I've got the bill lawrence usa in my chavel flipped just because it's direct mount and the wires are on the wrong side so I flipped it. I have SD dimebucker as well sounds hotter then the usa bill but love both.
Man everyone claims the BLUSA and the Wilde pickups sound exactly the same but here the BLUSA pickups sound weak as shit, while the Wilde pickups sound louder with more attack.
Wouldn't say they're weak, I've had 2. They were quite hot pickups. Not my DiMarzio X2N stupid hot, but pretty much about EMG 81 hot. The real (though, still minor) difference I hear is that BLUSA is a touch more bright and compressed (and compression is good for metal), cause it has a ceramic magnet, as opposed to Wilde having Alnico V. In my opinion, they're both amazing pickups, but Wilde are known maintain a higher level of QC, that's about it.

Maybe the flip has to do with the way the the coil wrapping starts and ends. could be one side has a slight stronger pull based on the way the coil is wrapped starting and ending position.
What I think is that all of them have small differences being all derived from the same pickup. Dimebucker seems to be the one with more output and a little more trebly. Bl-usa a little bit less output and Bill and backy in the middle, the flipped one sound slightly different but... It seems to me also louder in the overall volume so maybe that's why seems to sound better. Anyway the sound of dimebag was processed in several booster and eq before the amp... So small differences in eq would be compensated with different settings in the eq before the amp. So in my opinion... Get the one you find the easiest way.
