It’s hard being a Jets fan. But, I think most of our problems lie on Gase. Once Gase is gone the rebuild can truly begin with Joe Douglas at the helm, who had a solid draft. Getting a future all pro in Becton, Mims is a solid reciever, Perine is a decent running back, and Braden Mann has been one of the best punters in football. Corner Bryce Hall has shown promise as well. I trust Douglas.
I know it's quite different, but as a fan of fantasy football, I just can't wait for Gase to trade his players each offseason. Everytime he does, I can get a solid player at a discount. And everyone is like "oh wtf I thought this guy sucked". No. It's Gase. Everytime they leave one of his team, they're suddenly way better. With Gase gone, I'd expect Darnold, Mims and Perine to go nuclear next season. (Darnold maybe not with the Jets though.
True, I really like the rookie class and hopefully Ashtyn Davis can include himself on that list too since he was a steal at safety. But yea, hopefully, Joe Douglas comes through and our new coach can produce something great on the football field. Take Flight!
This is a great perspective, there’s a reason why certain teams (like Jacksonville) pick early in the draft year in and year out yet still fail most of the time. Coaching is priority number one.
@@DoctorDiddler there’s plenty of great candidates out to fill the role for the jets, jags and so on. But we’ll see how front offices pick during the off-season
I personally like Darnold. I think that he has only a little less talent than Lawrence and is still younger than Joe Burrow. With the right coaching staff he could be a star.
Hey Brett, been a fan of yours for a while now. Just want to say that I love how you keep looking for ways to improve your content. Keep up the great work man!
Here after a phenomenal organization changing Jets offseason. You were right, just not exactly, but the message correct. Look at how much has changed since this video. Ownership changed the structure so the HC reports to the GM. The GM looks like a savior. The offensive line has another 1st rounder invested. We have a legit elite Edge!A very solid WR room. Gase is gone, Salehs here! Entire coaching team looks great. New scheme is an actually bonafied scheme. We could go on and on. Jets will be a tough out 2021. After another offseason with much money and draft picks, if Wilson looks good, 2022 jets could finally have this thing turned around. I appreciate you saw it coming. Started with Joe Douglas.
As a Jets fan, thank you for this Brett. It's so refreshing to see a take thats not just "LOL JETS BAD SO FUNNY", which is all you're seeing on most media outlets. Keep doing what you're doing, it's some of the best work I've ever seen 👍🏼
I love the way you start the video off with an alcohol montage, and follow it up with probably the most sober take on the Jets' prospect out there. The Texans and Jets are together teaching us just how much bad management can screw a team over.
Jets fans needed this. Just when we feel like the whole place is a dumpster, there's realistic, objective, quality content like this to remind us what the truth is about an nfl team. Not what the talking heads in the major "sports networks" are telling us while seeking hot-takes, but what true football fans such as yourself see in the game. Thank you for your insight and happy 2021!
This video was honestly a really nice Christmas present. I've been po'd all week about the win, but I forgot that I was in jet fan mind set instead of my regular football mind set, I was ignoring all the good we have had this year simply bc we lost a "generational talent". What I forgot to realize is that if you are banking on one qb to flip your franchise, its never going to work, but we have some good foundational pieces and we just need to fill a few roster holes and get a good head coach. Thank you for giving me hope again Brett, I just hope the jets don't do what they normally do with hope and somehow seemingly crush it again, but I'm with you, I trust in Joe Douglas.
As a Jets fan thanks for this! The win already happened so no sense living in the past. I would’ve loved lawrence but can’t blame a team for wanting to win a football game
It is also in Lawrence's best interest to be with an org that is READY to 150% fully invest in him. The stats he can rack up could set up for his 2nd big contract he will inevitably negotiate for and if his supporting cast on offense is ass, he won't be able to start that conversation of his terms starting in the triple digits. Yes everyone wants to hate on guys like Goff and Wentz who managed to negotiate for their massive contracts to their respective teams who thought highly of them like that. But in the interest of the athlete, to me this is where I give respect to possible future stars like Lawrence and how they think of their future career. If you want a good case scenario for a QB this year Josh Allen for the Bills could command that big money for his next contract in the future but he'll have the security knowing he'll still have Stefon Diggs catching passes for him at least when he does sign.
Thank you so much for this! I see so many analysts and fans who can't see past the quarterback. As a Colts fan, I watched with horror at the strain we were putting on Andrew Luck's spinal cord, walking around with 21 people hanging off his back. It seems so obvious when you say it - look around the league - there are great quarterbacks who win, and great ones who lose. What's the difference? The TEAM. If I were a jets fan, I'd be praying they trade down, even if they do end up picking #1 overall.

You know, I live in Colorado and i'm a broncos fan. I have been my entire life, I have gone to countless games from even the Elway era. Whenever we lose, it feels horrible. We just aren't the same team, of course. But when we win, i'm not thinking about the future, i'm just happy for them. These guys arguably get paid serious money, but they give their lives for our entertainment. Good for the jets players for being able to cap off a win. True fans of any team should appreciate when players succeed.
At this point with these intros you're going to teach me more about interesting alcoholic drink mixes than you do about football and that's saying something lol. Happy new year Brett and thanks for the great work as always. It's a privilege to have your mind on twitter and youtube like this.
As a jets fan this video does bring me some peace looking forward to 2021. I agree with almost everything you said, except i would say look for some other linebackers as mosley has been out for basically 2 years and they traded Avery Williamson instead of an extra WR of possible. Not that another WR would be bad, but a linebacker who can cover the pass would be nice, the middle of the field is a pass defense nightmare this year
The Parcells NY Giants approach: A) Get the OL and DL locked and loaded B) Draft generational linebackers C) Field competent special teams units When it comes to QB's: 1) Win with the guy from BFE (Phil Simms) 2) If he gets hurt, win with the guy from Whoville (Hostetler) One of Parcells great achievements was guiding the Jets to an 8-8 record with Tom Tupa, Rick Mirer and Ray Lucas at QB after Testaverde went down in the season opener. Lucas won six of his starts. They found a way. Good coaches do.
10:41 Is the way you play pass defense. As the ball is arriving you _look back for it_ and try to deflect or intercept. The way to know when the game is rigged is when the DBs are refusing to do this. When they are allowing the receiver to make the catch they will keep their eyes on the receiver and never look back for the ball. A lot of games are rigged so you see this refusal to look back for the ball A LOT.
Thank you Brett!!! These videos show your knowledge of the game. I live in NYC now and I get to see and hear about them so much. I have tried to say that it's not all on the #1 pick but it's just easier for Jets fans to find the easy way out. Your breakdown of the franchise really shows how necessary it is for them to move away from Gase. He is an albatross and the team needs to start to move forward but it's so hard for these franchises who have struggled for so long to start to focus on building momentum. Did have to laugh how you showed booze first on a video saying the Jets guide to everlasting happiness Thanks for putting this together and I agree with everything you say here. Well done. Happy New Year!!! To you and everyone.
Thankyou for saying this man - idk if it's the hype, the Mahomes effect, or maybe the financials of having a rookie QB, but so many teams seem to think that just having an amazing rookie QB is the only thing stopping them. I mean the jets and the jags both have promising (if unpolished and needing development) QB prospects and where has that got them? The cards and chargers have shown that an inexperienced but good QB can't just put the team on their back. There's so much value you can get from a high pick outside of a QB. As you say - build a good environment to slot a QB into rather than thinking a dude fresh outta college is going to singlehandedly save your dumpster fire
Agreed. Most top QB prospects aren't used to playing against a defensive avalanche falling on them each play like overall #1 picks usually do so they're not only facing a new level of talent, they're playing in entirely new conditions. Get your O-line straight first so whoever's calling signals can take half a breath before getting buried by d-linemen.

1am Brett upload! It’s a Christmas Miracle
While it sometimes saddens me Brett doesn’t get a video out each week, Brett’s got his own life. The video will be up when it’s up and I’ll be patient and happy when it is.
You produce some of the best content I have ever seen. I absolutely love what you do
Great Video Brett!!
As a Jets fan, thank you! I personally want to stick with Sam for one more year and see how he does with another talent infusion and more importantly a new head coach. Hopefully Douglas can trade back in first round!
Brett all jets fans owe you a debt of gratitude for showing the world that we got a shot if we play our cards right
Great Video. That opening was stunning.
Amazingly satisfying intro and always the best sports talk content on UA-cam , happy holidays brother
As a jets fan, I really needed this. Thanks!
Thank you, I needed this.
I love your videos because you make realistic statements because you do homework. Every video I either end up agreeing or I have already been saying. I hate the people that don’t watch all of football and only watch the skill positions.
I am not a Jets fan but this got me excited for them, well done
I you're looking for offseason ideas, doing these roster reviews for more NFL teams would be awesome.
I may not be a Jets fan. But as a 49ets fan this also sheds some light on our roster situation. Zach Wilson is going to us tho don't worry about it.
"they need a new running back, preferably one not already collecting on social security" I actually laughed out loud. As a Jets fan this did give me some hope so thank you.
Brett can you do an in depth video about the Bears and the talent they got in the draft and their future hopes at qbs
I liked how you explained that the number 1 qb in the board doesn’t always mean there gonna be something good
I simply love you xD ... no matter what topic, you are nailing it every single time bro!
Always love your stuff brett
As a bills fan I’m actually hoping the jets turn it around
I’m loving the afc East competition with miami, would love the jets competitive as well, and loving the pats sucking even more!
Dude, it’s 1 in the morning! Now I gotta watch
Thanks for this Brett, Merry Christmas to you and yours.
From a Giants fan, you nailed it! I did talk about this briefly in one of my videos, you just went more in depth and you are right on point!!!!
Brett is a really good guy
this was absolute flames my man
We need a fitzmagic video after the raiders game tn come on we need to see the magic in the film room
i dont think that even brett could explain how tf it works
