Way to memorize the generals: Be My Little General. Brigadier General, Major General, Lieutenant General, General. BMLG. Dad taught me that
thankyou!
Memorize:
1. Soldier's Creed
2. Army Values
3. General Orders
4. Army song
5. Army Rank Structure
Andrew Smith what exactly do we need to know rank structure wise everyone keeps telling me this. But do i need to know the symbols for rank? (Dumb QUESTION i know but still) lol
Yes, the sooner you learn that the better.
Andrew Smith that's a lot lmao but I have just about the first 2 down and I leave next month. Which is the 3rd most important?
All 11 general orders or just the 3? I'll learn them all but if I only need to know 3 for the army then I'll focus on those.
For the army, it is just the 3 general orders
Just passed meps today. I'm going to be a 25 Bravo in the army reserves just like you. Thanks for all the help. I've learned a lot from you. Excited to ship out. After college I plan on becoming an officer like you.
Dray Lemos 25b same here 🤘. I leave to basic in 3 weeks 🔥
Dray Lemos what was your asvab score to get 25B?
Jesse Holley I had a 72
Bmb.Jonathan shit I want 25 B lol doubt I'll score anywhere past 45-50
Jesse Holley It doesn't matter what your overall score is . Jobs go off your line score. I got a 50 overall score. You need a 95 or higher in the ST line score. I got a 110 which qualified me for the job.
If you plan on going Infantry, learn the Infantryman's Creed and the Infantry Song. If you are going the Ranger route, learn the Ranger Creed (the Regiment way; the Ranger 'School' Creed says "-of the Rangers." where the Regiment says "-of my Ranger Regiment." ) to include the pauses.
I leave for Fort. Benning tomorrow!!! Thanks for all the help Matt.
Woah your intro was nostalgic and reminded me of when I was getting ready for bct, wasn't that long ago but it feels like forever
i’m 16 right now and i’m preparing already, thank you for your service and the hugely helpful tips, lol so much information to know
Same here lol
Got a 95 on my ASVAB but I'm blind partially, just been worried about my physical fitness and I prepare to prepare, therefore your videos are good insight thank you, I hope MEPS passes my eyes with a waiver.
Bloody hell you got this!
Doing my future soldier training program online right now!
I'm going into the Army reserves, meeting up with my recruiter Friday 👌🏽😃 this video helped me out a lot
Glad it helped! Good luck

@@flamenautt7735 this fool died
This was the last thing he said before he died
@@xxrandmlinksxxbruh2419 That’s not funny. He’s a Army soldier now. Show him some respect.
I think I am going when I turn 22 right now I'm 10 and my laptop screen saver is the soldier's creed so I don't forget.
Bro enjoy your childhood first
@@UNICORNRAINBOWSUNSHINE311 bro let him have his dreammsss
im not sure if you are still planning on going, but if you are, I highly recommend going to BootCamp your junior year and then doing AIT once you finish highschool! the national guard also pays tuition for any public college in your state, and you can get a 3 year contract done before you turn 20 this way!
Maps and land nav is basically what I do now and hobby is building ar 15s. Should be good for that. Shipping to basic in a few months. Love the videos going for combat engineer, 12b I think
Land NAV honestly isn’t that hard but pay attention to it especially the grid when you get to eight digits.
Leaving for basic in fort benning in 10 days. Your videos are great man. Super helpful, answers a bunch of questions.
Are these the 3 General Orders?
I will guard everything within the limits of my post and quit my post only when properly relieved.
I will obey my special orders and perfom all my duties in a military manner.
I will report violations of my special orders, emergencies, and anything not covered in my instructions, to the commander of the relief.
Those are the 3 general orders for the Army
I'm shipping to BCT this Monday. Wish me luck and success!
Did you died?
I’m a freshman in High School and plan to ship to fort benning right after graduation (gonna die in the heat 😂) but I’m about to knock this stuff out now and be “that kid” at basic
Know your left from your right and the army rank from Enlisted to Officer. This is very important because you will see lots of different ranks before you start BCT and during.
Heading out to basic in October. We have monthly drills leading up to it and my platoon was smoked by the 1 Sgt today because someone said it wrong.
I ship out in 3 weeks I’m excited
I ship out Monday but i already know all of this because of RSP drill
Kale Hughes where you going
E Watson Fort Jackson
Kale Hughes good luck 👌 I ship Monday to lenardwood
E Watson What's your snap so we can have contact after? But Good luck to you too ✊🏽
how was it man? I start RSP saturday and go to Jackson in June
I would love a land navigation video
I leave September 18th
He put one up separately
Thanks man, ship tomorrow to Ft. LostInTheWood, Missouri. Wish me luck!💪🏾🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Going to basic in 10 days, thank you for this!!
Love the videos man keep doing them, your the most in depth person I've seen doing them. Also going to talk with a recruiter within the next week or so.
this is one of facts i need to learn thanks.
Hi, Matt!! When memorizing the Army Rank Structure, are we memorizing just the generalized positions or the people that are actually in those positions? (Might be a silly question but I like to be thorough.) And your videos are way informative; I've already learned so much and I'm so grateful! You're awesome!
Did you died
@@JungSooLeee die * and i doubt she did
Going to Fort Benning, September 11 👌
Bmb.Jonathan what are you taken it with you my son is going but I don’t know what he need to take

@@restfulcube-notyet Im headed to LWood in 3 weeks… help lol
Shipping out Fort Sill October 23rd, wanted a video on what to bring and what NOT to bring??
JMurphy010 Take all of your personal documents and paperwork from meps, your orders. Some money and wear comfortable clothes and shoes...
Shiby I'm leaving for fort sill In March how was it?
Belated comment on some things NOT to bring to basic training listed below:
Knives or cutting tools
Food
Porn or suggestive material
Martial arts weapons
Alcohol
Love all your videos! I ship in 2 weeks and this definitely helps a lot... would it be a good idea to know the little army/military facts such as when the Army's birthday is? Or who wrote the star spangled banner, and for which war? And things like that?
+Jennifer Sweitzer Ypu should know the Army's birthday. You may actually be asked that but it's by no means a requirement and no I don't think you need to know that. Sometimes a DS may joke around and ask a whole bunch of questions but aside from that you will be fine.
Shootemup89 thanks for the advice!
I'm bad at memorization Basic training is gonna be tough for me😂
shipping tomorrow, thanks matt!
Your Videos really help, Thank you very much!
Thanks for the videos really helping me get ready. I leave for basic September 5th.
Great videos make, love the channel. I'm 16 and turning 17 in September and joining National guard hopefully to become Military Police. I've been searching EVERYWHERE but I can't find the minimum score for the ASVAP test for MP. If you know at all please tell me.
YoungFoolsLearn it's 31
Good shit bro thank u I always enjoy your videos 👌
Hello Matt. Thank you for making all these videos and they really helped me get ready physically but more so mentally for basic training!
I leave next week to Ft. Benning, Infantry OSUT!
Hey it's me again! I was wondering if you could make a video about what really happens during combat and during basic training vs. The movies
celia jones watch the documentary Restrepo
Great documentary. 10/10
Thank you for all your advice I'm getting ready to go and I like to be ahead of things I'm getting into. I bought the ranger book did you just read it and try to understand it or did u have a study guid?
Love the videos man, help me out a lot, ship out next june.
Glad to help man. Are you in the DEP?
yessir
Soldiers creed, army song, general orders(3), army values, must be memorized before basic better if learned before.
Also the ranking structure and recognizing the symbols/rank logos.
Land navigation no/no go event.
Goat
When you say 'The Army Song' is Army Goes Rolling Along one? I don't want to memorize the wrong song.
Yeah that’s it! Haha
Appreciate the quick response.
I know you must get tons of comments like this, but I ship out to BCT in less than two months, and I can't even begin to explain how much your videos have helped me out.
Thanks again, keep coming out with the great content!
Ship out October 15 , Ft Lenardwood , 31 Echos Resettlement/Internment Specialist
Steven Alcantar no shit me too! Same mos too. See you there bro
Heading out in t-minus 58 days to ft benning. Infantry life lol
I head to Fort Leonard Wood October 31st, 12B :D
I'm leaving for there Nov 7
For the same thing
Hey I'm going there too the 7th
leaving for BCT May 15. 89B Ammunition Specialist
19 Delta over here 😩 wish me luck
Do a reassemble video too
i go on July 23 to get my physical done, then after school next year, its off to basic, given i pass the physical.
what the heck, the soldiers creed is so long and the soldier song included😫😵
the extensive explanation of the background though😂😂
lol
You should be a Recruiter
iam about to go into junior year of high school so i have lots of time to study ha!
I ship off 20181002. Do you have a video (or know of a video) on the phases? I had some trouble with those when I was doing them for the first time.
lol who actually had all these for future soldier training
I would like to have a shift I can cook the guys meals every single day because nobody in my house knows how to cook for a crap
I just came back from my AIT and Basic Training before that. Honestly, just be a shitbag. Don’t do anything well or productive. Do the wrong thing when everyone is watching. Don’t care about anything.
10 days before i ship out, 89 delta
Good luck!
Well I leave to day at 13:50 and I don’t have the soldiers creed memorized or the complete rank structure or the 2nd and 3rd general order
How’d it go???
Hey, I have a question for anyone who has served in the army active duty or reserves. I've recently been looking into the army reserves (possibly active duty) with some sort of IT MOS. I've really been on the fence about this.. my thinking is it could strengthen me all around as a person mentally and physically and hopefully set me up for a successful life in IT after. I have hesitations because if I go and hate it there is no backing out. So my questions are do you think the army can prepare you for a successful career in the civilian world? What does a day in active duty look like for someone in IT? I've heard the reserves may not help much in terms of finding a job in IT since your only doing it one weekend a month is this true?
Tom Delaung` My mos is an IT Specialist 25b but I haven't gone to BCT or AIT yet, I leave in 3 weeks. I've been to drill for 3 days tho since I'm a Reserve and have heard nothing but good things about this mos. A lot of soldiers envy the career I'm going to have. They've told me to take advantage and get my certifications so that I can use them in the civilian world and get a really good job. Supposedly it shouldn't be hard to find since we work with computers and the technology field is always growing. Reason we would get jobs easier would also be because it's a lot easier for us to get these certifications than normal civilians plus being in the army looks good on a resume of course. I passed my asvab with a 72. Hopefully you'll have the job available for you when you're shown what jobs are open.
In reception right now they let us use our phones in the bay at Jackson im supposed to ship tomorrow wish me and my platoon luck
how did it go bud
to anyone joining in 2024 or later, these are pretty accurate. here's what I've been told to study if you don't wanna google each item:
1. The Soldier's Creed:
I am an American Soldier.
I am a warrior and a member of a team.
I serve the people of the United States, and live the Army Values.
I will always place the mission first.
I will never accept defeat.
I will never quit.
I will never leave a fallen comrade.
I am disciplined, physically and mentally tough, trained, and proficient in my warrior tasks and drills.
I always maintain my arms, my equipment, and myself.
I am an expert and I am a professional.
I stand ready to deploy, engage, and destroy, the enemies of the United States of America in close combat.
I am a guardian of freedom and the American way of life.
I am an American Soldier.
1.5: The Warrior Ethos is imbedded within the 4-7th lines.
I am a warrior and a member of a team. I will always place the mission first. I will never accept defeat. I will never quit.
2. Army Values
Acronym: LDRSHIP.
Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Selfless Service, Honor, Integrity, Personal Courage.
a great way to memorize this fully is to recite it backwards!
3. General Orders
1st General Order: I will guard everything within the limits of my post, and quit my post only when properly relieved.
2nd General Order: I will obey my special orders, and fulfill all my duties in a military manner.
3rd General Order: I will report violations of my special orders, emergencies, and anything not covered in my instructions, to the commander of the relief.
4. Army song: I could have written down the lyrics for this, but I recommend listening to this song like 50 times over (seriously,) there are loops available online with and without lyrics. If you're a musician/musically inclined, its extremely easy to remember. The lyrics are simple and sweet.
5. Army Rank Structure:
Know what chevrons and rockers are. Makes it very easy to remember e1-e9. 2 little tricks I use; Sergeant Major has a star inside the 1st rocker, relating to the the Major Ursa constellation. Also, Master Sergeant is the first rank to have all 3 chevrons and ranks!
* ALSO... you should definitely make sure you know how to do these basics: stand at attention, stand at parade rest, do an about-face, etc
I leave for Benning October 10th
I see pull up bar behind you lol get it boI
9/26 is ship date! 19-D All your videos are really helping
Shipping September 20th
Can you do a video on the reserve 20 hear pension. How much is it? How much are you paid during basic and ait?
Also are you paid on the 1st and 15th or just the end of the month?
Jonathan Oakley You get paid according to your rank on the 1st and 15th during basic
During basic and ait you get paid as active duty
You are wrong in the Navy and you do have to know rank structure.
Fort benning 2019 April 16th
Ibn Smith how did it go for ya
What if u cant memorize it ?
Please make a Land Nav video!
I've got a pretty extensive land nave video :)
Matt Ward yes !! I found it after I commented , thank you! Btw, I love all your vids. They’re so informative and you explain things so well.
Just need to memorize the Soldier's creed
Is there an equivalent to all this stuff for the Navy?
What they need yo take for first training like personal stuffs
Jason Perez if you’re talking about what to bring?? Don’t bring anything. My personal experience was I literally went and buy everything they said to bring and they made us throw it away and rebuy them at the PX with the eagle cash card which has your money on it. So don’t bring anything.
I want to go into the national guard do you know at fort Bragg do you have to learn how to swim there?
+Paula Barnes Ypu aren’t going to have to learn how to swim
do you have to swim at basic training?
Not currently no. For future infantry, maybe
when they ask us "what are the army values?" do we answer with "LDRSHIP" or by actually saying "Loyalty, duty, respect, selfless service, etc" ?
Do you need to know the ranks or the chain of command? Is there a difference?
You do need to know both
Rank is what level of authority a person has in the military
Chain of command is who the specific people in charge of you are
I leave to fort Jackson sept 5
Jaycob Montalvo ill be there October 2
Thank you
Looks so weird with the new set up 💀💀
Are you still in the Army?
He graduated from college and is now a reserve officer
Do we have to memorize the army alphabet??
Grace G no....
You don't have to but it'll be beneficial to just learn it now rather than when you're already stressed in BCT. It's an easy learn now, I learned it in like less than an hour
great.
For the army values do I need to know the paragraphs that go with them or just the words?
I think future soldiers have too much access to information!! I can see it being beneficial but when I went to BCT in 1987 we all just winged it and studied hard while we were there and not before hand...
LMAO
