      Could try bending the studs where they need to be without marring the threads. I had a challenge doing that as well but eventually forced them into position.

    How long did it take and did you have to readjust anything? I have a 95 with same issue

      @roughcutsgarage  2 роки тому

      No issues or readjustments other than the clutch pedal position. Took me like 2 full days to figure out but with this vid probably would now take me a few hours.

    How's the steering wheel disconnect u show the seat being removed and at same time it looks as if steering as been unbolted

    Might be a dumb question but when you pushed the clutch in could you see the bracket moving at all? I'm getting symptoms of my clutch not fully disengaging but when I looked today it seemed solid as a rock and I couldn't see a crack, but then again I had hell of a hard time maneuvering my big head into the space by the pedals. I'm hoping it's okay and just needs a slave cylinder

      Yes, I got my head and flashlight up there and when I pushed the clutch pedal with my hand, I could see the bracket flex with each press.

      @@roughcutsgarage right on thanks for the quick reply, I'll try slave cylinder and hope for the best

    How long do these brackets last? Put one on in the last 5ish years and now having trouble again. From all the vids I've seen they all break in that upper left corner. What kind of shop did u take it to? Just a machine shop?

    • @roughcutsgarage
      @roughcutsgarage  2 роки тому

      Not sure but as far as I know from the records we have on this truck it has never been replaced. We just took it to a welding shop and specified what the part was for and why it broke there and asked them to beef up the corner in places that wouldn't affect the fitment. One of the studs for the clutch master cylinder was a little misaligned when I got it back but after some grunting fit her back in.

    • @roughcutsgarage
      @roughcutsgarage  2 роки тому

      It cost us like $85 for them to do it. They estimated half an hour to weld and paint.

    • @roughcutsgarage
      @roughcutsgarage  2 роки тому

      Thats 85$ Canadian.

    Why are you taking the steering wheel off

    • @roughcutsgarage
      @roughcutsgarage  2 роки тому

      To make enough wiggle room to get the bracket out. Only dropped it though.

  • @xDATxGAMERx

    Did it fix the issue of not going into reverse and hard time moving into 1st gear?

  • @danielpierce6108
    @danielpierce6108 2 роки тому

    So you took the brake pedal off?

    • @roughcutsgarage
      @roughcutsgarage  2 роки тому +1

      Yes in order to get the bracket out past the steering column.
