Just FYI - You CAN dye and set the color (when using a dye for synthetic blends and the recommended setting process). That said, most people don't want to do that work. This method solves that. :)
I love this idea! Thanks for sharing Sarah. It allows us to create cool patterns you just cannot buy or may be harder to find. You can also do them in so many different colors that the possiblities are endless.
Agree with everything. you said! I also like that it allows those who don't sew to combine things in a secure way, too. Thank you so much for watching :)
Aww thank you, Darla. I have to tell you, challenging myself is the only way I stay sane. I'm just not one of those people who can do the same thing over and over again.
Hey Sarah, I always learn something new every time I watch one of your videos. I will have to give this technique a try. Can't wait to see what I come up with. Thank you for sharing. I'm not brave enough to try the painting of the faux fur yet.
Thank you for sharing this! It’s awesome to see the blending. Can you tell the name of the brushes you used for the hot glue part? I really like those. Blessings
First, thank you so much for the kind words. The hot glue stick I'm using is called a silicone face mask spatula. I got a 4 pack on Amazon but have seen them individually in the Dollar Tree aisle sometimes as a single.
Of course, Ann. If you search gnome DIY or something like that, you will see a list of groups come up on Facebook. My group (gnomes and all crafts) is here: facebook.com/groups/diygnomesandcrafts/ We share different techniques, inspiration, tutorials, and all kinds of other stuff. It's a really kind, helpful place and, unlike some groups, we moderate it so it can stay that way.
Yes, you can use a cat or dog brush or comb (or a human comb); one with teeth and not bristles works best without damage. The bristle brushes are great for brushing out yarn into a fur-like texture.

Even as just a method of securing fur appliques for sewing, this isn't a bad method. I'm gonna yoink this for fursuits. :3
So glad you liked it!
Thank you so much for the tutorial! ❤❤
Tyfs Very informative I will definitely be giving these tips a try Great video :)
Sarah, I have learned so much from you. Thank you, thank you.

Thank you, Nancy! 😊Thanks for being here with me this morning for the premiere. ❤️
Awesome video! I heard you mention gnome groups. Would you please share more info on that?
Of course, Ann. If you search gnome DIY or something like that, you will see a list of groups come up on Facebook. My group (gnomes and all crafts) is here: facebook.com/groups/diygnomesandcrafts/

Brilliant! Thank you. What is a gnome group?
Oh, they are Facebook groups where people chat and learn about gnome-making. Mine is here: facebook.com/groups/diygnomesandcrafts/
How did you get the purple on the beard?
wow,
How do you cut faux fur 5x5in. Maltese
Are you using a dog brush to brush out fur?
Yes, you can use a cat or dog brush or comb (or a human comb); one with teeth and not bristles works best without damage. The bristle brushes are great for brushing out yarn into a fur-like texture.
I have that same glue gun 😅😂
That thing is awesome; I always have one ready to go because I drop them all the time. LOL
