Honestly, super disappointed. Felt like week 1 of an episode rather than the entire act.
But there was no story - other then just playing onslaught.
Exactly what I expected when everyone B!tched about timegating, this community is so stupid. Anyone complaining about the game needs to STFU and leave the game and leave it for the true fans
So we aren't counting research quests as part of the story?
Honestly, the problem is not the lack of timegate. But no timegate dosent mean remove 90% of playtime. Past episode, each act had a 50 steps quest, requiring 1hour to complete each week over like 4-5 weeks. BUT there, the quest is legit the equivalent of 1, mby 2 weeks worth of content. And there is honsetly wayyyy less content compared to a stretched episodic quest
No. It's not that ppl are mad at only beating it an hour, it's that the whole of Act 1's story was BARELY an hour long. They were seriously going to stretch that out over 4 weeks? I beat it in about that time and was confused that was it? We barely did anything, there was like one in game cutscene and that was it and nothing happened.
Exactly this! What they gave us was a normal week of content they’ve been giving us. Not a whole expansions worth. Come on Bungie, you know better than this…
Yall know that we are getting A LOT more content this month?
Also how do we know that every other month it was only an hour of story?
45 minutes of the hour we’re going back and forth between Eido and Eido on the holoprojector with her still in the room
I just feel like the amount of money i pay per year, isnt matching the amount of content im getting
I really disagree when it comes to seasons. $10 maybe $15 dollars for 3 battleground strikes, an exotic mission, two seasonal activities, and new weapons is a pretty good deal
Crazy, you probably buy a skin for a game and enjoy your money spent.. but nooo you buy a dungeon new mission and stuff and it bad
I mean 15 dollars for the amount of content that was in all 3 acts of echoes I feel is actually not that bad of a deal lmao
…… any amount of money spent on games dlcs etc, depending how long it lasts for the individual it might be or not be enough to satisfy their hunger unfortunately. We are random for these things I find.
100% when you can complete 3 weeks of activity and an hour . They're f****** robbing their player base . Even if they spread it out with the time gates, it would still be only 1 hour worth of content. Really mean to be the whole episode is about three every 4 hours. Over 4 months. You get an hour a month. They should be being sued for robbing their players
To be fair, you always had the option of completing the content this way - you just had to wait ~6 weeks from the start of the season before touching the game. So you could either fomo it every week, or take your time and get all that story play/content later on as you wanted
I better not hear ANYONE complain about time gates if they bring them back
Edit: have I started a not so civil war?
Time gates aren't the problem. An hour of content and most of it being crafting is the problem..
honestly if people want to play the story all at once just wait for 12 weeks or how many weeks then do all the missons at once.
I don't like this line of thinking. Just because people were upset they beat the story so quickly doesn't mean time-gates are good now.
I don't even think all time-gating is bad either. there's a healthy balance and Bungie hasn't found it yet
I’d rather not have the time gates.
You are part of the problem! The issue is not time gating or even having the content from the jump. The issue is how little of content they produce for the consumer. 1 hour for a brand new season? Really? That’s the issue. I’m not a developer so idk how long it takes to make this stuff but what I do know is when other games release their new seasons or DLC’s it’s a whole lot more then just 1 hour.
I agree, much prefer 1hr released at once instead of stretching it for a month.
It was cool that I got to beat it in one day but I wish the act had more cutscenes and was just a bit more longer
the problem isnt that we completed it in one day but that its was too short
I think the heart of this criticism is just, there's not enough story period. That was kinda the problem with the time gate system too: people had to wait three weeks just to get through an hours worth of content. The delivery system is important, but not if the underlying content is unsatisfying.
Exactly
How are people completing all the field work in an hour? I can't even get enough materials to unlock 3 extra tonics in an hour
Yeah im still chipping away at it myself. I think I might be wasting time crafting potions that aren't going to unlock any more new potions but I don't know how to tell when I can stop crafting a given potion.
I feel like they aren't completing EVERYTHING [e.g. field tonics] but they have completed the new content. field tonics is literally just bounties in reused locations. the only really new activity is the seasonal storyline (which is like 45 minutes) and the 3 new onslaught maps (which can't substitute for a seasonal activity)
They’re talking about the story itself. Not the extra stuff like potion crafting.
very eassy there are manyutorials that show youhow you ccan get max mats in less than an hour, the game islaggy and glitchy all over peopl are exploiting the heckout of it.
Bungie not giving WI, a scout rifle, anti barrier is so dumb. This season is literally just onslaught on two maps 🤣 unbelievable
I thought I was the only one lol, I took it into a master lost sector and got slammed thinking I could slow, freeze and stun anti-barriers😭
EXACTLY
@@hawkmoon9140and the freeze doesn’t last long at all
@@Da_Khemist88 and it’s very inconsistent when it comes to the amount of shots it takes to activate smh lol I was really excited to finally have a reason to use that exotic
It's so bad🤦🏾♂️
If only people who played destiny had time to stop playing and take care of their mental health we would have a really wonderful community.
D2 Players when content is timegated: 😡😡👿👿
D2 Players when Bungie removes some major timegates: 😡😡👿👿
No lies detected 💯😂😂
You're right on both , can't deny that. There's always unsatisfied players whatever what bungie do but , i feel like the first echoe act 1 ( without the time gate ) had more content than revenant act one, maybe i'm wrong. There has to be a middle ground with the two things you've written.
the removal of the timegates just went to highlight just how little the story content is.
For me they should just removal all story from the episodes and just concentrate on the gameplay. Let the twice a year DLC do the story beats
@@MrLutharr I agree with you and this looks like the best answer to this question I’ve seen in a longgggg time
@@Dragonoiideunfortunately it’s a case of damned if you do damned if you don’t im afraid. There will always be someone or a group who will not like the change.
People also gotta keep in mind, Festival is launching next week
I don't care what y'all say this is so much better than stretching out the content. I was away from d2 for ALL of the last episode and I was able to clear everything story wise in 5 hours just before the reset.
Plus, I hate having to go through the filler as well, that shit just feels like a chore to go through (cough, cough, Khovostov quest, cough, cough), and of course, time gating content to an obnoxious degree (like Season of the Haunted).
“Go talk to Eido at the holoprojector”
*shes literally standing right next to me*
1 hour is what we are expecting when we are on time gates but we aren't this is all we get for a month plus one dungeon
Festival of the Lost.
@Michael-ee4uz that's non-episodic it happens every year
@@anseljames5531 fine. Besides the free annual content that is payed for by season purchases and Eververse, you got new weapons, new exotics, new cosmetics, new (or updated) activities (Onslaught, modifiers for Strikes and Nightfalls and Lost Sectors), new perks, new mods, new ways to focus gear, and Iron Banner rework, and much more. $15, and we aren't even talking Act 2 or 3 yet. Put it in perspective.
I wasn't mad I just kind of laughed. I'm numb to it now. I was playing with a friend and we were looking through our quests like "what's next?".. but there was nothing
legit i came home from work hype to keep playing and i was like where’s my quest?? smh lol
Tbh just finished the potion missions and that’s what my buddy and I did. Just laughed at it and then there’s nothing
@@Gigem17 same 😅
@@maggie937what got me most was the 15 enemy missions and even the last mission I was just like uhhh there’s no way that’s it 😅
Was it even an hour? The hardest part was finding the little blue thing on Europa...
Its so dumb that everyone was complaining about having to wait a week for each set of story and they were warned that they are gonna be upset when they rush through it all in a day and then have nothing to do for months and guess what happened they got upset bc they rushed through it like they expected months of missions grinding as fast as possible every day all day and apparently now their being cry babies about it
@@Cinderchar by the player choosing not to do it all the first day? Do you even know how to think for yourself dude
Rush through it? Are you serious? Rush through what? You mean to tell me it take them 6 months to produce 1 hours worth of story for act 1 for a brand new season!!!! Other games deliver wayyy more then that and bungie is not hitting the mark. That’s why people quit their game. Wake up!
@@SB-ec2mj if your not happy with the game then just simply play another game
COPIUM time gating is garbage and not excuse for content amount given which way little
@@ericx6969 seasonal story isnt meant to be as long as a yearly dlc bud i think your coping holding on to little hope to have infinite content
I just think at this point people are complaining just to complain. I'll just enjoy the modes and new Titan builds when i get the story out of the way. It's not like we're paying for The Final Shape here.
Bro it was just 3 bounties and 2 story missions for one hole arc
Next episode: Destiny 2: Emblems
Just frckin release all the content BUNGIE! JAYSUS!
Bungie just can't satisfy this community.
well at least they didnt remove encore im so happy about that
I finished the quest and was confused searching for more to do. It’s insane. There is no reason for revenant to be this dry day 1
They don't want to over deliver
@@vohbea lot of there staff and funding was removed so lower your expectations
@@man_without_fear6518ye cuz it’ll set the bar too high and they know they can’t meet it
I feel like Im in the minority, but I dont mind weekly content at all. I honestly hate when shows drop a whole season in one day, too. Shows like Penguin and Walking Dead still do weekly episodes and I love it.
Fucking knew this would happen
so no timegate and it was still 45 minutes long
Didn’t the community want to finish it all in day one? that’s why they did it in the first place
Outside of the apothecary taking time gather mats and then discover potions(17 so far), I feel like how the time between the season before final shape and could relax and play other game modes in destiny or other games. Got alot done during that time
With my job, kids, 2 hurricanes in 2 weeks, i just finished the 1st two minor field work quest for the story and I dont care for this potion crap
Tbh I thought potions would be something like the Menagerie 😮💨
Dude, i made a similar comment about how i think only the people who plays hours a day are complaining. If i can play that day (maybe 60-70% chance per day of the week) its only about 45 mins, an hour tops then real life atuff takes precedent. Idk how some of these kids/adults with tons of free time did all the fieldwork and tonic stuff, along with story and onslaughts in an HOUR!?!?... I call BS, that or they are only complaining about one aspect.
We unjustly hate a lot of things but this is the one thing I actually agree with. We were told all of act 1 would be released and it was. But we were never told all of act 1 was just the equivalent of one week of echoes. It was a normal weekly occurrence quest, no where near the length act one of echoes was.
I didn't even know I completed it. First mission was like a tutorial and setup for the story. This is why Bungie said they released all the content on day 1...because there wasn't any haha.
What’s crazy is the warframe gets one 90 minute quest every 2-3 months and people love them. Because the devs actually care and put love into the game. Me personally tho, I don’t mind a 90 lore dump once every 2-3 months
People would be happy that if they completed an episode so quickly, they would then be able to play all the content that ended up in the CV from the game again. We had such great things and it's all gone.
People complaining about the short story need to chill I actually enjoyed the short story so myself and others can get to other things that we haven’t finished yet and also can beat the story on other characters too
Wait... the couple of missions we got was IT for the story??? The Story was so tiny. doing this weekly would have been worse. The story so far is a fucking joke...
I'm not one of the people complaining about the length
Neither am I. I don't think it was too short. I'd say it's quite average.
“Remember to stay hydrated!” cit. Me, Kell of those who don’t want to pay to buy the dungeon’s key
This is what these guys wanted wtf
Who? Who "wanted" this?
Can’t please everyone. Someone is always gonna complain
@@Keller5327LV a lot of the community during echos was complaining about the “timegating” and now that it’s gone it’s all of a sudden to short
Dawg you realize if it was time gated we would’ve had like 10 minutes of content to play right? The whole “release all content at once” thing is complete bullshit. That’s just another shitty cop out for bungie
@Duckman-xi9ys bro playing an hour of content straight, or playing an hour of content time gated 4xs to 15 min snatches, still only equales up to AN HOUR of content. That's why ppl are mad. Lol
I’m LOVING this new season, no matter what you do there will always be a bunch of cry babies and on the other hand there will be people that enjoy the content. Either ways if you don’t like it just don’t play it 😂😂
Onslaught is cool so please always continue to add things (including editing OLD MAPS with new weapons that is randomized) , then make events for 4-12 people since we know you can do 12 people. To be honest, every event should have somethign for PVE and PVP related to the holiday and maybe PVEVP
Goes to show you how much effort they really put into this game now.
I'd like an onslaught map with no portals. Just good old fashion tower defense
In all honesty even if they did timegate this season, it still would have very little stuff. I mean most of the missions was basically just watching loading screens from orbit to the social space, and between the patrol zones. I mean to watch 3 or 4 min worth of loading to do a mission that has you kill 15 enemies on Europa is a slap in the face.
I wasn’t upset about the length necessarily. I was irritated that most of it was just making tonics and talking to NPCs.
Act 1 is full of quests, tonics, Onslaught, Dungeon, Festival of the Lost, Iron Banner, etc. Plenty.
Act 2 looks like it will have Prison of Elders. Awesome.
Act 3 will have an exotic mission and another holiday event.
There is plenty of bang for my buck.
It was still shorter than 3 weeks worth of stuff. I was under the impression all the story was coming all at once
I’d rather have time gates back… Having something new to do every week other than just log in and do the same pinnacle grind was refreshing. What we need is a real GOOD story. Season of the Seraph was the last incredible season I remember.
I have to wonder if they were trying to convince people that releasing "all" the content for the episode right away would be a bad idea. Hell I wonder if they intentionally only put out an hour of story to do so, or if they really weren't capable of putting together more story for people to play through. Really all they did was show how little they could actually pull off without the extra time of releasing things weekly.
It might be safe to say Bungie does not have the resources of manning to pull off competent and well made stories in this new episode way, they genuinely need the 1-2 years timeline to put out something.
Yeah, they removed time gates, but they also just had less steps. I also feel like it would've been fine if it didn't feel like most of the story happened in the epilogue. I was in awe by the epilogue, but act I felt like the tutorial to the episode.
Nah those were legit mini missions. Every single one of them left you feeling blue ball'd. And to be honest I did it last night taking my time and still did it in just over an hour and I'm just now realizing that I completed it all
If Bungie had tried this earlier with other seasons, it would be the same result tbh. When there's not a 1week time-gate between missions, the content Bungie has been feeding you for a long time now isn't really even worth the season pass. $20 to grind for a few hours and then over 2 months of nothing to do.
Being able to do the seasonal quest at your own pace is a good thing imo. Regardless of how much there is to do, the players should decide how fast they want to beat it not bungie.
I must be missing something? I only had one mission and that it I dont see anymore quests in my directory
It's worryingly thin about as thin as the roster of Bungie employee's still holding out hope for more expansions / seasons but at this point 🤷♂️
I’am kinda burnt out on onslaught! Especially since they take over a hour to do. I think 30 waves would have been more appropriate.
Sooo I'm thinking they launched all weapons armor and tonics for act 1 but the story content is still time gated. Act 1 part 2 refugees is a challenge we never got the quest for this week.
I think you are on to something and the dungeon is the next step in the story
@@dhstarwars1984 I'm also mainly thinking the field work was ment to dropped each week during an act cause the very first one I did I had voice lines from Eido but all the others were silent even tho they had a long timer.
They should give the emblem to those who were directly affect by the storm
Oh no if only somebody thought “wait bungie won’t add anything to the seasons story because it’s already done, they will only do patches buffs, nerfs etc for what problems the season will have” …… Unfortunately it’s a case of you reap what we sow. Just a reminder season of the Hersey will probably be more or less the same it’s most likely done and act 1 story will only last an hour when it launches. Other than that I am looking forward to the dungeon tomorrow.
All the content at once is objectively better. Subjectively, it also does take me a month to play through all of it anyway.
My siblings in the Light and Christ. This has always been the case with every season and dlc. Everything here can be done within a single day, even pvp and Iron Banner.
Acting like this is suddenly new and shocking is like being shocked AF that you see the sun in the daytime.
I find the season/acts just filler draining away time from other end game activities. For me now there's time to focus on nightfalls, dungeons, raids and comp.
Personally i love the whole rush the mission and then I can just keep focusing on farming and potentially get all the tonics right away. There is no real in between for the whole mission thing.
Haven't finished because I work 12 hours a day and barely have energy to play anymore
So where does Act I end? I finished the Prologue and Part I of Act I and did the first couple of things we had to do but now I have nothing. Is that it?
Here’s a hot take I am ok with this however I think the act should have been longer and more explanation of the tonics but I digress it’s only been a few days since new episode just launched
I'll just be happy if it says pinnacle reward that it drops at pinnacle level...had 3 drop at 2000 which is what I'm at when loaded up Tuesday
The last few weeks I've played onslaught for the edge god roll because there was nothing eles to do, now I gotta play onslaught again lol but at lest I've actually felt a grind for that god roll
For all the faults echoes had, at least there was more to do after beating all the story steps for a week.
The only thing people have to do until act 2 is Onslaught and personally I don't like that mode anymore.
The problem is a lack of stuff to do, not them letting us do each Act's story at one time.
Each season should have 2-3 activities, excluding exotic missions to do to earn seasonal stuff.
People are misinterpreting the outrage to an absurd degree.
Seriously…At this point, the “community” gets mad at pretty much everything Bungie does now 🙄
Does that mean there is no more quest till 3-4 weeks???
So ummm.. this means one or two campaigns involving all the season missions should be doable (I’d make it as a separate free to play experience) just so the story is there to experience.
In my mind, y’all got what y’all asked for y’all can’t complain. I didn’t care either way.
Call me crazy... but if your going to edited some of those PVP maps for Onslaught... could those maps also go to PVP... I mean those trees blocking part of the map just change the way the map is played a bit.. even the other edited PVP maps feels different. Don't think about it. Just do it for the sake of just having more maps for PVP.
im glad i beat it quick, now i can concentrate on other stuff 🤷 i hated waiting week to week to progress stuff..i welcome the change 🙂👍
I didnt think i completed the quest but i did it was that short 😂
What were people expecting, 6hrs worth of stuff? So unrealistic. This is about what I expected realistically. The new future of Destiny 2.
Yes let’s underdeliver. The world would end if they OVERDELIVERED!!
There was not even enough content to timegate. I will be finished playing until the next act opens after the dungeon is complete. There's just nothing to do.
Where are all the trolls who said bungie is beeing held back by activision?! We get even less now
Ya, if it wasn't for my fireteam playing once a week, I'd stop playing.
Personally i liked it, i don't have much time to play games so for me it was good, only thing i don't like is how the game updates and content drops at 3am in Australia, instead of the 11pm like it was in Destiny 1.
It didn’t change how much we got, just the timing. People complaining about the size of the content should make that the compliant, it has always been this way
Wait act 1 is already done 💀 I was thinking that they hadn’t removed the time dating and was waiting for more stuff. No wonder if feels like onslaught is the only thing to do
6:00
Led, time to drop the hammer!
I personally just want to play, not all of us have time to waste on silly content, just want to blow shit up
Toxic negativity, people need to stfu and stop complaining
Yeah, I'm more upset that they locked all the content behind yet another paywall. That's what will make me burn out again...
…But their job is to keep you engaged and not let you find another game you love bc you might not come back at all.
My thing is I liked both this current manner and the 3 weeks in, 3 weeks off from echoes
Being able to see everything immediately was a nice change and frankly, I feel like it helped the stories pacing a lot more, however I like previous seasons set up because I could hop in causally for 3 weeks, then go play something else or come back when I felt like it the other 3 weeks. It felt like my time was valued and I didn’t need to play the game constantly and non stop.
And here it goes exactly what I knew was gonna happen 😂. This always happens half of the community will ask for something the other half didn't want now everybody is mad at each other. What's funny is nobody tries to actually compromise on anything they normally just want it removed. All Imma say is that Bungie should change up the pace sometimes.
We have every right to complain and like they say " If you cant take the heat get out of the kitchen". I just feel they are capable of better than this. This could possibly be related to the layoffs but not sure about that.
rick kakis with the fresh cut and trim?
I was mad at first but after like an hour I didnt give a shit
the second i saw crows first suckleborn /tp onto the HELM i knew this story wasn't going well
also i just love being soft-locked from crafting tonics, cant even interact with the main draw of the episode, fksake cmon bungo
Same i get done what I need then I have more time to play the back log of games that I have.
It’s not the time gate and it’s not the speed run of players. The fact is imo that an average player can beat this easily/quickly without trying to do so and then there’s nothing. 15 enemies is a joke for the potion missions. It’s a LACK of content in total. Legendary Stasis grenade launcher is cool tho
People making the argument for or against timegates are fundamentally missing the point that the content is scant. Even if you go at a moderate pace, its like an hour and a half. Me personally I dont care because i barely pay attention to the story anyways, but i think the main concern is and should be the seemingly brief story content
Bungie won't be making us pay for the story or weapons in the future (For seasons) so they 100% won't increase it.
Same thing with antibarriers is happening with conditional…
