similar although I do think the tortuga is more comfortable and has better weather resistance. Both have a pretty useful layout, tortugas is more traditional as far as having external water bottle pockets and and admin are whereas the bellroy has a more minimal pocket approach. Capacity wise they can hold a similar amount and I typically prefer the clamshell opening of the bellroy to the suitcase style of the tortuga, and although they are larger bags both feel like they should work well as a carry on on a majority of airlines

    Awesome review! Can you rank how it compares in terms of comfort/support with waist belt to the following bags:
    Osprey Farpoint 40
    Nomatic Peter McKinnon
    Aer travel pak 2
    Minaal 2.0/3.0
    Black Ember Forge
    Peak Design Travel backpack
    Pakt travel backpack
    I own the Farpoint 40l but I'm looking for something with better laptop placement and preferably a matte black urban look. I'd like to be able to fully load it and have it be comfortable for long periods of carry. It'll be my main overhead international carry-on bag. Thank you!

    • @dannypacks
      @dannypacks  3 роки тому

      Thank you for watching and I’m glad the video was helpful! It’s going to be tough to match the farpoint in terms of comfort and support as that’s still one of the most comfortable I have tried out. I think this Bellroy bag does a pretty good job particularly with the straps and back panel but the waist belt is not quite as well integrated as the one on the farpoint. From the list my other favorites that can also hold a good amount is the Aer travel pack 2, that’s still my main go to for longer travel. I like the Peter McKinnon bag quite a bit and it is comfortable but it is a little too heavy once it’s loaded out and I’d be worried about taking it on any international airlines. I’m not a big fan of the straps on the peak design bag or the minaal bags, and although the forge and Pakt bags are really comfortable they may be too small if you are looking for something that can hold something similar to the farpoint. Have you considered the Tortuga Outbreaker? That one has a great harness system and a pretty nice look and laptop compartment as well. Hope that helps a. If and please let me know if there are any additional questions I can help answer about the bags!:)

    Love the review! Couldn’t find any for the plus. For week long trips do you recommend this or the AER travel pack 2

    • @dannypacks
      @dannypacks  3 роки тому +1

      Thank you for watching and I’m glad the video was helpful! Definitely a tough choice between the two! Overall I still prefer the Aer travel pack 2 as I find it a bit more comfortable and I actually like that it’s a little bit smaller, but if you need a little bit of extra space or want a better laptop area than the bellroy plus will be the way to go. Hope that helps a bit and please let me know if there are any additional questions I can help answer about the bags!:)

    Thank you for the awesome review. Would appreciate your feedback on the below questions:
    1. Is the harness system more comfortable than the aer travel pack 2?
    2. Any daisy chains or loops to attach extra gear?

    • @dannypacks
      @dannypacks  3 роки тому +1

      Thank you for watching and I’m glad the video was helpful! For the harness system, that’s a tough choice, both are really comfortable but for me overall I still prefer the Aer travel pack in that regard and unfortunately the bag doesn’t really have any lash points besides the top handle. Hope that helps a bit and please let me know if there are any additional questions I can help answer about the bags!:)

    Great review! Searching for the perfect one bag carry... do you think this will fit under the seat of Frontier or larger airlines? Thanks!

    • @dannypacks
      @dannypacks  2 роки тому +1

      Thank you for watching and I’m glad the video was helpful! This one might be a little tall to fit under the seat unfortunately, if you don’t fully pack it out and the airline attendants aren’t super strict you could maybe get away with it but I have always placed it in the overhead when I’ve traveled with it. The 28l might be a better option for fitting under the seat specifically. Hope that helps a bit and please let me know if there are any additional questions I can help answer!:)

    Did u find the shoulder straps loosen each time you wear it on? I find that the strap on the side i am swinging the bag to get my arm into often loosens about 1-2cm. Do you have an makeshift fix for this?

    • @dannypacks
      @dannypacks  3 роки тому +1

      Thank you for watching! So far I haven’t noticed a big issue with this but I will have to keep an eye out and see if I find myself having to adjust the straps regularly. In the past with other bags I haven’t found a good way to fix this so I normally just tweak the straps whenever they feel a little off. One of the better solutions I’ve seen are with something like the 5.11 bags that have the clips you can use to remove the straps from the bag and help keep them the same length when removing the bag.

      Thank you for watching and for the positive feedback! I’m glad the video was helpful and that’s a good / tough question! Overall it holds up with the best of them and if you can afford the higher price point it’s a great option. Some of the ones that would give it a run for its money would be the Aer travel pack 2 and the Tortuga outbreaker. Hope that helps a bit and please let me know if there are any additional questions I can help answer about the bag!:)
