    Free dollars is always good. The best thing to do is learn fundamentals, build a home lab and make sure you have a solid resume. If no one calling you it's because of the resume. If you get a job interview but don't get the job is because you lack technical knowledge or you need help with soft skills.

    Great video as always. Setting up virtual machines is a great way to get some hands on exp with tech not typically found on a home network. Setting up raspberry pi for different things is also great practice.

    A huge part of why I decided to try to get into the tech field is to get away from customer service. I can't imagine myself doing help desk.
    What other options are there for getting an entry level tech job that is not so customer service based?

    I have tried to get an entry level IT job, and I am in agreement with you. An A+ cert a good project, and a good LinkedIn profile will most likely help to land it.
    I would like to network with you on this Nicole.

      how long do these take to learn and can someone new to this learn it?

    • @jdrodrigues7
      @jdrodrigues7 6 місяців тому

       @jasondavies8722 You can get in easily because in the Sales world it is hard to find people who can not only sell but thrive admits the high quantity and consistent rejection. All the company really cares about during the interview process is do they believe you...
      * Are telling the truth about how rejection doesn't phase you even after 100 calls per day every day and does your background prove it?
      * Are you teachable?
      * Are you a self-starting go-getter hungry person who smiles their way through the challenges that cripple others?
      As long as you can prove that, you are going to get hired by most companies who are aggressively hiring for those roles. Because most new people in the whole sales industry quit, lack professionalizm during conflict, and aren't willing to self improve daily with a smile as they are pressured to meet quotas, those companies pay highly with a low barrier to entry.
      In less than two months right after taking the Google IT Support certificate, I made it to the third interview with SmartBear! They were offering for my first ever IT and SDR/BDR role $45,000 plus $5,000 commission for 6mo. with an automatic promotion to AE with $80,000 plus $20,000 commission after passing the 6mo. training.

    I'm currently on the fence about getting a bachelor's in comp sci/cybersec since I work full-time and I already have a non-IT bachelor's degree. Is getting that degree worth it or I should just space out time outside of work to learn fundamentals and skills?
