  • Let's talk about how fasting coordinates with estrogen to create amazing rejuvenation in your body. This is one of the major reasons that women need their own guide for fasting. Estrogen is the master hormone in the female body and it is affected by fasting. This is must-have info if you are a woman interested in fasting.

I’m A bit surprised to hear about the recommendation to fast in the luteal phase. I learned from Stephanie Estima in her book and podcast that those days are not good for fasting, since we need some more calories anyways, and it might affect progesterone. She recommends fasting in the first week of the cycle from day 3 or so, when possible cramps hav subsided. She says that it is easier and healthier, since “all” hormones are very low during this week naturally. Would love to hear your opinion on that. Love your work, hope you continue to create this awesome content!

I’m always open to learning new data - my recommendations are based on published scientific studies. What are her recommendations based on?

@@FeliceGershMD Unfortunately she is just referencing general fasting research and mentions "clinical experience" for the recommendation to avoid fasting around progesterone peak in week 3, since there are not many scientific studies around regarding fasting in women. Are you mentioning those studies in your new book to recommend fasting during luteal phase?

I'm also surprised Another author of 3 books and UA-cam Dr Mindy also tells us to fast in days 1 to 10, 16 to 19 definitely not days 20 to 28, would love to hear why it differs in opinion

@@FeliceGershMD I am coming across information “Mindy Peltz” that says estrogen is in the first part of the cycle and allows for insulin sensitivity and fasting. Whereby in the later phase progesterone works off of glucose (which is why fasting won’t work and cause more issues).

Thank you for this. I appreciate the more in-depth information on how estradiol works in the body! A question: How is a most beneficial level of estradiol determined in a given post menopausal woman? Is it achieved with the absence of menopausal symptoms? Would love a reply since I have not been able to find consistent information on this. Thank you!

I heard her say in another video on cyclical progesterone that if we have a monthly bleed we are probably on the right dose of estrodial

Ok, so what is your opinion on taking anastrozole for DCIS unilateral mastectomy after care. My doctors told me my cancer was 98% estrogen based. I’m 70 now but got cancer in my 60s. Where did the estrogen come from if the ovaries are no longer producing it. I take anastrozole now once a week due to physical bodily side effects. I figure something is better than nothing. During the first two years after surgery I took it every day and I believe it probably aged me 10 years. I hate this drug. I actually sailed through menopause without any significant problems, not even hot flashes.

And don't train chest by the way, its useless for most women, saves you time to.

@@pr3519 No problem. Keep in mind that during fasting, keep a low training intensity. Try to feel how the body reacts, take longer breaks between sets. Standard ranges are between 1.5 - 2 minutes rest.

It has always perplexed me that so many starving women in 3rd world countries, refugee camps, etc. continue to produce babies. Thoughts?

What do you do if you have PCOS, have completed childbearing, 46 years old and can’t take estrogen due to Factor V deficiency and history of pulmonary embolisms?

    • @olderandwiser127

PCOS is highly associated with insuline resistance. Cut carbs drastically, reduce oxalate containing plants. Intermittent fast, meaning eat in a 6, no more than 8, hour window. I eat two meals per day within that time frame. It is fantastic.

Check with your doctor but I saw that Bio-Identical Estrogen CREAMS may be an option for PCOS. It isn't systemic. But research, please. ❤
