  • Ford Ranger T6 2011-2022 Buyers guide review for 2.0 Ecoboost Diesel, 2.2TDCI, 3.2TDCI, 2.5, 2.3 Ecoboost). This guide includes the Ranger Raptor with the 2.0 diesel engine. Including common faults and problems to look out for and all you need to know if comparing the Ford Ranger to the VW Amarok or Toyota Hilux. Avoid buying a broken Ford Ranger by reading our maintenance and recall guide for both owners and buyers. The T6 chassis continues in the new 2023 Ford Ranger but started with the P375 generation. The new Ford Ranger and Ford Amarok will share a platform, unlike this first-generation mode. Find the Ranger that can go off-road and on-road without breaking the bank. Avoid the mistakes of buying a broken Ranger as a project and attempting to fix it if struggling to choose between a Nissan Navara or Toyota Hilux, VW Amarok, or Ford Ranger.
This buyer's guide covers the first generation Ford Ranger review from 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2022. We show the common faults and what you need to know before buying a Ford Ranger. We also discuss how much power each engine makes and the different bhp and torque figures to help if you are comparing a Ford Ranger and VW Amarok to see which is faster, and the dates engines arrived or were discontinued. We also highlight the 2015 and 2019 facelift of the Ranger.
The issues discussed in our buyer's guide include EGR issues, DPF problems, turbo problems and critical timing for the 3.2 TDCI engine service.

A MUST for the 3.2 is the wiring harness runs across the timing cover.. where the bolt on the left it can rub into the wiring, causing shutdown of the engine.
Simple fix.. put some conduit around the point of contact and zip tie it so it has a barrier.

The Oil Pump used is the same on both 2.2 and 3.2. Both engines have the 10 minute oil change warning and both engines are known for sudden and catastrophic oil pump failure with zero warning.
A recall was carried out on the same 2.2 in the Transit and the Defender and the pumps were upgraded - but not the Ranger.

Great video! Would like a similar video about the Isuzu d-max.
We used a Ford Ranger at my job and I really liked to drive it. Really powerful engine. Unfortunately the mechanic liked it too. The list of things that broke is long and it was always expensive. So looking for another brand.

We're big fans of the D-Max. Sam is forever talking about buying one. We'll try and add the D-Max to the future schedule 👍

This is a 5 years life car. After this you have a fortune whell. All, and i say all, seals fails. Transmission, clutch, plástic parts (a lot in motor) fronta and rear axle gear, window motors, etc, etc, etc. And forget electrical and electronic fails. Motor and transmission design is non logic. For example simple clutch pump fail need to move transmission. Vacuum pump is very sensitive for oil leak. Front amd rear oil seals are low quality. (3.2 diesel motor)

Ford Ranger is not a good car, these cars always leaking oil and ATF. I rather go for a Toyota.

Of couse ya woul mate! Toyota is what everyone reckons and quite rightly so, reliable, tough and what every one reckons BUT not nearly ad cool as a Ranger, not ad fun and not as characteristic. So blow that out of yr donkey!
