I love watching this stuff. You really get it. I see so many butcher jobs on UA-cam with polishing with dremels, just makes me cringe. You do proper work.
Excellent instruction, Fabio. As usual, I always learn something new from your videos. The bonus this time is that a friend of mine was in town last week and showed me his new Rolex, exactly the same as this one. They are beautiful and that bezel really sets them off. Thanks for sharing your skills.
Great work!!!! Just enough refinishing so as to look like a honest watch. You kept the character of the Explorer. I can see how many watches can be over polished. I hope you can post a video on edge chamfering. Peace and blessings!
Wow great stuff! I couldn’t believe how little time on the machine is needed for that sunburst finish. I have a p serial 16570 that could really use this service!
Really high quality stuff now i know how to do a sunburst brushed effect i have always wondered how that was done. Sometimes i thought it was done with a file or stone whilst rotating the case or what ever. Thanks
It’s an older Rolex machine. Most likely impossible to find. I’d like to know what machines other use as well. Would be cool to build a lapping machine for the house
@@Timesradical in Italy it easy to find ciclope brand. Looking their web site seams a good machine but your is gorgeous. If one day you'll sell it...contact me please. Other machines made in china have not the same quality I guess. Can you share the operating manuale of your machine please?
Landed here from other watch stuff and I must say, nice work. This video earned a like, share and subscribe. Great care and attention with as light a touch as needed. Mine could do with a refinish like this. Do you reapply the black paint or enamel to these? Would love seeing that.
I’m not here claiming it’s the the best job. Just sharing how I do it. It doesn’t need to be perfect either I’m just making it look a hell of a lot better without over polishing, wasting my time or damaging the bezel more than it already was. And, I hate to say it also but, we both know the watch will most likely be full of new scratches and dents within the next few months.
Unbelievable. This is really the highest level of polishing/satin finishing on watches, for which the highest level of skills is required. Respect!
I’m just seeing this comment and I really appreciate your opinion.

It’s a steel wheel with a sand paper on the surface
Does the bezel pop on and off like the GMT. I was hoping to swap it with a different bezel
No this bezel also functions as the crystal ring. It’s a one piece bezel
Where did you learn to use the lapping machine ?? Any course or just yourself ?
The polisher at work was trained on it and showed me a few things before he left.
Would you mind sharing a link for the lapping machine and the vice?
It was bought from Rolex directly. Impossible to find. Please let me know if you find something similar. I’ll
Be searching as long as you.

Thanks a lot! For this one there was no need to reapply enamel. But, yes next time I need to do the enamel I’ll record the process.
There’s still a gouge over the 16 that bugs me, and a few other scratches, but I’m OCD.
Didn’t want to refinish the bezel any deeper so that I could preserve the depth of the numbers.
Lapping machine how much?
Not for sale. I think we paid over 30k usd. Hard to find.
