I bought mines at 61k miles and ima currently at 80k miles on the oem bearing I'm planning on changing them next week tho(note I litterly beat the car for those 19k miles and all I've changed was motor mounts and differential bushings and like 5 oil changes.)
@@Motorsports_3 If you don't mind me asking how much it will cost for the whole thing parts and labor? And are you planning to use OEM rod bearings or aftermarket ones?
@@Mm.2112 it's going to cost $2195 with taxes included and it includes acl rod bearings and arp bolts and motor mounts and all fluids that were removed. (The shop I'm taking to is precision dynamics in Costa masa)
Where’s the video of your rod bearings getting pulled. Don’t claim something if you don’t prove it. Every engine out there will eventually sound like this sooner or later.
Yeah that's why I sold it after 3 years of abusing it lol. Had to buy a house though so timing was perfect at the time. I do miss this beast, not gonna lie.
so happy to know you caught it and replaced it in time!
My e90 M3 sounded like that when the O2 oxygen sensors failed.
Sound like a spark Pak miss to me. I could not hear a ticking. And I am an e90 M3 owner as well
How many miles? & Did it ever happen again? I'm considering buying one and i'm trying to dig into ppl's actual experience other than consumer reports
Normally rod bearings are done between 60,000 and 70,000 miles and depending where you’re at it will cost you $2500-$3500

Thanks, mate
So did you catch the rod bearings in time? Was it the issue? Did you need a new engine or was it fixed?
Sorry I havent logged on to my UA-cam account for a long time. I had the rod bearings replaced right after that and no more knocking noise afterwards.
@@RobbieBaguio is the car still running?
if you hear rod bearing noise the engine in fried... i cannot hear it in your case
Usually too late by the time you hear that ☹️
No is not, as the engine have not seize yet
TIM Cheou the crank might have been damaged after running bad bearings on it
@@timcheou5649 you'll have bearing material that has circulated through the engines
Yeah, keep reving it. That’s what mechanics do. I’m sure the crank is all scratched now.
honestly I couldn't hear rod bearings... sounded more like an exhaust leak but mechanics will convince you to spend money
Watch the end of the video when he's in the interior. I couldn't hear it until he started filming from the inside
I was saying the same thing! I couldn’t hear anything
But you’re scratching the crank by revving it
That’s not rod knock lol
uiits almost like people purpodely try snd fuk up their rb lmao
Warm your car guys. 😅
What was the end result?
So you got bad rod bearings and revving it up is not helping anything you're just gonna fuck up the crank
It was the mechanic revving it, not me. I'm the one taking the video. Had the rod bearings swapped right after this so crisis averted.
Yeah I just had this problem just now
Rip bank account
@@EPdetailing108 is like 3k to replace no problem . you broke ass mf .
It like a flickering ticking noise
That exhaust leak. You got hosed.

Yeah i wish i had a video of them swapping the rod bearings. I only have pictures of the old one and unfortunately cant upload it here.
The problem is you bought a BMW 🤑😂
