I actually love the direction they went with in Part 6, it's like a slice-of-life that always has this tension in the background, it's more effective now because of how relatable it is, you don't see many stories where the tension is built through the character oversleeping because he got tired from a long trip, people may find the slow pacing annoying, but the series is slow because of its attention to details and realistic plot which is always a plus in my book. Also it's great seeing how smart Kaiji has become and how deeply calculating he is in the simplest things, like buying a house and furniture.

One thing I've learnt is that a bunch of people that read fkmt works basically speed read scan pages for highlight bits. It's tragic when he's the undoubted pacing king to find out some of his fans are rather shallow in what they appreciate haha. Part 6 is FKMT in his absolute prime. Masterpiece, genuinely. His writing has never been this tight and no-nonsense. And I know that may sound odd for the part with so many gags. But there are no wasted gags. Everything is leveraged as stakes against our main characters (trio and endou). People don't know what they're reading.
Something that was interesting in Part 6 is the characters like Dolly and The Allies Kaiji is making along the way. It really shows a massive change in Kaiji as he able to better Read and understand people. I bring Dolly cause his behavior is similar to Ohtisuki. Really comes down to Ohtsuki always trying to frame his actions as a good thing when he was a disgusting snake. But Dolly never bothered with that pretext. Dolly's honesty told Kaiji he could be trusted. Even debate with Granny now Kaiji is going to clean up the misunderstanding instead of letting it fester and build up like Meada and Miyoshi let Kaiji save a friendship. Kaiji learns how to better interact with society.
I've got a mental image of Ichijou escaping the underground and being on a run himself as a masked vigilante who harasses Kaiji by surrounding him with pachinko machines and dumping balls into his house (pachinko balls I mean)
part 6 is a nice change of pace and still has some of the high tension elements that I love. The stuck in shopping mall arc was unique because we got to see Kaiji communicate his strats to mario over the phone, whilst also trying to keep him composed. It has given us more insight on Kaijis leadership skills (in contrast to Endoh's lack of leadership) which is not something we always get to see.
Kaiji has never been happier with his two best friends. You would have never seen Kaiji build a money bed in previous arcs. part 6 has been great for light heartedness. Now though, it looks like things are picking up again. My prediction is that Endou will be unable to catch Kaiji and co and as a result, hyuodo will personally invite will invite Kaiji for a final gamble, one that if he wins will make him rich and ultimately set him free of the burden of constantly being on the run. He obviously takes him up on his offer (because he’s learned nothing despite being hung upside down in a death machine suspended two stories above ground. Of course, that’s why we love him 💀)
After the initial shock of "where are the gambles??", I learned to enjoy part 6 for what it is, you can really tell Fukumoto is having fun with it (hopefully while preparing a more serious part 7) I know it's a bit cruel, but I can't help but laugh when I remember that the "gay van camping arc" mentally broke the Kaiji scanlator at the time lol

I wasn't bored once reading part 6. Finally we got to know more about kaiji as a everyday person through his mother or just the way he is dealing with people. It gave him even more relatable points (thing I didn't know was possible) and the goofy scenes helped emphasize the more common beauty of human nature found in comfy everyday life. Kurosawa was very good at this too. The gambling aspect didn't really disappear also. Think of the part when Chang was stuck in the countryside, when Kaiji had to siege at his mom's or when they had to push the truck behind a wall to hide it from a pursuer. They were all tense as fuck situations. All of the escape arc has been a literal gamble in a sense. There are other gambling/mind game manga like Usogui or Alice in borderland if you seek nonstop thrilling survival mindgame kino
I honestly really love Part 6. Sure I like part 5 more but I think people really underappreciate how seeing Kaiji actually being able to hang with friends he can genuinely is good for him. And it’s not like he still don’t have the high stakes games or gambles they’re just now then trying to escape teia instead of actual gambling which gives an air of freshness
Ah Kaiji Part 6 my beloved... I read the Part 6 in a very remote Diyarbakır village home of my grandparents. Firstly I knew there were no gambles in Part 6 so I was prepared for what's to come for Kaiji. At the village, the internet was extremely slow and there was only one point where it was connected in the mud-home. I had to stand up on the couch and raise my hand above into the sky, being wary since the phone could fall below to the sheep pen. It took me half the time I stayed there (about 2 and a half weeks) to finish Part 6 (till chapter 461) and honestly I ENJOYED EVERY SINGLE PAGE I READ- maybe because there was nothing else to do except fighting with my cousins whom on average, were like 10 years younger than me (I did, indeed, fought them in the latter 2 and a half weeks 💀) but honestly, those reading times were some of the best parts of this year for me. I especially loved the mini-arc where Kaiji stayed at his mother's home. The parts where Mario was trying to escape from the mall and Chang trying to find the abandoned house too. Those were a mix of comedy done well integrated into thriller due to the stakes they had. Kaiji Part 6 done it so well as you said. Oh and I LOOOVED the interactions of the Asian Trio (not the old one 😊) with other characters like Mone, Dolly and the camper-neighbour guys (btw 07:06 that zoo📁 thing, I think it was the opposite, right? The neighbours suspected Kaiji to be 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝓪𝓴𝔂 with them animals 💀) Damn there are so many things to talk about Part 6! Sure, I realized I had missed the gambling scenarios but I'm not complaining. We got less-materialized gamble-like situations along the way, actually the whole arc was like a huge gamble tbh. This part shows why character driven stories are more successful than the plot driven ones, for I don't read slice of life-comedy type of stories but I did for Kaiji. I enjoyed it but I know I won't do it for any other story. And hear me out on this- I just hope the trio at some point loses this money some way but gain or are offered the same if not even more from Teiai. For... if the gang manages to keep em all, I'm not sure if people would relate to the message it would give... Gambling can save you!? I realized halfway through that the gang was spending lots of money in means of saving/protecting it. Maybe in that journey to protect that money, they would end up having spent the most of it (is that even possible lol) and can understand money earned through gambling is not OK at all- of course that's what my heart desires and I know it doesn't go well with Kaiji at all. I just think it would be neat. (And I know Kaiji deserved to get that money %100 (I was literally SCREAMING for Kaiji to win against Kazuya 😭) but man... Idk... It just doesn't sit right me if the series ends with the trio going their way through the money they won from the gambling... The conclusion it implies... Naaaahh 😞) (And yeah Kaiji also won money through gambling many times but each time that money was either lost again or the majority of it was spent for non-personal desire/pleasure issues) So overall I like this part. For me: Part1 > Part5 > Part2 > Part6 > Part4 > Part3
I personally love part 6. Part 4-5 are for sure my favorite parts in terms of tension and the grander themes they discuss (particularly between Kaiji and Kazuya) and could be considered peak. But after a peak there has to be de-escalation, and that is exactly the function of part 6. Beyond being a fun read in that you get to see Kaiji, Mario and Chang just deal with more realistic and silly issues, its a well deserved breather for Kaiji who has been duking it out for so long. The recent chapters (speaking as of 442) have been implying a somewhat escalation in the involvement of Hyoudou (and there were 2 panels of Kazuya within a flashback T__T) so I'm definitely excited for that, but all the same I like the inherently more relaxed nature of how it's been. (Somewhat off topic PS) I also think FKMT's slice of life stuff works well in its own right. I've been reading the Ichijou spinoff (albeit that's only a collaboration with FKMT) and the inherently ridiculously intense Ichijou next to normal everyday things is just funny. Honestly, I'll probably go more into FKMT now that I'm caught up on Kaiji :)
Just reached part 6, I really like it. It's a great change of pace where it's about Kaiji protecting his winnings for once and exploring more characters instead of just gambling
DAMN, we need MORE Kaiji vids like this. It's sad that there isnt too much Kaiji content out there But its great to see that there are people who really are passionate about it. Thanks for the great video man. Which is your favorite part in Kaiji?
I like the direction of part six, it’s heading into the direction of an ending probably not an immediate ending cause a climax between kaiji and tehai is probable. But when the end comes I think it’ll be a great ending
I personally like how part 6 is going, it feels like the end given endou is the antagonist which mirrors how he took advantage of kaiji at the start of the series
I also like this concept. It's a good use of re-using characters instead of creating new ones, makes the narrative feel more tight and intense cause we have beef with Endou!
I'm just really gonna be sad when they finally split paths. It's gonna happen but I don't want them to T_T. Kaiji finally found people he could trust with his life after 5 parts in his series. (Also I love the direction of the 6th part. It makes the whole series more realistic as a whole and encompasses everything I ever wanted from a gambling/psychological manga)
Even though I haven't read the sixth part, I enjoyed hearing your assessment of it, and I'm really looking forward to checking it out. The editing and scripting of this video is especially hilarious (he love da gamba; you know he doesn't mind some 50 dollar smackdowns on Big Red every now and then). That said, even from what I've gone through so far of Kaiji, I'm still relieved to hear Kaiji is getting a small break, and if anything, I'm almost afraid it's setting him up for an even more devastating fall in part 7, as is the ride with gambling. That said, again, this video is wonderfully edited, and it's hard to pick out a favorite segment. Fukumoto's sniped marriage with the 3 bamboo tile, Kazuya takin a lil' slip, the bros enjoying That Van Life... We may not be getting a Kaiji S3 anytime soon, but I'm happy to take the antics of this ^^
Thankyou for the extremely kind words and I am very glad you found the video funny! I appreciate the time you took to write this comment and for watching the vid as well 😊
when i was reading kaiji straight-though for the first time, part 6 was just starting at when mario was entering the mall. i vividly remember the joy of reaching part 6 and finally getting a moment to breathe and see everyone happy. i had an absolute BLAST reading it. i have a ton of nostalgia surrounding the time in my life when i was traveling or anything, and then continuing part 6 for the comfort and familiarity of it. it's definitely my favorite arc, flaws included. i think this change of pace was inevitable and that it came at a good time in the story; after all the heat and intensity of the previous parts, it was extremely satisfying to see kaiji succeeding and trusting and loving and being loved. fucking awesome. my biggest gripe is so far is just how BADLY I MISS KAZUYA !!! WAKE HIM UPPPP!!!!
@@Swuh HE'S IN A HOSPITAL BED RIGHT NOW so at least he is safe 😔😔😔 cannot WAIT to see how he clears up the situation once he wakes up. will he take his dad's side and believe kaiji saved him out of selfishness? will he advocate for kaiji's "naive" love for others and convince hyoudou of kaiji's true intentions? how will he feel about the manhunt in general?? kazuya LOST fair and square, and he doesn't give a shit about money + cares about things being fair for the majority part, so will he try to call off the manhunt?? or will he let it slide out of bitterness and embarrassment?? i think best case scenario is that kazuya defends kaiji's intentions of saving him out of selflessness, either because he knows kaiji would be "stupid" enough to do such a thing or because being saved was enough to convince him that he Can be loved without motive. Then he tries to call off the manhunt because 1) i did all this myself, DAD, and 2) i LOST, OK?? middle scenario is he just goes along with everything with a kind of pathetic blobfish face, absolute WORST case is he is completely exhausted and wordless and remembers nothing anyway due to head trauma
I love this video :D It was time for some of the trio bromance appreciation! It shows such a realistic lifestyle for many to relate to; how us, humans, behave goofy even in the most fucked situations we can be involved in
Such a good video, its a shame that the anime series is almost 15 FUCKING YEARS frozen and few people can actually watch and understand the arguments brought to the table, since even fewer people have read the manga
What makes it even harder is that the literal next arc after the anime is Mahjong based. It's pretty daunting for someone to learn how mahjong is played even without Kaiji shenanigans mixed in. It also doesnt help the anime seems to be trapped within a Pachinko machine hell, similar to the crap Konami does with it's I.Ps 😔. Thanks for watching!
Honestly, Part 6 being different for stories sake is actually shows that it is made out of actual interest, because often series can get stale and retreat in repeating same story beats over and over for sake of getting good old cash so changing it to show actual progression is great thing.
i think part 6 is good for kaiji bc constant gambles are going to lead to him losing. he needs a cooldown period before his luck can come back in a real gamble
The parts I liked were the Kaijis mom stuff, Mario and the store and everything hyodo and endo related. Which might seem like a lot of stuff but there are so much stuff I simply loathed . Biggest example is those two bums that wasted God knows how many chapters and now the grandma stuff the car chase etc . It’s my least favorite part for sure but I do enjoy it’s heights ( even if it doesn’t compare to previous parts).
it's certainly a weird one where one chapter is really interesting endou and hyodo drama then it jumps to alcoholic campers bantering about a titty magazine lolol
@@Swuh yeah and honestly I did not like that. I don’t mind comedy but when half the manga becomes gag it becomes boring and annoying to read through. It’s the longest Kaiji part for literally 0 good reasons. If the author actually wrote without relying on useless gags we’d probably already be on the final part. Idk I’m sad one of my favorite mangas has been reduced to such an inconsistent mess.
@@awwabdelgrasso6885 yeah and again the story is unbelievably slow and directionless. Like u can cut the two bums whole story and not much would change. We could’ve had more time for developing the characters more maybe ? Or introducing more antagonists other than endo and hyodo to increase tension and yk use the length of the part for smth useful yk ? But no it’s all useless with some good parts here and there. Now the manga is on hiatus for idk how long and not much of the story seems purposeful.
Been reading Kaiji since 2016. Thats 7 years ago. Back then, I did not understand how manga was released and for like two months I checked every day for a new chapter lol The drag is real and I only check in every few months now. Im also a fan of one piece, ippo, baki and jojo so im used to long waiting times by now
I like part 6 a lot. I think one of the major criticisms of Kaiji was that all his wins felt pointless, because he was always destined to make a really dumb decision that snatched it all away from him and reset him back to zero again, when a wiser person would be capable of knowing when to stop and start enjoying the money rather than frittering it away gambling. The camper van/homeowner adventures feel like a new direction. Finally, he doesn't have another game to distract him from what he must do - to squirrel away as much money as possible, keeping it safe from both Teiai and himself. He has so much money that he can't realistically spend it all, and some of it is now legitimately protected by banks in the form of the passbooks. There's always a feeling of tension in the background, and as soon as the trio start to let their guard down, they are reminded that they are fugitives who can't be carefree. I want to see more of this, but also the clever gambling games are what really draw people in. I don't think Kaiji has had enough gambling yet, but I also like that he's not continuously doubling down on every bet he makes. It seems like he as finally realized that 2.4 billion yen is enough.
exactly, I really like FKMT made it so Kaiji actually learnt from his previous gambling mishaps and moved forward with his character (and getting bags of cash). Thanks for watching and thank you for your thoughts!
Definitely my favorite arc it’s very refreshing also have you heard of fukumotos next manga coming out this year? We got a teaser and it’s called nikaido hell golf it will have similar themes of karma as he puts it like Kurosawa!
Me from the future you were right on the money fukumoto just confirmed part 6 ends in one more chapter and part 7 is the final part of kaiji. He will go back to gambling, I’m beyond hyped and I hope kaiji finally gets his sweet revenge, maybe fukumoto will do these side gambling arcs and the final 10 volumes will be against hyodo either way I’m excited as hell.
For the most part I love part 6, it’s very different compared to the other parts, but I think it’s built up to that, my only real complaint is the snail pace as you said, at times it felt like it’s stalling for the next big thing, the part right after Mario almost got caught is pretty snoozer, though I appreciate the more human moments, and in particular how it characterises the people from teiai, I just have no idea how long it’s gonna last and when it’s gonna end. When they first started it I was super surprised, now it feels more like the norm for nothing to happen

I love part 6 because of the adorable domestic vibes I get from the van gang, especially when they all first move into the house together (and *especially* between Kaiji and Chang. Those two are definitely cuddling when Mario isn't looking). Also, the comedic tone is just so refreshing after incredibly tense death games of parts 4 and 5. I loved them both of course, but it's non stop mind games and stress, for hundreds of chapters on end, that just getting the chance to settle down and enjoy some semblance of "peace" feels great. I did however find myself taking longer and longer breaks in between reading sessions in part 6, which I hadn't done with any of the previous arcs (I devoured 90% of the manga over the course of like 1 month, but it took me about triple that amount to fully catch up with part 6). I guess in my head, I'm basically just waiting for the other shoe to drop. I especially want to know what Kazuya will do about this whole mess (if he ever comes back). I can't imagine an ending to Kaiji where he just gets away scot-free--I believe that FKMT-sama will deliver and give us a satisfying final showdown with Teiai before this is over!
Part 6 feels so fresh, even compared to stuff like Kurosawa. 80% of Fukumoto's work is dudes playing Mahjong, honestly Akagi was kinda hard to read during the 20 year Mahjong battle because it goes on for so long. The gambling is great, but Kaiji is about the character himself, and part 6 is still true to who he is.
I'm having a lot of fun with Part 6, I love the characters and FKMT's storytelling. It may not be GAYMES but he's still creating tons of tense fun scenarios. Also yeah no I LOVE his comedy, as someone who read Kurosawa as you mentioned. Part 5 is still my favorite and I am excited when/if Kazuya re-enters the story.
I love part 6. Endou is so damn goofy. I love spinoffs too so I've got a soft spot for goofy villains Fukumoto feeding us at 3 for 1 with his wondrous kfc phone neurosis gay camping mini-arc
What I don't like of part 6 is that mario got out of the mall thanks to the supervition of god, and Endou should have jumped. The part of Chang having to return to Kaiji and Mario was peetty good tho
Only bad thing is the pacing. FKMT style works really well in gambles or bets but is super-slow in slice of life. Weird because it worked with Kurosawa.
@@johanmedrano1924 In my opinion kaiji should have ended after part 5 One poker hen. That arc was amazing. Part 4 was good too but part 3 is just mahjong cluster fk

I didn’t have a problem with part 6 at the beginning, in fact it was good to watch kaiji take a breather after all the shit that happened. But the shit now lasted over 200 chapters and it starting to get real boring so hopefully we get the final showdown between kaiji and teiai soon
Kaiji Part 6 is amazing. Given the choice between playing it safe and doing more of the same or to progress the narrative of the protagonist, he took the gamble and changed it up. It's a little slow(especially now that I've caught up and have to rely on scanlators for new chapters), but there's still gambling, just not the kind where each participant necessarily understands all the rules. Having Kaiji break away from the underground gambling scene and explore Japan and meet people with Mario and Chang lends credibility to the world.
Yeah, specialty the plot devices... I mean, characters that are conveniently always in the best moment and time to help Kaiji, that really add "credibility" to the world.
I haven't read part 6(waiting till its finished) & don't need to read it to know it's been controversial af, & fair to say pissd myself laughing when people started posting the zoophile stuff, so out of left-feld😂 Your also the first person I've seen say they've liked P6😲 Oh & do you plan on doing fukumoto videos? I'd love to see a vid on Gin to Kin or Kurosawa parts 1-2👀
Part 6 is... Not bad. I like it less than the rest of Kaiji, but I don't really dislike it either. The tense moments are built up similarly as in the rest of Fukumoto's work, but the tension falls a bit flat for me when the risk causing the tension is "Teiai will find out we are in this town, and they will be able to pursue us more intensively!", whereas in earlier parts the tension was built around literal gambles on life and death. That said, I quite enjoy the more comedic elements, like the van gang's antics, Endou's misadventures, and the snarky narrator pointing out that Kaiji's mistreating his mother. I will be happy is this is the calm before the storm, like you suggest.

And it’s not like he still don’t have the high stakes games or gambles they’re just now then trying to escape teia instead of actual gambling which gives an air of freshness
kaiji with friends = feels good man
Ah Kaiji Part 6 my beloved...
The neighbours suspected Kaiji to be 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝓪𝓴𝔂 with them animals 💀)
Damn there are so many things to talk about Part 6!
Naaaahh 😞)
(And yeah Kaiji also won money through gambling many times but each time that money was either lost again or the majority of it was spent for non-personal desire/pleasure issues)
So overall I like this part.
For me:
Part1 > Part5 > Part2 > Part6 > Part4 > Part3
thankyou for the generous comment and your thoughts!
Great write up!
Just reached part 6, I really like it. It's a great change of pace where it's about Kaiji protecting his winnings for once and exploring more characters instead of just gambling
DAMN, we need MORE Kaiji vids like this. It's sad that there isnt too much Kaiji content out there
But its great to see that there are people who really are passionate about it.
Thanks for the great video man.
Which is your favorite part in Kaiji?
Thanks for watching and the kind words! My fav part is a draw between part 2 and 5 😊.
I like the direction of part six, it’s heading into the direction of an ending probably not an immediate ending cause a climax between kaiji and tehai is probable. But when the end comes I think it’ll be a great ending
God man you deserve more recognition
Thankyou for the kind words!
They're basically on the run from sketchy people. One wrong move and they'll lose everything. It's the ultimate gamble.
Kaiji is easily my favorite series of all time. I really hope that minefield mahjong gets adapted at some point.
🥹🥹🥹 kaiji and his friends 🥹🥹🥹
It’s insane that it’s still ongoing 💀
Me at 52 waiting for Kaiji part 14 to end 💀💀💀💀💀
I love part 6. Kaiji is just paling around with his 2 BFFs. He finally found 2 people he can trust ;u;
Part 6 is the best, Kaiji deserve the rest.
I appreciate the time you took to write this comment and for watching the vid as well 😊
Kaiji has to beat Kazutaka Hyodo in a gamble before the series ends
when i was reading kaiji straight-though for the first time, part 6 was just starting at when mario was entering the mall. i vividly remember the joy of reaching part 6 and finally getting a moment to breathe and see everyone happy. i had an absolute BLAST reading it. i have a ton of nostalgia surrounding the time in my life when i was traveling or anything, and then continuing part 6 for the comfort and familiarity of it.
it's definitely my favorite arc, flaws included. i think this change of pace was inevitable and that it came at a good time in the story; after all the heat and intensity of the previous parts, it was extremely satisfying to see kaiji succeeding and trusting and loving and being loved. fucking awesome. my biggest gripe is so far is just how BADLY I MISS KAZUYA !!! WAKE HIM UPPPP!!!!
When will Kazzy wake up from his coma, is he still at the warehouse asleep
The escape arc is my favorite part of kaiji.
I love this video :D It was time for some of the trio bromance appreciation! It shows such a realistic lifestyle for many to relate to; how us, humans, behave goofy even in the most fucked situations we can be involved in
The Van Gang!!!! Thanks for the kind words, it means a lot 😊.
Honestly, Part 6 being different for stories sake is actually shows that it is made out of actual interest, because often series can get stale and retreat in repeating same story beats over and over for sake of getting good old cash so changing it to show actual progression is great thing.
you make a good point!
please do more kaiji stuff, you're actually really funny
16 months of kaiji part 6 hiatus 😔i swear fukumoto better cook PEAK for part 7
What a great vid, I hope more people get on the greatness of kaiji
I like your Spyro pfp, he is a chonker
I really like part 6, it's by no means my favorite, but I really like just how different it is
i think part 6 is good for kaiji bc constant gambles are going to lead to him losing. he needs a cooldown period before his luck can come back in a real gamble
The part is still full of midngames, I'm all for it.
Idk I’m sad one of my favorite mangas has been reduced to such an inconsistent mess.
i couldnt agree more. also the tension feels kind of relieved cuz kaiji hasn't had a single loss in the whole arc which is not very kaiji
Im also a fan of one piece, ippo, baki and jojo so im used to long waiting times by now
It felt so good waiting for jojolion to end so I could read it in one go 🔥🔥
I like part 6 a lot.
Hes making a new one? Sounds pretty cool from what you described 👍👍
my man kaiji finally starts acting in a non degenerate way holy took him long enough
Finally got to Part 6 and I think it's my favorite one so far!
Noice!
Me from the future you were right on the money fukumoto just confirmed part 6 ends in one more chapter and part 7 is the final part of kaiji. He will go back to gambling, I’m beyond hyped and I hope kaiji finally gets his sweet revenge, maybe fukumoto will do these side gambling arcs and the final 10 volumes will be against hyodo either way I’m excited as hell.
ay YO!!!!!??? Damn I need to re-read part 6 then! ( I was waiting for it to fully finish :o)
@@Swuh we still gotta wait the hiatus has been painful.
Thanks to this I found out Kaiji has more than 2 parts omg! Sadly, this means I can't watch past the 3:10...
Im glad you found out! go read those parts!!!!!!
@@Swuh I'm already busy reading Akagi, haha :D About that, can I ask you how did you learn Mahjong? I've been really enjoying the manga but a lot of the time I just don't understand the strategy behind Akagi's moves. I've seen a few videos explaining the game and even played it myself for a bit, but I'm still getting lost. I was hoping someone already made an Akagi/Kaiji Mahjong guide but I guess it's not that popular...maybe you could tackle it in a future video? :D
I have a quick video called the "Smooth Brains guide to mahjong", but my first introduction was Kaiji part 3! I was forced to learn it playing the Yakuza game series :D
Also regarding Akagi's strategy, dont try to hard to understand his moves turns because anything signifigant will be either told by the Narrator or other characters.
@@SmookieYT
👍
@@Swuh I guess I didn't explain it well...I usually don't understand even after the narrator or some character explains what's going on. :D There's usually a big panel showing Akagi's winning hand and I'm stuck trying figure out how did he actually win because I feel like his hand breaks all the rules I've been thought. I guess I don't remember all of the yaku's and the Japanese names for them etc...or Akagi is just too damn smart :D I'll have a look at your video, hopefully it will help me understand the game better
Mahjong is hard because there are so many ways to win that do not follow the standard win condition, even more so when you consider regional/specific rulesets that have even MORE ways to win! It takes time, dont feel too bad about not following how he wins ! @@SmookieYT
I want degenerate gambling back
We need degen gamba
Fukomoto made so much gambling manga that even if kaiji isn't gambling anymore, you can still read his other works like akagi and zero.
Thanks for watching front-facing Joe
it's a nice breather aftter some much tension tbh
Very nice video summary
Glad you liked it 👍
i still love it, the same positives to me are still there
I love part 6 because of the adorable domestic vibes I get from the van gang, especially when they all first move into the house together (and *especially* between Kaiji and Chang.
Van gang for life!
I agree!
6:24 How Part 7 should play out:
i love the way you color some panels of a page
Thankyou! It takes some time but I think its worth it 😊
@@Swuh wait you do the colour yourself? Great job!
@@Anny-me9ny you are too kind 🥰
I'm having a lot of fun with Part 6, I love the characters and FKMT's storytelling. It may not be GAYMES but he's still creating tons of tense fun scenarios. Also yeah no I LOVE his comedy, as someone who read Kurosawa as you mentioned. Part 5 is still my favorite and I am excited when/if Kazuya re-enters the story.
The van gang!
Have you seen Middle Manager Tonegawa? That one is gold.
@@Diabl0Mask Its on my plan to watch!
I love part 6. Endou is so damn goofy. I love spinoffs too so I've got a soft spot for goofy villains
Fukumoto feeding us at 3 for 1 with his wondrous kfc phone neurosis gay camping mini-arc
Couldn't of said it better myself 😆😆😆
What I don't like of part 6 is that mario got out of the mall thanks to the supervition of god, and Endou should have jumped. The part of Chang having to return to Kaiji and Mario was peetty good tho
he had the power of god and anime on his side
Great vid man
Thanks 😊
I wanted to find the furry neighbors just out of curiosity
I just caught up and I love it
Only bad thing is the pacing.
FKMT style works really well in gambles or bets but is super-slow in slice of life.
Weird because it worked with Kurosawa.
I agree 👍
I hate the freaking Ishitaka arc so much
I think the pacing of Part 6 would be less annoying if the narrator didn't focus on the same point for 3 entire pages
Swuh I love you
happy holidays and a happy new year to you :D
My main problem with the part is the pacing, still good tho
Yeah the pacing is weird but I wonder if it will be less felt when read in one go
Legend 👏
The Kaiji anime stopped right where it should have. Change my mind!
It is still ongoing what are you talking about
@@maruf7956 I meant anime, I edited it. Thanks.
@@johanmedrano1924 In my opinion kaiji should have ended after part 5 One poker hen. That arc was amazing. Part 4 was good too but part 3 is just mahjong cluster fk
0:26 alright, what happened with ttgl?
Will you also make a video about Strongest Man Kurosawa in the future? The manga is extremely underrated and needs more attention
Maybe!
akagi was a savant?
its possible, im sure someone will make an Akagi character analysis. (i need to read Ten first if I were to ever make one)
Where did you get that One Poker Hen footage?
You just reminded me I need to put it in the description! It is from Kaiji Pachinko machines and promotional footage for said pachinko machines. If you search "Kaiji pachislot" it should come up with related stuff. EDIT: I have updated the description. The footage is there :))
soooo...whens part 6 gonna get continued? last update was 1 year ago...
Whenever fukumoto gets tired of his new golf manga is my guess. Been nearly two years on hiatus now.
I haven't read part 6(waiting till its finished) & don't need to read it to know it's been controversial af, & fair to say pissd myself laughing when people started posting the zoophile stuff, so out of left-feld😂
Your also the first person I've seen say they've liked P6😲
Oh & do you plan on doing fukumoto videos?
I'd love to see a vid on Gin to Kin or Kurosawa parts 1-2👀
I might if I find something to talk about! Thanks for watching 😊😊
Thanks for watching!
The name of the arc isn't 6th Part, it's the Gay Camping arc
