What's the best netflix series? Movies OR show

Dark
Sense8 and The Haunting of Hill House are by a MILE the most high quality productions Netflix will ever have
The haunting of the hill house
Also the last fight scene where they fight while protecting Andy was so kick ass. They all had great chemistry together and you felt like they fought together and were friends forever. And that speech in the van was kick ass I mean for someone to say that about you and mean it and not be ashamed is everything. I am glad they left it in the movie.
Me too
THE WOMAN DROWNED FOR CENTURIES AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN ! Worst fate in netflix cinematic history ever
You clearly haven’t watched the vampire diaries
thewolfsogood I have and I agree with the original comment😂
Susan Zurita yh didnt read it right but cant agree that its the worst fate in netflix history
@@thewolfsogood Oh come he didn't drown for centuries .... she in the other hand ...
Ladygothii12 i thought he ment like the first time this has happened xD silly me
That van scene was one of the most intense acting in a romantic scene I've seen in a few months.
I can't imagine drowning for 500+ years in a deep dark sea. 😷😖
Salt water would have worn through the chain in a single century.
There were holes, so animal’s probably ate at her and things grew on her
I really enjoyed this movie. Hoping Gina stays on for the sequels. Also, all four leads were so entertaining and kick-ass, especially Kiki and Charlize.
The woman can't be sane after thousands of years under the water, dying over and over again HOWEVER I think she can't be all evil because nature takes away their ability to live when their mission is complete and she survived. So whatever happens, it will be ultimately good for humanity's sake.
Or it'd be good for nature's sake. When humanity is destroying the nature beyond repair, maybe it's time for nature to get rid of humanity.
@@loveislove2359 nature wouldnt do that, she works for humans lol
@@ulasonal That's very arrogant for you to think that. If nature is for humans then I assume humans is that abusive husband. Sooner or later nature is going to "JLO enough" that ass.
I think shes so INSANE that shes reached a new realm of SANE
@@thebelx89 I meant in the movie, everything Andy did, it was all for humans. She could have wiped us all out a thousand years ago but nature didn't want her to.
God, imagine being stuck surrounded by one of the most idiotic species for the rest of history
0 they kill them selves by flying into the dome in Minnesota, and I’m pretty sure New Orleans too
But what if God was one of us? He'd already know by now
@@alonsogonzalez7539 what
The speech when joe confessed his love to Nicky is some of the best acting I’ve seen in recent years!
I was sobbing!
The marvel part tho lmfao
Very awkward to watch with my homophobic dad
Go Dutch actor!
They always change things from comics. Therefore they should've changed that, nobody wants to see that stuff. They should've been brothers or something!
I actually really enjoyed this movie! Hope they come out with a second one!
The movie was actually laughably bad... can you people please not encourage directors to release such lazy written movies.. please
@@whatNtarnation90 I actually kinda liked the movie as well. And if you didnt like it, just dont watch the second movie and dont attack people who liked it
@@whatNtarnation90 I mean, people liked it. You didn't. Why take away something that people enjoy just because you did not have the same experience as them?
@@whatNtarnation90 it has big room for improvement yeah, but I'll glady watch Charlize Theron just walking around for an hour.
@@duck-ew5zs Everyone has objectively bad movies they enjoy. I liked the Meg even though it wasn't good. People need to separate personal bias from objective truth. Objectively, the movie was a sloppy mess with an absurd amount of scenes that made no sense and were cringe worthy writing decisions.
Hoping they do more action set pieces in the sequel. Kiki Layne is an awesome physical actor (and incredibly beautiful too) hoping she does more action movies in the future as well. I can think of at least 2 Marvel roles she’s perfect for.
Thank you for mentioning her. I think she's dope. I'm going to guess that one of those Marvel roles is Storm? Cause I think she would make a great Storm.
Plot Hole (SPOILERS): the lab where they were experimented on didn't get blown up...their blood samples are in the hands of somebody
I don't think it's a plot hole as much as it is a set up for a sequel
Ah, but I don't think their power comes from genetics. That is just the belief of the science guy. It is just an unexplained phenomena.
They asked the british guy to make anything about them disappear, we can see him at the end erasing footage of the black girl dieing and coming back so he probably took care of the samples too. And btw that wouldn't be a plot hole, more of a loose end
Along with what's already been said, even if they do have the samples they only have so much blood to experiment with before they run out. That was part of the plan to keep them there, to have an endless supply.
I really enjoyed this movie and I loved the fact that they did the Joe and Nicky Van scene from the comics most action would not have the balls to do that. The only thing I would change is music in some scenes it just seemed a bit out of place.
I really wanted to like it, good cast etc but something felt off, may have been pacing or plot holes but I think it’s likely the over the top villain - up until him it felt rooted in the real world but then we’re back to shitty villains with no depth of the 80/90s
I agree. I did not like the soundtrack at all it felt like they were trying to attract a younger audience which is okay but there are other ways to do that than with music. Hopefully the sequel comes with better music.
Huh, I actually enjoyed the music. I guess I fit firmer into the target audience
Yeah. They could have done better with the soundtrack
All I can say is that I deeply loved this movie. I've never read or seen the comics nor any of the books. However, it was well done and it's one of my top five action/sci-fi movies.
This movie was really good! And is it just me or is the thought of that girl drowning over and over again give me shivers
@The Jim Reaper™ idk why you have to conpare them, i actually enjoyed this movie more then highlander tbh
belle this movie was pretty good, and I just really felt devastated for her. I just can’t imagine being all alone and drowning for centuries
@@OReily08080 same and i honestly loved the idea of two immortals falling in love after killing each other and just trying to do good plus the bad ass fighting scenes also yes the drowing part, that would be horrible!
belle the story was quite interesting, they were on opposing sides at first, constantly killing each other until they fell in love
Merrick the Muggle 😂
The old guard was much better than I expected
The old guard was really good though.
How much is netflix paying you? I understand enjoying it, it was kinda fun. But objectively the writing was 2/10 at best.
@@whatNtarnation90 its fucking Netflix Chill.. the movie was fun and entertaining not a deep movie and doesn't try to be. Interesting concept and good action
Hunter W The old guard was really good though.
I’ve commented so many times that it doesn’t phase me anymore when I see special comments if you know what I mean.
@@whatNtarnation90 Lmao dude, the same can be said for any marvel movie or blockbuster out there, these type of movies are supposed to be fun and entertaining, if you want complex films go and watch something from Pedro Almodóvar, Jennifer Kent or Yorgos Lanthimos, and don't judge an action flick like you would Dheepan. Also, get down from your high horse, being edgy by stating a film is bad on a youtube comment section does not suddenly makes you a film critic.
I really enjoyed it tbh, was fun and can't wait for the sequel
I'm sorry but the soundtrack is trash tho.
U have no idea how much i agree. The electro pop for the action scenes really sucked and took me out of the scene.
It was so bad that it was distracting
I wish this was a series, with like 5+ seasons. I loved every second.
Well, I can say the movie was good. It actually surprised me the first time I saw it. Like many Netflix properties I definitely see why this wasn't on the big screen. I think the biggest way this movie failed is in the fact that the Concept is way more interesting than the story. I recognized this in the first 30 and Literally while me and my fam were watching this, I started bringing up these points like how the villains don't have a presence and my mom literally turned to me and said, "What villains?"
I think you should be wary about your mom
The soundtrack was pretty millennial-synth/pop. I didn’t hate it, but I could go without it.
Yeah. They could have done better
it's like your middle aged uncle or auntie trying to be relatable 😭
Joe and Nicky: romance of the year
Romance of the millennium more like
Two LMEs two days in a row? What is this? Because it can’t be true.
I watched it and I enjoyed it. Thanks guy for covering this
This movie balance the action and the "philosophy". I love it!
One thing I didn't like about this movie, Andy should have been able to feel the difference in weight between a gun that loaded and one that's not when Booker set her up to be ambushed
My favorite character is Nicky his face is so good.
Damn! Never been this fast to an upload. Love the character concept of this movie, but the execution can be done better. Waiting for the next film though!
Just got done watching it with my family and oh man I couldn’t tell from the movie thumbnail thought it was going to be boring but oooohhh boyyyy was I WRONG. can’t wait for the 2nd one. See Andy’s friend and how mad she must be after being in a box underwater .
Wow. Only one view? Last time I was this early Corona didnt exist.
corona has always existed
How ironic. The Asian woman drowns for more than a thousand years, and yet she still drinks water during the last scene lol.
I think that's intended for us to make the connection of who she is for those who weren't rly paying attention
sksksksks “MARVEL” 👀
I really enjoyed the movie!! And I'll be definitely looking forward to the sequels.
Honestly, I friggen LOVE THIS MOVIE!!!
I low key like this movie a lot. 💯
I hope he reviews some kdramas. I'm just starting to get into them. Strangers From Hell and Stranger are sooo good. Both on Netflix.
One of my favorite Kdramas on Netflix is Bad Guys.
Strangers from hell!! It was originally named Hell Is Other People but this one is better I think
I have Strangers from Hell on my list. The only Kdrama I watched recently in 2020 was Extracurricular activities. I usually watched K horror or K thrillers though
Watch Vagabond & Bad Guys!
@@santos8468 yes, I really liked that one too. The mystery of it, and the characters. So good.
Marvel pulled through with a yeet but even Thanos cant snap the Gay away!!!
When Niccolo said "He's All and He's More" damn I wished I could have a partner like that
That's...Joe. Niccolo is the Italian.
DANE CARRINGTON Joe turned me into a sap, I never wanted to be a in relationship so bad. I first thought that’s some deep ancient poetry right there. He spoke in ways to me that was so surreal
ayy first time seeing a belgian actor in a film like this
I knew something was off about Booker
« Dying is easy young man living is harder »
We stan a person of culture
I am not throwin' away my shot
Was that Dudley Dursley !?
They said that the one girl could’ve been at the bottom of the sea, drowning over and over for 500 years… I did the math on that. If you use an average of her drowning, let’s say every 5 minutes, she would’ve drowned over 52 million times. That’s so fucked up.
She would have also felt the pain pf being eating by tiny animals
Honestly I watch his videos first and then watch the movies, he's almost like a friend to me who recommends movies/shows LOL
I could never. he legit spoils and I dont like that. I watch movies with out a recommendation because you watch movies you wouldn't watch if some one tells you they didn't like it. Even if they say it's lame ill like to have my own conclusion
have you ever explained an anime movie? if not I would love to see you explain "A Silent Voice". Me and my best friend watched it together and by far, it is AMAZING
Second-ed! It was an incredibly beautiful movie.
Yes! Please read the manga too (if you haven't already) the movie ends at the halfway mark of it!
Definitely loveeeeeeeeee that movie!!!
"let me explain"
- Let Me Explain
so did anyone catch the hamilton reference
Dying is easy....
Dying is easy, young man living is harder
I was wondering if it was a Hamilton reference or if LMM was quoting someone when he wrote that.
It's a quote from, Gayle foreman I think but doesn't take away from it being a brilliant quote 🤘🏻
Ah yes, the usual upload time of 2:00 AM.
The marvel reference 💀
Quinn: dies over and over again by drowning
Stephen from vampire diaries: girl me too 😗🙃
I love how they showed Andy all the good shes done over the years. She was so jaded and didn’t think there was anything positive coming out of their immortality and seeing her standing there surrounded by everything she’s done is the real pay off of the movie and it answers their question of “why?” so well.
True
The concept of this movie is so interesting but the execution was not there. The begging was slow, the soundtrack was awful, and the main character’s acting was not great. But I love Charlize Theron and I really enjoyed the stories of the other immortals. Still a fun movie I hope they improve on the sequels
Honestly... I already thought that this movie was amazing. But hearing it explained it just made me realized how deep it also was. So LISTEEEEN, i am very much looking forward to (IF) the release of the next one.
I love the " its good to finally meet you " scenes in movies that have no previous context. It's like am I really suppose to know who any of these mofos are.
Alright, you convinced me...I’ll need to watch this movie now and read all the comics ASAP! It sounds a fun, kickass, series!
For Me this is Afternoon
So for you it's AM mine is PM

I really loved the movie. Thanks for your review cause I didn't know that there would be others but I hoped so since they set it up. I did feel bad for Booker cause he was in a poor state as it was an now he is alone. I didn't know it was a graphic novel but that makes it even better. Again thank you.
It's crazy I thought that the movie was just pretty good, not a revolution
Same
Does movies have to be revolutionary to be considered good or otherwise bad in general? I mean, same could apply to any of the movies that either got snubbed at the awards, simply generally good but overlooked or utter trash.
This reminds me of wolverine (2013) in terms of the pain of living too long
Logan did a better job showing that, though.
Definitely
One of the worst things you can have in a story is invincible characters, especially in an action series ( which is why Superman is the worst super hero ever) because you immediately kill any tension there might be in any conflict. Without tension, without a possibility of failure, there is no conflict and hence no story.
This was the biggest flaw in the Highlander movies imo. Yes they could get their heads cut off but it seemed to be only other immortals that could actually kill an immortal so all the stuff they were doing created zero tension because you knew they would survive no matter what. The story was flat because of it.
In The Old Guard they handled the invincibility well by introducing the fact that the immortality can go away at any moment without any warning. This idea, that if you get wounded it may not go away, kept the tension in the conflicts. Then of course the main character does in fact lose her immortality and this just doubles down on the last big encounter and raises the stakes to where they should be. I really liked this aspect of the movie and think it really speaks to the thought put into the story.
The movie is basically the anime “Ajin” on Netflix
Ajin is so fucking good... I kinda wanna rewatch it all now
Bra we need another season of ajin
I swear you already had a video o this movie, that's why I watched it because I saw your video.
2:37 Yes! It’s like, she’s freaking out, trying to make sense of it, lied because that made way more sense, but her squad just... goes “nope, bye.” Like, JfC, she’s scared, you friggin idiots!
Ha for the people who are watching this at 2 AM ha its 9.30 where i am.Not to brag :)
Looool this was so petty
Good for you 👍 😴 (I'm at 2am)

Bruv ur videos are just pure movie education
U r my inspiration man
4:43 I love the edits that you did on this scene, it's so true to what disney and marvel would have done.
I enjoyed almost everything about this film . . . but the MUSIC? It was like someone was playing and episode of Love Island in the background. So off putting. I hope they sort that out in the next films. Just use more cinematic tunes.
As someone who watched it i can say it really good watched with my dad we loved it.
I watched the movie only for Luca Marinelli, literally italian pride, and then completely fell in love with it
the lighting/coloring in this movie truly bothered the shit outta me like everything looked so fucking dull !!! WHYYY???
please do a video on " Coin Locker Girl" I really want to see your take on the movie
I wish you gave personal ratings to these movies, I felt this movie was a bore but a lot of people like it so I guess I either have poor taste or I want every movie to be as good as Insidious Bastards.
my boy has been popping these videos like my great grandma popped out babies
6:24 hey we found the Titanic and other ship wrecks......its possible. After all she knew apx where at (Pacific vs Indian Ocean etc) ESPECIALLY IF YOU ALIVE FOR FEW HUNDRED YEARS
Love this channel!
My parents actually just finished watching this movie
This was actually a good comic adaptation it was good and the philosophy was good to
I just... hated this movie. The insufferable and completely out-of-place pop music, the shitty acting from Nile, and the really off-putting dialogue. It felt like the Fast and the Furious movies when they took themselves seriously, with worse acting and shittier dialogue. It had some great fundamental ideas, like the woman who drowned for eternity, I just didn't like the execution...
This is simple .. they are Immortal because their are met to Rule all the mortals .... what better Kings then does who know what true Suffering and Mankind is capable ...
“Decappy cappy capitate”
Haha I’m still alive
“Choppy chop chop chop”
Haha I’m still alive”
“Shreddy shred shred shred”
Haha I’m still-
"Merrick the Muggle" had me rolling🤣
How did they take such an amazing concept and make such a bad movie!
I really liked this movie, I tried to guess what would happen was surprised by the ending
Charlize: They don't call me!
Marvel: Pick The Fone - Heeeey Giiiiiirl!
The Van scene Mavel could never
That scene was cheesy and unnecessary.. We get it, they're men who like men. Who cares? That romantic monologue was misplaced and corny
Imagine drowning again and again and like for hundred years...
I so do not want the second movie to be the second book as the ending completely undoes the realization Andy has in both the movie and in the first book which makes the character growth spent so much time investing in......entirely pointless. To be clear i loved the second book just hated hated the ending
Merrick The Muggle 😂 That was pure gold! I laugh so hard!
I really enjoyed this movie so I’m Gunna have to hop on the comics
Listen
I am SO glad y'all put me onto this. Definitely not my usual genre but i had to pause part way through this vid so i can watch it for myself. Do not regret it one bit
I love this movie cause Frank ocean was used in the movie
This was the one I was waiting for bro !
When you get the Hamilton reference in the beginning
Charlize Theron in Mission impossible?
HELL YEAH.
i’m not a fan of the writing it seemed so cliche and cringe but the only scenes where the writing was really good was joe/niki in the van and booker telling nile about his children
