Best damn drumheads around! Quality product, stellar customer service, fantastic rewards points system.. can't go wrong with Evans! I'm planning on getting a Barney Beats tattoo lol. Hydraulics are a classic go-to, the calftones became a personal favorite, and the UV line is greatest innovation in drum heads since we started using plastic.

I agree, but Evans traditional spray on coating is the worse out of the big 3 drum head makers. I'll take a Remo coated over a Evan coated any day..
Their UV and Clear lines are awesome.

would it be at all possible to get a reso bass drum head made out of an old movie screen to utilize a slide, or film projector upon? I would like to have a human eye projected onto the reso head of my kick drum watching the action going on the stage, blinking and moving from left to right as well. I have played numerous drum heads but EVANS by far is thee go to drum head for myself. Such articulation & craftsmanship that goes into Every single head made by yourselves is nothing short of phenomenal. I refuse to play any other head. I have an Evans eq batter head with the removable zero ring built into the border of the head on my kickdrum. I have an Evans white batter head on my snare drum, clear evans on my racks and coated white floor tom,all batter heads. I'm going to stay with Evans when I have to replace my reso's.Kudos to yourselves for creating such a fine product.I am enamoured by your craftsmanship as well as overall product.

Wonderful video showing the construction process of my favorite drumheads ever!! E.V.A.N. is doing a great job with everything here, but as time goes by, I’m still curious to know what E.V.A.N. did to the carbon based intern he replaced.

I LOVE the sound of Evans Drumheads, but they haven’t figured out their coatings after all these years. In humid climates, their white coating will become tacky and sticky to the touch, sticking to the inner cardboard packaging and peel off some the cardboard when you try to separate it. The same can be said of the Strata series heads.
I did talk to a representative from D’Addario at a Mid-West Clinic some years ago about the issue. He gave me his card and told me to drop him a line with the heads I use and insisted that Evans changed their formulation of their coatings. He sent me a huge box of heads (which was awesome), but the issue still persists. In the end, you can’t beat the Remo and Aquarian coatings.
Let me know when you figure things out and I’ll try those heads.

A case in point, I’ll occasionally clean my white coated heads with a Mr. Kleen Magic Eraser and Isopropyl Alcohol. With Remo heads, I can use A TON of pressure and muscle power and the heads will clean up nicely with NO coating removal. With Evans heads, the white paint will start to come off immediately with moderate pressure (that white sticky paint substance) and I have to throw the heads away (along with using paint thinner to clean my hands).
When white coated Evans heads can withstand my Magic Eraser/Isopropyl Alcohol cleaning job, please let me know.

Question for Evans, I know y'all have a UV coated Hydraulic snare head. Have y'all ever thought to add the UV coating or even the UV curing process to the whole Hydraulic line, the tom heads & bass heads and not just the snare heads? Really think that would be really cool to add that extra coating and durability to such a great sounding head.

I'll tell 'ya: As much as I love and stand by Evans drumheads, I'm a little disappointed with their customer relations. I recently submitted a request seeking a donation to a legendary blues club here in San Francisco called The Saloon. It opened in San Francisco in 1861 and has been honored by the Blues Foundation in Memphis for being a promoter of keeping the Blues alive. The Saloon hosts 14+ bands each week, all of whom use the house kit. It's been over a year under those conditions and the heads are completely thrashed. And times being what they are, The Saloon can't afford the $250 or so to replace them. So I reached out to Evans to see if they could donate a set of heads. They actually have an Event/Donation form you can fill out for this very request with a promise that someone will get back to you in 1 -3 business days. A simple response of "yes" or "no" would have sufficed, given the amount of similar requests they must get and the time it takes to process them all. But to not hear back at all? After several weeks, I’ve given up and will probably either take up a collection or foot the bill myself. Perhaps I don't understand the criteria for such a donation or maybe they are understaffed, but on the surface it would seem social media and status in the industry take precedence. To be clear, I'm not here to badmouth Evans; only their lack of a response to my inquiry. ☮🥁
