Interestingly, in Season 1 The Deep was sexually assaulted and the scene made clear how horrific it is. I guess that's because Season 1 had one of the creators of Breaking Bad involved. You know, a person with actual talent.

This show sucks bad, and is incredibly problematic in a lot of ways. This isn't one of them. It's mocking the way that there are crazy hoaxes being spoken about while the system behind them is manufacturing much worse conspiracies. There’s too much “deconstruction” going on in modern media. Heroes can’t be all good, villains can’t be all bad. Everything has to reflect modern sentiments. I was rewatching the Lord of The Rings trilogy and the honesty and heart of it is always a breath a fresh air. It’s sad that most modern media will not stand the test of time.

In season 1, Frenchie was an inventor, a tinkerer, an engineer. After the first few episodes, this was dropped entirely. Frenchie then just becomes "a guy", he has no purpose. Another plot hole is that Soldier Boy was knocked unconcious with anesthetik (sleeping gas). So why not just do that and then "Do the Translucent"?
Well, technically, he still does something... Sometimes. But this is difficult to notice, given that SO MUCH ATTENTION has begun to be paid to his personal life. These adventures of Frenchie and Kimiko remind me of Squadmate Side Quests from Mass Effect... Only repeated many times in a series that is already bloated.
No offense but Frenchie had his own subplot in season 4 with confecing to killing his boyfriends family, dealing with his guilt through drug addiction and eventually by confessing to the police, and at the end he comes in clutch by recreating the supe-killing virus from Kimiko’s leg. That is a lot of shit for just some guy, sure you can argue that his story doesn’t entirely surround him doing engineer/lab shit, but I think it just helps make the character seem more rounded instead of just a 2-dimensional “tech guy”. The knockout gas thing idk, there ain’t no gas strong enough to knock out Homelander. Much less that he’d let you do it or some other shit

I don't argue, maybe you personally felt something. But not all viewers. It seems to me that anyone who has watched more than a few series will not be impressed by what they see. Again, this is my opinion, I do not claim the absolute truth.
That would actually be funny and interesting, a person of average intelligence who bullshits her way through the plot while pretending to be "the smartest person", hell you could even then reveal she has luck based powers or something to explain why her plans go through.

Minor fun fact I wanna throw out, Garth ennis creator of the boys, really hates Captain America. The reason for this I because apparently he thinks Captain America is disrespectful to actual vets, mind you that the character of captain America a was created by 2 actual veterans and Garth Ennis has never served a day in his life in the army. Side note: I don't hate Ennis and I do like his Punisher stuff, however a lot of the guy's writing can come off as being needlessly edgy for the sake of being edgy.

Not just that, but The Shapeshifter could steal all of Annie's memories and mannerisms as well, and Hughie only found out because _she was being too nice to him_ to be the real Annie. Not only that, but they revealed in her rant to Annie that Shapeshifter could've taken out Hughie any time she wanted after she got the evidence deleted from his computer, but _genuinely_ liked Hughie and was disgusted at how poorly Annie treated him and The Boys and how awful of person Annie was to everyone, including Firecracker. But the writers ignore all this build-up for Annie to grow as a character and reform from her past selfishness to unironically double-down in it at the end by victim blaming Hughie for SA after it only happened to him a week ago and after he just lost his father. Any self-respecting man would have dumped Annie right then and there.

And he did assault his Alfred and his nieces chinchilla. But again the comic made it very clear that he was doing these things against his will and trying to get help for it but was too dangerous to treat. (He also apparently raped a scalding hot coffee cup to avoid raping a cat) The comics are cringe bullshit too but the story was somehow more interesting than this.

The Boys S4E6 is in contention for the worst piece of media I've have ever had the torturous displeasure to witness. I rarely drop a series I'm already invested in even if it gets terrible by the end, but that episode genuinely made me want to just never open Amazon Prime ever again.

I'm not religious, pro-choice but still right-wing in all other aspects. The Boys S4 is a joke, i mean show got political with S2 but the it actually felt like a satire until S4. It's a middle finger to most of us who liked first three seasons.
One thing I found so annoying about the discourse surrounding this season was the whole, “It was making fun of the right the whole time” argument. The problem I have with this argument is that even if that was the case, there is a way you can do political satire that doesn’t come across as shallow, bad faith, or just a giant straw man, which the political commentary in this season is 100% guilty of.

The thing is, if Sister Sage is the smartest person alive, she is de facto the smartest woman alive, so she isn’t correcting people, she is just being a bitch.

My biggest complaint is that they won't let Hughie's character progress. He's the main character in the show, and he's either doing nothing or doing the same arcs over and over. Went back and watched season 1, and he actually was useful to the team! He was the butt of the joke then as well, but he still did stuff.
Season 3 didn’t do him much justice he saw nueman pop somebodies head he had the guts to stand up to homelander and he’s the bad guy for wanting to protect people he cared about and I get it insecurity and what not starlight was kinda a hypocrite in season 3
Well, to be fair, characters don't have to develop and grow. But this logic also works in the opposite, so it’s very strange that a character who has survived so much always returns to square one. Again, I don't want the characters to praise Huey or to have him succeed at everything. But when characters in a series with continuity always talk like strangers in an elevator, it's annoying. Even more annoying is that Huey is forbidden to be emotional. He cannot be jealous, selfish, upset or anything. He should always be a comfortable yes-man -Huey, I had an abortion. -Okay Annie -Huey, your father needs to be euthanized and there are no other options. -Okay, Kimiko and Butcher It's simply not believable. Leftist authors simply want the main characters to always agree or be neutral about what the party says. Again - I'm not saying that Huey would be definitely against it, but they show that he is definitely for it.

They are trying to sell us that her slacktivism matters and that she is now “Annie” and so on... But this has little effect, because she does little like Annie. She is almost always provoked into action, but she is rarely the initiator and is a very passive character. Beef with Homelander from last season was completely forgotten. Marvin's family was brought back only to be rid of them again. Considering that the recast is so noticeable, I'm surprised why they kept MM in the first place, considering he doesn't contribute much to the show. They could have retired him, given that he is the most normal of the team. Same goes to Huey. They added his mother and made her a Vought employee to kind of shoehorn her in, but she wasn't actually needed for the plot. Her only purpose is to inject Serum V into Huey's father, so as not to make it his action and responsible for the negative consequences of it. Simply put, the authors took away the character’s choice so that someone would choose for him and he would not commit an action that the Democrats would not approve of, because they would only approve of euthanasia.
Kinda weird the show that's supposed to be all progressive and be a "serious" take on the hero genre and the repurcussions and consequences of such that is oh so mighty and against the chuds ends up VERY REGULARLY using rape as a punchline. I guess it's (D)different.

The problem with writing "smartest person in the room" characters is they are only as smart as the writers are. Since most of the time, writers are not that smart, the "smart character" basically becomes IQ Jesus who can solve everything instantly because its all just so elementary to IQ Jesus.
As for me, the main problem of this season and leftist is the lack of understanding that the characters will act selfishly and emotionally, and not as the party says. Huey, although a soft character, would hardly CHEER for his girlfriend’s abortion for the sake of her career of slacktivist. But the authors feel it is their duty to show loyalty to the establishment because of abolition of Roe v. Wade. Let alone, Butcher and Kimiko, having lost their parents, would hardly have talked so easily about the murder of Huey’s father. The US just wants to support Canada and its euthanasia law. I would understand if The Boys were an organization under the Democrats, but no, they are kinda outlaws, so it is not clear why they have the conviction of party workers. Logically, when Frenchie and Kimiko came to a meeting of conspiracy theorists, they were supposed to give food for new theories, and not shout “this is not true.” So everything feels very safe, very unconvincing. Supporting BLM even when they were exposed as fraud shows that this show is not "making fun of both sides", but simply showing one.

But as it turned out, it is cynical only about other people’s opinions and beliefs... Like the vast majority in the world, it is cynical about what it does not believe in. It is easy to be an atheist towards someone else's religion, but not your own.

Here is the biggest plot hole in the entire show for me: Butcher's cancer. So the V gave him cancer, weird. It's never done that to anyone else, ever. Last season Hughie took almost as much as Butcher, so what about him? It also gave him a little tumor monster that is shown to be present in the rabbit they find at the farm. The rabbit has two scenes where it is clearly shown to have the same disease Butcher has, but the problem is the rabbit was subjected to the virus that kills all supes. Not to V. Also, his V-tumor/cancer is now sentient and talks to him, claiming to have power over letting the cancer kill him or not and when Butcher can access the powers. That's an empty threat though, because in the scene where Butcher is in the religious nut's trailer and about to die, his V-tumor saves him. It's self preservation, which completely flies in the face of the threat about just "letting Butcher die." Like What?

The worst part about The Boys and season 4 especially is that the political messages seem to be speaking to no one. If you already agree with the show's politics, you aren't given any material to test your boundaries and help you grow as a person. In season 1, Frenchie was an inventor, a tinkerer, an engineer. After the first few episodes, this was dropped entirely. Frenchie then just becomes "a guy", he has no purpose.
Another plot hole is that Soldier Boy was knocked unconcious with anesthetik (sleeping gas). So why not just do that and then "Do the Translucent"?
Well, technically, he still does something... Sometimes. But this is difficult to notice, given that SO MUCH ATTENTION has begun to be paid to his personal life. These adventures of Frenchie and Kimiko remind me of Squadmate Side Quests from Mass Effect... Only repeated many times in a series that is already bloated.

No offense but Frenchie had his own subplot in season 4 with confecing to killing his boyfriends family, dealing with his guilt through drug addiction and eventually by confessing to the police, and at the end he comes in clutch by recreating the supe-killing virus from Kimiko’s leg. That is a lot of shit for just some guy, sure you can argue that his story doesn’t entirely surround him doing engineer/lab shit, but I think it just helps make the character seem more rounded instead of just a 2-dimensional “tech guy”.

Not just that, but The Shapeshifter could steal all of Annie's memories and mannerisms as well, and Hughie only found out because _she was being too nice to him_ to be the real Annie. Not only that, but they revealed in her rant to Annie that Shapeshifter could've taken out Hughie any time she wanted after she got the evidence deleted from his computer, but _genuinely_ liked Hughie and was disgusted at how poorly Annie treated him and The Boys and how awful of person Annie was to everyone, including Firecracker.
But the writers ignore all this build-up for Annie to grow as a character and reform from her past selfishness to unironically double-down in it at the end by victim blaming Hughie for SA after it only happened to him a week ago and after he just lost his father. Any self-respecting man would have dumped Annie right then and there.

My biggest complaint is that they won't let Hughie's character progress. He's the main character in the show, and he's either doing nothing or doing the same arcs over and over. Went back and watched season 1, and he actually was useful to the team! He was the butt of the joke then as well, but he still did stuff.
Season 3 didn’t do him much justice he saw nueman pop somebodies head he had the guts to stand up to homelander and he’s the bad guy for wanting to protect people he cared about and I get it insecurity and what not starlight was kinda a hypocrite in season 3

Well, to be fair, characters don't have to develop and grow. But this logic also works in the opposite, so it’s very strange that a character who has survived so much always returns to square one. Again, I don't want the characters to praise Huey or to have him succeed at everything. But when characters in a series with continuity always talk like strangers in an elevator, it's annoying. Even more annoying is that Huey is forbidden to be emotional. He cannot be jealous, selfish, upset or anything. He should always be a comfortable yes-man

They are trying to sell us that her slacktivism matters and that she is now “Annie” and so on... But this has little effect, because she does little like Annie. She is almost always provoked into action, but she is rarely the initiator and is a very passive character. Beef with Homelander from last season was completely forgotten.
Marvin's family was brought back only to be rid of them again. Considering that the recast is so noticeable, I'm surprised why they kept MM in the first place, considering he doesn't contribute much to the show. They could have retired him, given that he is the most normal of the team.
Same goes to Huey. They added his mother and made her a Vought employee to kind of shoehorn her in, but she wasn't actually needed for the plot. Her only purpose is to inject Serum V into Huey's father, so as not to make it his action and responsible for the negative consequences of it. Simply put, the authors took away the character’s choice so that someone would choose for him and he would not commit an action that the Democrats would not approve of, because they would only approve of euthanasia.
Kinda weird the show that's supposed to be all progressive and be a "serious" take on the hero genre and the repurcussions and consequences of such that is oh so mighty and against the chuds ends up VERY REGULARLY using rape as a punchline.

As for me, the main problem of this season and leftist is the lack of understanding that the characters will act selfishly and emotionally, and not as the party says. Huey, although a soft character, would hardly CHEER for his girlfriend’s abortion for the sake of her career of slacktivist. But the authors feel it is their duty to show loyalty to the establishment because of abolition of Roe v. Wade. Let alone, Butcher and Kimiko, having lost their parents, would hardly have talked so easily about the murder of Huey’s father. The US just wants to support Canada and its euthanasia law.
I would understand if The Boys were an organization under the Democrats, but no, they are kinda outlaws, so it is not clear why they have the conviction of party workers. Logically, when Frenchie and Kimiko came to a meeting of conspiracy theorists, they were supposed to give food for new theories, and not shout “this is not true.” So everything feels very safe, very unconvincing. Supporting BLM even when they were exposed as fraud shows that this show is not "making fun of both sides", but simply showing one.

You're missing the point. What I'm saying is that the main (supposedly positive) characters cannot express disagreement or negativity regarding those things that are supported by the Democratic Party, so where the characters must show personal emotions, selfishness or express their opinions, they speak the opinion of the authors or the party. It feels very fake when characters are either passionately supportive of something or silently neutral.
When Frenchie found himself at a gathering of conspiracy theorists, he said he believed the moon landing was fake. This is the most harmless theory, which even normies sometimes adhere to. Having worked for the government, Frenchie would have said something like "It's just a tip of the iceberg" or something. This would be in character of cynical man or cynical show. But as it turned out, it is cynical only about other people’s opinions and beliefs... Like the vast majority in the world, it is cynical about what it does not believe in. It is easy to be an atheist towards someone else's religion, but not your own.

Here is the biggest plot hole in the entire show for me: Butcher's cancer.
So the V gave him cancer, weird. It's never done that to anyone else, ever. Last season Hughie took almost as much as Butcher, so what about him? It also gave him a little tumor monster that is shown to be present in the rabbit they find at the farm. The rabbit has two scenes where it is clearly shown to have the same disease Butcher has, but the problem is the rabbit was subjected to the virus that kills all supes. Not to V.
Also, his V-tumor/cancer is now sentient and talks to him, claiming to have power over letting the cancer kill him or not and when Butcher can access the powers. That's an empty threat though, because in the scene where Butcher is in the religious nut's trailer and about to die, his V-tumor saves him. It's self preservation, which completely flies in the face of the threat about just "letting Butcher die."

The worst part about The Boys and season 4 especially is that the political messages seem to be speaking to no one. If you already agree with the show's politics, you aren't given any material to test your boundaries and help you grow as a person. If you disagree with the show's politics, you're essentially just being told to go fuck yourself instead of there being an honest attempt to persuade you to think differently. The message literally serves no purpose.

The example you gave of the random Transformers reference is perfect, since this tactic tends to work best with things that are too old to be part of the current conversation, or were never super popular to begin with, since there won't be any knowledgeable fans to call bullshit. Like just recently, I saw a vid in my recommended titled "The Strange Conservatism of Forrest Gump"--an easy target; FG is popular, but no one is exactly talking about it now, so if you want to step in and 'problematize' it, you can.
Annie is their self insert. Her character arc this season was her learning she isn't the perfect moral princess she pretends to be, which she immediately unlearns after killing the shapeshifter and blames Hughie for being SA'd, then "forgiving him" by telling him to get tested.
