  • The new Ford Ranger Wildtrak features a class-first 2.0L bi-turbo engine and 10-speed automatic gearbox. It's more powerful than the older Wildtrak - in fact it's the most powerful pick-up truck in the segment! Find out all about it in this video.

    In New Zealand they offer two engine options with the new model. You can still have the old 3.2 engine if you wish which is what i did and very happy with all the upgrades but awesome to still have the old 3.2 engine under the hood.

    The guy with the 2.0 Bi-Turbo seems to be throwing shade at the 3.2L Ranger. It's more like trying to discourage a potential buyer rather than showing the differences of both top variant models.

    My friend just bought a Wildtrack, he test drove both vehicles the 3.2 6 speed and the 2.0 litre Bi Turbo 10 speed, the difference in power was amazing! The BiTurbo was that much better, enough to convince him to pay the extra and receive a lot of nice extras unavailable with the 3.2. If you are considering one of these you must drive both back to back. This is a great truck which tows 3.5 tons like it's not there and rides Australia's shitty roads like a limo. A great all round practical vehicle, well done Ford.

      Biturbo motor is going to work a lot harder to deliver the same sort of power, there is no replacement for displacement. Heavy off-roading you going to get the benefit of engine braking with the 3.2.

  • @davematthewbouffard5267
    @davematthewbouffard5267 5 років тому +5

    3.2 is more fun since you can tap the power as low as 1500 rpm while the 2.0 you have to make it scream a little more than 2000 rpm to get its full power. The 3.2 acceleration from a dig really pushes you into your seat whereas for the bi-turbo, you'd be shock that you've already reached 140kph at 6th gear. It's really just that smooth for the bi turbo.

      3.2 and 2.0 are close at low rpm, but the 2.0 pulls harder at high rpm. The 2.0 has more torque at all rpm. I've seen the torque curves for both engines. The HP is similar in both until 2500 rpm, when the 3.2 starts to drop off. After that, the 2.0 does better.

    The Wildtrak looks better on front end, better engine option. But in America we will be forced to pay a lot more for less than the rest of the world. Our optioned out XLT's and Lariats Rangers cost more for us than the Raptor Rangers do for the rest of the world. doesnt seem right. Why not just offer The Wildtrack set up in America? greed?
