      SO REAL! I have compulsive picking/popping too. Even tho I 100000% know nothing is going to come put and I'm just going left with large red scabs I still go ham! I never see other woman with acne that have giant wounds/scabs on their face only METH/DRUG ADDICTS! Kinda hard to feel your best self when you look like the neighborhood tweeker 😫🖤

    1. Products take time. Your skin renews in 28 days. Give it 28 days.
    2. Depression and identity. It’s frustrating. Acne depression is real. Love yourself. You’re more than your skin.
    3. You’re not alone. There are people who support you. Learn and try new things.

    I am shocked!
    From the ages of ten I used to watch your videos religiously like all your acne updates from 2012, taking note of all your advice haha.
    But over the years I slowly stopped watching you & my favourite youtubers all together due to exams & busy life etc.
    Now I am 15 & I just so happened to click on your account today because I was curious to see how you are & how your skin was doing & whaat?!
    Your skin is practically crystal clear- I actually can’t believe it!
    It’s such a change since I last saw you. Really happy you’re finally more confident in your skin & feeling hopeful that mine will clear up soon too!
    Will be sure to watch to watch you more frequently now I found your channel again :)

I gained a ton of weight after starting antidepressants and then more after starting birth control, and I just feel so ugly and horrible and I have tried so many different things but nothing is working :'(

      I’ve tried so so many things to treat my acne, and just late last year I’ve found the secret to amazing skin. I kid you not, and it’s actually the cheapest acne product I have bought. Go to any grocery store that sells natural Aloe Vera leafs. I buy mine for literally $1 a pound. Take it home, cut it and wash the gel inside with water, it’s going to have a yellow liquid oozing out. You don’t want any of that. Blend the Aloe Vera gel all by itself until nice and smooth. You can store it in the fridge for about 3 weeks. Apply it on your face every morning and night after washing. I kid you not, it cleared me acne in a week, and it helps with hyper pigmentation. Hope it helps with yours as well!

    I haven't gone to see my boyfriend in nearly 2 weeks now because I have had a sudden severe acne breakout.. I thought I finally got to a point of healing, smoother skin, only faint fading acne scars to heal, but NOPE... the acne came back.. so strongly, out of nowhere! And now, I am lying in my bedroom every single fucking day, crying so deeply into my heart for my man who I miss so much... but just can't bring myself to see him.. The acne depression is seeping in once again, and I feel so isolated. I pray to God that this ends soon, I want glow and shine like you Cassandra. You're so beautiful, and you deserve so so much to be happy.

      Katrianna Mandala 😔I know exactly what you mean.. currently going through the worst breakout of my life. It’s been 2 months with non-stop breakouts. I start a new job tomorrow and Its scary to think about what people will think about me. I didn’t want to be around my friends, my parents , and especially my man. It’s a vicious cycle.. you don’t see them to hide because of the acne- but the stress and depression of being alone and thinking about it makes it worse. I hid for weeks at home and told them I wasn’t feeling well, but I’m tired of not having fun and spending time with my loved ones. I can’t wait until it’s calmed down, but I also need to keep living my life. Good luck to you girl, you’re not alone ❤️

    I am so happy that you're posting so often at the moment, I live for your video's! When you described having a panic attack when you stop in the car because you think people beside you would look, that is a very real thing for me also. I have passed up on going out, dates, job opportunities, it completely runs my life and I feel like that's who I am and all I stand for.. when deep down I know I'm a lot more than the spots I have on my face. I've had this for 15 years or so now and I hate waking up thinking about it, going through my day trying not to let anyone come to close to me, assessing lighting situations whether it be on a bus, outside, a shop etc. Wondering where is 'safe light' in the evening if I do decide to go out that doesn't highlight how bad it is. My skin runs me and every decision I make in life. It does sound so over the top, dramatic and self obsessed.. but I really am none of those things usually. Thank you for your video's they are helping me so much xxx

    • @OCFreak2009
      @OCFreak2009 6 років тому +5

      I know that lighting situation very well. It's so freakin hard. To be honest, I can actually relate to every single thing you mentioned. It really feels like a burden & makes me feel less alive. Don't wanna think about all that stuff in my daily life, just wanna be free of those thoughts, but it seems to be impossible.

    • @kellytormey4650
      @kellytormey4650 6 років тому +3

      It's so hard isn't it. I'm 30 now and I feel like it has been a burden on me for way too long. I have started working on my self esteem stuff to help. It's hard when you feel you've tried everything. I earn a very low wage and the amount of money i've spent on products, treatments, skin analysis, makeup etc is ridiculous. Would have been cheaper to buy a new face I reckon. Lol. I feel your pain, I really do xx

    • @jannabi_happy
      @jannabi_happy 6 років тому +1

      I could have wrote that like word for word... you said it so well it hit me.
      I feel you, dear... It's so hard.
      Just today, I hanged out with my friends in broad light, and when the sun came down found myself thinking "I wish days where this dark" because I feel so much conscious of my skin im day light... I stopped looking in the mirror under natural light when I realized how different it was from artificial light.. the redness, the spots, the scars, the texture.. I don't want to see it.
      And oh boy am I trying to work on myself. Trying to see beauty in that mirror when all my head and heart can see is ugliness, trying not to envy even my friends when I'm looking at them and catch myself thinking "ah their skin is so good", trying not to give a mean look at the strangers who cross my path when all I'm thinking is "why you looking I know I look ugly so please look the f away"
      Trying is already so difficult. Still, for there are days on which my skin looks descent, for these days give me hope, I keep on trying.
      It's tough but let's keep hope ♡

    LOVE YOU AND THIS VIDEO, CASSANDRA! I just finished my 7-month accutane journey, after suffering with acne for over 10 years, and it definitely took a physical toll on my body, never mind the toll acne just naturally takes on your mental/emotional health. It's looking up, but I still have bad scarring and discoloration. But I finally have the courage to be makeup-less on UA-cam, and I'm finally following my dream to become a video editor. And a lot of why I'm okay with how my face skin looks now is because of YOU! Thank you! If my family and my boyfriend don't care about the blemishes on my face, why should I? I will keep treating my skin, because I deserve to look my best, but I don't OBSESS over it anymore. I'm not here to look pretty! I'm here to LIVE MY LIFE!

    This is so great. Cassandra is right. When one stops letting acne control their life, it does start to clear up. That's my experience anyway. Stress management alla self regard has got my skin in a much better place than when I lived everyday out of fear. Dermatologists sure won't tell you this! Cassandra in Greek mythology is a messenger of truth that everyone needs to hear, and as our Cassandra points out, millions of people need to know the truth about accne! Raw and honest and expressing exactly the suffering of so many. You are voicing feelings and experiences that most of us are frightened to admit to and/or unable to voice ourselves. In my case it's 'been there, done that'. I'm an old dog now and although FINALLY no longer have the acne problem, the painful feelings still resonate strongly. Cassandra, thank you for making videos on how to help with acne and its effects. I've had adult cystic acne for over a year now...but it feels like forever. I do want to thank you for making all those videos about curing acne naturally. I use to use a natural detergent for washing my clothes, and when I had switched back to Tide, I got back acne and chest acne. Recently, I switched back to the natural washing detergent and my back acne is completely gone and my chest acne is super minimum. I am really grateful for those videos. I am trying a more natural and raw diet now, and I hope I can see results from that as well. My face is a whole lot more stubborn though with healing and changing...it almost seems like nothing will budge it to get better. I've also started taking turmeric, apple cider vinegar, and I'll soon be taking a natural stress reliever. Thank you so much for also sharing what you have experienced and struggled with, because it is SO encouraging to know I'm not alone. And also, I LOVE your raw food ideas...I'm hoping to try some of them out!

      Ainaa Ismail Don't be bothered! Ppl are weird! To a really tall person: "Wow, you're really tall!?" To a fat person: "You're fat!" Somehow stupid ppl feel the need to point out obvious things, like there is any possibility we don't already know. "Yeah, thanks, I know I have acne."

    Hey Cassandra, just wanted to extend my sincere gratitude for being on here as a beacon of hope for all the acne fam! I had once stumbled upon one of your videos when looking for tricks to get rid of acne. You are one among the two people on here who I follow, the other being Brian! The two of you are amazing and give hope to a community that battles with personality disorders that arise out of the depression and anxiety in the process of dealing with acne. Like how you said in the interview in Doctors, stressing about a stress makes stress worse. And yes Time! All good things to those wait.
    I have had mild to severe acne for years now. I was on accutane for close to 5 months, although I keep getting some mild breakouts every now and then( I may go back to it).
    Your message on here is just ❤️. Thank you for sharing this and always being there to give us all hope and make us smile. 😊

    This is so true! I have acne for 3 yrs now, and the condition has been up and down, I tried hospitals, pills, Chinese herbs, all the different skin care, and just doesn't work. I also cut down dairy, sugar and drink a lot of water, it doesnt work that well either. I feel depressed and sad, people judge me, people look at me with a strange look, but I keep telling myself I'll be ok in the future! thank you for the video and support for acne groups! love from Shanghai!

    This is exactly what I needed to hear. I have been using the acne.org regimen for waaay longer than 28 days and realised it hasn't actually "cured" me. So now I'm feeling desperate trying everything re-doing all my research... what expensive chemicals should I put on my skin next? Feeling overwhelmed and obsessing over it. Taking a step back now, trying to focus on just getting through it instead of fighting it and thinking less of myself.

    you're amazing Cassandra, I've been struggling with my skin for a long time or so it seems that way. Everyday I wake up and I feel like I can't live my best life or live up to my full potential or even get the things I want in my life because I have acne. People don't understand what it's like to build your world around this skin condition.. I think it's on my mind about 90% percent at all times but your videos give me hope that I too will figure it out and that I am more than my skin.. regardless of how clear it is at the moment I have more to offer, so thanks for being that voice for me

    You are so right Cassandra. Acne is painful and very frustrating. I used to cry myself to sleep because of how I looked but once I got older I stopped caring what other ppl think. I gave up and I still kinda do. There is nothing I can do about it I have tried everything and now I am just gonna stick to the products you use to clear my skin so far nothing much has worked but I will just use that.
    Ps are you planning on doing the skin care routine video where you mention all the products you use or used to clear your skin.??! You did one already but I think you mentioned that those are not all products.

    I started having moderate acne at 10. None of my friends had it, and I got a lot of hurtful comments from other people. I started covering it up with a mask of makeup, and refused to go out without foundation. When I came across your videos I saw that one could be beautiful even with acne. Partly thanks to your videos my acne is starting to clear up. Most importantly, I am finally getting my confidence back . I am even considering going out without foundation for the first time since I was 11 .

I usually get like 2-3 pimples once in awhile if it’s the time of the month so it’s not too bad it could be worse, but these acne marks is what’s really getting to me.

    Best advice I've heard on acne. And the acne depression thing, oh lord. Don't even. It almost stopped me from going to college and the classes and nobody really understood what's the big deal but it is the biggest deal to have your whole face covered in acne that's irritating you, itchy, and painful to touch even. Ugh.

While watching this video I started crying because I know that Im not alone in this and I still have a chance that it will get better. I still hope that I will have clear skin some day.. It certainly affect me in my life and Im struggling with that every single day. I thank you so much for these videos as it helps a lot.

    omg I love you for this. I developed adult acne randomly during the summer and it got bad on my cheeks. I️ suddenly hated looking in the mirror, I hated going out because that meant I would have to put on makeup, which soon became something I started to hate as well because it made my face look worse. I found your acne video around october and I started using dr bronners soap and it’s helped me sooo much. And two months in, my face texture has improved tremendously but i’m still dealing with acne scars. But now I️ realize that it just takes time, and it’ll pass. Thank you so much for all the help!! Also thank you for addressing the whole “it’s what’s on the inside not outside” because like you said it’s true but that does not mean acne depression isn’t real!!

    Can you make a video on how to start loving yourself with acne? I know you talk a lot about the moment that you "gave up" and just said okay, i'm gonna love myself for me regardless of my skin and do what makes me happy. But how did you start that process? I feel like that's the point that I'm at right now in my acne journey where I'm just over it and don't want to let acne hold me back anymore. I just don't know how to start. I know I should do activities that make me happy and fill me with joy, but how do you train your brain to just not care? When I wake up in the morning the first thing I do is look in the mirror to see if my acne went away. I've started to try and teach myself to not do that because it doesn't matter, but it's so hard. I always convince myself that people won't take me seriously because of my skin (acne only being associated with early adolescence for people who have never experienced it as an adult, and for some reason I've convinced myself that they won't think I'm mature and in my 20s because of my acne). So I know that your answer is probably to just focus on what makes you you and what makes you happy, but if you have any other pointers or tricks I would love a video about it. I don't care if it's 5 minutes or 45 minutes I'll watch the whole thing lol. You're such an inspiration to me ❤️ thank you for what you're doing.
