ABOUT THE GAME:
Resident Evil 4 is a 2023 survival horror game developed and published by Capcom. It is a remake of the 2005 game Resident Evil 4. Players control the US agent Leon S. Kennedy, who must save Ashley Graham, the daughter of the United States president, from the mysterious Los Illuminados cult. The remake has an updated plot, new visuals, characters, cast, and altered gameplay.
Resident Evil 4 was announced in June 2022 and released on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X/S on March 24, 2023. It received acclaim and sold four million copies in its first two weeks, making it one of the fastest-selling Resident Evil games.

We all highly recommend that you play the RE1 remake. It gives further insight on the blonde man with shades, who is undoubtedly one of the most important characters in RE lore. Great job, Whitney!!

@whitneysvision just that it requires a lot of inventory and resource management. Theres alot of key items and like 8 inventory slots if you pick jill.

Proud of you! A beautiful end to a beautiful play through. You’re a veteran now, you rarely even died on these last episodes. Handling and clutching the escape and the final boss, fucking up Krauser after a hiatus. You actually could’ve had higher than a B btw Whitney, re4’s rating has nothing to do with style or skill unless it’s professional difficulty. It’s about speed, saving Ashley the quickest. If you could do it all over again and update those early times with what you’ve learned, you’d have an A. And to get an S btw it takes speedrun mechanics, you’d have to skip sections. So that B is much higher than you even think, for a new player you’re only one rank lower than the best for a first playthrough!
Lore Drop: So I’ll wrap the last bits of lore and the new stuff that the remake has expounded on! You nailed the credits on the head. The villagers were taken advantage of, due to religion and technology alongside the parasite. They’re unfortunately brain dead by this point, completly taken over by the parasite which only has vague memories of its host. Death was their only release at this point so you did what you had too.
Ashley being in pain: The parasite literally threads into the nervous system, taking over everything from the spinal cord to the brain stem. It becomes a cpu in a way, bypassing everything and forcing itself to be the “main processor”. This is why the longer the infection goes, the riskier the cure gets. It’s also why she was in so much pain, and why complete integration results in the host dying.
Nemesis!?: That photo of Luis with an umbrella team in his lab is a new lore tie in added by the remake. Luis was always a prior umbrella scientist that moves away to work with saddler before realizing the full extent of what’s happening, and then being too scared to speak up until it was too late. (Getting infected and almost not being able to cure himself) However, the remake has added new context. That photo you found, that umbrella team and the other scientist aren’t new. We’ve seen them before in a completely different game, aka Re3.
Luis Sera is know tied in as a scientist who helped create nemesis, which is why he’s become so haunted by what he’s done. From nemesis to las plagas, Luis is quite the terrifying scientist. It’s why he seeks atonement so badly.
Seperate Ways will give you more lore from Ada’s end as well as a tiny bit about the sunglasses wearing guy. His name, is Wesker. And he was present during the very first outbreak in the arklay mountains. He’s been a villain since then and a reoccurring threat. He’s the main enemy in re5 directly because of the events in re4. Also there was a small amount of areas cut from Re4, and a fanfavorite boss. This was the only real critical fans had about the remake, and as perfect as the rest of the game was it was pretty minor. Nowhere near the mess re3 remake went through.
Turns out, the content wasn’t cut. It was moved to Ada’s story….. I can’t wait for you to see for yourself.

Costumes!: Alt customers and accessories aren’t just for show in re4, following other games they can have special affects or just looking cool.
Ashley has knight armor that makes it impossible for her to take damage, be killed, or carried away due to being “too heavy”. Also when Leon catches Ashley, he’ll cradle his lower back in agony,
Leon has a gangster outfit that doesn’t do much but look gangster af. However, a bonus weapon you can unlock in the game is a Chicago typewriter, or a Tommy gun. This gun can be upgraded to be infinite, and using it with this costume will turn the reload button into a taunt. The og ones were a little more over the top tho.
Ofc, Leon has his original RPD outfit. Cmon now, we all expected it.
Leon also has access to a few accessories that provide special affects. A gas mask that will enable auto aim on higher difficulties with no penalty, cat ears that give infinite ammo, deer antlers that double knife damage, and a rare wolf tail that boosts Leon’s melee attacks. Funfact, the wolf tail is still pretty rare to most players bc to get it you have to speedrun the easiest difficulty assisted which has a very very low time requirement due to how easy enemies die, it’s not easy ironically. Most players don’t even touch assisted much less speed run it.
This is a Knoife: In the original, Leon retrieves Krausers knife but never uses it, and it can’t be viewed or seen. It makes a reappearance at the end of the game, when Leon throws it like a dart to cut Ada down……which is kind of insane.
Choosing slightly more realism (but not by much lol) Leon instead shoots Ada down and Krausers knife is a useable knife centered around raw damage. Leon’s basic knife is based around speed, dps, and parrying. Krausers knife sacrifices all 3 a bit to greatly boost reach and attack power. When fully upgraded, anti grab stabs can instantly kill most enemies on normal and easy.
Speedrunning: There are a few sections in the game INSANELY important for speedrunning, and to achieve that s rank. Why? Because you get some sweet unlocks. One of which is adorable cat ears for Leon that gives him infinite ammo for all guns when equipped. The best sections are as follows.
Wrecking ball wall can be sped up with explosives such as grenades, darts, and the enemies own rockets/tnt. It can also be instantly opened by buying a rocket launcher and shooting it point blank after the fight starts. Completely skipping the waves.
In the castle, there was a room with an animal head that has a bridge to reach it. The minute Leon gets halfway a priest enemy hits a lever that drops the bridge, forcing Leon to fight waves of enemies to raise it. If Leon tosses a grenade on the balcony right before the cutscene happens, the enemies will be damaged/killed preventing him from hitting the switch. Meaning Leon can immediately grab the head and leave.
Verdugo’s section is set up to either kill verdugo, OR wait for around 20 minutes for the elevator. However killing verdugo quickly will instantly bring the elevator skipping the max time. The quickest way to kill verdugo is buying a rocket launcher, but DONT shoot him with it immediately. Verdugo has insanely high damage resistance due to its shell, firstly, use the first nitrogen tank to freeze it which will triple damage against it. Then shoot it point blank. This will immediately shatter verdugo into mist.
Ashley’s playable section can be halved to around 12 minutes. There’s nothing keeping you from already knowing the clock times…..meaning looking them up or being on a second play through will allow Ashley to open the clock doors at first sight, skipping nearly 50% of that chapter.
Mikes section can be shortened by tossing grenades into the AA gun from below skipping Leon’s climbing the scaffolding to reach the mounted lmg. Heavy grenades provide the best results.
But yeah! Figured I should give you one last walk of text to commemorate your last episode! Thanks so much Whitney I loved watching you play.
Once you get a chance, after doing some more re4. There’s another game series you should give a try. Devil May Cry. Re4 was basically nearly this. Instead of Leon struggling just to live, originally the writers thought it would be cool if Leon was able to access the parasite and use special powers. The game script wound up so insane it didn’t feel like a re game anymore, but it was far too good to abandon.
The “zombies” were more like demons. That Leon, became Dante. And that game, became Devil May Cry. And the rest is history,

He is Albert Wesker, one of the overarching antagonist of the first 5 (numbered) RE games (even if he only appears in 2 of them, 3 if we count Code Veronica).
And i'm telling you, that guy is completely broken, i mean not only mentally, but physically, you're not ready for what's going to happen in RE5 Remake, Saddler is child's play in front of him.
One of the most iconic video games antagonists.

@whitneysvision Oh yes. It's fun. There are pros and cons, but I'll keep my opinions to myself for now. RE8 had a better VR tutorial. I will say that. But this runs on basically the same engine. Although, I don't recommend you play RE8 in VR. You would probably have a heart attack. They did an outstanding job on Village VR.

Oh! One recommendation for VR. I don't know about the PS VR; I have the PS VR2. But on VR2, It's really front heavy which makes you really want to overtighten it so it doesn't feel like it's slipping, which can put a lot of pressure on your face and will, at best, be uncomfortable, at worst give you a compression headache after a short while. Get the extra over the head strap. It relieves all of the pressure and gives you a much better and more immersive VR experience because you're not thinking about how uncomfortable it is. Also, if you don't have a lot of experience with VR, just do short bursts. Maybe 30 minutes at a time. But once you are used to it, it's awesome. And there are things you can do in VR in that game that you could not do on a screen. :)
Men I just love resident evil… thanks for playing this game. I recommend re7 and then re8 more then re3 remake, but in the end you are gonna play them al :)

Well done on completing RE4R. I can't say I'll be around for your RE3R playthrough, but definitely interested Separate Ways. I think you mentioned you might also go for the RE4 Platinum? Nice! I still don't have it due to a bit of fatigue with the game but literally just one trophy/ playthrough left.

@whitneysvision Haha. And thanks for asking. To me, RE3R was a shameless rush job to get to the real bad boy... RE4R.
I never played the original RE3, but I've heard countless cries of cut content in the remake and how short it is. I've also watched the remake (and review/ rant videos on it) a few times, and speaking on Nemesis alone... It's just a blatant shame. He is now a mostly scripted dog wrapped in bin bags (worse design), whereas in the original, he was really after you at almost every corner.
Admittedly, I am the biggest RE4 fan in your comments section (yeah, I said it, lol. It's also how I found your channel). But don't get me wrong, RE4 also has some cut content, and the original did do some things better. But its remake is leaps and bounds better than RE3's, and with better value.
