Personally, Gang Bang is telling you a story, it's a very dark song and I love that she's experiment with sounds and rhythm, this song needed a video!! And yes, this is an album that is yelling 2012! Party! And I don't see it wrong in that way, not all has to be timeless. Is great when a song transport you to an period of your life, it's happens to me with Girl Gone Wild, I danced it with all my heart, following the coreo, my God! If you don't listen to it at that time.. you'll never feel it like it was in that year.
Masterpiece is also my most favorite song in this album. It is about bittersweet love and hardships felt being in a relationship. It won the Best Original Song category at the 69th Golden Globe Awards.

Concert tour was the heights grossing tour. The concert was incredible!! Give me all your luvin was made for her super bowl performance.

As far as the number of shows per tour from the top 10 tours, Sticky is 2nd with 85 shows behind The Rolling Stone No Filter Tour with 58 shows. The Stones are a group and therefore as a single performer her solo gross is the highest based on the number of shows performed during that tour. Every other tour in the top 10 had well over 100 shows with Roger Waters and Ed Sheehan tours having over 200 shows. In terms of all concert tours, she is the highest grossing female performer and ranks 5th among all artists/groups. All 4 ranking ahead of her performed double or more the total number of shows compared to the total number of shows by Madonna - some would argue that based on the total number of shows, she is the highest grossing artist. Madonna isn't even in the top 15 of total tickets sold so to rank the 5th highest grossing performer among all artists/groups, it's easy to see her accomplishment.

Keeping it real, Taylor. Bravo! As a Madonna fan since 1984, I think this is the era when she was chasing trends as opposed to marching to the beat of her own drum. The concert tour for this album was fantastic though, check it out.
@@nathanieljohnson5908 I would not call Bedtime Stories trend chasing. Because so many different sounds were huge at the time. Ace Of Base had the biggest album of the year, Europop and Eurodance were huge not just in Europe. Grunge and Rock was still big as well. R&B too but Bedtime Stories seemed more like a natural continuation of what she did on Erotica just a bit softer. There's songs like Sanctuary, Bedtime Story etc. that sounded like nothing on the radio at the time as well.
“Masterpiece” is one of my most favorite Madonna songs ever 🥹 But I wasn’t a big fan of this album but, when I purchased the “MDNA Tour” DVD, it blew my mind 🫣 the set list was amazing, the stage performance was outstanding, the dancers were very energetic and great… like there is so much to love about that tour ❤️❤️❤️ I remember I used to watch it over and over again 🤣
thank god MDNA is behind you, it's her low point creatively and personally, my least fave M record ever. but yeah, with the exception of a couple good tracks, it's a no for me too. Now the MDNA Tour was a lot of fun! I saw it from the floor at Staples Center. Amazing setlist and somehow even she even turned Gang Bang into a theatrical number that was exciting to watch. The Papa Don't Preach/Hung Up medley was very cool too. The stage itself was unbelievable. Def the most complicated stage in a Madonna show ever.
Her Lowest Point creative and Musically Talking speaking Are Nowadays, after confessions She started droping Only Crap Is been a long Time since she has done good music
Damn, it’s the first Madonna reaction I get to see premiering, I wasn’t expecting this reaction lol, specially with Gang Bang. I’m a Sinner and Love Spent are pretty decent. Masterpiece is one of the best tracks.
When you listen to Madame X please listen to the super deluxe version not just the deluxe version. Contains the song called ciao bella which in my opinion is one of her best songs and should have been included on the album it's an amazing fuze of dance and African music
Love Spent is one of my absolute favorite Madonna songs. I think Masterpiece, Falling Free, I’m Addicted, Beautiful Killer, I Fucked Up, Best Friend, Gang Bang are some of my favorites too.
In order to fully appreciate this songs you should watch the MDNA Tour. It redeems and elevates several songs from the album. And at the same time it gave us incredible visuals.
Maybe after the album deep dive is over Taylor can do a video with things he missed that fans can vote to include like demos, bonus tracks, unreleased music, live performances, interviews, etc? I feel that’s a huge part of diving into Madonnas legacy as well, as you’ve missed a LOT of things. A lot of GOOD things.
Been a fan since her first album (I was 13) and have listened to them all countless times over and over. Except this one. I maybe listened to it a couple times and just said "no, thanks, catch you next time, girl" It's pretty tragic when the best thing you can say about a track is that it doesn't suck as bad as the others. Masterpiece, however, is a true gem. But should be noted it had already appeared the year before on the soundtrack for W.E., a film Madonna wrote, produced and directed telling the story of the Duke and Duchess of Windsor (which I personally adored as I'd been enamored with the Windsors for years) You should def check out her Super Bowl halftime show which coincided with the release of MDNA. She gives us the classic hits and puts on a hell of a show in, like, 12 minutes.
The true version of “Love Spent”, in my opinion, will always be the acoustic iTunes exclusive- released with the album pre-order on SuperBowl weekend, when she performed at Half-Time. The talent & emotion on that track make it one of my favorite Madonna songs of all time. You should do another video, just on that one song- which was also a top live performance on The MDNA Tour. “Gang Bang” was a fan-favorite as soon as the album was released. Never before had Madonna made such a horror-movie type of song. Another epic live rendition in the concert . . . There was hope that Tarantino would direct a music video for it. I never listen to this album in order; I rearrange every one, actually. “Masterpiece” won a 2012 Golden Globe for Best Original Song, from W./E. I thought her vocals were a slight return to the Evita era. “Falling Free” was a song Madonna said she wished would’ve been a single. I always pictured her going on The Voice to sing it . . . “Superstar” was used for a Bravo commercial, if I’m not mistaken. The music video for “Girl Gone Wild” was every die-hardcore Madonna fanatic’s return to the Erotica era! They played it leading up to a divas’ match @WrestleMania, and it was used for Madonna’s Truth Or Dare fragrance tv ad, as well. “Turn Up The Radio” could’ve been utilized much better as a retirement-teaser, especially after an interview that aired with Harry Smith- when he asked her what she has left to prove, like others that want her to go away & “age gracefully”. MIA does another collaboration on Disc 2, called “B-Day Song”. This is like a silly song for kids . . . “Best Friend” is my favorite from the Deluxe bonuses- although the 2nd half of “I F*¢ked Up” was good, too. Definitely give the Acoustic Love $pent a listen!
Like other people have brought up and she had just left her long-term record label and I had made a big career change I feel like this album was very safe businesswise and we all know Madonna is a businesswoman first. She wanted to come out with her new label her new imprint in big success and I feel like this album was definitely have the time and was an easy way for her to get a number one
I disagree with you Kyle. She is a very smart business woman for sure. The thing that has had her transcend years and years, is just that simple thing that made her a megastar, the music. This album was a hit and miss but she nailed it at the end.
This was imo the first album that Madonna just did an album with not a lot of input with hard Candy. Madonna had so much going on with directing a movie, super bowl performance (you need to watch) and the MDNA tour. This album was an afterthought. Rebel Heart is so much better and a great album and MADAME X is like something that you will never hear and not a mainstream album. The MDNA album only sold 2 million albums worldwide and give me all your loving reached no.10 on the billboard chart giving Madonna her 38th top 10 hit. I agree with your reaction. I think you will love Rebel Heart especially the deluxe version and Madame X is so experimental that it sound nothing like what any artist has ever done
Madonna's albums are never directly comparable to each other...rather, each one is a diamond (or whatever you personally consider to be particularly valuable)
28:10... The first time I heard "I'M A SINNER" I thought to myself that MADONNA should do a GENRE'S TOUR... where she would do SONGS from HER CATALOG that SOUND like they are come from the 50's... 60's... 70's... 80's and so on * For the 60's she could do 1. I'M A SINNER 2. BEAUTIFUL STRANGER 3. AMAZING 4. TRUE BLUE **I HOPE THAT MAKES SENSE 🎉
The Orbit tracks are the superior tracks on this album, let's not forget that half of this record leaked months before, around November 2011 and I think that also made her rush and get more tracks ready for the 2012 Q1 release
My fav Madonna album. Is it her best? Hell no, I might even say it's her worst. What saved it was the MDNA tour... This album was meant to be performed live and it truly delivered.
I think that MDNA is definitely a product of its time and much of it is geared towards working well in a live setting at the sacrifice of the kind of depth she normally puts into her music, it's taken a long time for most of the songs to grow on me but overall I think it's not a bad album, it's just not really up to the same standard of most of her music especially considering Confessions On A Dance Floor was just two albums ago (she worked with William Orbit on half the songs including I'm a Sinner which is why it sounded along the lines of other songs they did together like Ray Of Light, Beautiful Stranger and Amazing)
So Masterpiece is the one stand out true Madonna song on the album. Everyone I play it to love it, people of all ages too. She just tries too hard to be popular, by having other artists collaborating with her, but by this time in her career she should’ve carried on writing fantastic, classic pop songs which is what she was known for. I’ve followed her since the very beginning and it’s clear to see by your reaction that these last couple of albums are definitely no Like a Prayer or True Blue!!
Should have been first single. Should have been released November 2021 with the W.E. movie and have a video for it. It even charted without being an official video.
I liked MDNA, truly it had some bops, but they did sound heavily outdated, like alot of the songs could have been put on Teenage Dream or a Kesha Album 2-3 years earlier than when Madonna released them. I personally feel like if MDNA was released around the same time as Teenage Dream or somewhere around 2010, it might have been more successful.
I also agree that "MDNA" album is such a mess, but if you'll listen the "Rebel Heart" album, the next one at Madonna deep dive studio discography, please listen the Deluxe Version with 18 tracks, I'm sure you're going to have a better time when u listen to it, for sure ;)
I like all Madonna albums including this one but MDNA is bar far my least favorite album in her career. The album cover art is awesome though. Masterpiece is my favorite song here but it doesn't even belong to this album. It's from her movie. Beautiful Killer, Gang Bang and Love Spent are great songs. Girl Gone Wild is good but the rest......Thanks God she had a phenomenal Super Bowl performance and the MDNA Tour during that era
I don’t think you should apologize for your reaction to this album lol! It was awhile between HC & MDNA and expectations were HIGH!! Additionally, it was stupidly marketed as Madonna’s reunion with William Orbit, tho he only did a few songs. Fans rightfully expected Ray of Light 2. M was stretched thin due to her also making the movie W/E. I now enjoy the album for the trashy EDM album it is. The tour this era goes OFF! Last thing - post Confessions, fans have been divided about her album quality. Personally, I love Rebel Heart (maybe a top 5 for me) & Madame X. As others have said, stick to the deluxe versions. She leaves some major gems off the standard versions going forward - including the title track on Rebel Heart✌️
Hi Taylor! Don't know if you read all the comments in here but just wanna say that I'm a huge fan of you and your work here on UA-cam, been following you for a very long time now, you are the only person I enjoy watching reaction videos, and with them you've made my days. Thank you for being this awesome guy! About MDNA I really liked the album at the time and it was great, nowadays I can't listen to anything besides 'Love Spent', 'Masterpiece' and 'Falling Free' it's really dated unfortunately...
This needed to be the album (there are deluxe tracks you’ve not heard that are fantastic). My MDNA track list would have been: 1. Intro (Act of Contrition) 2. Girl Gone Wild (using the remix dance break from the tour version) 3. Gang Bang 4. Beautiful Killer (lead single) 5. Love Spent 6. Best Friend (using the heavier crunchy production seen on your) 7. I’m A Sinner (using the Kalican trio outro from tour) 8. I ****ed Up 9. I’m Addicted 10. Masterpiece 11. Falling Free
I think the last three songs save it! Love Spent, Masterpiece and Falling Free. The last one might even be on my top ten Madonna tracks of all time!! ♥️
Love your content dude !!! Mdna is one of favorite albums from M, i really love this album it’s so 2010 and love that vibes from that decade so I know it’s a very repetitive album and almost every single tracks it’s like hello by Martin solveig , but if u love comercial edm this album is for u and the live versions are awesome cause the MDNA tour was so epic ❤❤❤❤❤❤:v by the way it’s a perfect album for workout or cleaning your bedroom .🎉❤❤❤❤❤❤ Hope with more time more people got into MDNA ❤❤❤❤honestly this album deserves more love 💗
Turn Up the Radio was very much of its time. It's very much a Martin Solveig production and, given that I was a fan of his work with Dragonette from the same time, this really resonated with me. I also appreciate that, lyrically, this sounds like 80s Madonna in her early days...Into the Groove type dancefloor anthem. I like that. Went to the MDNA tour, the songs worked well and I'm A Sinner was my favorite there.
Gang Bang is my favorite track off the album. Find the video. Masterpiece is a masterpiece. Girls Gone Wild has a great remix. Agreed, it's a very derivative Madonna album, but if you were there and lived through it, with her Super Bowl appearance, it was a very big year for Madonna. I even bought the calendar related to this album. It seems to be her one album where she is chasing the trend instead of creating it, and a lot of the songs sound like repeats of her earlier works. The year of the DJ producer.
People really hate this album and Hard Candy for some reason, I never understand the hate. MDNA has some corny tracks (Give Me All Your Luvin and Superstar I’m lookin at y’all) but there’s some very classic sounding Madonna tracks. I Don’t Give A has flavors of American Life, I’m A Sinner and Falling Free feel like 2010s Ray of Light tracks, Gang Bang has that gritty feeling a lot of Erotica had, Love Spent SCREAMS Music era, I’m Addicted could be a Confessions track with ease, and Masterpiece feels like a b-side to Hard Candy’s Devil Wouldn’t Recognize You. I think some production elements definitely date the album but it feels classic Madonna to me.
Falling Free and Masterpiece are my favorites too, but I also LOVE the first three tracks. I loved that EDM era. All the DJs of that time you mentioned I love still. As for the Deluxe, the biggest missed opportunity is not including Beautiful Killer on the main album. It should have been a single! In fact, there have been a few mistakes in choosing mixes of songs to go on this album. For instance, both give me all your Lovin, and turn up the radio, have superior remixes that would feel more at home on the album. As for the middle of the album - I pretty much skip tracks four through nine. In my iTunes, I have my own sequence of songs using a couple remixes. It makes for a solid 10 tracks. But as it stands, a bit of a messy album.
WHAT ARE YALL TALKING ABOUT ?????? This album is awesome. It's got fun up beat club songs & also really deep heartfelt songs too. Like what is the issue y'all have with this album ???¿ I genuinely don't understand
No it’s horrible. I’m a big Madonna fan and this album is almost impossible to listen to. I like Girl gone wild, I’m addicted and Masterpiece. But the rest is really horrendous.

Keeping it real, Taylor. Bravo! As a Madonna fan since 1984, I think this is the era when she was chasing trends as opposed to marching to the beat of her own drum. The concert tour for this album was fantastic though, check it out.
Bedtime Stories and Hard Candy were also trend chasing albums
@@nathanieljohnson5908 I would not call Bedtime Stories trend chasing. Because so many different sounds were huge at the time. Ace Of Base had the biggest album of the year, Europop and Eurodance were huge not just in Europe. Grunge and Rock was still big as well. R&B too but Bedtime Stories seemed more like a natural continuation of what she did on Erotica just a bit softer. There's songs like Sanctuary, Bedtime Story etc. that sounded like nothing on the radio at the time as well.
Masterpiece won best original song at the Golden Globe awards for the film W.E.
Oh PLEASE.
Her Lowest Point creative and Musically Talking speaking Are Nowadays, after confessions She started droping Only Crap
Is been a long Time since she has done good music
@@devonripley7862 YAWN. She couldn't make bad music if she tried. You're just stuck in the 90's. Also Rebel Heart and Madame X were fantastic albums.
@@devonripley7862 I completely agree unfortunately
I felt that with Hard Candy
And at the same time it gave us incredible visuals.
the best songs on MDNA. love spent , falling free and masterpiece.
This album mix perfectly with THE MDNA TOUR.
I didn't think is the worst album but is something different Madonna is giving us! I love MDNA too!
I maybe listened to it a couple times and just said "no, thanks, catch you next time, girl"
It's pretty tragic when the best thing you can say about a track is that it doesn't suck as bad as the others.
Masterpiece, however, is a true gem. But should be noted it had already appeared the year before on the soundtrack for W.E., a film Madonna wrote, produced and directed telling the story of the Duke and Duchess of Windsor (which I personally adored as I'd been enamored with the Windsors for years)
You should def check out her Super Bowl halftime show which coincided with the release of MDNA. She gives us the classic hits and puts on a hell of a show in, like, 12 minutes.
Masterpiece won the golden globe for best song from the movie she directed W.E.
Uhhhhh the acoustic was not an iTunes exclusive
At first, it’s how it was advertised.
Taylor, no problem. I feel the same about this album.
Think it says a lot that the songs you liked were the ones produced by William Orbit. She should have done the entire album with him
The last few songs on this album are some of modern Madonna's best. MDNA Tour was epic!
Masterpiece won a gloden globe award i think
Masterpiece IT’S AMAZING
28:10... The first time I heard "I'M A SINNER" I thought to myself that MADONNA should do a GENRE'S TOUR... where she would do SONGS from HER CATALOG that SOUND like they are come from the 50's... 60's... 70's... 80's and so on
* For the 60's she could do
1. I'M A SINNER
2. BEAUTIFUL STRANGER
3. AMAZING
4. TRUE BLUE
**I HOPE THAT MAKES SENSE 🎉
And for COUNTRY
DEVIL PRAY
LOVE SPENT
DON’T TELL ME
JOAN OF ARC
INTERVENTION
I personally hear a lot of Ray of light era and Beautiful Stranger vibes in the second half of the album!
Hang tight! The next album “Rebel Heart” is a complete 180… her best album of the 2010s. Such a masterpiece.
180*
I’m really happy you enjoyed I’m Addicted because it’s the best song in this album 😂
I can't wait for your reaction to Rebel Heart. Its my favorite album of her
Falling free is a masterpiece! But wait until you watch the tour! And the remix of love spent; is amazing!
After watching Girl Gone Wild video, you will appreciate the song more.
I love MDNA🔥👍🏻
Lets dance.
I respect your opinion
This is one of my favorites albums of her, I love every song❤
I completely agree with you about the best songs. "I'm Addicted" is my favorite, though....
Taylor looking good as always 🎉
Hot AF.
What’s interesting is that this album spoke to a lot of what she was going through at the time with her divorce from Guy Ritchie.
The live performance for Gang Bang and I don't give a are fire!!! Love Spent and Masterpiece are my favorite songs on the album.
Yet they’re not horrid either. They’re not even bad. They’re only “not her best” by Madonna standards.
Should have been first single. Should have been released November 2021 with the W.E. movie and have a video for it. It even charted without being an official video.
@@itsalexney i prefer MDNA to Like a Prayer
Masterpiece won Madonna a golden globe for best original song for a motion picture for a movie Madonna directed W.E
this era had an AMAZING TOUR!!!!!
An exceptionally good and fair review. Masterpiece and falling free are the best tracks. You definitely don't need a trip to your therapist.
MDNA tour was pretty good though, helped a lot the album
Expecting the reaction on the deluxe tracks! There are some gems…
Don’t get down, rebel heart will pull u out of the hell fire , I PROMISE👍👊zane
I had exactly the same reaction in 2012, haven't really looked at it since.
Girl gove wild is absolutely iconic
I agree with everything you said about this album. Great hairdo by the way 😀
I also agree that "MDNA" album is such a mess, but if you'll listen the "Rebel Heart" album, the next one at Madonna deep dive studio discography, please listen the Deluxe Version with 18 tracks, I'm sure you're going to have a better time when u listen to it, for sure ;)
Finally someone loves falling free! ❤
It’s a gorgeous song! ✌🏻🙂✌🏻
She made good videos for this album ❤
The video for girl gone wild is one of her best
I like all Madonna albums including this one but MDNA is bar far my least favorite album in her career. The album cover art is awesome though. Masterpiece is my favorite song here but it doesn't even belong to this album. It's from her movie. Beautiful Killer, Gang Bang and Love Spent are great songs. Girl Gone Wild is good but the rest......Thanks God she had a phenomenal Super Bowl performance and the MDNA Tour during that era
Falling free sounds like it could be on Ray of Light. It's great
I don’t think you should apologize for your reaction to this album lol!
The Avicii demo of Rebel Heart remains a solid gold divine banger 🙌
@Jay Best Night is great too. Very Erotica-esque
My MDNA track list would have been:
1. Intro (Act of Contrition)
2. Girl Gone Wild (using the remix dance break from the tour version)
3. Gang Bang
4. Beautiful Killer (lead single)
5. Love Spent
6. Best Friend (using the heavier crunchy production seen on your)
7. I’m A Sinner (using the Kalican trio outro from tour)
8. I ****ed Up
9. I’m Addicted
10. Masterpiece
11. Falling Free
Really surprised you didn’t like Love Spent, and you didn’t even recognise the banjo! There’s nothing generic about Love Spent at all.
Yup, it's a banjo not a guitar.
Yes. I was also surprised he didn't like Love Spent.
This was the general reaction to this album at the time and ever since
This is one of my favorite M albums … we all have different taste different opinions 👌🏻
I think the last three songs save it! Love Spent, Masterpiece and Falling Free. The last one might even be on my top ten Madonna tracks of all time!! ♥️
Love your content dude !!! Mdna is one of favorite albums from M, i really love this album it’s so 2010 and love that vibes from that decade so I know it’s a very repetitive album and almost every single tracks it’s like hello by Martin solveig , but if u love comercial edm this album is for u and the live versions are awesome cause the MDNA tour was so epic ❤❤❤❤❤❤:v by the way it’s a perfect album for workout or cleaning your bedroom .🎉❤❤❤❤❤❤
Hope with more time more people got into MDNA ❤❤❤❤honestly this album deserves more love 💗
Hang on there! Rebel Heart is her BEST in the 2010s.
Loved this album!
I think you should react to her Superbowl halftime set, it was at this time, pretty cool one in some aspects
Omg, please listen to the deluxe versions of Rebel Heart and Madame X!! Otherwise you’ll be missing so much
He needs to hear the Súper Deluxe one, the disc 2 edition. I’m afraid he’ll listen to the regular deluxe (grey cover)
I love MDNA. Such a banger of an album. But then again I live edm
Saludos desde Colombia!
Es fascinante lo acertado que eres con tus opiniones y cometarios.
Una abrazo gigantesco amigo
Don't worry, we all knew this was gonna happen lmao she started being a trendsetter and started to be a trend-follower in this era
"Every record sounds the same, you gotta step into my world". 😂
Not my favorite album by M, but there were some cool moments; *Gang Bang, I’m Addicted, Love Spent* in particular 🔥🎧
Love Spent is a favorite but I wish the vocals were less processed. The live version is gorgeous.
