Hey Arvind.. Very informative.. Even after living in Norway for 9 years I was not aware of these 3 parts. Thanks! One crucial point which your audience should know is that one gets further deductions on direct tax (22% as of 2020) for the amount of interest you pay on any credits your have, like mortgage, credit card, car loan and so on. That brings down the total amount of direct tax you pay.
Thank you so much for your kind words and support! I'm glad to hear that the video was informative and helpful to you as someone new to Norway. Stay tuned for more engaging and informative videos!
Hi Arvind, thanks for your video! Could you perhaps make a video about PAYE tax scheme vs General tax scheme? I feel that this is something that is quite complex to plan and figure out as a new resident in Norway (as a foreign worker).
Hello Arvind, I have been assigned 37% tax card, because of this much higher tax is getting deducted from my salary. I contacted Skatteetaten to change my tax card but they are saying it can only be changed beginning of the next year
Is there a way around these taxes? What if the income I earned from my business is saved inna tax haven like Switzerland or the cayman islands? Can the norwegian government still tax me?
Very nicely described 👍🏼 also please do a second part when we get refund on 22nd June. Since now you are a owner of a beautiful home you will get a nice interest refund from Skatt. Very good information. Please keep doing informative videos 😁👏🏼👏🏼.
hello Arvind, very informative video. i have a question; i'm new to norway, it's been 4 months. i didn't know about the first 2 years deduction. can i edit my tax card?

Very informative video 👍. Just want to inform you that last year was my first year in Norway but I didn't get the standard deduction of 40000. Even tax authorities people convey that this deduction is not applicable when I enquired. Please advise for this year how to get the benefit of standard deduction.
Hi, maybe you can help to understand the principles of tax payment for sailors? We don't have a tax card because the company pays taxes for us because we don't live in Norway. but when entering and checking the tax report, there is a big shortfall that needs to be paid.. tnx :))
Someone told me tax will be deducted 50% in Norway if u r working first time in Norway till u got d number and tax card, after that u will be charged 15-40% tax Would u please explain it
Very informative... I just have a question about health care or insurance. Does this tax include your insurance as well? is it taken from contribution NIS ? or you have to buy it separately?
Very informative video 🙂 It's my first year in Stavanger. I am working here in a company. I want to know that while applying for tax card what to chose between Pay as you earn (PAYE Scheme) & Ordinary taxation. please suggest.

You forgot a deduction. Interest on all loans - gives a repayment corresponding to 28% of the interest . Its also importent to mension that tax in Norway also includes savings for pensions Here its a simpy way Here's an easier way to put it simply for singles. Kr. 60 000 (free) Kr. 100,000 (9%) Kr. 300,000 (19.9%) kr. 500,000 (25.7%) Kr. 1,000,000 (33.3%) .

Sir... What if like we earn from online platforms as a part time(irregularly) and we came to study in Norway, will our part time be considered for tax? Because, usually we do it for our daily expenses rather than considering it as an income.
Many thanks man. Very much appreciated. Specially reminding those 40K deduction part in first year as I completely forgot. Also I came to know that in first years here it is flat 25% on gross salary instead of 30-35%, which is kind of relief. thanks again 😊👍🏻

Hi Arvind ,
The "first 2 years deduction" has been gone since last year. or Where it is in the tax?
also, can we claim later if someone didn't claim in his/her first 2 years?
I pay more in taxes in the USA and get less in benefits than when I used to live and work in Switzerland and Norway.

What's the marginal tax rate (usually 46.5%)? looks like a hidden daemon apart from these taxes. Please clarify, thanks
It 80 % taxes when you add vat & excise taxes in norway middle class
In my opinion, the way it works it, "you get fucked".
As a Norwegian I prefer 1% taxation in Georgia.
