My mom would watch this show when I was 5 years old. I would be watching it not knowing what was going on. But wanted to be on the couch with my mom. But I remember the theme music and it scared me. I was thinking because I would watch the movies with monsters at night after mom went to bed. I would sneak to the living room and turn the TV on real low. And be only about 2 feet from it. So when I heard the music on One Step Beyond. I always waited for a monster that never showed up.😊 But then watched it when I got older and got it.

Thanks for this powerful episode and the twist in the end. I saw this many years ago (1971) when I was 11 years of age and the effect is terrifying just the same. Except, it did not have a persistent hum throughout the film. Or could that be OSB on my part? Allow me to look around for any beds dangling from the ceiling...

I’m really getting tired of some people (probably younger ones!!) get so snarky with their comments! Thus show was over 60 years ago! It’s was great then and is great now! Extraneous sounds could just be because the film is old!
At first I thought, that background buzzing was somebody, ringing the doorbell, at their house. But, I see now, it's just that hearing doctor, giving all of us, his hearing test😏, heh-heh. It's in, this recorded copy. One thing I don't get though is that, our brunette actress has a short, hairstyle. But @21:16, she's now portrayed, as a blonde🤔⁉️ If that's intentional, then why? I always loved the Twilight Zone! It's just... this sort of Human interchange is so very remote! Who has servants?? Who has such a lovely home? We all struggle to hold a simple home and the means to get to our jobs! Oh... and I am a Manager! Reality is setting in for the American People! I shudder to think what is about to beset the investment, new world order class who still live this way! We ARE NOT SOCIALIST/COMMUNIST! The result will be very different! WE KNOW who are the REAL criminals who promulgated the criminal enterprises that resulted in our current situation! They are coming for you!
It's not the *what* Zone? That isn't the right way to spell 'twilight'. And before anyone gets snarky about spelling not being important, it really *is* important. Someone might have trouble understanding something you are trying to explain in writing, and write *you* off as a flake. I've heard the excuse that even with spelling errors you can get your point across; that might be true but between getting your point across and being eloquent and concise, the latter is much preferred. Oh, you probably know how to spell it and your fingers just slipped. Sorry, I do go on.

Most unpleasant unsweet unchildlike child voice ever. Truly frightening as if in terror and need. That voice would not get out of the memory easily.
