It's time to acknowledge that "big fruit" has become a huge menace to our economy.... They're in cahoots with "big chocolate bunny", and "big colorful fleece blanket". I'm really starting to want to find a range in my area that approves of the use of vegetables as targets. Even if it has to be organic.

REVENUE IDEA - One thing you can do for revenue is sell your old shot targets, signed, dated, perhaps with a note as to the firearm & ammunition. To you they might just be trash to throw into the recycling. For a viewer they are an original part of the history of a favoured channel and would make a great novelty picture or poster, if not for the main living room then certainly for the office, shed, garage, mancave, etc., and postage & packing for a roll of paper is not time-consuming or challenging.

I have a raging judge magnum that belonged to my uncle, the .410 shit is still gimmicky as always but with the .454 casual I can get 1 inch groups at 20 yards (off a rest, I’m no Paul harrel) which is more than enough for most handgun hunting applications, and it’s one of the few 6 shot .454’s on the market.
It’s honestly not a bad gun, quite heavy, but great hog medicine.
Never tried the regular judge, as my colt anaconda in .45 colt with the potential to shoot .44 mag level loads and birdshot loads (seriously, they exist for .38 .44 .45 etc.) can fire everything the regular judge does and much more, except the useless ass .410 buckshot loads.

This was an awesome review for short range performance. It’s my experience that heavy 69 to 75 grain 5.56 bullets are used for hunting and for long range “targets” in far away places. 100 yds isn’t a long range rather 700 or 800 meters. A lot of this ammunition is very capable at these longer ranges and it would be interesting to see a comparison for what’s available today. Steel penetrators are good at what they do, short rang penetration of barriers. But they have limited use as far as hunting is concerned, especially since better bullets are available.

@@charlesdalton985 And I understand. I have a .308, but it's bolt action, I use it for hunting. The Mini is home defense and plinking. I use the .308 for long-range target practice and, hopefully, hunting, if I can find a guide to teach me the fine points. I took the hunting class, got my permit, but I don't want to go out my first time alone. I would like to learn from an experienced tracker. A bolt action is more than accurate enough for me to take a deer at 100 yards. Past that, I would wait for a better shot.

I always like some "real world" tough guy doesn't like 380 acp because it's not manly enough. Lots of people can shoot a compact 380 way better than a 9mm especially if it's not the first shot and the ballistic difference is way less important than shot placement.

    • @dk1480

People should choose the most powerful caliber that they can shoot without practical speed and accuracy sacrifices. .380 acp and .38 special are the calibers that give you the least recoil while being significantly better than their less powerful cousins. I would feel confident in carrying .38

This is awesome, since this is the ammo I'm seeing around, a lot of IMI brand 77gr, M193, and M855. I did 2 gel tests with the 77gr loads from my 20" which is my go to rifle, and was impressed. Wish I had a camera, I would have shared that. Thanks for what you do Paul! Also, I found IMI's M193 is more accurate than other M193 loads out of my 20", 1 in 8 twist, HBAR rifle, and with their 77gr loads I actually was holding 1 moa groups! I think your groups may have been smaller if the target wasn't moving and if you had a better type of bullseye target, since when shooting groups the target makes a difference when you have a really good aiming point and sight picture, aim small miss small kind of thing. Also I have a 4x Brownells carry handle scope over my iron sights and that helps when seeing the true accuracy of a load, with iron sights you're naturally going to see a bigger group, and what you see is pretty consistent with when I use my irons. Nice video Paul! We appreciate it

Whenever I'm scrolling and see a Paul thumbnail I click on it (well, thumb it) and I know I'm gonna be enthralled for its entirety. I love how he just BUT WAIT THERES MORE the ammo from his jacket like he's a saleman helping you figure out what grain is best for any given scenario and the pros and cons he's encountered that may or may not be ideal depending on any number of factors with a hand written chart detailing chronograph results sorted by weight and/or velocity. It's such a concentrated amount of data that makes you be the judge when you put it to the test. He makes learning fun.

I would conclude that the IMI is not the best choice for a precision target or competition shooter. However, if it has an advantage it might be for defensive use or possibly hunting. More damage is better in both those applications and higher velocity (if the difference is significant to you) means more gas to cycle your weapon in sub-ideal conditions.
