I'm really enjoying this video on this Saturday...I'm still listening while I type this. Thank you Carey! I'm going to seriously consider this build for a family member. Have a great weekend.!👍

This sure takes me back to some of Carey's older how to build videos. A great how to video for anyone that is contemplating building a PC. And Carey does a wonderful job of instructing and describing the process. This is a must watch for any new builders and even experienced builders that want to see a professional in action.

A 76 yr old Senior Citizen here. Without you knowing......about 5 years ago....you taught ME (for my "very first time") how to take apart, build, trouble shoot desktops. I've built a number since, for friends & relatives....I'm not a business just a retired "every-day-Joe". So Thank You ! ! As you can imagine, I really enjoy your instructional videos (past & present).
If people pay attention, not only to your video and how you physically do things, but Equally Important, pay attention to your WORDS. You're a wealth of information. (...including the leaf blower dusting; oh yes I saw that one too...ha).
I now have taught my 14 year old Grandson this year how to take apart and build his first PC (from one of my previous builds). He loves it and has taken it apart more times than I know. He too is hooked on your videos. He's done some research and is now getting up his nerve to build a Gaming PC. He has to wait a bit for his savings to build-up (Grandpa can just do so much...). So, on his behalf, I have to also Thank You.
Now for those of you New Readers, take the time to look at the large number of Carey's videos....there's something for the Young, the Old, the Newbie, the Expert, and the even just the curious (all with a variety of budgets). I've come to regard him
as my on-line PC Professor; he creates his videos (in my opinion) not from his Gut, but from his Experience. Wouldn't want it any other way....well done sir.
    Regards, Richard (Massachusetts)

When Carey recommends some computer technology, it just works. The Scythe Mugen 5 really is that simple to install. I upgraded an i3 to an i7, and as it turns out, the case had a hole right where the metal backplate is installed, so I didn't even have to remove the motherboard.

Built this today. Followed along with a computer that Carey built for me in 2013 (and still works without any problems. in fact it has never had a problem). Great video. A few tricky parts but all in all fantastic and it posted on the first boot.

Carey Holzman, where were you, when i was at college studying the A+ nearly 20 years ago? I have learned more from you, than i did in my very 1st college course. I think you should be a lecture, Well i think you are technically when you do your live feeds. Keep pushing my friend! Also i am looking at building a Core i10, which will be a copy of one of your builds. Bar the case.

Re-watched this video again before building my I5 10400 with MSI B460 Bazooka MB. Been a while since I had done an Intel build and I have to say it was one of the easiest builds I have ever done. Everything practically fell together. The 10th Generation CPUs are pretty sweet. I use mine for basic programs and a slight bit of gaming..no need to OC. Thanks again to Carey for the information and encouragement he offers his viewers.

I was inspired by one of your videos to copy this build using the same motherboard, cpu, cpu cooler and case. Truly a no-nonsense build with the budget spent on the things that matter. Sadly, my 200R arrived with the bottom visibly bent at the PSU area, so it was almost impossible to slide my (used) PSU in. Too impatient to RMA the case, I may have damaged the PSU while shoving it in somehow, since the PSU blew up after having the system on a couple of hours. Or maybe it just died of old age, impossible to say. The build is working fine for a day now with a brand new PSU, and it worked fine for a week under constant load in a different case before I got the 200R. Going to let it run for a week before putting it out for sale, though.

At 34:44 you mention the plastic standoff for the 7th hole. That wasn’t mentioned earlier and I didn’t get one in the kit (all same as you’re using). Do you have an amazon link to the proper standoff to use? Thanks for a great video.

I follow all Carey's builds and I see he always puts the cooler backplate after installing the CPU. Other builds on UA-cam seem to do the same. Anyone know if there is a reason for this? I guess it's just habit and doesn't make any difference but curious as I'm soon going to do a build.

19:53. Just to point out not all socket 1151 chips will work on this motherboard..... 6th Gen and 7th Gen although socket 1151 cpus require either a 100 or 200 series chipset while 8th and 9th gen cpus require a 300 series chipset. If i recall well the socket on 300 series mobos is called 1151v2 Thanks for everything uncle carey

Can you tell me, what is the difference between a PC and a computer?
    Thank you.

    • @concernedcitizen2592

PC means Personal Computer and has historically referenced computers based on the original IBM x86 computers and clones. PC still mainly refers to x86 Windows computers these days. AMD CPUs are still x86 based CPUs. Just the term "computer" is a much more general term that includes PCs, Macs, the computer in your car, mainframes, super computers, etc.

depends on the parts, that are in it and what you want to achieve with it. means, which games on which settings you want to play. whatelse you want to do with it. the condition it is in. who you buy it from. how do you pay for it (cash, paypal, i prefer paypal). is it a local guy or a dealer? how much do you save by buying it, so the price matters too.

  • @pbcanal1

I have always ordered my parts through a company that has the name of a large cat, and I never will again. It took forever, and if you use PayPal, they are basically a pass through and your order doesn't even appear on your account. And good luck trying to return anything. Be sure to check the CPU pins for damage. I can't understand how I could have damaged one pin, but I spent two days figuring out how to fix it. Ya, Amazon is taking over the world, but there are benefits. I will never order from the cat site again.
